There were renovations going on , hence the property was dusty. The water heater was not working well.

Reviewed Mar 25, 2026It is a perfect stay for temple tours, surrounded by farms and nature, you can go to temples without needing to touch the city traffic. Owner was very accommodative and friendly, Satvik food and dhobi services available on request. You feel the tranquillity, calmness and the comfort of home. Owner speaks Telugu as well, so family members were able to communicate easily.

Reviewed Feb 24, 2026The photos, details are exactly like what we saw on arrival. Vishwanath sir has conceptualized the property very well. Lots of sunlight & indoor/outdoor space. We reached the property at 1:30am & he was awake to welcome us personally. We stayed for 5 days & had a comfortable stay. His wife cooked up tasty meals. We loved the vadas. The food is non oily, fresh & delicious. All they ask is 2 hours notice if you want their meals. If you need information or insights Vishwanath sir is ready to help/assist. You get the privacy you want & they're a bell/phone call away.
Stayed in a couple of homestays. This is top notch. We were comfortable & will stay here in the future. Don't have anything that we didn't like.

Reviewed Sep 14, 2025Le propriétaire est très sympathique et donne d'excellents conseils. Il peut tout organiser pour découvrir la région. L'emplacement est loin du bruit de la ville. Il y a de la nature et c'est tranquille.
Le choix de nourriture est assez limité avec avec peu de légumes et pas de fruits. C'est le seul inconvénient de cet hébergement.

Nothing about the property. Caution - We need to travel around 10-15 mins from main Kumbakonam location to this place(we were aware of this). No nearby shops! But, from this place you could cover almost everything around Kumbakonam, Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam.

Reviewed May 26, 2025Mr.Vishwanath was humble nad polite to welcome us. Made us to feel like home and was so happy and enjoyed our spiritual tour. More than money there are certain aspects that a visitor expects when it comes to a place like this. I recommend for all senior citizens and family to enjoy the vicinity around the Home. People who love to move away from city can enjoy this lovely spot. Kudos to Mr.Vishwanath !

Reviewed May 6, 2025We had a delightful stay at this beautiful homestay during our journey from Chennai to Dhanushkodi. While Kumbakonam itself can be quite congested, this property offers a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle, yet remains conveniently close to the city's main attractions. Our room was exceptionally spacious, providing ample room to relax and unwind. It was well-equipped with all the essential amenities and offered plenty of space to store our belongings. The bathroom was particularly noteworthy for its generous size and impeccable cleanliness. Beyond the comfortable rooms, the common area is a true gem – a beautiful space perfect for unwinding and enjoying a good book. This homestay truly feels like an ideal spot for a relaxing staycation. What truly stood out, however, was the host. His polite and attentive nature made our experience even better. He was always readily available to address any queries we had, making us feel well taken care of. If you're looking for a peaceful and comfortable stay near Kumbakonam, away from the city's congestion but still within easy reach of its attractions, this homestay is an excellent choice. We highly recommend it!

The owner of the place is just great, always ready to help, give you advice and discuss all kinds of topics, find you a reliable means of transport and prepare you a good meal. The room is simple but clean. ( my room has 3 windows with a view of the countryside, which is great ) A very good stopover to visit Kumbakonam

Being a farmhouse type, access is a bit difficult. Transport needs prior planning. The host is exceptional and arranged transport.

Breakfast, lunch and diner were very good. We did not have to cook ourselves. But if you want it, there is kitchen facilities. Friendly owner, he helps you around!

Reviewed Nov 11, 2024Breakfast was awesome, sufficient & homely. Property location was very quiet and serene but reaching this property is little tricky. It’s ok all we need is peaceful stay. If not going anywhere around, this place would be really fantastic one to stay undoubtedly.
No dislikes…everything was intact and basic expectations for the good stay were met, so complaints or suggestions are no more required as of now. Keep it up the same spirit forever. God bless you all.

Reviewed Nov 10, 2024Maha Periyava Kuteeram is a beautifully located Homestay with farms surrounding the space. At the homestay space also the owner has maintained a beautiful decor, interiors styling and the necessary / basic requirement elements like toiletries, cupboard space, and common space and an open kitchen area that can be utilized by guests.
It was a good stay - we do not have any negatives to list. The rooms could have been slightly bigger but for short stay of 1-2 days, its decent.
