My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights. It’s a nice house in a good neighborhood and the room has everything you need: AC, fan, private bathroom, a table etc. The lady and her son who are renting out the place and also live there are super nice and made our stay even better. We were also able to leave our backpacks there for the whole day after checking out in the morning since we had a very late flight. There’s also free filtered drink water, a super nice dog and you can get to anywhere in the city pretty easily and fast. Highly recommend and thank you for your hospitality.

La amabilidad de la familia fue absoluta y recomendamos este lugar porque nos acogieron desde el primer momento.

Google maps nos llevó a otra calle y enseguida ellos nos vinieron a buscar porque no encontrábamos la dirección. Gracias a la anfitriona y su hijo fue muy positiva la estancia.

The owner is so nice.

I didn’t like the washroom because it was small and the water supply for cleaning yourself after bathroom was broken, you need to switch on manually the press button is broken. Otherwise all are okay.

The front garden was so aesthetically designed. Really liked it.

Absolutely delightful homestay, we kept on coming back and back here every time we found ourselves in Colombo! The house is in a great neighbourhood, the owner and her son are so incredibly sweet and helpful, and the room is all we could have asked for - clean, spacious, with good aircon and with hot water always available. Cannot explain even how much we enjoyed our stay here, and we cannot recommend it enough! Thank you so much!

There wasn't anything that I didn't like.

We had the most wonderful stay at Leisure Home. Madhu and her son are such wonderful and attentive hosts - felt just like home. Room was clean, spacious and bright. The surrounding garden is filled with nature and birds singing. We even saw fireflies from the balcony. Breakfast was excellent. Wonderful people. Thank you for a wonderful stay. Would come back without hesitating.

Honestly, we didn't have a single complaint.

The host and her son are wonderful, kind and super friendly people! They made our stay perfect. The breakfast was incredible. Our room was comfortable and clean, there was AC and a fan and a nice bathroom. The location was really good, close to some great restaurants and supermarkets, and a close cheap tuktuk to the centre. Would definitely recommend this stay, most of all for the incredible host! Absolutely perfect!

The host family has been nice for first several days of our stay. The location is relatively calm among other places we have stayed at. There are several shops and restaurants relatively close that are reachable by taxi or tuktuk.

The more we've stayed, the more rules they have pulled out of their sleeves. The price is not cheap, $20 per night, in other, more developed countries you get much better rooms for cheaper. Here the light has been insufficient, we've had constant problems with electricity, there is even a rule that we cant eat at our room (what? we've rented it, during the stay its ours). I got the feeling that the owner just implied that we had to pay for meals that are not even that good. The place has been quite dirty yet they had audacity to tell us to throw away the trash every day due to ant infestation. No fridge in the room. We had to put our stuff in the host family's fridge which has always been full so not much space for us. There's been some problem with the lock. The owner has told us to leave it as she always stays at home but of course its a bad way to deal with problems. The host is quite loud, early in the morning i had to hear her exclaims and frankly got so tired of it Overall, I recommend coming for 1-2 days only. We have ended up staying for a week and got treatment like we are unwanted guests even though we have brought money to their family than average foreigners who stay for a couple of days.

Lovely home stay in a good location for everything you need, madu and shihath cannot do enough for you, the breakfast is outstanding value for $3 with enough food to feed 4 people! Room was very clean and nothing was too much trouble, had some lovely chats with both of them and they are both very knowledgable. I will definitely be back to visit as I now consider Madu a friend 😀 Cannot recommend enough, fabulous Their 2 dogs are the sweetest, Leo and ceaser, such characters, loved them ❤️

Un logement chez l'habitant dans une famille très accueillante. Que vous arriviez ou que vous partiez, le point de chute est parfait : vous êtes au calme, à l'écart de l'agitation de Colombo; vous découvrirez un petit dejeuner Sri lankais incroyablement bon; et surtout, une hôte à l'image du pays, souriante et aux petits soins. Le jardin est très agréable et les espaces communs vous font vous sentir chez vous. La chambre est très grande et le lit très confortable (+ ventilateur + climatisation : top confort). Eau chaude et eau froide fonctionnelles. Et en bonus un refill d'eau potable (point non négligeable)

Le logement étant dans un quartier résidentiel huppé, il n'y a pas grand chose aux alentours (sauf le petit parc à proximité qui est une balade sympa) Mais pas d'inquiétude un tuktuk vous amènera rapidement et pour peu cher n'importe où.

The owner is extremely friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with any questions or requests. Communication was smooth, and I was able to reach them easily, even during the night. The property is very clean and well-maintained, creating a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, with fresh and tasty options that made for a great start to the day. I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again.

The property is clean , but some unpleasant smell in room last for 5 hours from check in and I didn’t sleep well , the property located very close to main road which is so busy and airport and the room is not doing prof very thin roofing and walls I felt like sleeping in the road side tht much of notice , I actually tired after my flight and wanted a nearby good place to sleep, it’s terrible , waste of money

Lot of options available outside cheaper and quality than this , these people should consider this noice problem and cleanliness

The owner is such a kind and helpful person. She makes traditional local breakfasts, you should definitely opt for. Their house is in a quiet street, which is something to say in Colombo. I had a clean and pleasent room with a king-sized bed. Overall I had a great experience and would recommend this accomodation.

The service was superb, including a pickup at the railway station. The breakfast was delicious home-cooking. The owner is friendly, honest, and very helpful. We loved our time there.

Slightly far from city centre, but not a problem since they picked us up from the train station.

Leisure Home provides a peaceful and comfortable stay with all the necessary facilities. The helpful caretaker , a beautiful view, and delicious breakfast make it a great value for money, especially for those looking to experience local life. The home is well-maintained, clean, and offers a sense of community, Mrs.Madhushi always keeps smiling face and guide me like a family friend , and her son Mr. Shihath a great friendly guy took me for sight seeing and explained the spots etc etc will be defiantly back to my friend home soon 😊

After 1 months in Sri Lanka, we can say. This was our favourite stay ever!!! Madu was like a Mother to us, we felt immediately at home and so welcomed. Room was very clean and everything was very nice and tidy. Not to forget the delicious breakfast and Madus son, who is also very nice and even drove us to the Airport.

Great place and great people

It was a nice and comfortable place with a great atmosphere inside the hostel. The staff, especially Mado, were friendly, kind, and helpful. Mado has a lot of great information and is an excellent guide. She is very friendly and sociable. The food there was really delicious and homemade. There was hot water in the shower, and they provided clean soap and towels. The only downside was that the beds didn’t have mosquito nets, which would be a great addition. Also, it would be better if there were trash bins in the rooms. The bed had clean sheets. I arrived early in the morning and was warmly welcomed.

Such a great place! Madu, the host, is an extremely friendly lady who made me feel like home. Her care and service is beyond amazing. Make sure to try her Dahl as this was one of the best I had in 2 months traveling through SL. The room was clean and comfortable. If I come back to Colombo one day I would stay here again

The owner is really doing everything to make you feel comfortable. You can speak with her more or less anytime and she will take time to answer all your questions. I really appreciated how she adjusted to my needs and offered me a room which was perfect for me. Her son was also very supportive and even drove me to the immigration centre early in the morning. Both of them were really helpful. Thank you very much! If you are a dog lover, ask if you can play with their really sweet golden retriever (you might not see him, as he is most of the time on the backyard of the building). If you are strong enough, ask if you can take him for a walk. He will be very grateful for that.

Madhu was very friendly and welcoming! The rooms are spacious and clean , guesthouse is in a quite neighbourhood, around 15 mins tuktuk drive from the city centre. :-)

It was like home from home with a lovely little garden.

I would have rated this accommodation at an 8.5, until checkout. We had a dispute re: payment which was unfortunate. The overpayment was returned but should not have occurred to start with.

The place is super nice & cozy. They have a great garden, you can sit there for hours. You have a little balcony too where you can see the beautiful backyard. The hosts literally treat you like family & the place is tidy n well maintained. For the breakfast, they literally lay a 3 course meal 😋
