Incredible location, wonderful view and setting. Friendly obliging hosts

It is such a beautiful peaceful place, with a lovely swimming pool/ spa pool to watch the sunrise. It is close to Cooks Beach, Hahei etc without being in the hustle and bustle. Plus their avocado orchard is lovely. Yummy avocados too.

A dishwasher would be nice. But so handy to have the rest of the kitchen facilities including a full oven, airfrier and barbecue

Amazing stay! The pool, spa & sauna were great, especially with the views. Thanks for having us! If we are ever back in the area, we will be sure to stay again.

Bryce and Kat were incredibly hospitable and generous. Always ready to answer any questions. Situated on an avocado farm it was really peaceful. The pool and hot tub were lovely facilities.

The crockery cupboards smelt very musty so we felt we needed to wash any dishes etc before using. We kept the cupboards open during our stay so there was always a musty smell

Lovely location. Easy access to all local activities. Nice pool and spa area (pool was a little chilly for us though!).

Mezzanine room is quite low, mind your head if you're tall!

We had a truly wonderful stay here in New Zealand. Everything was perfect. The apartment is beautiful and surrounded by stunning nature, which made our time here very special. We especially loved walking through the avocado orchards – enjoying the fresh fruit and vegetables, particularly the delicious avocados, was a real highlight for us. The sweet dog was an absolute bonus, and the hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. We felt completely at home. Thank you so much for this amazing experience – we would gladly come back anytime!

Location is fabulous.

Owners were so welcoming and even gave us free fruit and avocados they had grown. The views were amazing and so secluded but equally super close to some things to see in the car. Would definitely return.

The kitchen is basic. Too little space on worktop. A dog kept in a car was trying to get into our apartment.

Secluded, surrounded by nature, delicious local avocados in plentiful supply. A few minutes from Hot Water Beach by car. Pool, hot tub, relaxed feel. Close to astonishing beaches. Weather variable but still able to thoroughly enjoy our stay. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay and wished we could have spent more time on the premises. It's very cosy and welcoming. Kat and Bryce are lovely guests, it was a pleasure meeting them, and Yogi, of course! 🥰

The main house was lovely and we had access to the garden, with wonderful views and hot tub. Fresh fruit especially avocados were great and tv worked well (although seating was weird). Friendly owners.

The unit was a part barn conversion. Very dated and no views at all. It was very quirky but a little claustrophobic and cold, although I imagine it would be better in the summer with outdoor eating etc. We were woken by machinery in the adjacent part of the barn. We felt we'd been misled about the location and views.

The property is an ideal location for all the local attractions with the bonus of guaranteed quiet nights, clear star filled skies at night along with swimming pool, hot tub and sauna. Very Very good

Genuinely tough to find anything wrong with this property, ideally we would of liked to stayed longer.

Lovely apartment in a stunning and peaceful location. 10 minutes drive to either Hot Water Beach or Cathedral Cove. Only 5 mins drive to a lovely restaurant called the Hive. Extremely comfy beds and great shower. Pool and hot tub were a bonus. Bryce and Kat were lovely hosts and were so kind in giving us avocados, feijoas and tomatoes fresh from their orchard and garden.

Kitchen was very small. Having an oven and washing machine would make a huge difference.

I came from Japan to meet Yogi, an Australian Cattle Dog. He is a breed that you cannot find in Japan. The owner was kind and Yogi is the cutest! I was captivated by his charm. I'm glad I went to meet him. The beautiful scenery is also a lifelong memory. I hope you stay healthy, Yogi. Thank you.

A stunning location with a wonderful pool and great hosts. It was also very convenient for Hahei, Cathedral Cove and Hot Water Beach which were all an easy 10 to 15 minute drive away

There was limited communal space to sit indoors in the evening

Everything was brilliant! The welcome and hospitality was first rate. It was beautifully clean. The beds were comfortable. The views from the pool and hot tub were breathtaking. Perfect getaway for relaxation. Great location for nearby attractions.

Kat made us very welcome, leaving flowers, chocolate, fruit and avocados. The spa was great. Awesome dark skies. Appreciated the spades for Hot Water beach. Very quiet. Lovely grounds. Comfy bed. Lots of space. Fast WiFi. Large fridge freezer.

The decor is very tired. Would benefit from throws on the sofas and the wall boarding painting. It is very dark internally with very small windows. Needs curtains on the windows. Missed having a bedroom door. Ladder to mezzanine is really steep. The hanging space needs you to climb the ladder. The kitchen is functional but the cooker leaked rust and the cupboards smelled damp. The bathroom only has a washing machine sink. The washing machine is cold water only. Kat and Bryce have only been there two years and I'm sure they'll have plans to gradually upscale the decor. Their dog is such a sweet guy but we struggled to keep him out of the house so needed to keep the doors closed. The bugs are huge which prevented us sitting outside in the evening. .

Quiet location, friendly hosts, who gifted us avocados, eggs, tomatoes and bread for a homegrown breakfast!

Country Retreat is a little slice of paradise. Set in sublime surrounds with everything provided as a home from home would. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the kitchen equiped for come what may and a pool with a view that’s a distillation of peace. Kat is so kind and just lovely. She gave us some fruit from the garden and it was all so damn tasty. Very much recommended.

Great location for access to hot water beach and cathedral cove - 20 minute drive away. Lovely pool and hot tub. The owners live in the house on site and are very welcoming - avocado farm - the avocados and fruit are gorgeous.

The accommodation is a bit strange - built inside a garage building it can sleep up to 7 - 4 in the main bedroom on ground floor, 2 in a mezzanine above (that would be very hot in summer) and one in the lounge. In summary, the accommodation is a surprise when you arrive, but it works and it was certainly comfortable for two. Lots of room.

Beautiful location. Friendly hosts. Private and really clean. Comfortable beds. Large bathroom. Outdoor area with spa and swimming pool was a highlight.

The kitchenette area was a bit small but it’s manageable. I wouldn’t plan on cooking lots in the space as there is no exhaust fan. But making breakfast was fine. They have a double electric hot plate. The cottage also comes with a Weber bbq. There’s no lounge area, being summer that wasn’t an issue for us as we sat outside under the stars but in winter you would be in the bedrooms.

Beautiful grounds in a mountain top setting. Kat was so accommodating and kind. Numerous fresh avocados were provided from their trees that were delicious. The night skys were so clear and full of stars. We highly recommend!

Location, location, location! Perfectly situated on the Coromandel Peninsula to hot water beach and Whitianga. Probably one of the most beautiful properties we have ever stayed on. It is an avocado farm, so plenty of avocados to enjoy, as well as a hot tub and pool, with stunning views. Wonderful friendly hosts too.

It was a little dated for our taste, although fully equipped and functional.

Bryce and Kat are absolutely amazing hosts! They are so kind and eager to help in any way, always checking in on us to make sure we had everything we need or if we needed information on the surroundings. We put our clothes out to dry and it rained while we were gone and Kat was so nice to put it on our porch all dry. The property itself is incredible and lush, they even have their own garden that they gladly share with their guests. The view from the hot tub and pool is gorgeous. We really enjoyed how quiet and relaxed the surroundings are. You easily feel at home. Great energy on this land. It’s perfectly located to enjoy everything coromandel has to offer.

As beautiful as the property was I did find the accommodation to be very rustic. The beds were very comfortable though. This place could definitely use an upgrade, especially in these modern times where things aren’t as expensive as they used to be and it wouldn’t take much to make it a 5/5.

Spectacular views in a truly luxurious apartment with a very friendly host and adorable dog. The bed was exceptionally comfortable.

The location is beautiful, and convenient for Cook’s Beach. We can’t say enough about the garden and the view. Truly a beautiful stay.

Only ideal for 2 to 3 persons The outside lightings leading to the pool and spa in the evening was not on as the switchs are not in the guests control. Maybe Have solar lighting so that the whole path is lit when using spa and pool after sunset

Beautiful scenery. Peaceful, quiet, with an INCREDIBLE view. The hosts are kind, relaxed and helpful people (with an adorable, friendly dog!) They provided us with yummy avocados 🥑 The location is also very handy to the stunning beaches of Hahei, Hot Water Beach and Cooks Beach. Whitianga is also not so far. The accommodation is typical Kiwi casual bach style which felt very homey. The hosts were very happy to answer questions. Can't wait to stay again.

The only thing we didn't like was the fact we had to return home to work! What a wonderful place, we'd be happy to stay again.

What a beautiful place, so peaceful and the views were amazing! Having use of the hot tub and pool was so lovely and the views from here were just first class!! Bryce was so friendly and made us feel very welcome, all of the added extras in the accommodation were also such a personal touch (tea, coffee, sugar, milk, avocados, washing up liquid, hand wash, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, washing powder ect!!) Thank you for a wonderful stay!!

Bryce gave exact directions and they worked perfectly. Easy access into the retreat, as was parking. We settled in and Bryce gave us a lovely tour of his property. He was personable and welcoming. Beautiful setting. Plenty of amenities had we stayed longer. We loved everything.

Just an idea...Perhaps a couple of beach towels would have been handy. We used our house shower towels for Hot Water Beach. Oh! And thank you for providing such great shovels for Hot Water Beach!

The hospitality was wonderful with a bowl of fresh avocados picked on the property, plus plums, grapes and limes -- and beach towels and shovels for hot water beach! Thank you Bryce for your attentiveness and kindness :)

Fantastic location, close to Hot Water Beach, beautiful scenery, very quiet! Everything is given for a very comfortable stay here! I wish we cold have stayed longer. Shower gel, shampoo etc were provided along with nice clean towels. There was a kettle and coffee on the kitchen, and also a huge fridge. There were 2 rooms, so it was very comfortable.

It is in a lovely location set in the hills but close to Cathedral beach and hot water beach. The pool was nice. We were given plenty of avocados and plums and made to feel welcome. It was spotlessly clean. Washing machine was handy.

The unit was retro which I quite liked although the cheap curtain with the nail ‘hook’ was probably taking it a bit far. The chairs out side had seen better days and it would have been nice if there were some chairs by the pool to sit out/sunbathe on after a swim.

Loved the views and the peaceful evenings. This property is set back high amongst the hills. It has outstanding views. IS very comfortable and easy to holiday in. Our hosts were great people and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Particularly liked our early morning visits from Yogi the blue heeler. Such a lovely dog

I left my waterproof in the wardrobe. Silly me, no ones fault but mine.

Beautiful location and nice accommodation

Disappointed the bathroom facilities were basic. Bathroom, toilet, laundry all in one room. This meant if one person was using the toilet, no one else could access facilities. Sink was a laundry trough.

The property is absolutely gorgeous! The hosts were so friendly and helpful. Their dog was sweet, too. We enjoyed the pool, the plums, the avocados, and the accomodations were comfortable and well equipped. It was just as descibed

The only issue we had was the strength of the wifi, but really not an issue in the overall scheme of things. We didn't book the place for the wifi!
