J’ai fait 2 mois au Mexique dans tous types de dortoirs, celui là était le pire de tous. C’était extrêmement sale. N’allez pas là bas et n’attendez pas de voir d’autres commentaires pour prendre une décision, ne réservez juste surtout pas là bas. J’ai prit un dortoir et meme la porte etait écaillée a cause de l’humidité et la moisissure. Des boules de cheveux sur les murs, sur le sol, des fourmis, une eau stagnante noire dans la baignoire, de la moisissure aux murs, la chambre infestée de moustiques, quand je suis arrivée dans la chambre j’étais toute seule dans le dortoir, et bien j’ai tres vite compris pourquoi. J’ai dû booker un autre hostel et je suis partie. Le personnel ne m’a evidemment pas remboursée, ils en ont rien à fouttre. Evitez à TOUT PRIX cet hostel. En plus il ne correspond en rien aux photos zen et paradis qu’on vous vend ici.

L’emplacement du logement est bon

Logement sale, draps sales, chambre remplie de moisissures et sol sale. Le ménage n’a manifestement pas été fait avant notre arrivée. Nous avons retrouvé plusieurs insectes morts au sol, qui semblaient être présents depuis un certain temps. La photo de présentation du logement a été prise sous un angle très avantageux, qui ne permet pas de se rendre compte de l’état réel de la chambre, notamment de la présence de moisissures et de la peinture qui s’écaille. Une forte odeur d’humidité est également présente dans le logement.

Uno degli ostelli migliori dove io sia mai stato negli ultimi 7 anni di viaggio in giro per il mondo. - Ostello molto accogliente e pulito - Staff super gentile e disponibile - Cucina in comune super attrezzata - Stanza ampia con letto comodo e bagno in camera - Aria condizionata nella stanza - Noleggio bici gratuito - Colazione molto basica ma inclusa nel prezzo - In generale ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo - Ottima posizione - Ambiente rilassato e silenzioso perfetto per riposare

Non do mai 10 come punteggio, ma questo ostello merita il massimo perché è tutto perfetto.

Petit hotel calme et bien tenu. Si vous souhaitez faire la fête vous n'avez qu'à traverser la rue. Très bon wifi. Le lagon n'est qu'à quelques minutes à pied pour se baigner dès le matin et le centre de Bacalar est seulement à 5 min. Les vélos mis à disposition sont un vrai plus !

La qualité du matelas, trop mou...ça va pour quelques nuits maximum.

‘Gratis ontbijt’ bestaat uit een stuk fruit en koffie en thee. Maar niet elke ochtend is dit er. Kan je geen ontbijt noemen. Luidruchtig hostel. Je kan mensen in ruimtes verderop woordelijk verstaan.

Locatie is fijn en de sfeer is goed. Goed uitgeruste keuken. En veel plekken om te chillen.

Privékamers zijn niet heel ‘privé’. Je kan alles verstaan wat in de keuken/common area wordt gezegd. Daar meerdere keren van wakker geworden. Tot drie keer toe moesten we nieuwe handdoeken vragen, omdat we steeds handdoeken met vlekken erop kregen. Uiteindelijk kregen we wel een soort van schone handdoeken. Er is geen gratis ontbijt. Althans, het bestaat uit een stuk fruit en koffie/thee. Maar slechts op 3 van de 5 ochtenden was dit er. Personeel spreekt niet/nauwelijks Engels. Ook niet met inchecken en uitchecken.

Location. Friendly staff. (But not trained)

Moldy room, smelling damp, dirty toilets, staff sitting around doing nothing but place needed a good clean. , forgot our laundry, didnt know how to operate coffee machine. Bathroom looks nice but totally impractical. Sink with nowhere to put soap or towels. Bins not emptied. Basucally volunteers with no training or motivation.

Loved the hostel and the people that work here so much. Very good vibes, clean and stylish accommodation where you feel at home from the beginning.

Proximité avec le lagon

Mauvaise expérience dans cet hostel. 1/ Manque d'organisation et de communication, hostel géré par des volontaires qui ne sont pas assez impliqués. On a reçu des informations contradictoires, on nous a parlé de messages de confirmation plusieurs fois que nous n'avons jamais reçu concernant les activités et excursions. 2/ Absence de petit déjeuner !! Soit disant parce que nous étions "hors saison" alors qu'il y a écrit sur notre réservation "petit déjeuner exceptionnel compris", sans s'excuser de cette mauvaise information. 3/ Le linge donné n'était pas propre (taches sur les serviettes et draps). Les WC ne possèdent pas de brosse donc ils ne sont pas propres. Des fils électriques sont apparents à proximité de l'eau... 4/ Les photos rendent beaucoup mieux que ce que c'est en réalité. 5/ L'excursion à Caye Caulker booké avec eux a été catastrophique. Le trajet dont ils nous on parlé n'était finalement pas celui réalisé par le tour. Le chauffeur était corrompu et nous a abandonné à la frontière parce que nous avons refusé de payer un pot de vin pour avoir un tampon de sortie. Nous avons demandé au chauffeur d'appeler l'hostel il a refusé. Bref je ne recommande pas cet hostel.

Eines meiner besten Hostels auf meiner Reise!! Toller, ruhiger Dorm mit viel Platz, leckeres kleines Frühstück, mega entspannte Atmosphäre und super nettes Personal! Perfekt an der Costiera gelegen - alles ist quasi fußläufig erreichbar.

la casa es muy interesante, con desniveles, terraza y muy lindas plantas varios lugares para estar y una linda cocina para cocinar

si no te toca el encargado principal (no recuerdo el nombre) los demas son voluntarios que hacen la suya y no estan muy atentos a los huespedes. De hecho no los podes distinguir

Emplacement au calme

Elmar hostel is small and beautiful with a nice unique design. The bunk beds have actual stairs so it’s easy to get in. You can see the lagoon from your bed. You can rent a bike for 3h for free.

The bathrooms were not super clean or didn’t have a hand soap available and some of the sinks were clogged, some toilets were not flushing or didn’t have seats. Staff was ok but not very friendly, provided just a bare minimum of information or help. It’s not for light sleepers, there are some pretty loud party spots nearby.

Als ich ankam, hatte es Stromausfall im ganzen Hotel, sodass ich das Hotel wechseln musste aber das Personal war sehe unkompliziert, freundlich und hilfsbereit und erstatteten mir den Betrag sofort zurück

Este hostal es genial! La cocina es bastante buena. El internet es bastante rápido, las camas estaban bastante cómodas. Definitivamente recomiendo este lugar.

Muy hermoso el Hostel y muy buen trato de sus trabajadores. Me encantó el lugar.

El hostal es muy bonito, aunque es un cuarto compartido el diseño de las camas hace que se sienta muy privada cada cama, aparte que son muy comodas. Todo el personal es muy atento y amigable, me preocupaba el internet ya que tenía que trabajar pero funciona excelente.

Creo que más opciones de desayunos haría aún mejor este lugar

O ar condicionado não atende toda extensão do quarto, então você vai sentir calor se ficar em uma beliche na extremidade.

- really good, stable, private beds - the dorms are nice - location is good. 5 mins to a nice municipal beach, many hostels around, 12 min would to main plaza - they clean a lot - free 1h of kayak - free bikes (if they work) - 90% off the staff is very nice

- in the female dorms you cannot really lock your stuff. There are lockers but always shared with another person (there is no diver between), so either another person always gets access to your stuff or if there is no other person everyone can just access your stuff - not super social. there are so many volunteers and they just hanging with each other, it doesn’t feel exclusive at all. More like you are interrupting their private party - there is another hostel just on the other side of the street which is REALLY loud sometimes. The windows were actually shaking. I whish I was kidding. - breakfast is delicious but the amount is too small (especially the sweet one) - the shower of the female dorm was not great. The water is coming out weirdly, some spots are soo strong, other so weak that you can barely get your hair wet

I loved everything in this hostel, the vibe, super chill and friendly, I felt directly like in a new family. The female dorm is very good, I slept so good! Very calm but social hostel. You can use biles and kayaks! I had a great time with the volunteers there, It was so nice that I extended m'y stay and I was very sad to leave...

Das Hostel hat eine super Lage bietet mit der Dachterrasse einen schönen Aufenthaltsbereich.

Im Allgemeinen zähle ich das leider zu einem meiner schlechteren Hostelbesuche. Die Mitarbeiter waren mehr mit sich beschäftigt und haben einem ein eher “störendes” Gefühl gegeben. Wir hatten ein privates Doppelzimmer, welches leider direkt neben der Küche gelegen war. Damit war es sehr früh ziemlich laut. In der einen Nacht kamen die Mitarbeiter nachts von einer Party wieder und haben in der Küche lautstark geredet und Musik gehört - damit war die Nacht um drei vorbei. Generell ist das Zimmer sehr dunkel und hat leider einen ziemlich modrigen Geruch.

La struttura ha una bella zona comune dove si può chiacchierare con altri ospiti. Il dormitorio femminile mi è piaciuto molto, pulito e ordinato, e ha dei bagni esclusivamente per donne di fronte alla stanza.

El ambiente es muy tranquilo y el personal muy amable. El hostal en sí es muy bonito.

Situé en plein centre ville, lits très confortables avec espace de rangement, étagères et rideaux isolant des autres occupants. Et l'hostel est très propre !

La douche et les toilettes sont juste en face de la chambre 6 lits réservés aux femmes, ce qui peut être un peu bruyant le soir/la nuit.

The location was perfect and the staff lovely and friendly. The female dorm was very comfortable with electrical points and lights per bed and a privacy curtain. The internet was strong and consistent. There was free drinking water and you could boil water all day for hot drinks. The kitchen was well appointed with everything you could need. Very clean. The patio was a lovely place to sit and relax. I left my underwater camera there and the staff held it for me to collect.

Beautiful, well maintained, clean. The kitchen had everything you would need including professional level knives and pans. The staff went above and beyond to make our day enjoyable. It felt like a big home. We used the kayaks, laundry and breakfast and in my opinion was one of the best value hostels I’ve stayed at.

Nothing negative at all. Only point is Elmar is across the road from a party hostel which on a Saturday played music loud.

Ich hab mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Angestellten sind unheimlich höflich und waren stets für alle Fragen offen. Die Atmosphäre war familiär/freundschaftlich und sehr relaxed. Kein Partyhostel, was ich sehr gut fand! Alles war sauber und die Betten sehr gemütlich. Man hat seine Bett-Nachbarn gar nicht mitbekommen. Dir Architekten des Hauses war super schön und perfekt für ein solches Hostel. Alles in Einem sehr zu empfehlen!

Die laute Musik am Freitag Abend vom Nachbarhostel. Dafür kann aber dieses Hostel nichts!

The portion size of the breakfast really wasn’t enough. A tiny bowl of Jogurt with some fruit isn’t a meal.

Fui a un evento social donde conocí gente nueva y la ansiedad social me paralizó por completo. Al día siguiente, tomé una decisión: la próxima vez que viajara, me alojaría en un hostal para trabajar activamente contra mi ansiedad. Di con ElMar Hostel por casualidad y lo reservé sin pensarlo dos veces, y resultó ser una de las mejores decisiones de mi vida. Pasé una semana mágica allí. Conocí gente increíble, comí comida deliciosa y, poco a poco, volví a disfrutar de la vida. Estoy eternamente agradecido con ElMar por devolverme mi personalidad. El personal era como de la familia y me sentí bienvenido desde el primer momento. Armando da la mejor primera impresión. Karla es mi confidente definitiva. Alan es como tu hermano pequeño, Gio como tu hermano mayor y Hann es el alma de la fiesta. Este lugar siempre tendrá un lugar especial en mi corazón.

It was comfortable for a couple of nights. They serve free breakfast: either fruit or some kind of Mexican food. It was a nice place to meet other travellers.

The neighbouring hostel had a big party until morning hours. It was very loud as if someone played music next to my ear.

This spot is amazing! Came back two weeks after my first trip because it was a great stay! Staff were always amazing and friendly and made my stay feel great! Answered any questions and had tons of great recommendations! Shout outs to Karla, she surprised me and got some of the staff like Hans to sing me Happy Birthday and made my day!! A day I’ll never forget! And always great seeing Canela, their beautiful and friendly dog 🐶 ♥️ she’s great! Thanks for the great memories and making me feel at home!!! 💪 😤 definitely recommend this spot!! 💯 😎

Good location, lovely staff.

We didn’t sleep 😞 there is an open air VERY loud party night/night club in the hostel next door until 3am on Saturdays. We didn’t know about this and had a sunrise Padel board trip booked for the next morning - I got one hour sleep, my boyfriend didn’t sleep at all. It really ruined our experience here. On other nights the very loud music finishes earlier.

Nos sentimos extremandamente cómodos en el hostal, Belen y yo venimos de Chile y seguido viajamos a hostales de viajeros, Elmar es extraordinario, el espacio circular te da la privacidad de no tener alguien enfrente, las instalaciones siempre están limpias. Y lo más improtante es que la energía del hostal es tan tranquila que uno puede realemente relajarse. Tambien especial agradecimiento a todo el equipo que nos hicieron sentir como en casa. Ahh hay lavandería gratis eso es maravilloso!!!

I loved everything about this hostel! The rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and offer privacy with the privacy curtain. The common areas are also beautiful, and we made use of the games available. For breakfast I always picked the fruit bowl and it was tasty and well presented. All of the staff are supernice, friendly and helpful. I also met some amazing people that were staying in my room. The location is great, just 5 mins walk from Ecoparque, and restaurants. 100% would stay again!

Los chicos que llevan el hostal han entendido perfectamente las necesidades de los viajeros que visitan hostales. Las instalaciones están pensadas para que estés comodo, que descanses, que disfrutes y que no te falte nada. El desayuno está muy bien, con 2 opciones, la cocina está muy bien equipada y todo está muy nuevo. Hay servicio de toalla, lavanderia, bicicletas disponibles gratuitamente, kayaks o SUP...hasta tienen tapones para el oído porque saben que el hostal de al lado a veces se pasa...que más quieres? Las habitaciones son muy comodas y con vistas increíbles, las camas muy cómodas, duchas espaciosas y en general muy buen rollo

El baño se supone que es privado pero como no está ligado a la habitación más personas lo podían usar y así paso

The hostel was calm but still had a great communal vibe. The dorms are beautifully and smart designed. The breakfast was also very good and it is close to the Lagoon. The staff was always super helpful and nice.

It seems to be new and some things could be improved like there could be more plants in the garden as the rooms have big windows and people from the street can look inside.
