The Rainforest Hideaway

Amazing chalet right next to the river and immerse in the nature. We took part in the tour of the Shiranja forest organised by the stay and it was one of the most amazing experiences we had in Sri Lanka. The guide was very informative and took is time to guides through the whole hike.

The proximity to the river is both good and bad as the noise of the water fills the whole chalet and makes it a bit hard to sleep( it is romantic at first but after a while it becomes annoying) but I guess is part of the charm of the place.

Naturally beautiful, warm local hospitality, great home cooked food, good communication and excellent value.

Tolle abgelegene Lage im Regenwald direkt am Fluss. Schöne Hütten mit gemütlicher Veranda und entspannte Atmosphäre. Das beste an der Unterkunft ist das Personal. Eine super herzliche Familie die sich sehr viel Mühe gegeben hat uns eine schöne Zeit zu ermöglichen. Touren in den Regenwald waren reibungslos organisiert. Riesen Dank geht an Sahara! Das Gepäck einer Mitreisenden kam nicht im Flieger mit und nachdem eigene Versuche das Nachliefern mit dem Flughafen zu organisieren gescheitert sind hat Sahara die Kommunikation übernommen, die Abholung organisiert und dafür gesorgt dass wir das Gepäck endlich entgegennehmen konnten. Vielen Dank!

Cabañas ubicadas en medio de la naturaleza y al lado del río Gin. Muy cómodo, habitación amplia y limpia. Los dueños fueron muy amables y nos hicieron sentir muy cómodos. Nos ayudaron a reservar el trekking por el parque de Sinharaja con un guía local y fue todo como la seda. Desde el alojamiento te van a buscar y a dejar desde el punto de encuentro en 4x4. Desayuno más que completo. Comimos y cenamos allí y la verdad es que comimos muy bien. Un lugar espectacular para desconectar!

Äußerst freundlicher Empfang und Personal. Lage mitten in der Natur. Sehr gutes Frühstück und ebenso gutes Abendessen. Baden im Fluss ein tolles Erlebnis. Bestens durchorganisierte Wanderungen durch den Regenwald möglich. Transfer zur und von der Unterkunft funktioniert perfekt.

Es war alles super! Durch das feuchte Klima riecht es im Zimmer allerdings etwas unangenehm.

Persoonlijk vind ik Sinharaja één van de mooiste plekken van Sri Lanka. Het regenwoud is nog grotendeels ongerept en de hoeveelheid wildlife die je hier tegenkomt is echt bijzonder. Het voelt alsof je even terechtkomt in een paradijs op aarde. Vorig jaar kwamen we hier voor het eerst en waren we zo onder de indruk dat we dit jaar besloten terug te keren. De vorige keer verbleven we niet direct aan de rivier, dus dat leek ons voor deze reis een leuke toevoeging. Ondanks de vele reviews die waarschuwden voor het geluid van de rivier, wilden we dat graag zelf ervaren. En inderdaad, de rivier is behoorlijk aanwezig. Maar eerlijk gezegd went dat snel, zeker als je ziet op wat voor fantastische plek je verblijft. Midden in de natuur, aan een prachtige snelstromende rivier waar je heerlijk kunt zwemmen. Meer heb je eigenlijk niet nodig. De omgeving is adembenemend en overal hoor en zie je de natuur om je heen. Daarnaast is de familie ontzettend lief en gastvrij. Je voelt je hier echt welkom. Het eten is fantastisch en met veel zorg bereid. Ook fijn: alles kan vanuit het verblijf geregeld worden. Van excursies tot vervoer, je hoeft je nergens druk over te maken. Wij hebben wederom enorm genoten van ons verblijf en kunnen deze plek van harte aanbevelen. Een absolute aanrader voor iedereen die het echte, pure Sri Lanka wil ervaren. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eigenlijk heb ik weinig aan te merken op dit verblijf. Het is precies zoals op de foto's, maar eerlijk gezegd vonden wij het in werkelijkheid nog mooier. En ook iets luider. 😊 Wij verbleven in het laatste huisje, waar het geluid van de rivier het meest aanwezig is. De reviews hierover hadden dus zeker niet overdreven. Tegelijkertijd hoort dat ook een beetje bij deze bijzondere plek. Je zit midden in de natuur, direct aan een prachtige snelstromende rivier. Overdag geniet je van het uitzicht en de omgeving, en 's avonds word je omringd door de geluiden van de natuur. Voor gasten die liever wat meer rust hebben, zou ik aanraden om een van de eerste huisjes te boeken. Daar is het geluid van de rivier aanzienlijk minder aanwezig. Met relatief eenvoudige aanpassingen aan de accommodatie zou het geluid overigens nog verder beperkt kunnen worden, bijvoorbeeld door bepaalde natuurlijke afscheidingen te vervangen door hout of glas. Maar eerlijk is eerlijk: na een tijdje realiseerden we ons ook dat dit juist onderdeel is van de charme. Het constante geluid van stromend water, de vogels en de jungle om je heen herinneren je eraan hoe bijzonder deze plek eigenlijk is. Soms zoeken we de natuur op om even te ontsnappen aan alle drukte, en dan hoort het geluid van die natuur er misschien ook gewoon bij. Kortom: een fantastische plek op een unieke locatie, waar wij met veel plezier op terugkijken. Zeker een aanrader voor iedereen die de natuur van Sinharaja van dichtbij wil beleven. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A peaceful jungle getaway with stunning views and great service! We had a wonderful stay at this charming, cozy property near Sinharaja. The place is small and intimate, featuring just a few cabanas that overlook a fantastic, flowing stream. The constant, soothing sound of falling water throughout our stay was incredibly relaxing (though keep in mind, the water level depends heavily on recent rainfall). There is even a great natural spot right by the cabanas to take a refreshing bath in the stream. Booking & Arrival: Before booking, I tried calling the property directly to ask a few questions but couldn’t get through. However, booking via Booking.com was seamless, and right after it went through, the owner proactively sent all the necessary details to our WhatsApp. Note that you cannot drive your own vehicle straight to the cabanas. They operate a secure car park away from the property and provide a fun 4x4 jeep shuttle service to bring you the rest of the way. Staff & Food: The staff here are incredibly friendly and helpful. A special shoutout to the manager, Mr. Shehara, who was always in touch and made sure all of our needs were met. The food was absolutely delicious, very flavorful, and definitely worth the money spent. Tips for Travelers: Getting there: If you take the Lankagama road, it is a shorter and easier route, but the road is very narrow. It can be quite challenging if two cars need to pass each other. That said, it is incredibly scenic and full of nature, and you can even visit a few waterfalls along the way. Heading back: For a smoother drive home, we highly recommend taking the longer route back through the Deniyaya side.

This was the best 2 nights in Sri Lanka. Fantastic location, steps down to swim in the river. Lovely large room with balcony. Food, especially breakfast outstanding. Family run and really cared about our experience.

For the price especially this was great- interesting location to get to and really.immersed in the rainforest- felt very different to your standard place! The team were responsive and helpful too and helped organise transport to and from here as well as trips into the rainforest with a guide.

No AC but it wasn't too hot and for the price and location I don't really expect it.

La localización es increíble!! Solo la naturaleza y las habitaciones, es una pasada. El río bajando es la banda sonora perfecta. El staff es muy amable y servicial.

Location stupenda immersa nel verde di fronte a un fiume spumeggiante, dove si può anche fare il bagno!! Titolari gentilissimi e disponibili ci hanno coccolato in tutti i modi, anche con uno snack per il tour e acqua inclusa. Camere chalet pulite con tutto l occorrente, cibo buono, possibilità di pranzo e cena in loco. Ci hanno organizzato il tour nella foresta di giorno e di notte con una guida fantastica. Il figlio, giovane intraprendente molto tecnologico e moderno, sa cosa vuole il turista e lo accontenta!! La proprietà è di famiglia da generazioni ed è sempre stata una piantagione di the, che padre e figlio hanno trasformato in struttura turistica. Si percepisce tutto l amore e la dedizione per questo luogo.

This is a truly beautiful and peaceful place. If you are planning to visit Sinharaja, this is definitely a place you should not miss. The hospitality was excellent, and the owner was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive. During our first visit, we had mentioned a few things that needed improvement, and on this visit, we were very happy to see that everything had been arranged and improved to a very high standard. The food was absolutely delicious and freshly prepared. One of the most special features of this place is the beautiful sound of the waterfall belonging to the property. Listening to the gentle sound of the flowing water feels almost like meditation. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful, beautiful place surrounded by nature near Sinharaja.

Lage, Tour im Regenwald, Massage

L'hôtel est absolument fabuleux. Nous cherchions de la connexion à la nature, nous avons été servis. Une voiture lambda ne peut pas arriver jusqu'à l'hôtel, une jeep est venue nous récupérer, nous avons compris pourquoi. Super atypique surtout si vous aimez l'aventure. la rivière ou l'on se baigne est un bonheur.

Peut-être les tarifs du restaurant qui sont un peu élevés je trouve.

De locatie is fantastisch, naast een waterval en rivier om in te zwemmen. De huisjes zijn prima ingericht en hebben een veranda waar je heerlijk kunt genieten van de natuur. Her Sri Lankaanse eten en ontbijt is fantastisch en de staf heel erg behulpzaam en vriendelijk. De tour door het regenwoud was heel erg leuk en goed geregeld.

Estar tan cerca de la cascada. Estás dentro de la naturaleza. El desayuno muy bien, nos dejaron elegir el Sri Lanka breakfast. Hicimos una excursión a sinharaja y el guía Asanka fue excelente. El personal es muy amable y servicial.

Al estar aislado dependes del restaurante y del Jeep. La comida se podría mejorar. Tuvimos que coger un tuktuk a deniyaya para coger el autobús, el precio me pareció excesivo.

Klein paradijsje aan de rivier. Prachtige omgeving, lekker zwemmen in de rivier, gave jungletocht gemaakt met de kinderen. Mooie nieuwe en comfortabele huisjes voor een redelijke prijs. Ook vervoer van en naar onze eerdere en latere bestemming werd fijn geregeld. Aardige mensen. Wat wil je nog meer? Oh ja, we boekten ook nog een fijne massage.

Sommige gerechten in het restaurant misten wat smaak (gekookte groenten en chopsuey groenten). Verder genoeg keus om te eten en lekkere ontbijtjes.

Fantastische plek midden in de natuur! Het team staat altijd voor je klaar voor het eten of het regelen van excursies in het regenwoud. De cabin was prachtig!

Geweldige locatie! Pal aan een waterval waar je in een van de poelen prima kon zwemmen, veel beter dan een zwembad! Family owned met veel liefde gerund. Zoon/manager spreekt perfect Engels en was echt een verademing in vergelijking met andere accommodatie. Run met 4x4 naar guesthouse is al avontuurtje an sich. Ook goede massages beschikbaar!

Alles helemaal goed. Ja de waterval hoor je constant maar wij hadden er geen last van, het klinkt haast als een airco. Die is er overigens niet, wel een ceiling fan, dus soms overdag broeierig binnen, maar ‘‘s avonds koelt het af.

Unieke ervaringen om op zo’n afgelegen plek te mogen overnachten! We werden opgehaald door een 4x4 en werden warm onthaald. Mooie chalets, heel vriendelijke medewerkers, unieke locatie,… We hadden de mogelijkheid om een rainforesttour via hen te regelen en kregen een uitstekende gids. Deze accommodatie is een aanrader!

We zaten heel dicht bij het water en hadden daarvoor veel lawaai van de watervallen. Er waren huisjes die iets verder gelegen waren en anders georiënteerd waren. Daar was de hinder van het lawaai minder.

Wat een geweldige locatie direct naast de rivier. Zelfs de ophaalservice is een noodzakelijk avontuur. Bij rustig water kun je hier heerlijk zwemmen. De huisjes zijn zeer schoon en fijn. Het ontbijt en avondeten zijn goed verzorgt. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Al met al een hele fijne accommodatie om te verblijven.

Wat een spectaculaire locatie aan de rand van het regenwoud. De rit omhoog met de jeep was al super gaaf. En dan nog het uitzicht op de rivier prachtig.(Bij goed weer kan je daar in zwemmen). De huisjes waren heel mooi Ingericht en schoon. Er is een ventilator aanwezig maar dat is voor de nacht niet echt nodig. De eigenaren zijn zeer vriendelijk, ze zorgen ervoor dat je aan niets te kort komt. Het ontbijt was meer dan genoeg. Heerlijk. Wij hebben hier een jungle tocht gemaakt van een halve dag. Dat is zeker een aanrader.

Houdt ter rekening mee dat je in de jungle zit. Het is daarom wat vochtig.

If you want to get to this place, you have to get to a meering point, from where an andventurous 4WD drive will take you to the Hideaway. Don’t worry, you (or your driver) will be informed about everything via WhatsApp, well in time. If you want to go on guided walks, it is the most practical to organize them with the Hotel- they have all kinds of treks. Our room was huge, clean, beautiful, spacious and it was surrounded by the jungle. Our terrace overlooked the waterfall. Breakfast and dinner (can be ordered from a menu) were delicious. The staff is very welcoming and kind. Sahara speaks excellent English, I enjoyed chatting with him on WhatsApp too.

Волшебное место. Хороший домик, шикарная река, в которой можно искупаться, видели варана. Персонал просто чудо. Организовали нам поход в Синхараджу, дали воду, перекус, носки от пиявок, у нас был отличный гид, всё показал и рассказал. Сервис на высшем уровне, ни о чем не надо беспокоиться. Хороший ресторан, цены нормальные, приготовлено вкусно. Советую на 100%.

Минус только один - дорога к месту, на своем транспорте не добраться, только на их джипе, местами трясет и страшновато. 1 км экстрима)

Warme douche werkte niet, maar we kregen onmiddellijk een andere lodge aangeboden om daar te kunnen douchen.

Het is een prachtige locatie aan een waterval waarin je kunt zwemmen. Je zit midden in de natuur. Het huisje was mooi met een balkon, heelijke bedden en een prima douche. De eigenaren zijn heel vriendelijk, denken met je mee in het plannen van activiteiten en rijden je het laatste stijle stuk naar het resort veilig naar boven. Je kan er lekker eten en genieten van de rust.

Niks, alles was voor ons perfect!

L’emplacement est parfait, le calme, le décor, le personnel… les repas. L’aide pour organiser la randonnée dans la forêt, le massage… parfait !!

De huisjes zijn gelegen op een prachtige plek naast een waterval omringd door groen. Je kunt bij de waterval relaxen, maar ook zwemmen. De huisjes zijn mooi en schoon en het eten is heerlijk. Je kunt gemakkelijk trekkings boeken met een gids via de accommodatie. We hebben een night walk en long tour gedaan, die zeker aan te raden zijn! Een toplocatie die zeker aan te raden is!

Ein richtig schönes Erlebnis. Und hat sehr sehr gut gefallen. Der Ort ist traumhaft. Wir haben auch die Geräusche des Wasserfalls und der Natur sehr genossen. Gastgeber sind super herzlich. Die Tour im Regenwald ein Highlight, wir haben extrem viele Tiere gesehen.

As soon as we arrived, we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the nature this hotel is situated in. All the cabanas are luxurious, and they have a direct view of the river and the waterfall with a natural pool. It's also an adventure to reach the spot, starting from Deniyaya. The room (cabana) offers enough luxury for a nice time. The Sri Lankan breakfast is delicious. The hotel also offers several trips.

It took a while before we had hot water, and the towels were of poor quality. Those are things that are easy to solve.

Great location with friendly staff and excellent service.food is delicious .They provided a knowledgeable guide for the Sinharaja hike, which made the experience even better.

The road was in poor condition, making it difficult to reach the location by car or van.

The accomodation was in the most incredible setting overlooking the river. It felt like you were in the heart of the rainforest

The cabin was amazing! In the jungle and overlooking the river. You get to take an old jeep Indiana jones style ride up to the lodge which we all thought was super fun! The staff was so nice and kind and helpful! We felt like staying with a family! The activities were great. We did the long tour hike in forest which was really a highlight with lots of wildlife and swam in river below waterfall! We also did Lankagama nature safari hike to several waterfalls and swam in one. We swam in river at the lodge also. The beds very comfortable and good size room and bathroom. The food was good and they had games available. The lodge provided leech socks which helped on the hikes. Leeches are not disease carriers by the way so not a risk.

We truly loved everything about this place staying in was felt like a little village with locals only. It was such a beautiful area all around. The only thing that was a miss for us was the night hike, but maybe it would be different for others.

The property is beautiful, surrounded by forest, with a peaceful and natural atmosphere. The staff were kind, helpful and smiling throughout our stay, and the location itself is very special.

A few things to be aware of: the rooms do not have air conditioning, and in our opinion the food could be improved. Unfortunately, we also had a very unpleasant experience. My girlfriend noticed on two separate occasions that 5,000 Sri Lankan rupees were missing from her wallet each time. The first time, she thought she might have counted incorrectly. The second time, however, she was certain, because she noticed it when she had to pay the driver who had taken us to Colombo. Between those moments, we had not gone anywhere or made any payment that could explain the missing money. I cannot accuse anyone directly, because we did not see what happened, but after carefully going through the situation, we are sure that something was wrong. What disappointed me most was how the property handled the report: after I explained what had happened, they first replied that it was “impossible”. Later, they said they were open to discussing the matter further and mentioned the possibility of a refund. However, when I explained that my girlfriend did not wish to speak directly, but that they could still send me any message and I would forward it to her, we received no further reply. It is a pity, because apart from this incident the stay had several positive aspects.

River bathing, the villas by the river, the ride from car park to the hotel along the rugged terrain were super fun

Srilankan breakfast was good but dinner should have been better in the preparation, presentation to taste.

We had a wonderful stay at this Airbnb! The fantastic hosts were incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home with excellent local tips. The room by the waterfall was magical — waking up to the soothing sound of cascading water was unforgettable. The views are breathtaking and the whole property feels peaceful and private. The food was outstanding too — delicious fresh meals that we looked forward to every time. A true gem with great hospitality, comfort, and location. Highly recommended!

Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely beautiful, especially being right in front of the river — the view and atmosphere were so relaxing and peaceful. The hot water was not working at all, and the shower water pressure was extremely poor. Another misleading part was that they mention having a swimming pool, but there is actually no swimming pool at the property. It’s only a river bathing area The hotel is very isolated with no nearby shops or places to buy even basic things, which was really inconvenient. They do have a restaurant, but honestly the food quality was not good and did not meet expectations. Also, the last 1 km road to the hotel is in very bad condition and difficult to travel, especially at night or during rainy weather.

This hotel is located in a piece of paradise. Perfectly situated by the train tracks, in a tea plantation and amidst lush nature. The owners, father and son, are very professional and committed to their customers. They really want to arrange everything for you, such as our train journey or a tour. They also give good advice about traveling in Sri Lanka. Lovely people.

Had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. The location is excellent and very convenient, with beautiful views from the room that made the stay even more enjoyable. The restaurant offered good food with a nice atmosphere, and the customer service was very friendly, professional, and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would recommend this hotel to others.

The most beautiful scenery steps in front of your room, while the sounds of the river are heard from everywhere on the property keeping you relaxed 24/7 and giving you a good night's sleep! The hospitality was incredible, I felt so well taken care of by the wonderful family! Room was so much bigger and more modern than I expected. Food was absolutely delicious! They organized everything to make the trip hassle free... private transport from and back to Colombo, river-side massage, and nature treks with an excellent guide that knocked every species off my list! I can't wait to come back and stay much, much longer.

Increible lugar frente al rio rodeado de selva! Son unas cabañas amplias, bonitas y limpias, frente al rio en el que puedes bañarte. Es precioso. La cena riquisima y nos organizaron la excursion por la selva en el que pudimos ver un monton de animales. Una gran experiencia la verdad!

Die Lage am Fluss ist wunderschön. Die Glühwürmchen schimmern am Abend nachdem die Affen durch die Wipfel gezogen sind. Die Zimmer sind einfach aber schön. Schon die Anfahrt mit dem Jeep ist ein Abenteuer. Der Eintritt in den Park ist nur mit Guide möglich. Wir haben die Tagestour durch den Regenwald gemacht und unser Guide war super. Er sprach sehr gut englisch, hat sofort erkannt, wie wir ticken und sich darauf eingestellt. Wir haben echt viele Tiere gesehen. Das Personal war auch sehr nett und hilfsbereit.

Das Essen war o.k., aber das ist auch Geschmackssache.

The location is beautiful and remote. Constant white noise from the river, and an under cover verandah for admiring the view. Good restaurant, breakfasts were particularly good and we enjoyed having them outside on verandah. Staff very lovely, communication good.

Don't know what they can do about the unreliable electricity, but to call a room Deluxe, you really need to have air conditioning. I'm getting old and I found the heat and humidity stifling and unrelenting. Access via genuine 4x4 track, so we had to leave our little car a couple of kilometres away near the village.

Awesome and adventurous spot right on a raging river. My partner saw an otter which is very rare, we also did a rainforest hike which was easy planned though the family who own the accommodation and restaurant (night walk was great my 7 year old says). Nowhere else to eat but the restaurant, it was fine for us over the 3 nights. We did a self guided hike too, which was awesome because the views and landscape are absolutely breathtaking. If you go here, you are staying here, it is remote but totally worth it.

We loved this accomodation. This was my favourite place we stayed in Sri Lanka. The location was simply stunning. The accomodation is reached via a jeep and the journey up to it is a bit of an adventure in itself, be prepared for a bumpy steep track! Once there, you are surrounded by rainforest and right next to a gorgeous stream. Again be prepared the stream and small waterfal is noisy, for me this was relaxing and not an issue though as I loved listening to it when I went to sleep. The value of this accomodation is amazing for the unique experience you get once there. Yes the rooms are basic but have everything you need. They are clean and comfy and the view from the balcony was lovely. Food was fantastic, made fresh to order. Large portions, good variety, good quality and good price. We arranged two rainforest tours through the accomodation. They provided everything we needed, gave us lifts to meet our guide and get to the entrance. The stream outside was perfect to swim in and relax next to in the afternoon. If you love nature, you will love it here.

It was quite and serene and exactly what I was hoping for.

Perfect location. It is really a Hideaway. The water stream is amazing. We had a good swim there. Very peaceful stay. You only hear the continuous and constant sound from the water stream. Food served was great. Staff is very helpful and flexible... It is a family run properly.

Amazing service from the owner - responds to any request on WhatsApp almost immediately. The rover was a lifesaver during the heat and wonderful to go explore. Beds were comfortable and clean. Balcony on our room was great. The night trek tour we did was well organized with a great guide. I also really recommend the Ayurvedic herbal massage - was just the icing on the cake!!

I’d warn those with a bad back that the jeep ride up to the property is long and very bumpy. Unfortunately my husband couldn’t manage our second scheduled tour bc the trek in and out of the hotel was a bit much. This isn’t anything against the property - but just advising others. For most people this will be fine. The other improvement would be bug nets. We wanted to leave the room doors open to let in a bit of cool air but then got a lot of bug bites.

Incredible remote location right next to a waterfall seemingly miles from anywhere!!! The hosts pick you up in a very battered landrover to tackle the bumpiest mud track for the last 1km which is exhilarating to say the least! It is amazing that in such a location they have managed to build such wonderful lodges, equipped with huge and comfortable beds, and serve delicious food. We did a 4 hour walk in the Sinharaja forest which was hot and humid but beautiful to walk through dense rainforest with sightings of lizards, spiders, millipedes, snakes and scorpion. Not as much wildlife as I expected but then they are wild!

Nothing. Be aware the WiFi can be very patchy understandably as in such remoteness but the owner let me use his hotspot which was perfect

We had an amazing stay. The location is truly stunning, surrounded by beautiful nature, and the room was very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent, and the staff were consistently friendly and helpful. The rainforest tour was extremely well organized and a real highlight of the trip. We enjoyed our stay a lot and would happily return.

Rainforest Hideaway is an amazing place to spend some free time if you visit Sinharaja Forest. Rainforest Hideway is a family-owned business. This family shows exactly what the Sri Lankan hospitality is all about. Household cooked tasty meals is your choice. Rooms are clean and comfy beds, and sometimes even 5 star hotels do not have. Location of this Hideaway is exceptional. It is on the banks of Ging Ganga (River). Tranquil place to relax and dream. The family is friendly, polite, and very helpful. They organized my trip to Sinharaja Forest, also getting me a very knowledgeable guide to accompany me. Guides name is Sagara Jayasinghe, wow! this guy cared deeply about the nature. I would recommend Rainforest Hideaway to anybody who is looking for a relaxing holiday. This is a hidden gem in Sri Lanka. Wonderful and unforgettable stay!

Wir waren für drei respektive zwei Tage im Rainforest Hideaway. Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und haben die Zeit dort sehr genossen. Das Zimmer bzw. Häuschen ist relativ simpel eingerichtet (die Dusche etwas improvisiert), reicht aber vollkommen aus. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Umgebung ist schön gestaltet. Der Wasserfall war natürlich das Highlight. Wir buchten zusätzlich eine Long-Tour-Wanderung, die super organisiert war. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt!

Everything was perfect

Tähän mennessä paras hotelli Sri Lankassa sijaintinsa takia. Haluan tänne takaisin. Todellinen aarre joen takia. Henkilökunta auttaa myös aivan kaikessa. Lapsetkin rakastivat paikkaa. Sri Lankan aamupala oli todella hyvä. Kävelymatkan päässä on kauppoja ja pidemmän kävelymatkan päässä myös ravintoloita.

Huoneessa voisi olla jääkaappi. Ravintolan ruokia voisi kehittää maistuvammiksi. Kahvi oli hyvin laimeaa vaikka pyysimme vahvaa kahvia. Kannattaa ottaa omaa pikakahvia mukaan.

La propriété est à la lisière du parc national de Sinarja rain forest. On accède à l'hotel sur des pistes en rang rover. L'hôtel est en fait un ensemble de petits bungalows tout confort autour d'un restaurant réception entre la jungle et les plantations de thé. La rivière court 10 m en contre-bas. On peut s'y baigner sans risque, un souvenir inoubliable.

Everything was amazing. The location itself is stunning. You get there with a short 4x4 ride to where the cottages are located, right next to a waterfall that has some natural swimming areas in it. Our kids (and us) had a great time going through the rapids, jumping off rocks and exploring the area around. There are very little stores around the area, but the mother of the family cooks on site for bf, lunch and dinner. Everything is delicious, even our picky kids had options to choose from. All in all a real gem of a stay, the whole family owning/running it are lovely and we cannot recommend enough

The place was very nice and cozy. Room was clean and there was lots of space. Waterfall was a great place to swim! They organized our trips to rainforest and we got excellent guide for us! They also organized our arrival and our trip to Udawalawe national park and transport to Tangalle. This was our best place in Sri Lanka holiday!

There was nothing that we did not like.
