Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The guesthouse is in a great location with a short walk into the town centre. Room was spacious and beds comfortable. Alex was a great host and gave us lots of great recommendations for our trip. Excellent value for money!

Our room was completely modernised & clean. The beds were comfortable & the free Wi-Fi was an added bonus. The host was very friendly & extremely helpful.

I would have liked s mini fridge in the room to keep my drinks chilled. Despite this we had a great stay & would definitely return.

Honestly it was great overall. I would just give a warning about parking - its quite tight as you access the car park down the passage to the right of the guest house so if you have a bigger car with sensors it will probably shout at you whilst you drive down it. There was nowhere to hang my clothes in the bathroom - a couple of S hooks on the towel rail would have been great. Not a big deal though. Bedside tables ever so slightly sticky.

What a beautiful place and perfect location for Stratford. 4 minutes walk into the heart of things. Immaculately clean, extremely spacious room, comfortable bed and very quiet. Alex was a very helpful host and catered for my Gluten intolerance for the tea tray.

Really nice property and location. We stayed in the family room and there was plenty of space for two adults and two children. Pascal was a charming and welcoming host and put us at ease straight away. If you’re visiting Stratford you won’t go wrong staying here. You can park your car and go and easily walk to everywhere.

The road outside is quite busy and the room gets noisy if you leave the window open. But it’s not bad during the nightime.

We stayed in a family suite on the ground floor, which was very convenient as we could easily access it directly from the parking lot. The suite has a comfortable master bedroom with an interconnecting room, making it ideal for a family stay. The location and easy access made our stay very convenient and comfortable. The host was very friendly and welcoming, and kindly recommended some nearby attractions and restaurants, which was very helpful. Overall, we had a comfortable and pleasant stay and really appreciated the host’s warm hospitality.

The family studio ( 2 bedrooms) was perfect for the end of our trip. Car parked next to our room. Friendly and accommodating, nothing was a problem for Alex. Suggestions for meals and walks were good and much appreciated. Easy access to the town.

Nuestro alojamiento tenía dos habitaciones dobles, cada una con su televisión y un baño para las dos. No hay servicio de desayuno pero en la habitación tienes te, café, chocolate y galletas surtidas. Te hacen la limpieza del baño y te cambian las toallas a diario. Era amplio, cómodo, con camas muy confortables y estaba excepcionalmente limpio. Tenía la plaza de aparcamiento delante de la puerta y eso es muy práctico. Está situado en el centro de la ciudad, en una zona muy tranquila, muy bien ubicado para ver toda la ciudad. El propietario, muy amable, está pendiente de todo lo que puedas necesitar. Sin duda muy recomendable, repetiría seguro.

The property was ideally located for most of the Stratford-upon-Avon highlights. The beds were comfortable. The shower was great. It was a wonderful place.

Het zag er goed uit en Pascal was enorm aardig en behulpzaam. Met goede tips over Stratford.

We sliepen aan de voorkant en hoorden daardoor het verkeer. Dit viel mijn man op en hij is een lichte slaper. De kinderen en ik hadden er geen last van.

We were greeted by Pascal, who was extremely warm, welcoming and also made us all laugh with his lovely sense of humour. He showed us to our room and gave us all the information required and told us how to get down to the RSC theatre and what was available in the area. The room was very clean and well appointed, the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was spotless. It's close enough to the railway station and the RSC to walk to both, so the location is great. I would definitely stay there again, if I were to return to Stratford-upon-Avon.

Das Familienzimmer und Badezimmer sind sehr schön gestaltet, sehr sauber und komfortabel. Wir haben auf der Durchreise eine Nacht verbracht und fanden es sehr erholsam. Am Morgen konnten wir uns Tee/Kaffee machen, was wir auch sehr geschätzt haben. Danke!

De uitzonderlijke vriendelijkheid van de host Alex. Met alles heel behulpzaam, ook met zaken die niet rechtstreeks met ons verblijf hadden te maken. Prima advies over wat er in Stratford te beleven is. Ook haar restaurantadvies was uitgebreid en correct. We love it!

Eigenlijk niets speciaals dat ons tegenviel. De kamers zijn beperkt in grootte maar dat kan je verwachten van een Guest House midden in een stad.

Reservation without breakfast. The host was very kind regarding my requests and to provide information.

The single room I was given is on the 2nd floor of the guest house. With luggage, it was not convenient, although the staff helped carry it upstairs. The room has a low ceiling, no AC, with just a fan, and the carpet makes it even warmer. Lucky that temps dropped at night. My fault not to have noticed these details before booking.

Alex is a wonderful host. She gave us lots of great recommendations for nearby restaurants, cafés and places to take a walk, which was incredibly helpful as it was our first time visiting. Accommodation is clean&tidy with comfortable bedding and generous selection of tea, coffee and snacks provided. Although this property isn’t large and doesn’t look overly fancy in the photos like some other Airb&b, once you stay here, you can really feel the care and thought the host has put into every detail. It feels warm, welcoming and comfortable, making it one of the most enjoyable places we’ve stayed during our trip around the UK -We travelled around the UK as a family of 4 on a 3weeks road trip from London to Edinburgh, staying in ten different accommodations along the way. Well done, Alex!

The parking space is right next to the accommodation, making it very convenient. However, the driveway is a little narrow, so it took a bit of getting used to the first time, but after parking once, it shouldn’t be an issue.

Our room had a side aspect and looked over the driveway/access to the carpark at the back.

Very clean generally, bed was very clean and comfortable. Towels supervsoft and were changed after first night , we only stayed two.nAlex was 👌 super helpful. Location was perfect, very close to all the tourist locations. No noise from other guests. A fridge was available for guest use.

The water flow in the shower was a bit unpredictable and the signgreat outside advertised breakfast which is no longer available, but a 20% discount was available at a specific Breakfast Cafe. .

Alex was amazing. She went above and beyond helping us with recommendations to visit as well as good places to eat. She made us feel so welcomed!

The location was very central to most things via foot including the train station, the town, river and Anne Hathaways Cottage. The host is a very easy to communicate with and gave so many helpful recommendations for places to eat and activities in town.

Our room was very comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything that we needed for our overnight stay. Our host was lovely and very easy to contact. I am vegan and she left oat milk and a vegan biscuit for me on the tea tray which is something that I don't usually find. The property is a short walk away from the town centre and the RSC - it took us less than ten minutes. Breakfast isn't provided but our host advised us on where to go including a place that gives discount if you are a guest at Salamander.

We have stayed here before and it is one of our favourite places to stay when we come to the theatre in Stratford! It always has everything we need and the communication pre and during our visit is excellent. The location is excellent too - just a short walk to the theatre!!

Excellent service, the owner, Alex was fantastic with exceptional help and advice clearly knows the area and restaurants nearby very well. The room was beautiful, with lovely, clean bathroom very cosy and welcoming felt like a home away from home. The location to the town centre was perfect. I would highly recommended The Salamander Guest House and I will booking in to stay there again. Everything was perfect, the service, the room, the location and well exceeded my expectations.

Alex was fantastic, very freiendly, helpful and informative.

We didn’t have breakfast at the Guest House but had 20%off at a nearby cafe. It was very good mainly due to the variety of dishes on offer. The venue was v good - there are plenty of things to do in Stratford & we particularly enjoyed a 30 minute boat trip with maps & audio.

The limited parking in Stratford which is only to be expected in a popular tourist spot.

Host Alex was so welcoming and kind throughout my stay. It was wonderful to get a personal tour of the best places to eat and drink, including some budget-friendly spots, as well as recommendations for things to see and do in the city. The room was tidy, comfortable and modern.

Our short stay

This is a lovely guest house right in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon. The ground floor family rooms were ideal for us travelling with two children. We also used the lounge in the main house to eat a picnic tea one night. It was great to be able to easily walk around the town from here and to get to the theatre quickly.

Alex, the host was so friendly and helpful! She had the best tips for making the most of our trip. Location was perfect, and the beds were so comfortable we didn’t want to leave!
