Riad Houdou

L’accueil était vraiment au rendez-vous du début jusqu’à la fin. Le dîner au Riad était délicieux. Notre chambre était parfaite et bien propre. Piscine super agréable. Le personnel (dont Abdel en particulier et le jeune souriant) sont exceptionnels et sont très bienveillants. Le Riad est aussi bien situé au cœur de la Médina

beautiful property right in the heart of the medina. easy access to the taxi rank ( 5 min walk) and at the sweet spot of being in the medina but not being overwhelmed by the surrounding souks. staff are excellent and the property is very nicely decorated. the terrace pool is also nice The team at the front desk are fantastic and give a really good briefing on arrival.

There is a strange smell in the property. we were told that it was due to nearby tanneries but it was specifically in our room, so likely a air conditioning issue. the AC was also very weak compared to the other room we rented. The rooms would benefit with some dedicated tables for the kettle and crockery as the supplied one is very small . the pool area also had a unpleasant smell, which we again were told was due to the nearby tanneries. Not sure it is the Riad's fault if their explanation is correct Wifi is slow but I suspect it is due to the nature of the Riad (solid walls etc) I am hoping that this feedback would be taken constructively as this is really a lovely property in a great location with great staff. For the price, the above issues do become more noticeable

Riad Houdou is an exceptional property, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, visiting from the UK, and would highly recommend it. The entire team are very welcoming and hospitable, in particular Abdel who took the time at check-in to give us a lot of useful information regarding the Medina and help us throughout our trip. No request was too big or small. We were lucky enough to stay in the junior suite which was well equipped, spotless, a decent size plus had its own private stunning small courtyard and pool. Conveniently located to explore the Medina on foot, it was a quiet oasis away from the occasionally hectic surroundings and peak daytime heat, feeling very safe and secure. There are lots of other communal spaces/break-out areas to chill out in with a few nice touches - ice cold filtered water dispensers, board games and a resident tortoise and cat! The is also a beautiful rooftop terrace which is a nice area to relax in and to have a dip in the pool. Breakfast is served up here, which is a mix of continental style but also cooked local pancakes/eggs. Everything was tasty and fresh. Thank you team Riad Houdou!

Adorámos a nossa estadia no Riad Houdou! Toda a equipa foi extremamente simpática, atenciosa e sempre disponível, fazendo-nos sentir em casa desde o primeiro dia. As instalações são muito bonitas, confortáveis e bem cuidadas, e a piscina é perfeita para relaxar depois de passear por Marraquexe. O SPA foi uma excelente experiência, especialmente o Hamam Royal e a Massagem Relaxante, que recomendamos sem hesitar. O pequeno-almoço também merece destaque, com vários produtos típicos tradicionais, sempre frescos e deliciosos. Sem dúvida, um sítio a repetir e que recomendamos a quem visita Marraquexe!

Não há nada que não tivessemos gostado. Superou as nossas expectativas.

Le Riad est magnifique, très propre, le personnel est aux petits soins et vous explique bien comment se déplacer dans le Medina. Le petit déjeuner est copieux et varié. A notre arrivée nous avons eu du mal à trouver le Riad mais une fois que nous les avons contacté ils nous ont tout de suite envoyé du personnel nous récupérer.

We had wonderful time in this beautiful Riad. The staff were so kind and helpful they make you feel really special. We had breakfast and dinner and the food was amazing. The last day they even made the breakfast a bit earlier for us because our flight was early in the morning. We loved the star of the Riad - Mbarka. I am 100% recommending this place.

Location, kindness of staff. Nice thick towels and soft bed linen. Manager spent a lot of time orienting us to the hotel and especially to the market and how to get back to the hotel.

Beds are very hard and uncomfortable. Wish washcloths were provided. Dinner is very tame. I was expecting more spice.

Dès que nous sortions du Ryad nous étions confronté à la misère. Et cela m a posé beaucoup de problème c était compliqué de voir toutes ces personnes dans une telle précarité

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour au riad. Nous avons été très bien accueilli avec des conseils pour notre séjour. Les espaces communs, et notamment la terrasse sur le toit avec tables, transats et le bassin chauffée étaient très agréables ! L'emplacement est bon, pas très loin du souk.

My friend and I couldn't have asked for more from the Riad building itself and all the staff! Hot showers, comfortable beds, dark room with shutters, air-conditioning, great breakfast- loved the little yellow, fluffy pancakes! Nothing was too much trouble. With WhatsApp number given, could call any time with any question. British sense of humour understood 😅😅

Un beau riad, c'est aussi et surtout une super équipe. Abdel et ses collègues ont été aux petits soins. La terrasse, la piscine, le spa, les repas et les conseils. ....tout etait parfait...

The Riad is a quiet oasis in a bustling part of the town. Every thing is walkable into the Medina and Souks. The bedrooms are comfortable and breakfast on the terrace was lovely. The best part though was the hospitality from the staff who made us feel so welcome - like family returning home even though it was our first stay. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to help us quickly orientate and get the best from our visit. Thank you Abdul and team!

The only downside which is not really an issue, is that it is along quite a long path which is quiet at night.

Ottima la colazione, camera spaziosa e dotata di tutti i comfort, riad curato e situato in ottima posizione, vicino alla piazza principale ma in una zona tranquilla. Più di tutto ho peró apprezzato la gentilezza, la cortesia e la disponibilità dello staff.

Staff is welcoming and full of small attention. The location is a bit away of the action, which is at night, a good thing, since the medina is lively. Breakfast is very good. We had diner at the riad one night and it was delicious.

Mattress, at least in our room, was not comfortable and very hard. Wifi was weak (in the room).

Beautiful little Riad with about 10 rooms Super nice staff providing you with all information you need about your stay in Marrakesch Rooftop pool, lots of green and beautifully decorated Our room was in ground floor, typical riad style. We loved it! Our stay couldn’t be better. From there only about 15 Min walk to ref main place and center.

Please note there are many stairs, no elevator and some rooms/doors are very small. For us no problem but might be for other people.

The staff were fantastic - friendly and informative. The Riad itself is lovely - great food and really lovely decor all around. The breakfasts was delicious and we enjoyed dinner in local restaurants, only a 5 mins walk from the Riad. The recommended restaurants were stunning so appreciate the recommendation from the Riad's staff. Would happily return to Riad Houdou

Everything about the place. Really felt like staying in a Riad. Entry itself was so nice different feeling. And the price?? Wow EUR 216 for 2 nights for couple. Incredible value. Manager was excellent as well and also the staff excellent. English was good as well.

Small distance walk from drop off area and it goes straight through the market place with all kinds of stuff being sold. We reached on a rainy day, so obviously wasn't the cleanest walk. But hey, it's the old city area. With the warmth and culture, we also felt the daily chores can be challenging on odd days.

It was the best Riad we have stayed at during our trip in Morocco. Extremely friendly and helpful stuff. Location was perfect, close to the main attractions. Tasty breakfast that has been served on beautiful rooftop. Bathroom was clean, beds were comfy. Riad was well marked and easy to find by someone who is new to Marrakech.

Nearby is tannery, sometime you can smell it once you're on the rooftop

Vriendelijke personeel, op een goede locatie en de aankleding van het riad is heel sfeervol en leuk. Het ontbijt is ook heerlijk!! Glutenvrij geen probleem en fantastische koffie! Eric en Didier zijn hele warme en betrokken eigenaren die je het graag naar de zin willen maken en steeds voor je klaarstaan. Kortom: Bijzondere en enorm leuke ervaring om hier te verblijven.

Enige minpuntje is dat de 1-persoonsbedden wat ons betreft iets te smal en te hard zijn.

No alcohol. This goes for most Riads in the old town so it's not a complaint, just that a drink by the pool would have been nice.

Eric and Didier and the rest of the team at Riad Houdou were outstanding. The Riad is furnished exquisitely, as you would expect from someone with Eric's previous career. Nothing was too much effort for the team. The welcome from Eric, and information he gave us when we arrived was extremely useful, and ensured we got to know the city quickly. The room itself was beautifully appointed (we had a junior suite) and the breakfasts were delicious, homemade, and different everyday. There is a sun terrace at the top, with a lovely pool, if you are tired from the souks. We loved everything about it and wish we could have stayed longer. Thanks very much to the whole team at Riad Houdou.

Wunderschönes Riad. Eine Oase im trubeligen Marrakesh.

Ottima posizione, personale gentilissimo, colazione abbondante con portata principale ogni giorno diversa, yogurt con cereali tostati, 2 diverse marmellate, miele, burro, crema al formaggio, spremuta d’arancia, tè o caffe e uova strapazzate. Piscina sul Rooftop piccolina ma elegante. Varie sdraio con ombrelloni. In ogni sdraio troverete cappellino ricamato e cuscino! In stanza oltre al set di cortesia danno anche ciabattine e teli bagno. La nostra camera (camera Fez) era piccolina ma super accogliente! Possibilità di cenare in Riad. Abbiamo cenato il giorno del mio compleanno.. super carini, mi hanno lasciato un piccolo portachiavi e fatto spegnere le candeline! Cena molto buona! Ne è valsa la pena! Ho anche prenotato un massaggio rilassante, la ragazza è stata bravissima. Post massaggio mi è stato offerta una bevanda rinfrescante!

lo mejor el zumo de naranja ya que es natural ,pero ofrecen muy poca variedad y todos los dias lo mismo Ubicacion buena a 13 mi andando hasta la medina ,personal muy amable pero lo mas fue el Haman que nos dimos un 10 por la chica ,lo mejor de todo la piscina privada que teniamos en nuestra habitacion se agradece al llegar despues de un dia tan caluroso ,la persona que lo regenta tambien muy bien

habitacion muy cara para lo que ofrece ,el baño tan apenas no tiene luz .enchufes escasean ,los colchones muy duros la pared se podia dar un toque de pintura no es agradable echarte a dormir y tener al lado la pared asi en general se paga por la piscina privada porque hay otras alternativas de riad no tan costosos

Magnifique établissement au cœur de la médina ! La chambre avec le bassin privatif était sublime, merci encore pour le surclassement. Aussi, les espaces communs ainsi que la piscine et les transats sur le toit sont superbes ! Le petit déjeuner était 100% fait maison et était délicieux !

RIAD HOUDOU is an oasis in the middle of Marrakesh medina. Highly recommendable.

The main reason we chose this riad was the room with a private pool we had booked. It is absolutely beautiful and intimate, with the private pool being the highlight of the room. We had a wonderful time here from the moment we checked in until the moment we left. The hosts were incredibly kind and friendly, they gave us recommendations, useful tips, and plenty of help throughout our stay. After spending two nights here, we left for a desert trip, and they were kind enough to store our luggage until we returned. We had dinner at the riad and absolutely loved the food, the service, and the atmosphere. We also tried the spa services: hammam and massage, which were an amazing and truly relaxing experience. We really enjoyed the location as well, being in the Medina, where we could fully experience the authentic Marrakech vibe. A truly beautiful place with incredibly hospitable people. I 100% recommend it and would absolutely love to come back.

We had the most amazing stay at Riad Houdou! The riad is small, which is a real advantage, with personalized service, beautiful and carefully designed décor, and a super cozy atmosphere. The location is perfect — just a short walk to the main square and the Medina, and there are fantastic restaurants very close by. The room with a pool is incredible and absolutely worth it, with a very comfortable bed, spotless sheets, and excellent hot water pressure. We also had the best chicken tagine I’ve ever eaten in Marrakech here, at a great price! I’ve stayed in several riads in Marrakech before, but this one is by far the best. The staff and the owners are outstanding — thank you for such an amazing experience. We’ll definitely be back!

Spotlessly clean, tranquil and beautiful to sit inside and unwind. The terrace was on two floors with a wonderful pool at the top. Extremely tastefully decorated and great location. The Riad made every effort to make sure our stay was as smooth as possible, attention to detail was fantastic.

Everything really, from the room to the staff. Details are present at all time in this paradise. The staff is so friendly, attentive, professional, welcoming. The check in was an absolute experience, they take you to the table and offer you tea, after a while, when you had rested then they go through the admin work and explain you about the city and give you many tips to explore the city in the best way possible. Breakfast was delicious, the rose petals smell in the room was amazing, the common areas are so comfortable and makes you feel like in a oasis in the middle of the desert, the chirping from the birds will make you up in the morning, no need alarms! I would like to make a special mention to Hassam and Abdell from the front desk team, but also to the concierge boy in the evening, very attentive. Also to the owners who were around and always having a quick chat to make sure we were having a great experience. Keep it up guys, you definitely made our experience in Marrakesh unforgettable. The riad was absolutely stunning inside, every detail for guests was very well planned and the rooftop area with pool and breakfast area was beautiful. Really helpful for my daughter and I to get an introduction to Marrakesh when we first arrived with some tips/advice, together with mint tea and pastries, lovely touch. We would definitely like to return one day!
