We had a lovely ground floor room in this very well renovated house. It is in the actual town of Louisbourg, a delightful place itself, and only a short distance from the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site of Canada (truly worthwhile experience). The breakfast was excellent, the staff friendly, couldn' ask for more.

Immaculate room and enjoyed access to guest sitting area. Particularly liked Waffles, fruit and bacon for breakfast! Friendly hostess. A good location for Louisbourg Fort which is well worth visiting. Lighthouse trail, a short drive away is also a lovely walk. Spoondrift Cafe was very close and served delicious home made Peanut and Chocolate cheesecake.The Bothy at Northstar was a 20 minute walk and had entertainment on the Friday night.

We loved the room (we stayed in the Dauphin room), which had a nice seating area with two comfortable chairs, plus an outdoor balcony with a couple of Adirondack (or Muskoka) chairs. The bed was one of the most comfortable we've had on our 2-week tour of the Maritimes. The neighbourhood is very quiet, but it was a weekend on the nearby seafood operation was not operating. The breakfast was delicious and was served in a bright room with lots of windows. The host was very welcoming and helped us with some dinner recommendations.

The bathroom sink was pretty small but serviceable. We chalked it up to staying in a characterful old home.

Easy to find, lovely house and lived the decor and history, the care and detail the owners have put into the house. Clear instructions to getting checked in and out.

Great base for the lighthouse, it’s a drive to both that and the fort.

Hot breakfast of a waffle with fruit on it was good but it was the only food served for breakfast. Breakfast would have been better if there had been a buffet of cereal options and toast/spreads and cheese or muffins to augment the single serving of hot breakfast (a single waffle with fruit on it). Given the nightly accommodation charge of $200+ and it bills itself as a four star accommodation, guests would feel this B and B was a better value and more aligned with its 4-star billing if breakfast was augmented with the above stars options which guests could choose from.

We stayed in the Feversham suite. Our queen bed was too soft and the mattress moved when turning in bed thus waking one’s sleeping partner. It was difficult to have a continuous sleep when each of us was waking the other up every time we each rolled over. The mattress needed to be replaced with a firmer, inert mattress for the increased comfort of guests. There was no tv in our room which we found puzzling and concerning given the 4-star nature of the accommodation. Tv is usually included in such accommodation.

The breakfast was amazing. Crepes...... just imagine that along with a jalepo scone and other great items. Excellent bed an a second level deck to overlook the town. Quiet location, a good restaurant nearby and very close to Louisbourg Historic site. Beautifully restored building.

It is a well run, tastefully decorated Bed and Breakfast. The house and staff are warm and welcoming yet unobtrusive. The breakfast was homemade with unique mixture of fruits. The place had character and class.

The place was great! Very quaint and comfortable and an ideal location to walk downtown and restaurants. Loved the balcony to sit and enjoy the view. Breakfast included was delicious! Would definitely recommend!

Tutto. Il titolare ha cercato di mettermi le mani addosso solo perché avevo chiesto spiegazioni sul tipo di colazione!!! Non hanno il frigobar e il televisore in camera. Così come la macchinetta per il caffè. Per il check-in non c’è nessuno: ti lasciano un foglio con il tuo nome e la chiave della stanza. Se hai bisogno di qualsiasi cosa non sai a chi rivolgerti. Tutto veramente orribile!!!

The stairs are safe and sturdy. They can a broken with someone with mobility issues. Thanks to power who was on site and took my suit case to my vehicle.

A 130+ year-old home operated by 4-th generation owners and lovingly maintained. Our room (Cape Dauphin) was clean, spacious and nicely furnished, and included a private deck with a western view. A shared deck on the east side of the house provided a choice of areas for relaxation. The breakfast was excellent. I am sorry we stayed only one night, I would have liked to chat more with the hosts about their lives in Louisbourg.

There were a lot of steps to climb to reach the 3rd floor! But overall there was really nothing not to like.

Breakfast was the biggest issue we had with this lodging, not because it wasn’t good, but because Karen was rude and inflexible about allowing us to bring food back to enjoy in the comfort and privacy of our bedroom (which has been the case at every bed & breakfast that we’ve stayed at). What’s more, she even forced us to find our own silverware and containers on one occasion when we wanted to bring the food to our room.

Karen: plain and simple. She gave off terrible energy, was rude to my partner, and then tried to recover by making small talk afterwards. We were so repelled by her hospitality (or lack thereof) then we didn’t even bother to have breakfast on the last day and checked out early, taking off through the back door. To be clear, our criticism is not directed at the rest of her staff, just Karen. Thanks to her, we look forward to not staying at this inn again.

Exquisite late 1800’s extremely well maintained house. Simply incredible! No tv’s or digital clocks in the room which we found made it even more peaceful. This place is a real gem! Karen served us a delicious breakfast - made by Parker, the owner himself. She carried herself with class and elegance and we felt like we were back in time.

It was a nice location, convenient for our visit to the fort and the lighthouse. The vintage house was very nostalgic and pretty. The breakfast was nicely served and very tasty.

I had just injured my knee that very day so climbing those stairs was very painful but, of course, not the fault of the accommodations. The legitimate issue we had was someone knocking on our door (?housekeeping) at just after 7 in the morning when we were trying to dress and not in a state to answer a door. We ignored it. Then, after breakfast, while trying to pack up and get ready to leave, housekeeping was knocking on the door AGAIN. This was approximately 9 or 9:30 when checkout wasn’t until 10:30. VERY annoying!

Das Frühstück war individuell überraschend und überschaubar. Für Gäste, die ein kontinentales Frühstück bevorzugen war es völlig ausreichend. Das Zimmer war für uns ältere Gäste im Erdgeschoss gut gelegen.

Leider handelte es sich um eine Art Durchgangszimmer: Eine Außentür und eine Innentür unmittelbar zu dem Frühstücksraum. Alles hellhörig. Das Haus hat einen Renovierungsstau und abgewohnt ist eben nicht charmant. Der Schlüssel lag an der Rezeption bereit. Da wir außerhalb des Ortes dann noch eine Reifenpanne hatten, war es sehr ärgerlich, dass das Haus telefonisch nicht zu erreichen war.

Karen the hostess was FANTASTIC!! We were tired after spending 3 hours at the FORTRESS so this lovely spot was a DIVINE rest!! The home is GORGEOUS and so very comfortable! We had a superb dinner at Bothy that night

The owners Karen and Parker were especially helpful and welcoming throughout our visit. They were always available with recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed, which made the stay feel easy and comfortable. Breakfast each morning was a highlight fresh, well-prepared, and a great way to start the day before heading out to explore the historic site in Louisbourg and the surrounding area. The rooms are named after ships, which adds a unique touch to the experience, especially since the building was built by one of the ship captains, I loved hearing the history of the building. The overall feel of the place was great and really enhanced the charm of the stay. As I enjoyed exploring the history of the Louisbourg area, I would love to come back and stay here again in the future.

We were obsessed with how good the breakfast was! And the decor and ambiance of the BnB was fantastic.

They cancelled on us with one day notice, we had booked months in advance.

The breakfasts were presented beautifully and were delicious. Of all the places we stayed on this trip, the breakfasts here were the best

We didn’t realize we had booked a room on the third floor. It would have been better if we could have stayed on the second floor. Stairs are difficult for me

We were told on the morning of our projected stay that through some mix-up that we no longer had a room! We were on the road…we had to scramble to find a Plan B. Ended up having to drive 1.5 hours to another place. Some of it on VERY unfamiliar roads in the dark. They had no availability, apparently, on the requested dates. Could (should) have told us earlier.

The rooms were clean and beautifully decorated. Check-in was quick and easy. It felt like they had been waiting for us to arrive, with the door propped.open and our.keys waiting on the front vestibule table for us. Breakfast was wonderful both mornings we were there. Karen, our hostess, was friendly, informative, and helpful. We highly recommend this Inn.
