Carnt really comment on the hotel, as we booked this 5 months in advance, travelled over 200 miles, to find out on our arrival the hotel had CLOSED down

The fact is it was CLOSE down, and still charged me for this

Cannot write a review on the hotel as it was closed without notice when I arrived. I had to look for alternative accommodation on the night I arrived.

DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE! I messaged them to update them of my arrival time. The following day, while an hour away from their I received a message telling me our booking had been cancelled, saying Booking.com had contacted other guests but I must have slipped through the net!

Lochlan gave us a very good reception. The hotel was very homely and clean

There is no food served in the hotel. However, the hotel location allows easy reach to shops

the room was decorated in a grey colour ! why grey😂 would be so much nicer with better colours.

There is no ability to buy food or drinks at the hotel, but it did have a kitchen in the luxury suite.

The attic room was lovely and cosy, nicely furnished and the bed was really comfortable. I had a comfortable evening and the tv was a good size. I slept really well.

I was disappointed to discover the shower didn’t work in the morning, despite turning on the electric switch and turning the dials. The room was generally clean but it looked like the fan had leaked yellow liquid below (at least I hope that’s what it was!). It was quite a lot to be missed on a regular clean. The kettle switch was also temperamental.

2nd stay and just as immaculate and clean as my first stay a year ago.

Friendly lad checked me in and showed me my room, clean, smart room, free wifi, no noise, big carpark, nice place overall, will probably stay here again.

There wasn't really anything to complain about, cleaning lady nearly walked in on me in the morning but not an issue.

I have been here before I’m from Stafford so know the area, the rooms I’ve experienced are very quiet, there is a kitchen for guests use too and a car park (even though first come first served)

The bed although good had a huge dip in the middle and was a little uncomfortable but not dreadful, it could be much improved. The carpet could do with a deep clean, as became clear when wearing white socks

Considerdered Good Value for money after all because of what the Stopover was & ment too me...

Abbey Hotel is a lovely place to stay. I stayed overnight in a warm and cosy flat with a nice bedroom, well equipped kitchen, hot shover and kind and very helpful manager who kindly checked me in when I arrived a bit earlier than the official check-in time, was very helpful and kind. I'd like to say many-many thanks!

Everything was wonderful. Maybe the kitchen window's frame is require a bit of adjustment to make it sealed tightly, but it is just a minor thing. Everything else was great.

Lovely quiet rooms, with comfortable beds. Well stocked with tea, coffee.. and the fan was wonderful!! Spotlessly clean, very easy to relax after a long day.

Some of the bathroom fittings were loose in both rooms. The stairs up to our rooms were rather steep and narrow.

A real friendly welcome to the hotel.

Hotelier was particularly kind and helpful and I felt like he made a special effort for me. I travelled by bike and he gave me a room with a bath so that I could soak after my long ride, and he made sure I could keep my bike somewhere secure. The room was clean, well-appointed, and appeared recently decorated.

Could have done with breakfast.

As a halfway point from Glasgow to London, Stafford was perfect. The Abbey provided a comfortable room with a small kitchette which saved us eating out, a bonus being on a limited budget

Great hotel, one of the best I have stayed at. We went for the Apartment Option so we had a kitchenette, separate seating area, HUGE TV, fridge, toaster etc - everything we needed. Its about a 20 minute walk into Stafford though but we knew this before booking. Booked in by a really nice, friendly staff member who showed us to our room - excellent all round.

I would like highly appreciate the host manager for very welcoming access and showing around for very first time. Facilities around the hotel are very good however needs more updating.

Bed not sure why but it was really uncomfortable. I did not like so many doors access to the room however other than is really decent place. Just needs more updating. Also I would not recommend staying there on Friday night as it does gets so loud when people having drink.

This Hotel is like home from home. It is my first choice and the welcome you receive is warm and friendly. On this visit it was particularly busy in the car park and the gentleman at the desk came out with me and directed me to additional parking on site. Very kind and much appreciated on these dark evenings. Beautiful room.

I found the hotel very difficult to find in the dark as the a34 was closed and there was a diversion and I had to go around one way system several times.

The owner was lovely and very helpful and friendly the shower was nice and the bed was super comfy slept like a baby tv was a great size and had Netflix and many more apps available to watch plus free WiFi bit too many steps to walk up when booking ask for a room on a lower floor but would book again if staying in stafford again.

Nice, clean, comfortable. It felt like the furniture and carpets were fairly new. Good size room even for a single bedded room.

Delighted with the facilities, everything i needed and more, very clean even the shower trap that someone had moaned about previously! Welcoming staff at reception, I had worried as no food but the kitchen is available for clients and with everything included in the room I found it sufficient . I've stayed at more expensive hotels with poorer facilities and not as clean so I can highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Stafford area . I'd definitely stay there again.

I couldn't find fault with anything apart from a lift for disabled clients ,but then I suppose they can always stay on the ground floor .

This place is an absolute gem. The guy on reception was friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate and well equipped. Considering the price point, it way exceeded our expectations and to be frank, MUCH better value and presented than Lenny Henry's over 'dynamically priced' mid week offering. The bathroom was the cleanest and nicely appointed we've seen for a long while. Use of a shared kitchen if desired is also a bonus as let's face it, most folks who are paying themselves rarely would add an overpriced hotel breakfast if available anyways.

The Staff were brilliant, welcoming and helpful. The room was fine, comfy double bed, nicely decorated and furnished. The bathroom was modern, clean and had everything you need. The kitchenette in the room was also handy.

Comfortable bed and modern shower but the room was smaller than expected. The gentleman on duty was really helpful.

No atmosphere, compared with a normal hotel. The shared kitchen facilities were practical, but it felt more like a hostel. The land at the rear was tatty. The roadworks were a pain, as the road is one way at present.
