Reviewed Aug 17, 2026We really enjoyed our stay here. The house was clean, comfortable and felt very homely, with everything we needed for a relaxing couple of nights. The location was definitely one of our favourite things about it — there are plenty of restaurants and cafés nearby, so it was really convenient to go out for food and coffee. Assaranca Waterfall is also only around a 10-minute drive away, which was a lovely bonus for exploring the area. Overall, it was a great base for our stay.

Realizamos una reserva el 14 de febrero para alojarnos el 11 de julio. Cuatro días antes de la fecha de llegada, cuando ya habíamos iniciado el viaje, la propietaria se puso en contacto con nosotros para comunicarnos que cancelaba la reserva porque había alojado a otras personas. Al tratarse de un sábado de julio y siendo un grupo de cuatro personas, nos vimos obligados a buscar alojamiento de urgencia, terminando en dos habitaciones individuales en casas distintas, a unos 50 minutos de Ardara (en Letterkenny) y a un precio superior. El trato por parte de la propietaria fue completamente inaceptable. Consideramos que un alojamiento que actúa de esta manera no debería figurar en Booking.

Reviewed May 1, 2026Arlene was a great host. She helped us with deciding on what we wanted to see. Her cafe in town was excellent. We had breakfast one morning and stopped by for pastries for a hike. We had her prepare a dinner for us, that was delicious. Favorite hike was at Slieve League, with visit to Silver Strand Beach. Maghera caves, and Glengesh Pass are amazing. We loved meeting Eddie Doherty, Ireland’s famous weaver who will show you how he still hand weaves his beautiful tweeds. The Corby house is the perfect spot for walking to town and very quiet and relaxing. We would love to come back!

La ducha, como somos españoles no sabíamos cómo funciona al final lo averiguamos y hacia un ruido como si estuvieramos pasando una aspiradora fue divertido la verdad

Reviewed Jul 8, 2025The house is in a lovely location and you can walk into town for food, shopping, and traditional Irish music nightly. Absolutely make it a priority to have breakfast or lunch at the Corby tearoom and meet the wonderful owner. Her baked treats are outstanding!
We are American and could not figure out how to turn on the shower in the en suite bedroom. But the other shower served our needs.

Plenty of clean towels and lovely comfortable beds. The host was extremely attentive and helped us with everything. We visited her cafe in the town in the morning and had amazing food there too. I would recommend to anyone and we hope to be back in the future!

Reviewed Oct 3, 2023Very comfortable, clean and spacious. Great location. Nearby pubs/ shops. Good base for travelling in the area. Glenveagh national park 1hr away. Maghera beach stunning. On the Wild Atlantic way.
Lounge could do with some more lamps to make more cosy. We just borrowed from spare rooms! Showers worked but quite noisy, think not got long in this world so may need changing soon.

Reviewed Sep 1, 2023Our stay at Corby house exceeded expectations. The house was beautifully decorated and had everything we needed and more. A wee home from home. Being able to have our dogs with us and a secure garden for them to enjoy was a bonus. It is a 5 minute walk to the town centre and the coastal drives are beautiful. We will definitely stay at Corby House again.

It took a while to figure out the shower in the main bathroom but we got there in the end!

Missing corkscrew but this was rectified straight away. So all in all a minor inconvenience.
