Lugar súper tranquilo y acogedor, una familia encantadora que nos ayudó en todo lo posible, alado puedes alquilar una moto súper barata, muy buena ubicación y sorprendentemente con AC, agua caliente y filtro de agua!!!! Muy buen desayuno, te tratan como si fueses su hijo. Volveríamos sin ninguna duda.

I didn’t like the fact that I need to share the table with the uncle. It was awkward when I didn’t want socialize in the morning. The room is not very clean especially the toilets.

Not that clean, bedsheets had some stains and the bathroom was a bit dirty. Also there was a lot of noise from the road that is right next to the homestay during the night

The host was so friendly and welcoming. Very good location to walk to both beaches in town. Nice accommodation. Very spacious and a lovely warm shower.

The bar above, first night was loud but it was a Saturday, i booked away from main street to avoid music. But ear plugs jn and no problem. No music second night 😆 no other issues!

There are a lot of great things to say about this place. First the location is amazing. a few minutes walking fro dickwella beach which is an amazing beach to lounge and swim and a few minutes walking from hiri, where you can surf and all the buzz happens. The hosts were nothing but amazing. Kind, nice and helpful and every morning I had an amazing breakfast being cooked for me when I cam back from sports. The room itself is simple but it fits its purpose. Ac works well and here is a mosquito net

The house is right by a busy road, so you can ear a lot of noise at night and throughout the day No hot water which in rainy colder days can be a bit annoying

Lovely, really helpful host. Delicious breakfast. Room was spacey and the bed comfortable.

You can hear all the noices coming from the road next to your room, so if you are a light sleeper you might have some trouble falling asleep.

Mama was the most inviting and helpful person we have met in Sri Lanka. Her recommendations for food (Priyankas restaurant) and activities were second to none. She helped us rent a scooter for a great price. She even let us watch and learn how to make our delicious Sri Lankan breakfast with her. Cannot recommend her and her homestay enough. What a wonderful place and with such a lovely family. We hope to come back soon!

Lovely hosts who were very welcoming and so helpful, we had a delicious varied breakfast each morning! Room was clean and comfortable, good mosquito net and AC. Location was great for both town and the beach, they helped us arrange a Tuktuk to turtle point and our next accomodation. Super cute animals! Would recommend!

Can be quite noisy from the road. Bathroom could be updated.

Super friendly and helpful host, delicious breakfast, good communication! Had a nice AC, walking distance to Hiriketiya beach and Dikwella Beach

The shower wasn’t very clean, not a lot of storage space like a shelf or something, a bit noisy because it’s next to a road and the hut is not very soundproof.

Wow, this was the best experience in Sri Lanka for us! The room is decent, clean and good, but the hosts make all the difference. We were invited for the birthday of the hostess’s husband, with cake and their complete family. Such a loving family, and the breakfast was 10/10. Helena and her family are so wonderful. They were so sweet and the breakfasts were delish! Such a good price for a great stay!

We really enjoy our stay at Helena’s. We had such a lovely welcome and all the family members were super nice. They took care of our babyboy so that we could eat breakfast. They washed our laundry and even came to Matara to bring one tshirt that we forgot.

Amazing local breakfast, varied each day but with the most phenomenal dhal and curries. Lovely friendly hosts who enables us to check in early. Short walk to both beaches, small shops and restaurants.

Backs on to a road that can be loud but mostly fine except early morning school times, the street dogs (and occasionally their dog) were an issue though and would bark and howl at intervals in the night which woke us quite a few times.
