Incredible stay at Chez Meriem. Youssef waited for us to arrive to make sure we found the place. Spacious, comfortable, quiet room. The breakfast was incredible and in a lovely room with birds chirping just outside. Included tea, freshly squeezed orange juice, msemen (crepe style bread), boiled eggs, bread, jam, butter, olives, cream cheese. Delicious!

Kleine einfache Unterkunft am Rande der Ortschaft. Einfache Betten und Zimmer. Duschen waren warm und mit gutem Druck. Auch das Frühstück war frisch und reichlich. Der Gastgeber ist sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Was will man mehr.

Todo genial, Youssef, es un anfitrión perfecto con una casa autentica de merzouga y unas camas muy cómodas. La ubicacion es perfecta, a orillas de las dunas y te ofrece un desayuno espectacular, para repetir.

Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Aufenthalt. Die Zimmer und das Hostel waren sauber und gut ausgestattet. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und die Lage direkt an der Wüste war wirklich schön. Wir konnten direkt hineinlaufen und den Ausblick genießen. Besonders hervorheben möchte ich Youssef. Er war wirklich sehr nett, hat uns Tipps gegeben, wir konnten uns gut unterhalten, seine guten Sprachkenntnisse haben dabei geholfen. Er leihte uns sogar gratis sein Sandboard aus, womit wir die großen Dünen runterrutschen konnten. Das war wirklich cool. Insgesamt hatten wir einen schönen und auch preiswerten Aufenthalt, der unsere Marokko-Reise bereicherte. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Może nie jest to miejsce z najwyższej półki ale jeśli wiesz czego się spodziewasz to w pełni spełnia twoje oczekiwania. Proste wyposażenie pokoju ale mieszkający tutaj beduini właśnie w takich budynkach przynajmniej kiedyś nocowali. Zaraz po przyjeździe zostaliśmy poczęstowani beduińską herbatą (bardzo smaczna). Fakt można nocować pod namiotem na pustyni ale niestety brak w ofertach pełnej ceny za pobyt w takim namiocie wraz z transportem. Czytając opinie innych osób, które nocowały pod namiotem mogę powiedzieć że cena całkowita może się zmienić nawet o kilkaset procent z tytułu tak wysokiejn ceny transportu do namiotu i spowrotem. Tutaj nocujesz w budynku ale do wydm masz zaledwie 100 metrów. Wieczorem poszliśmy wgłąb pustyni by poczuć ten klimat nocnego życia na pustyni. Rankiem zaś udaliśmy się na wydmy by obserwować wschód słońca. Naprawdę z minuty na minutę zmianiał się wygląd pustyni oświetlany coraz wyżej wschodzącym słońcem. Można oczywiście na miejscu zorganizować sobie przejażdzkę na wielbłądach czy też quadach lub samochodem terenowym. Śniadanie wliczone w cenę było naprawdę bardzo smaczne i obfite. Polecam wszystkim. Gospodarz bardzo miły i gościnny. Samochód zaparkowany zaraz przy wejściu do budynku.

Wiedząc czego mogę się spodziewać na miejscu nic mnie nie zaskoczyło. Fajny widok z okna na wydmy Erg Chebbi (Merzouga) rekompensuje te proste warunki zakwaterowania, a wręcz ta prostota dodaje klimatu temu miejscu.

La gentillesse et l'accueil de l'hôte. La chambre qui porte sur le désert. La salle de bain est spacieuse avec de l'eau chaude. Très bien pour passer une nuit à côté du désert sans payer pour des camps "luxueux".

Wir sind zum Sonnenuntergang angekommen und direkt in den Dünen verschwunden. Yussef war sehr sehr gastfreundlich und hatte uns auch noch einen Tee angeboten. Frühstück war unglaublich lecker und reichhaltig. Ein perfekter Standort um quasi neben den Wüstencamps das selbe zu erleben (Sterne gucken, Sonnenaufgang und Sonnenuntergang in den Dünen) und das für kleines Geld.

Türen haben zumindest in unserem Zimmer nicht richtig geschlossen.

Der Chef ist ausgesprochen freundlich und kocht unser Abendessen perfekt. Die Unterkunft ist recht groß; unser Zimmer auch. Im Dezember 2025 etwas frisch. Aber es war gut. Wüste im Winter.

Wüste im Winter ist nachts etwas frisch - auch im Zimmer. Mit den Decken geht´s aber. Alles gut.

숙소의 모든것이 좋았습니다. 착한 가격 호스트 유세프 심플한 방 따뜻한 온수 조식까지요. 유세프와의 대화도 즐거웠습니다. 인생에서 가장 중요한게 뭘까? 내가 여행하는 이유가 뭘까? 난 뭘 좋아할까? 왜 좋아할까? 항상 생각합니다. 유세프는 사하라를 그저 걸으며 느껴보라고합니다. 그것이 사하라의 정답이고 인생에서의 정답이 아닐까.. 다시 한번 말하지만 모든것이 즐거웠습니다.

Quiet with safe parking for Motorcycle

The hotel is located right on the edge of the Sahara, a one-minute walk to the dunes. At the time of my stay, no one else was at the hotel so it was very quiet (although you can hear the ATVs as they head out, or come in, from the desert.) My room was spartan but clean and the manager was extremely nice.

The pillows were very lumpy. I strongly recommend getting new pillows.

Super petit déjeuner, copieux et varié. Endroit calme et nous avons été merveilleusement bien acceuilli par Youssef, très disponible et pas avare de conversation...un homme du pays qui reste attaché à sa terre très simplement. Une leçon de vie sans artifice. "Faites moi plaisir, allez au sommet de la dune à pied et non en moto, quad et autres..." Cela résume le personnage. Merci.

Het was geen grote luxe, maar de plaats is authentiek. We werden heel hartelijk ontvangen. Het ontbijt was heerlijk en er werd tijd vrij gemaakt voor een leuke babbel.

Walkable distance to the bus stop, dunes, and anywhere else in Merzouga you might need. We arrived at 6am with Supratours bus and staff had no problem with us arriving early and checking in which was amazing. Cozy rooms, hot water, we would stay here again 100%

Super accueil, Meriem est très sympathique et s’intéresse aux voyageurs qu’il reçoit. Je recommande ce logement avec ses chambres spacieuses et confortables mais aussi le petit déjeuner !

You literally sleep at the edge of the dessert, but without the mass tourist feel of the camps. For us this was perfect; 😍. A simple traditional house, a genuine kind and welcoming hosts, good breakfast. And the ability to explore ourselves the dunes on walking distance was a big plus!

Lovely place to stay, we came very last minute but Youssef welcomed us very kindheartedly. The room was very spacious and clean and it was only few steps into the desert. Also easy to access by foot or with normal car if you don’t want to spend a lot on a desert camp. I wish we had more time to talk with beautiful Youssef. Definitely recommend!

It was one of the best experiences of our travels staying with Chez Meriem. Despite our late night arrival, he was waiting for us and greeted us with genuine warmth. The breakfast the following morning was delicious and accompanied by a beautiful view of the dunes and his yard. A truly memorable stay, best experience for little money!

Yousef was a fantastic host, spoke perfect English and couldn't do enough. Rooms are basic but have everything you need and are clean. As are the showers and toilets. Location is great. A 5 minutes walk to the town or the start of the sand dunes. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Thanks Yousef.

Ideal location just next to the desert, very peaceful, kind and caring host Yussef, nice and comfortable rooms, clean bathrooms with hot water, delicious breakfast included.

The rooms are clean, well maintained, cozy and spacious. There are no problems with hot water, there is soap. Comfortable bed, the room has a table and wardrobe. The owner of the property is very hospitable and responsive. He was always in touch and helped us with all our questions and requests. The most important thing is that he did not impose any expensive and unnecessary excursions on us. We had breakfast included and it was great. Breakfast is thought out to the smallest detail, very filling, all the products were very fresh and high quality every morning! We didn’t always have this in Morocco in other hotels.

We liked everything.

Great location. You leave the hotel and the desert is a 2-minute walk away. The owner is very responsive. On the last day we left early in the morning and he made breakfast for us at 6:30 so that we had time to eat before leaving.

Everything is perfect.

Where to start? We loved Chez Meriem!!! We stayed 3 nights and so wished it could have been longer The owner.Yusef....a gentle, intelligent man, was caring but unobtrusive. No hard sell for camping, camel treks or quad biking. He absolutely understood our desire to just walk, observe and enjoy the area. A simple, but plentiful, beakfast was served every morning, at a time of our choosing...6am on the morning we left to catch an early bus! We tried to say this was unnecessary....but Yusef insisted. Our room was large, clean and comfortable and, not that it really matters, the bedcovers and curtains co-ordinated...pleasing my artistic soul 😊 Lovely fresh towels too. Although shared, the cleanest loos we've had in Morocco...and plentiful hot water for showering. We are planning to return...inshallah. Not for you though if you want noise and parties. A wonderful place for quiet contemplation and to be left alone...in a very caring way 😊 Thankyou so very much Yusef! Ooh...one more thing. No WiFi when we were there ....not a problem for us....local restaurants have WiFi, but Yusef said he would install, possibly April.

Nothing....absolutely nothing! A tip though. It's a little difficult to find and shares a compound with Camping Africa...but well worth the hunt. ...

I recently had the pleasure of staying at an auberge located at the foot of sand dunes, and it was an experience I'll never forget. The highlight of my stay was undoubtedly the sand dunes themselves. The auberge's location at the foot of the dunes made it incredibly easy to explore them, and I spent hours wandering through the sandy landscape, marveling at the changing colors and textures as the sun moved across the sky. In the evening, I returned to the auberge for a delicious dinner of local specialties, including fresh grilled chicken and savory stews. The atmosphere was relaxed and convivial, with other guests swapping stories and sharing travel tips. As the night wore on, I retired to my comfortable room and drifted off to sleep, lulled by the sound of the desert breeze outside. In the morning, I awoke refreshed and ready for another day of exploration. Overall, I would highly recommend this auberge to anyone looking for a unique and unforgettable desert experience. The combination of stunning natural beauty, rustic charm, and warm hospitality made for a truly special stay.
