Reviewed Sep 8, 2026Leon and his wife was very welcoming. They did everything to make us feel at home. The villa is beautiful and in a quiet area of the town. There are lots of supermarkets and restaurants that you can easily reach by car.

Diese Unterkunft nicht bei kaltem, regnerischen Wetter buchen. Es regnet rein, die Gemeinschaftsräume waren nicht zu heizen und es zog durch Spalten und Schlitze. Ein Zimmer ist außerhalb, das heißt, man kann nicht vom Zimmer direkt in Gemeinschaftsräume. Wir sind nach einer durchgefrorenen Nacht frühzeitig abgereist, bekamen kein Geld zurück.

Reviewed Jan 25, 2026We received such a warm welcome from Leon! And what a beautiful spacious house. Gorgeous interior and fabulous views over the orchard and rose garden. Private and secure. Also, better equipped than our own home :-) Bed was so comfortable too... We will DEFINITELY return.

Reviewed Nov 3, 2025Wir waren auf der Anreise nach Oudtshoorn in Kontakt mit Petra. Sie hat uns immer sofort geantwortet und uns auf dem Weg nach Oudtshoorn gelotst. Leon hat uns bei der Ankunft herzlich begrüsst und das Haus gezeigt. Wir waren sehr beeindruckt und fühlten uns wie kleine Kings und Queens auf der Veranda, als wir den Sonnenuntergang beobachteten. Auch beeindruckt hat uns die Idee von Leon, dass der schöne Garten für die Gäste ist. Die Früchte und das Gemüse dürfen zum Eigenverbrauch geerntet werden. Einfach wunderbar! Wir haben unseren Freunden&Familie in Kapstadt das Ravensciff White House schon weiterempfohlen, ebenso wie das Nebenhaus oder das B&B.

Reviewed Sep 16, 2025Wir haben eine Nacht im White House auf unserer Reise durch Südafrika verbracht. Wir wären gerne länger geblieben! Das Haus ist sehr schön gestaltet und eingerichtet. Es blieben keine Wünsche offen. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und und haben die Zeit sehr genossen.

Reviewed Aug 27, 2025We met Leon at the property and he was very friendly and welcoming. The property is very quaint and we loved the wooden carved table in the kitchen. Our only niggle would be the lack of heating in the living / dining area and gaps around the external doors, but coped for the one night. If we had been staying longer it might have been an issue as it was African Winter so very cool on an evening and first thing. We did not realise prior to booking that the layout of the property meant our children were not in the main building to us which was a slight worry. The master bedroom (& ensuite) in the main building is next to the lounge / dining / kitchen area with two entry points, one in the kitchen area and the other directly from the master bedroom. The lockable door from the master bedroom is adjacent to another lockable door that has the bunk beds and double bed (and ensuite). Leon did say that some parents find it odd and choose to sleep in with their children but it was up to us. We choose not to, just locking both doors after doing a ‘sound check’ ensuring we could yell through the bathroom / bedrooms to be heard! Something to be aware of when booking. The house was lovely though, spotless and Leon did assist in late check outs for us and was very good with communication.

My only suggestion suggestion for improvement would be a more comfortable couch and a heater in the lounge.

Reviewed Feb 26, 2025Leon our host was delightful and couldn’t have been more helpful, including doing laundry for us when I said I was going to wash a few bits, and at no charge. He gave us good advice on restaurants and safety, and gave us our own space. Property was amazing and clean, so restful on the huge veranda in the lovely garden, we could have stayed forever. Convenient for our excursions to Cango caves and meerkats, both of which were well worth it. One of the best properties in the many we stayed in during our month here. Thank you again Leon, and for the quinces!

Reviewed Jan 28, 2025We loved the house itself - it is very spacious, well appointed and with unique, but very comfortable, furniture. The bathroom has en suite which is always a treat. We particularly enjoyed the large verandah which had a barbecue and amazing views of the town and surrounding hills. Off road parking was provided and we felt very safe as the property was fenced. The host was extremely welcoming and was happy to answer all my questions.
Everything was to our liking.

Leon is a great host, helped us with recommendations for places to see and where to eat. The location is excellent, on the hill with great sunset view. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The house itself was very spacious, clean, and well equipped. The host was very kind and all went smooth. We would absolutely recommend to stay at the Ravenscliff White House.

The fact that we had to pay double the price in spite of booking 2 kids ages 9 and 16 somewhere between host and booking. Com huge advertising error apparently it's supposed to be kids under 2 free which is not clearly stated on the booking site,till the end my checking in and out the price continued to be R1000 for 4 people, but owner insisted booking. Com made and error and we had to pay R2000 just for one night no exceptions.

It has a very big, covered terrace and is located on a quiet street. We felt like kings in a castle! The garden is fenced off with a gate, so parking nextto the house is safe. Leon and his wife were very welcoming and accommodating.
