Reviewed Apr 17, 2026One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. Despite paying more than what was originally agreed, the management forced us to leave early in the morning, claiming they had a booking, even though we still had four days left on our reservation after already staying three nights. The staff were extremely unprofessional and dishonest. I was even forced to call the police due to the situation and had to change hotels in the middle of the day. Completely unacceptable and poorly managed. I do not recommend this place at all.”

Property washroom was stinky, rooms were decent but there wasn’t regular house cleaning and the breakfast wasn’t good for foreigners.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026Quando siamo arrivati gli hanno dato una camera senza bagno…Che gli avevo già pagato su booking una camera con bagno.Gli ho fatto vedere il pagamento e ho detto che era incluso il bagno.Ma hanno detto che forse era qualche problema nel sito di booking.com.Quindi ho pagato 70€ in più per avere una camera con bagno.

Rooms could use slippers. Bath cabinet could be bit cleaner (was bit smelly to me). You will need to have ur own shampoo and conditioner. But for the money and compared to other residencies with same price range, this hotel is the best.

There literally no shops around the hotel, only small kiosks where they've only sold chips and drinks. The bathroom was dirty, moldy, the room was dusty, there were some bugs in the room. No shower gel only a bar soap.

Reviewed May 21, 2023I stayed 9 nights at the Columbia hotel at Talaat Harb street, downtown Cairo. I really enjoyed my stay there. All the staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Thanks to all of you. The room I stayed in (room 9) was bright, clean and comfortable. Also the bed sheets and towels were clean. The room had a modern good working air-conditioning system, satellite television with about 1000 channels (choose your favourite :-) ), a clean modern fridge and the wifi signal was during my whole stay stable and strong (very important). The bathroom was spacious and hot water to shower was always available, day and night. A table and 2 chairs was also in the room which I explicitly asked for as I also had some work to do. The location is really in the center of downtown so everything you need is available in the shops nearby and there are also several restaurants and coffee shops nearby. Tahrir Square is a 10 minutes walk. So really nothing to complain and I will certainly come back to the Columbia hotel on a next trip to Cairo.

Reviewed Jan 15, 2023Hotel is located in an old building on the 6th floor,but it's renovated. Staff was always very kind, they tried to serve us in the best way they could. 🙂 Breakfast was really nice and was served in our nice and clean rooms. Hotel's location was perfect.
Our room's shower didn't have any curtains and sometimes there was a bad smell from the drains. During the 5 days we stayed there was not cleaned. Internet's connection wasn't that strong (of someone needs to work)

The hotel was like an old hostel in the sixth floor of an old and dirty building. We had announce that we were going to arrive late, according to our plane. The Door was closed and nobody answer us. We had to wait in the street for a long time... Nobody cleaned the room. The breakfast was server un your room as there is not a cafeteria. The rest of the breakfast remained in the room on the next evening. It was a bad and expensive experience
