Great venue/house, I was only passing through on my way to George so arrived late afternoon and left quite early the next morning. But the reception was great, friendly and they gave me some great tips for places to grab a bite to eat and a beer. Didn't stay for breakfast but had hot coffee ready when I woke up and packed me a nice filter-coffe in my flask for the road.

James, the friendly host, welcomed us. He gave us a tour of the guest house and made sure that we were comfortable. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and very clean. Old-fashioned charm mixed with modern. We will definitely book this Guesthouse again when we pass through Graaff-Reinet on our next trip.

The location is absolutely ideal within Graaf-Reinet. Restaurants, coffee shops and historical attractions all within a short walk. Rooms are spacious with beds that will ensure you hit the snooze button for that extra 5 minutes. All topped off by the friendly and ever helpful host James

Everything was perfect

Warm and friendly staff and a lovely seating and braai area beside the pool to relax and enjoy the garden. We enjoyed a fresh home cooked breakfast and will definately be back.

An armchair in the room would have been appreciated as there was more than enough space.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sundays Karoo Guesthouse. Cathleen was warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful, taking the time to provide information and recommendations on activities and attractions in the area. Her hospitality made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived. The guesthouse itself offers a wonderful experience of staying in a beautifully restored old Cape Dutch home. James has clearly invested considerable effort into preserving the character and heritage of the property while ensuring guests have all the comforts they need. The traditional atmosphere adds greatly to the overall experience. My room was spacious, comfortable, and well appointed, providing a relaxing place to unwind after a day of exploring the Karoo. Breakfast was delicious, beautifully presented, and served in a welcoming dining area with a cosy fire burning in the background, which was especially appreciated during the cold winter mornings. I would happily stay here again and highly recommend Sundays Karoo Guesthouse to anyone looking for authentic Karoo hospitality, comfort, and character.

It was a very sweet place.

Our host Peter was perfectly kind and helpful and made us feel welcome from the start. The breakfast menu where we could list our preferences was very clever. Everything was spotless and the rooms are beautiful. The location is perfect and the guesthouse looks inviting from the second you look upon it. The beds were comfortable and we all slept so well. The showers were lovely, great water pressure.

There was absolutely nothing to possibly not be positive about.

The owner and staff were most helpful with everything I needed.

This is a special little gem. Cathleen, Pieter and Jane were incredible hosts. Cathleen booked a dinner reservation for us, which was a lovely extra touch. The location is perfect and the guest house has a ton of character, but also really lovingly and well maintained.

I loved the location of the property. I loved how comfortable the bed and pillows were and I loved how homely it felt.

Muito bom pequeno almoço com uma excelente apresentação, elegante e clássica, muito rara nos tempos atuais. Quarto e casa de banho espaçosos e confortáveis. Sala de refeições muito bonita, aliás como todo o edifício principal, uma relíquia de 1870 muito bem preservada.

It was in a quiet location. Very attractive property with the old country/farms style charm. Was beautifully maintained and clean. Very spacious room and lovely bathroom. Cathleen was very welcoming and nothing was too much for her to do to ensure our comfort. Breakfast excellent.

The Guesthouse is very well located with good secure parking, the bed was so comfortable, very nice to sit out the back and work in such a tranquil environment.

Absolut hervorragend war der Empfang und die Betreuung durch Cathleen… sehr professionell und herzlich… das guesthouse ist gemütlich und toll eingerichtet. Tolles Frühstück und eine tolle Atmosphäre. Es lohnt sich wiederzukommen.

Very comfortable, huge bed. The staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. Nice swimmingpool, highly appreciated on a day with temperatures up to 35 C. I couldn't have been any more happy with my two-night stay.

Die Lage mitten in Graaff Reinet ermöglicht auch abendliche Spaziergänge zum Restaurant oder ins nahegelegene Café. Der Garten ist wunderschön angelegt und ermöglicht tolle Momente egal ob man entspannen will oder mit anderen Gästen ins Gespräch kommen will. Das Ambiente der Räume versetzt einen in längst vergangene Zeiten und lädt auch abends zum verweilen ein (Lesezimmer). Das Personal versucht alle Wünsche zu ermöglichen - einen großen Dank an dieser Stelle nochmal.

Bei Windstille hatten wir etwas mit den Moskitos zu kämpfen aber das kann man der Unterkunft nicht anlasten. Die Saloon Tür am Bad war aber etwas ungewöhnlich...

Loved everything- our room was beautiful with the huge bed - much appreciated. The beautiful public rooms and the lovely pool - great for a cool down in the heat of the day. The gardens were lovely and the breakfast was delicious- don’t miss it! Best of all was the kind welcome and advice from Peter and Jane - was much appreciated- they are both exceptional hosts - thank you for a great stay- we hope to be back soon!

We had a lovely breakfast with very friendly staff. The front house lady is extremely nice and welcoming as well as very accommodating. We enjoyed a beer sitting under the grape vine in the garden looking up at Spionkop mountain. We will return.

Es war von Anfang an eine nette und unkomplizierter Umgang mit allen vor Ort. Es fühlte sich an als wäre man bei Familie. Das leckere Frühstück rundet das ganze noch perfekt ab. Ich würde wieder genau hierhin fahren wollen.

Beautiful historic building with extremely high ceilings, which keeps the inside nice and cool in the hot Karoo summer. The host was very welcoming and helpful with suggestions on what to see and where to eat and pretty much anything you want to go to, was within short walking distance.

Having the pool to cool off in was great. It's location is perfect, close to shops & restaurants & easy drive to the Valley of Desolation. Dinner was even booked on our behalf at a local restaurant!

Beautiful and charming

A bit noisy in the house especially when people depart at 05:00 am and we only check out later. I forgot to mention to Peter that the aircon was broken. After about 5-10 min of being on, the aircon made terrible clicking noises. We had to switch ir on and off during the whole night.

Peter (owner) is a great guy and makes you feel welcome from the get go. This establishment is an oasis in the Karoo. The room is well thought out with detailed attention towards a high quality product and finishes.
