Struttura molto umida.
Location was perfect, just a short walk to the town centre
No proper sitting area in the room although cushions were provided to sit on a bed this was not very practical. Although we knew there were no cooking facilities there was a common room but this had been taken over by a large family group so we could not avail of any of the facilities there. A toaster and microwave in the room we stayed in would have made the stay better.
It was fantastic close to town apart from the hill lol
Everything was great but a microwave and some plates would be good
Family room was great, beds and bathroom very good. Convenient for walking into town.
Outside of building neglected, could have done with bit of weeding and tidy up.
Loved the space and the convenience and tge wake up by cockeral was brilliant
Maybe few plates wud be only thing.
View , location , decoration feel like home
Door 🚪 was hard to open but owner was tell us it’s waiting on new one
Kamer was prima, genoeg parkeerplekken.
The room was great well equipmented with everything we needed . Spacious, nicely presented. Would recommend for sure and even stay in again if in the area
The view accessibility and cleanliness
Great host and superb value for money - our kids loved the room and the bunk beds, with all beds extremely comfortable and rooms heated perfectly throughout. The host was easily contactable and more than happy to help us with any queries we had. It may be useful to note that there's a common room upstairs with a communal area and additional cutlery, crockery and appliances if needed.
The entrance past the community centre is a bit rough, but passable when taken slowly, and the wifi signal was a bit patchy to start with, but didn't impact on or spoil our stay, and the host was most helpful throughout.
The flat was ok for an overnight
Needed more facilities for more than 1 night
Incredibly quiet location, very close to the village with ample parking available. Comfortable beds, warm & cosy.
No bad points, I'd only suggest adding a toaster / microwave to the kitchenette area it would be perfect for a quick breakfast. All in all a great stay.
We were on ground floor , was pet friendly so handy for us go in and out
Was noisey when others was coming in late at night or early in morning

Mary was a wonderful hostess. The property was wonderful, comfortable, warm, quiet and at the top of a hill with the most perfect view. Mountains and Sea. Mary was so helpful and accommodating when we all got absolutely drenched at the beach and we needed some extra heating to dry the shoes. She provided us with heat immediately (even though it was warm out but typical Irish weather) the shower and hot water was almost immediately hot hot hot. While there isn't a kitchen, we brought a camping stove to use outside and you could also use a BBQ if the weather was good enough. Otherwise there are so many places to eat in Ardara, lots of lovely pubs, a nice Chinese, fish and chips and pizza for take away. There's also some dine in places. There is a kettle in the room, cutlery, glasses and mugs, mini fridge and kettle and some coffee. The beds are super comfortable. The games in the room were great we all had fun with connect 4! After the kids went to bed we did too with the TV on quietly to wind down with a glass of wine and the view out the window which you could never grow tired of. Towels were fluffy and great. The bathroom floor was quite slippery so do be aware of that (room 1 at least although I imagine they mirror) You're only 25mins away from Donegal town, Glenties and Killybegs, all of which are lovely to visit and eat/drink in. Kilcoolney Dolmen, Assaranca Waterfall (free) and Maghera caves (€4 parking at Granny's) and Ardara Distillery (€26.50 for tasting tour) are a must see, just make sure you time the tide right for the caves. The kids ran around outside happily as there's plenty of space. There is also a play park within walking distance although do be aware the area is very hilly, it's up a mountain.
Really nice room. Well designed with separate areas as there were three of us. Very comfortable beds.
There were knives and forks but plates would have been helpful.
Lovely little spot well positioned in Ardara (not far from the centre and amenities). Well presented in general and host kept in touch in the run up to the stay. It's not our first time in Ardara so we're well accustomed to the local bars and restaurants hospitality.
Unfortunately there was a smell to the property which we put down to it possibly being a bit fusty. We opened the windows to air the place out a bit yet upon return from the local shop it was still present. Once we came back from eating out for the evening the smell persisted and eventually at 9pm we decided to leave. To be fair to the proprietor, we didn't report this, if we had I'm sure we'd of been taken care of. Yet at that point it was getting late and we decided to go home.
Comfy beds, well equipped, good location, lovely view, outdoor sitting area 😊
Squiky doors, not very soundproof
There were no breakfast facilities. In some websites it is advertised as a bed and breakfast. It offers bed only
As above, no breakfast. The property is a little drab and the room a little dreary. Didn't meet anyone, which surprised me for a rural location. The room was clean and tidy.
We stayed in room 2 which was gorgeous. We had a separate area with double bed with doorway to another area with bunks and table area. There was also an en-suite shower room. Our room was modern and tastefully decorated, we were very pleasantly surprised! The view from our room, right from the bed, was straight over the mountains. If you sit outside on the chairs you get the full view of both the mountains and the sea, stunning. There was a self check in system so we didn’t meet our host, but her communication throughout the stay was Evans she was very helpful. As stated, there are. No cooking facilities, but there was a fridge, kettle and tea and coffee. There are cups, glasses and cutlery but no plates or bowls. We were touring on motorcycles and there was plenty of room to store and dry all of our gear. Ardara town is lovely with lots of gift shops and pubs. There is a garage and a general store a few minutes walk away for supplies with the main town about 5 minutes walk. Would definitely recommend this property and be delighted to return.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like, but a few things to consider! The property was a bit tricky to find as there was no signage, we weren’t sure we had found the correct place! There are thankfully 2 entrances-the lane via the community centre that we were advised to take was very difficult with motorcycles and we got stuck several times as it was very steep and stoney. There is a tarmac lane just opposite Ardara Autoparts on Hillhead Road which we used once we found it. The carpark is also quite steep but we parked bikes under our window which was on the flat. As others have said, there are no plates or bowls, but we bought variety boxes of cereal and poured the milk straight in and that kept us going until getting breakfast out! Others have noted that en-suite is a bit dated, but it was very clean.
The room was excellent and had everything we needed for our stay. It was only a five minute walk down to Ardara and the views were spectacular
The shower was very fiddly to get to a reasonable temperature and was extremely hot if the setting moved but with a new temperature control it would be great
The property was centrally located and the decor was stylish.
There is was a bit of an issue during check in when our room was still in a mess from previous visitors the day before . Mary was helpful and let us stay in the upstairs rooms. These rooms were cold and the shower water took ages to heat up. No towels and no basic amenities like bins either
The rooms were really nice and cosy . The view from the rooms and even from the beds were beautiful . We got 4 rainy days out of 4 days staying but anyway it was great
There is no plates but I new it from previous reviews so I took it some.
clean, beds were really good
the shower is not good, no pressure and the warm water runs out quickly
Fab place, decor amazing, bed so comfy. 100% Recommend
Nothing
Room was cosy and spacious
Shower could be better and maybe plates in room or breakfast included
The Lodge was beautifully decorated. It was very clean &warm, with amazing views, both mountains &sea.
We couldn't regulate the shower temperature. It was either too hot or too cold. And would be handy to have some plates along with the cutlery & glasses already provided.
Beautiful location and the view of the mountains
It was warm and clean
Convenience and tea/coffee/fridge
Nothing
Views clean and warm
This place was a great find, huge room, cosy and comfortable. Great value for money and a short walk from the centre of Ardara. Easy check-in and check out, Mary was available for anything we needed
Efforts byhosr wirh little lights, decent coffee and wee nibbles left
No kitchen facilities, but that was advertised.
Abbey Lodge was perfect, has absolutely everything you need. Clean, comfortable and quiet. Looking forward to coming back. Communication with host Mary was great.
No issues at all.
Abby Lodge is a lovely place to stay for families. It is not the easiest to find in darkness, but when you do find it, it has all you need. Our boys loved the bunk bed and the board games. And at the end I needed to hide the cookie jar. It is well equipped and really suitable for a few nights stay to discover Donegal.
There could be also some plates around ... otherwise there will be crumbs everywhere.
Very nice accommodation in a great and peaceful location. We loved it!
Shower
Cosy little place
Very spacious room with all modern comfs like iron, first aid kit, extra woolen duvets and cushions. Very nice decoration. Toilet and shower facilities perfect, enough toilet paper. On spot reply by email from host. Fab vieuws. Tea/coffee making facilities great incl cookies and a mini fridge. Dog-friendly & parking in front. Lovely outdoor picnic area.
For us it was a bit too warm at a certain time but that is more a plus than a min as we prefer cold in general.
Serenity
No slippers for guests, location far from donegal town, and public or private transport quite difficult to arrange
