Lovely stay. We only stayed for one night, but it had everything we needed. Super close to the beach, restaurants, shops, and even the railway and bus station. The lady running the place was lovely. Room was clean, and the small kitchen and dining area came in handy. If you’re staying here, do visit Turtle Beach in the morning. It’s about a 10-minute walk away and a nice spot to see and feed the big turtles.

The railway is literally next to the property, so expect some train sounds.

До основных мест в городе рукой подать, за расположение жирный плюс. Рядом железная дорога, по которой ездят и гудят поезда, но это небольшая проблема, если у вас не самый чуткий сон во всем мире. Совет путешественникам: тук-тукам при заказе в приложении PickMe всегда задавайте точку посадки на Galle Road, иначе есть шанс, что он приедет по другую сторону от железной дороги. The villa's hostess was very friendly and helpful, and she even accompanied us on a taxi ride to pick us up for a mangrove tour. The location is convenient for exploring the city's main attractions. There is a railway nearby, with trains passing by and making noise, but this may be a minor inconvenience if you have sensitive sleep patterns. Travelers' tip: When ordering a tuk-tuk on the PickMe app, always specify the landing point as Galle Road, otherwise there's a chance it will arrive on the other side of the railway.

Прекрасный дом за свою стоимость! Очень радушная хозяйка. Очень чисто, есть все (кухня, холодильник, кондиционер). До океана 2-3 мин. Поезда рядом, но не мешают совершенно. Вода с хорошим напором + есть бойлер с горячей водой. Расположение отличное👍🏻 Хочется сюда вернуться! Кондиционеры за отдельную плату.

Останавливаюсь у Нади второй год подряд — и это лучшее место! Двор очень чистый и ухоженный. Локация идеальная: до ближайшего пляжа всего 2 минуты, а до пляжа с черепашками — 10 минут спокойным шагом. Рядом рыбный и фруктовый рынки, магазины и автостанция. Совсем рядом проходит железная дорога, но это абсолютно не мешает: поезда ездят редко, ночью их нет, а днем я все равно на прогулках или на пляже. Нади — невероятно доброжелательная хозяйка, всегда поможет с любым вопросом. Огромное спасибо за гостеприимство: меня без проблем заселяли ночью, а еще угощали потрясающей домашней едой (как любитель ланкийской кухни, я в восторге!). В комнатах всегда чисто, есть всё необходимое: полотенца и любая кухонная утварь. Очень рекомендую!

Het was totaal niet hygiënisch, overal waren mieren en er kwamen zelfs twee kakkerlakken uit de gootsteen gekropen. De wifi heeft voor geen moment bij ons gewerkt. En de doucht was koud. Ook kan de deur naar het balkon niet dicht. Het bed was hard(persoonlijke voorkeur).

Super freundliche Besitzerin, hat uns jeden Tag gefragt ob alles in Ordnung ist. Sehr sauber und vor allem ein sehr großes Zimmer mit Küche Ausstattung ein kleine cauch und sogar ein Tisch und Kühlschrank falls man sich selbst Getränke oder Essen zubereiten möchte. Die Lage passt auch super, Mann ist direkt am Strand aber auch direkt an der Straße wo Man alles findet. Selbst der Zug der direkt daneben vorbei fährt, war für uns ein Highlight allerdings wenn man geräuschempfindlich ist, sollte sich man es überlegen, und hat nicht gestört.

Price performance absolutely great! The hostess was very nice, made a lot of effort and was very friendly.

It was a very cosy, comfortable and clean property where we had our own living room, kitchen, bathroom and two bedrooms. Having space to spread out and chill was very nice. The host was very kind and easy to communicate with. Great value for money!

Property is located right next to the train line so if the noise bothers you, you may not like it here, but we found it mostly fine!

Ideal for a longer stay, perfect for a few days too. The kitchen, fridge, table and chairs are a bonus! Located away from the busy main road we enjoyed watching the birds and squirrels in the trees from our balcony. The apartment is above the family house, the family were very kind and discreet but there if you need anything. We could come and go unnoticed. Train lovers get the bonus of passing trains during the daytime. There were plenty of power points around the room that isn’t always the case in Sri Lanka. The bed was large and comfortable.

The room is large with a big bed, table, chairs, small cooker with cutlery etc and a kettle. Quiet fan. Mozzie net. Patios front and back with lots of windows to catch the sea breeze. Water pressure in the shower was good. Property is not exactly beachfront and doesn't have a sea view but it's only a short walk to a safe swimming beach. It is next to the train line, but the trains are infrequent and don't run all night, the 1st one is about 4am and passes quickly. The area has a village feel to it with people sitting and having conversations across the tracks! Everyone is very friendly and we really liked our experience at The Freedom. It's super close to town centre too.

Great room in Hikkaduwa, very spacious and clean and although no AC there is enough airflow from windows either side of the room that you don’t need it. Owners are really nice and also will do a bargain on laundry

The trains are earth shattering loud - they run once an hour finishing at 9pm and starting again at 4am. Not a reflection on home stay obviously but it is something to be aware of when booking

Spent five nights here and really enjoyed my stay. Well maintained comfortable rooms within minutes from Hikkaduwa beach. Property is owned by the sweetest family you could ever meet who even helped me when I was a little sick. The room is very close to the train tracks but reflected in the affordable rates. Fully recommend the stay and hope to return.

The lady is very nice. We had to leave early from the previous accommodation so wrote a message if we can check in earlier. The lady was very nice to prepare the room for us quickly. This room is equipped with everything. From fridge to cutlery and plates. So sad we could not stay more.
