Location on the edge of the rainforest was amazing with the wildlife and birds coming in to beautiful gardens and ponds to visit. Staff organise all rainforest excursions with amazing guides- especially our guide Sagara who could find anything in the forest.

A little more control of noisy large groups. Consider establishing lower pathway below rooms as a walkway to increase privacy for guests.

We had a wonderful and memorable stay at Sinharaja Forest Edge. We were fortunate to get a beautiful room with both a garden view and a pool view, which made our stay even more relaxing and enjoyable. One of the highlights was the opportunity to explore the Sinharaja Rainforest with a knowledgeable guide arranged by the hotel. It was a fantastic experience and made our visit to the rainforest much more enjoyable and informative. The hotel also has a clean and well-maintained restaurant, with good food and a pleasant atmosphere. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. Another major advantage is the hotel's location. It is very close to the Pitadeniya Entrance of the Sinharaja Rainforest, making it an ideal place to stay for anyone planning to explore the rainforest. Overall, we had a fantastic experience at .... Die Lage war super, der Eingang zum Nationalpark liegt 1 Gehminute entfernt. Wir hatten über die Unterkunft einen tollen Guide, der wirklich alles über die Flora und Fauna dort weiß, große Empfehlung! Wlan hat gut funktioniert. Frühstück war superund die Dame an der Rezeption war sehr nett und hilfreich. Pool war sehr gut und das Gelände wunderschön

Die Wasserpumpe (o.Ä.) war extrem laut in der Nacht, wir mussten mir Oropax schlafen. Man ist sehr an das Restaurant gebunden (auch beim Wasserkauf), was verhältnismäßig teuer war. Es gab mehrere sehr süße Hunde, die leider sehr dünn waren und uns leidtaten, wir durften sie aber nicht füttern. Ich verstehe es zwar, aber die Hunde leben ja nun sowieso dort, also könnte man sie auch ernähren. Es ist etwas schimmelig dort und es gab nur kaltes Wasser und keinen Föhn. Corsicht vor Blutegeln auf dem Weg zum Pool, mein Freund hat sich einen eingefangen!

The hotel is literally on the edge of the Sinharaja Rainforest, so you wake up to bird sounds and monkeys in the trees. The staff Super friendly and helpful.

We stayed at Sinharaja Forest Edge Hotel for 2 nights and it was exactly what we needed - quiet, green, and close to nature.

De locatie is fantastisch, midden in de jungle, waardoor het uitzicht op de bomen en planten en de geluiden van de dieren geweldig is. Het zwembad is heerlijk met prachtig uitzicht. Ideaal is dat de jungle wandeling start bij het restaurant van de accommodatie. Kun je via hen boeken. Aanrader! Ontbijt was prima. De eerste ochtend werden wij aan onze tafel bediend, de tweede ochtend stond een buffet klaar. Dat laatste scheelde wat tijd.

Prachtige locatie voor de ingang van Sinharaja Forest! Heerlijk zwembad met fantastische uitzicht en supervriendelijk personeel. Niets was hen te veel. Onze zoon was daar jarig en ze hadden zelf een taart met kaarsjes voor hen geregeld. Echt top!

Duurt wel lang voordat je een warme douche hebt en een kleine straal. Maar dat mocht de pret niet drukken….

Supermooie familiekamer met 2 slaapkamers. Hele gave safari gedaan met een hele goede gids. Medewerkers waren heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam.

Had a wonderful stay here! The property is located just about 50 meters from the Pitadeniya entrance of the Sinharaja Rainforest, making it a perfect base for exploring the area. The surroundings are peaceful and relaxing, the room was spacious and comfortable, and the food was delicious. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Overall, a great place with excellent hospitality.

The road leading to the property is not in the best condition, but the hosts conveniently offer a cab service. The bathroom sink tap was not working properly, there were some ants coming from the shower area, and the bathroom could have been cleaner.

It was so close to one of the entrance to the forest (acrually kind of next door) and this will be a good selection if you have such a plan. And the staff was so friendly as I had to do some changes with my reservation and they were still comparative.

Entrance road was a challenged. But still the staff was so supportive.

The place is very good. The food is good. Especially the breakfast.

They charged us more than the amount we agree with booking.com.

Staff were lovely, responsive and helpful. Quick to respond to requests for the room and for food. Location was perfect for a forest hike; you wouldn't even need to book a guide before coming. Pool was alright and restaurant / bar was nice.

It would be better to have a kettle in the room with cups for tea/coffee and a blanket on the bed. If the curtains could completely close with hooks or pins that would also be better for privacy.

Good value , set in a beautiful garden with a nice small pool. On site rest/bar open until 10.00pm- can also get water, ice cream , alcohol to enjoy on room or by pool.. Excellent guided bird watching walk in village, seen many different brightly coloured birds including 4 types of kingfishers. Lovely rainforest trek to waterfall for a dip. Guide was very knowledgable .

I had a very basic room with a fan , no ac. Ended up getting lots of bites, as no mosquito net, not all mosquito. Be prepared .

Alles super. Der Pool ist gepflegt. Das Essen war sehr gut. Wir wurden von der Bushaltestelle abgeholt und wieder hingebracht. Auch die Dschungeltour war toll.

Kaffee gibt es erst halb sechs. Den könnte es schon um 3 geben;-)

We booked the room the night before and were able to communicate our needs with the staff, who were responsive and attentive. They organized a tour for us on short notice, which we really appreciated. The food was also delicious, both the included meals (breakfast and lunch) as well as dinner. A cosy stay run by a very service-friendly team. The room was big and clean and extremely pleasant, a few steps away from the forest.

The location is perfect, right near the entrance to the forest and the surrounding property is beautiful and lush.

The location of Forest Edge is perfect. Beyond the Forest, the gorgeous lily ponds and lush garden surrounding the property were an unexpected bonus. The rooms (we had 2 nights in a non-aircon standard room and 1 night in a deluxe aircon room) were both well arranged and comfortable. The standard room was basic but very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The aircon room was well worth the extra and included a table and two chairs on the verandah to sit overlooking the lovely garden, which we much enjoyed. The tours were well organised and reasonably priced. Both the early morning Bird Watching tour and the half-day Forest Trek were so interesting and enjoyable. The Forest and birds are truly wonderful. The Restaurant food was particularly good, with an excellent manager and very pleasant staff. Also thoroughly recommend the massage service available. One of the best I have had in Sri Lanka and the perfect way to relax after a forest trek.

The location and that they kept our cars safe in the village and got a jeep to take us to the hotel

The cabana had a bad sewer smell. Also there us no pic of the inside of the cabana so only at site we realised that all beds are bunk beds and no AC goes up, and it was not clean under the mattress

This is a great location - right on the edge of the forest - within 20 metres of the ticket office. They team lined up an excellent guide for our one day trek. We also did an early morning bird watching tour with him which was good. There is nature all around - a water monitor in the fish pond and rare white monkeys in the trees above. As a bonus just up the road is an incongruously excellent ice cream stall

The room wasn't the most comfortable but fine for the price range. Food was not as good as we've had elsewhere and there aren't many other options. But this is right on the edge of the forest so all else is secondary.

Unglaubliche Lage, direkt am Eingang des Regenwaldes. Großer Essbereich mit leckerem Buffet. Schöner Blick auf den Garten und Seerosenteich.

Zimmer sind leider ein wenig feucht, aber wir sind hier im Regenwald und es regnet sehr viel. Sonst alles sauber.

Location was great. Right by rainforest and the grounds were full of wildlife. Monkeys, birds, lizards, spiders etc. Breakfast was good with excellent freshly made omlettes.

The scam is to put people in a damp, smelly, ugly room then offer them an upgrade for extra money. We contested this and got a free upgrade but the showers didn’t have any water apart from a trickle even though room was better. Dinner was poor for the money- little choice and poor quality. They basically want to fleece you with rooms and tours. Also we had laundry done as desperate - very expensive!!! Go to village and get it done for a fraction of the price.

Very beautiful setting! The location is right on the edge of the forest so you can enter it very easily on foot (with a guide). There is great nature on site - we saw lots of lizards, birds, butterflies, monkeys and even a snake. There are also 2 very cute puppies! It was very peaceful. The food was great. It was a buffet breakfast (included in the price) and buffet dinner which typically included curry or kottu type dishes. Some reviews complained about this being expensive, but I think 2500r for a buffet meal is reasonable given the remote location and the fact you can go back for more. There's also a lunch and drinks menu, though we didn't use this. Our (upgraded) room had good Aircon and the bed was comfortable. The pool is nice, but we found a leech in there so be careful. The hotel arranged to collect us for free from a local village in a jeep because the entrance is on a dirt road that would be quite hard for a taxi or tuk tuk to get through. This was really helpful. The staff work hard. They even brought breakfast back out for us one morning even though we had missed the breakfast slot because of our jungle walk. We really appreciated this.

As soon as we arrived we were shown different rooms to upgrade to. This meant we got a better room with Aircon (for an extra $10 a night) but it felt quite pushy on the moment of arrival and I heard them do the same with all other new guests that arrived. I'm glad we upgraded because our initial rooms looked pretty bad...this was the cabin opposite the pool - the beds were tiny, there were holes in the walls and no aircon or mosquito net. The rooms we changed to were much better - the double rooms opposite the pond. It felt like this is possibly a ploy they use to show people the 'bad rooms' so that they upgrade for the more expensive rooms. Tours were also pushed on us when we arrived. We opted for an external morning birdwatching tour which was good, so can't comment on what the hotel's jungle tour was like. However, we opted into the night tour which was a bit disappointing. The guide was nice and knew of different things to point out, but the path was just up the road we arrived on, not the jungle. Our group had already done this walk ourselves in the day - it was nothing particularly special as we spent a lot of time walking past people's homes and shops etc. It felt overpriced for what it was ($30 each), but were told that this was the price for including headlamp and leech socks, so it may be cheaper if you bring your own stuff. However, I wouldn't recommend it - you could do the same walk yourself for free, and probably see fewer insects etc without the guide, but a lot of the creatures we'd seen in the jungle walk earlier in the day anyway. I would recommend looking for external tours before you arrive, as the ones offered by the hotel seem overpriced. The shower in our room didn't get hot and the tap was constantly flowing a small amount as it didn't turn off properly. This was an annoying noise to sleep to and also wasteful. We had a mini fridge in our room which was nice to keep our water cold.

The first room we were given had a very strong mold smell and visible mold signs all over wall. One of the walls was completely wet and damp. I contacted the manager immediately. She did not come to see the problem herself and instead sent staff members. We were told we had to pay an additional 30 USD to change to another room without mold. After discussion, this was reduced to 20 USD extra. Unfortunately, the second room was also unacceptable. During the night, there was a strong smell of human feces. At first, we thought it was coming from outside, but then our child woke up feeling sick because of the smell. We discovered that the odor was coming from the bedding itself (blanket bag). It was clear that the bedding had not been properly cleaned. If you care about your child’s health, please do not book this accommodation. Mold is toxic to humans, and the mold smell in the first room was extremely strong. This was a very unpleasant experience, especially while staying with a child. Serious hygiene issues and poor handling by management.

Het terras uitkijkend op de jungle en de vijver was geweldig! Veel wilde dieren vanaf daar al kunnen zien, zoals een grote zwemmende varaan, zwarte apen en prachtige vogels.

Alles soweit ok, besser ist es, unten zu wohnen, da dort Sitzgelegenheiten vor den Zimmern sind. Moskitonetz ist empfehlenswert, da ich einige Moskitos tummeln.

В номере и бассейне не большая 2х спальная кровать, примерно 1,5 м. Мы сразу смотрели размещение 2+1, и с ребёнком (года) еле поместились. Равнозначной замены не предложили, потому что 2х местные номера все были заняты. Но над нами был один 3х местный (а нас как раз было 3 взр и 1 ребёнок и забронировано 2 номера), так вот нам предложили 1 номер заменить на трёхместный, там хорошая большая кровать и ещё односпальная. По стоимости в 2 раза выше. Мы просили оба наших номера заменить на 1 большой, всё равно получалось с доплатой. Но нам отказали) говорят один заменим, а 2 нет😄 не невыгодно получается. Это было очень неприятно. Но предлагали матрас, который можно положить на пол🤣 спасибо великодушно, но мы отказались. В остальном всё отлично.

Staff were so friendly and helpful. We were very happy to have stayed here. We used their bird guide (mandatory in reserve) twice and he was an excellent naturalist. The garden setting was beautiful. Food was excellent.

The room wasn't as advertised although still decent. Although the room has a big window/door which is great, it's in front of the main walkway so whenever anyone walks past they can see in your room unless you close the curtains. Also, the walks were expensive in relation to the cost of the park ticket and the night walk was mainly through the village which I could have done myself for free. It certainly wasn't worth $30 despite the creatures that the guide points out

Room not as described, no outside seating , no fridge. Buffet food was limited choice and expensive.Loud karaoke party that ended in shouting and brawling locals until early hours

Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Especially the housekeeper did a wonderful job - always friendly even though he had lots to do. The restaurant was able to keep our big family very happy. Location right next to the park entrance is wonderful and we saw lots of birds in the hotel garden. The kids loved the pool!

This property is very calm and clean, and the food is also good. It is one of the nearest hotels to Sinharaja Forest, and they also provide guide services, which is very convenient.

One small drawback is the presence of outside dogs, which can be a little disturbing. Better control of this would improve the overall experience. Otherwise, the stay was good.

Das Ressort liegt direkt am Zugang zum Regenwald. Die gebuchte Tour war großartig. Zugang zu diesem Zeitpunkt nur über Allrad Autos , was das einchecken verzögerte aber schon abenteuerlich war, da wir abgeholt wurden. Frühstück und Essen ok.

Wasserdruck und Wärme der Dusche könnten besser sein. Dafür stylisches Badezimmer mit Felsen in der Wanne .

wir hatten ein Doppelzimmer mit Poolblick gebucht das eines der Zimmer total mit Schimmel voll was vor allem am Kopfende des Betts und ich allergisches Asthma habe mussten wir ein upgrade auf ein teureres Zimmer nehmen . Erwartet hätte ich vom Hotel eine kostenlose alternative

Die Lage war super, direkt am Eingang und mitten in der Natur. Die Umgebung (Teich, Garten) ist schön gestaltet. Das Personal war sehr nett und die Regenwaldtour war sehr gut.

Wir hatten viele tote Insekten im Bett als wir das Zimmer frisch bezogen. Mitten in der Nacht floss Wasser (es regnete nicht) aus einem Rohr aus etwa 2m Höhe direkt auf das Dach unseres Zimmers, dies war extrem laut und wir konnten nicht schlafen. Von aussen sah es aus als würde der Wassertank direkt auf unser Zimmerdach geleert werden. Das Essen war auch nicht wirklich gut, für den Preis den man bezahlte.

What an amazing place with great service. Just few steps from rain forest.

Location was great. It was right on the forest edge. The swimming pool was beautiful and we saw so much wildlife around (birds, squirrels and monkeys). There were also puppies that lived at the property that we loved spending time with. Our server in the restaurant there was such a lovely man. He waited just by our table every time we took a sip of a new drink or started eating our food to make sure we were happy. Our tour guide, Sagara, was also excellent and so smiley! We picked the adventure tour and Sagara was very knowledgeable about the jungle and clearly loved his job. My boyfriend was feeling unwell at the time and he was very kind and understanding during our tour and helped us get rid of the leeches!

We went with the two bed suite because it was so reasonably priced and we thought we’d treat ourselves as it’s Christmas, but I think the smaller rooms with the patio doors facing the lakes are the more scenic rooms to pick.

Der Pool war klasse und die Location direkt am Eingang zum Regenwald. DasGelände ist liebevoll hergerichtet mit Teich und Bepflanzung usw

Leider war das von uns gebuchte Zimmer nicht verfügbar. Erst meinte sie es sei ein Fenster kaputt, aber es gab wohl einen Orga-Fehler, weshalb es schon anders vergeben war. Ehrliche Kommunikation wäre netter gewesen. Die. Übrigen 3 Zimmer die wir bekommen hatten waren muffig, schimmlig und das Wasser im Bad ist nicht abgeflossen. Geschlafen haben wir schlecht und auch die Laundry kostet Geld, obwohl es in der Anzeige den Eindruck macht als wäre sie in dem eigentlich von uns gebuchten Zimmer inklusive.

Aardige staf en op een prachtige plek met goed ontbijt. Je loopt zo Sinharaja forest in voor een jungle trek. Wij hadden 2 jungle treks (1x nacht, 1x dag) gedaan met gids Sagara, hij vertelde vol enthousiasme over de dieren en planten die we tegenkwamen, en hebben oa verschillende soorten slangen, lizards en apen gezien. S middags konden we uitrusten bij het zwembad. De staf regelde veel voor ons en was altijd vriendelijke :).

Wir wurden sehr herzlich aufgenommen. Vor allem Nishu hat sich hervorragend um uns gekümmert! VIELEN DANK dafür. Außerdem waren wir auch sehr mit dem leckeren Essen, den sauberen Zimmern und dem freundlichen Personal zufrieden. Die Führungen durch den Regenwald waren super.

Heel dicht bij de ingang van het regenwoud. Alles was aanwezig wat je nodig hebt! We zijn er 1 nacht geweest en hebben de nachttour en ochtend tour gedaan. Heel mooi allemaal! De gids was ook erg aardig en kon ons veel laten zien!

It had a nice location with a beautiful poolside view and lots of nature. Surprisingly, there weren't that many bugs that came inside for the fact that there were openings in the roof. We saw many jungle animals roaming around the hotel, very beautiful.

There were holes in the roof to the outside, which made it noisy when it became busy at the weekend. Also, it was really noisy with people upstairs. Would have loved to know while booking that the room had openings to the outside. While I love nature, the idea of a big spider running over me at night kept me up all night. Also, curtains couldn't fully close, and it made us feel watched.

Der Garten außerhalb war sehr schön und das Personal im Restaurant war sehr freundlich.

In einem Zimmer wurden wir im Bad von Ameisen überlaufen. Anstatt uns ein anderes Zimmer zu geben (wir waren zu der Zeit die einzigen Gäste) wurde erst mit viel Chemie versucht sie zu beseitigen was nicht möglich war und wir dann doch nach viel Diskussion Zimmer wechseln durften.
