Croft House Hastings

Perfect location to park up the cars for the weekend and walk into the Old Town and explore. Lots of space in the house and the terrace and rooms were lovely! Although there were others staying we didn't really see that many people and were able to make use of the kitchen, dining room and lounge. Plus the weather was great so we sat out on the terrace.

I had only been left 2 teabags but 7 sachets of coffee I don't drink instant coffee was surprised to find not refilled so message host who insisted someone would bring teabags even when I replied I could get my own no one came or contacted so felt somewhat disappointed as could have got my own honesty goes a long way and reflected in my review unfortunately otherwise all really good

good communication with the host re directions etc.; room was ready before check in time which is a bonus; central location; parking facilities

Liked the nice cosy feel, great for couple for a stay away. nice owner who gives clear instructions and room paired with a nice view.

Great location, large airy rooms, really good outside area to relax and enjoy the views with your own glass of vino to hand. Large free parking area within the secure grounds of the property. Beautiful, listed, period property. Easy check in. Very large lounge, kitchen and dining area.

Perhaps a bit larger fans for this amazing summer we are having, or just bring your own.

The Building externally and location were excellent.

The room was extremely dated, poorly decorated with masking tape still on the walls, dust everywhere and false nails under the sofa. Mould in the shower. The furniture was uncomfortable and the armchair has black grease marks on the head rest.

What a beautiful property, the shared areas were well equipped and beautiful. You really couldn’t ask for more Ample parking but as the owners warned the lane up to the property would be a challenge in a larger car but we managed to drive our outlander to the property so don’t be put off The room was perfect and the bed was so comfortable

Our stay wasn’t long enough

Location was perfect and such a beautiful view across Hastings. The room was SO nice and spacious, we really loved it. But the star was the bed, I did not want to get out of it, so comfy!! Lovely shower and toiletries. We shall return!

We had a lot of noise outside at about 1am, possibly other guests. But not the fault of the Croft House. Otherwise faultless.

The location of Croft House was perfect and so close to the old town. It was peaceful and offering free car parking was the deal maker for us. The self check in was clear and easy to use.The suite was large and nicely decorated.

Lovely property. Quirky and characterful. Unique and ideal location with free parking. Yes a bit of a squeeze to get down the lane but quite possible. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to everyone.

Good location with all facilities we needed. Dogs are welcome. We had spacious rooms on the ground floor. You can walk to the old town in no time and you are close to the beach, although it is a short walk to the part of the beach that is accessible to dogs.

Alles ist sehr stilvoll, man fühlt sich auch gleich zu Hause. Die Lage ist außergewöhnlich. mit dem Hund kann man in ca 5 Minuten in einen wunderschönen Park gelangen in dem man andere hundebesitzer trifft und einen wunderschönen Ausblick auf Hastings hat. Falls man aber auf der Suche nach einem Pub oder einem Restaurant ist, findet man auf der anderen Seite einen sehr einfachen Zugang zur innenstadt. Wir hatten das Zimmer Nummer 6 mit einem wundervollen kleinen Balkon und einer herrlichen Aussicht über alt Hastings und bis zum Meer. Einfach traumhaft. Die Unterkunft bietet kein Essen an, aber in einer wunderbar ausgestatteten Küche kann man sich selbst Speisen zubereiten. Im Badezimmer befindet sich eine doppelte Dusche. Zwei Leute können gleichzeitig duschen.

Clean, spacious and comfortable room, short walk to Old Town. Less than 10 min walk to main town centre. Lovely walks up East Hill into country park

Die Lage war schön und der eigene Parkplatz super! Uns fehlten Handtücher, die wurden aber umgehend gebracht. Die Kommunikation lief auch sehr gut.

Das Zimmer war für 4 Personen zu klein. Unsere Mädels mussten sich ein Sofa teilen, was natürlich nicht zu der allerbesten Laune beitrug. Es gab keine Schränke für die Sachen. Die gemeinsam nutzbaren Räume sahen niedlich aus, aber bei näherem Hinsehen war alles nicht richtig sauber. Daher haben wir auch auswärts gefrühstückt. Und die Zufahrt ist wirklich abenteuerlich. Wir haben mit unserem SUV ganz gut geschwitzt!

Die Lage war gut und es gab Parkplätze vor den Haus.

Personal war nicht da, Das Zimmer war halbwegs sauber, das Bett das unbequemste unserer ganzen Reise. Tatsächlich war es die schlechteste Unterkunft der Reise, aber noch in Ordnung. Nochmal hin würde ich aber nicht.

Det værelse vi fik var bedaget og de indsatte møbler/interiør passede ikke helt sammen. Min datter havde lidt svært ved at “være” i rummet. Ikke helt rent. Gulvet er skævt men sikkert pga at der er tale om et gammelt hus. Indkørselsforhold er rigtig svære. Ikke særlig pæn “have” når man kommer fra p- plads til have. Virker lidt forfaldent det hele, men kan læse at mange er glade for indretningen så det er nok et spørgsmål om smag

It was tricky to find and the drive up the narrow lane to reach the car park may not suit all drivers.

Beautiful place - stylishly furnished with many antiques - lovely country kitchen superbly equipped. Lovely veranda and a really trusting open door policy which felt really welcoming. Great location - good parking, efficiently managed really a fantastic place on every level

We had the opportunity to see a bigger room which was perfect - our smaller room in the eaves was a bit cramped. The cheaper price reflects the size but … there is no full length mirror and the day light is poor. The dressing table is against the sloping roof so you can’t use the mirror, no light there and the shower/ toilet is small and very much ‘in’ the room. The floor is noisy creaky and generally it’s quite hard to navigate two people, hardly any hanging space for clothes, if you had a longish stay be hard to unpack. No bedside lights only overhead and no light from window. Still beautiful, bed comfy but some practical problems. The landing toilet had no loo paper at all throughout the stay which we needed when we arrived and during the stay as our toilet was so ‘in’ the room.

Älskade köket och de gemensamma utrymmena. Mysigt rum med mycket karaktär. Prisvärt och jag skulle rekommendera det för alla. Så bra för barnfamilj som behöver laga egen mat ibland.

Barnsängen. Madrassen var knöglig och stenhård och placerad vid det fönster som vi var tvungna att ha öppet på grund av värmen.. på andra våningen. Så i slutändan fick en av oss vuxna sova i barnsängen av säkerhetsskäl

The building is full of character and a really easy distance from the sea. Our room had sea view. The prorieter Claire is very friendly and obliging

The room didn't have any wardrobe / hangers. The basin in the toilet was super tiny and really difficult to use. There was an oversight with teabags, extra toilet rolls and hand wash but this was rectified once we mentioned this to Claire.

Great location for an easy walk into the Old town of Hastings for breakfast and evenings meals. Parking included was great. Large rooms were really good.

The curtains were a little awkward to pull together, the slide rings kept getting stuck on some pole ridges. Personally, i do not like Fridges in hotel rooms, they can be noisy at night!

There is no breakfast option for this hotel, but apparently you can use their kitchen. We did not. There is an excellent view from room 2. Given considerate neighbours, it would be very quiet at night. Excellent shower. Easy and free parking. Close to the old town and Hastings Contemporary art gallery, but a 40-minute hike to La Bella Vista. It was hot enough to go for a swim, but wear something on your feet for the pebble beach.

We were unlucky to stay during a heatwave. It was so hot, we stayed only two of the three days we booked. Air-conditioning would have been a blessing. We had the bikers from hell staying above us for one night - got two hours sleep. There was minimal shelf space in the bathroom. There was no place to hang clothes in the room, but plenty of drawers. More hooks would have been nice. Definitely book restaurants in advance.

Great location near the center of the old town with off street parking. Communication with the property was good and we arranged to get into the room slightly earlier so we could get to a wedding on time.

The bed was comfortable.

The lane leading up to the property and also the brick walls on entry. Very risky manoeuvring past all the parked cars and full length of the brick wall.

Loved the use of extra spaces - kitchen, lounge, terrace. Great location - short walk into town. Good space to visit with other folk - as plenty of room to hang out together. Felt very relaxed.

The drive to the property is very narrow with parked cars along the way and a brick wall on the other side - so not easy to go in and out during the stay. Parking onsite is great but getting to and from it was pretty stressful - and our car isn’t big and the driver is very confident.

Vynikající lokalita, ve starém městě, blízko rybářskému přístavu i moderní části pobřežního města.

Lepší popis trasy k objektu, jede se nesmírně úzkou uličkou a na samém konci se dům nachází, číslo není vidět a název objektu je na malé tabulce a lze ho snadno přehlédnout.

Schönes Zimmer mit guter Lage. Schnelle Antworten bei Rückfragen an die Unterkunft. Parken war gratis, die schmale Einfahrt allerdings eine Herausforderung.

What an amazing find , have been coming to Hastings for years and never knew about Croft House, can honestly say this is one of the most amazing places to stay, the history within the building is fabulous....would love to sort your garden out. Will definitely be back , great being able to park , amazing views and peaceful.

We had a lovely room in a very interesting characterful, charming building. We enjoyed having access to a kitchen and other extra facilities.

It was all fine although the access road is a little on the tight side.

The place was great. So close to Old Town in Hastings. We loved the furniture and pictures on the wall. We had a small problem with the room when we got there but the owners fixed it up promptly. Fantastic service.

Fit and finish in bedrooms leave A LOT to be desired, some of the messiest workmanship i have ever seen i. a b&b or hotel, bathroom basin is so small you cannot even properly brush your teeth in it, broken shower fittings, no cupboards, cobwebbed windows that do not close properly. We have stayed here twice, in bedroom 5 and if memory serves bedroom 1. On second stay I got the impression that everything is going a bit downhill, even the garden looks shabby and in need of TLC Its a pity as the place is otherwise great.

Staff went above & beyond with the prosecco bottle for the birthday greeting! Property well-maintained and facilities functional, very well located and great views! Check-in was smooth and all instructions were easy to understand

Perfect located, charming interior- really a find!

The little touches in the rooms were beautiful, the lamps and mirrors etc. The main beds were very comfortable. The fans were a god send as it was a heatwave when we stayed.

We didn't realise when we booked it wasn't a bed and breakfast but the fault is mine there. Very clean and just a lovely spot.

This place was quirky. Nearby good pubs.

There was only one window and this looked onto an unkempt garden, and ugly building. There was a kettle for tea /coffee making, this had an intermittent fault and could not be filled from the only tap in the too small sink. (no PAT test certificate apparent on this). Broken shower attachment. Totally inadequate clothes storage facilities - it was a hatstand which blocked the view to the tv . Poor decoration on unfinished/missing skirting board. Bed sank in the middle. The small room gave us "cabin fever" prompting us to cut short our stay by two days! This was not a deluxe room.

Very cosy in typical British building. Tidy and room was obviously recently renovated. Nice balcony with great view to the sea/Hastings. Located in the Old Town next to pubs. Parking lot in front of the house.

Ideal location, very central but quiet and secluded.

Really peaceful location but very near the old town centre. This was even more impressive as we were there during the Jack in the green festival. Beautiful building, room and communal areas. Lovely view from the terrace outside.

Room was very warm despite having the window open all night. I imagine it It would be extremely hot in summer. One electrical socket was alarmingly lose and almost certainly unsafe. Bed was too soft with noisy springs. Wooden floor is clean but looks not / could do with a sanding.
