Stunning building and apartment

The blinds in the bedroom didn’t work, and you have to manually turn each one. We reached out to the owners twice but were ignored. Even when you turned each plank individually, they still let a lot of light in. The lack of blackout curtains/blinds seemed very odd for suck a lovely, otherwise well thought out apartment. I wouldn’t book if you need dark to sleep. The water also wasn’t hot, so didn’t get to enjoy a hot shower on the morning of our wedding. Again, this place wasn’t cheap so you expect better than a luke warm shower.

We had the attic apartment and really loved the layout, facilities, and amazing views. The bed is big and comfortable and really enjoyed the relaxing calm. We never used the kitchen, but it was adequately equipped and ideal for a longer stay. The location was everything as you are right on the rows, the historical centre of Chester, with everything you need. Whilst you don't see your host, communication was excellent and will definitely consider next time we are visiting family.

Très bel appartement situé en plein cœur des Rows. Idéal pour une nuit pour 2 personnes. Très belle décoration et on a apprécié la baignoire dans notre chambre.

Pas de parking gratuit proche. Obligation de payer un parking pour la nuit. Malgré la grande cuisine pas de plaque de cuisson. L’appartement mériterait d’être mieux nettoyé et réparé pour avoir un aspect impeccable. Il manquait du gel douche et des dosettes de café.

Great location and fantastic property. Perhaps next stay we have time to sit in the copper bath for a while!

I couldn’t fault the property as such but the customer service was poor. I paid for the VIP package, was advised to ignore messages that might come through telling me that I couldn’t check in until 3. Having paid for a 1:30 check in, I had to wait until 2:30 before getting a check in update telling me the door codes. Having paid for wine, there was none on arrival. I messaged the WhatsApp number and the response was underwhelming. There was no effort made to rectify the situation. A refund was offered but that isn’t fixing the situation in my opinion, that just telling me, the customer “hard luck”. The person at the other end of the phone was at best unprofessional and at worst, rude. Short, monosyllabic responses and no expression of apology for the service I paid for being provided… until I suggested that an apology would have been appropriate. To which I received a borderline sarcastic “I’m sorry”. Often you will read how nothing is too much trouble for the people that look after a rented property. In this case it felt as if everything was too much trouble. Such a shame as the apartment was really cool.

Fabulous boutique apartment with lovely design and decorated features. Great central city location amongst shops, bars, cathedral and theatre. Lots of nightlife with people milling around and can be heard from inside the apartment.

I was a little anxious waiting for code 1/2 hour before check-in. Needed wifi if using Booking.com app to retrieve code but got sorted quickly.

That was wonderful! Excellent location and overall vibe! Information was easy to access, and was given reminders on everything. Very nice!

The decor is absolutely stunning especially the copper bath and spacious shower.

The bath kept emptying water so we only used it the once. The sofa wasn’t the most comfortable but that’s not a big issue. The main thing was the lack of curtains in the bedroom, we were woken by sunlight at 4am every morning.

Great location In the town centre. Lovely apartment clean and spacious great for 4 people. Beautiful decor through the apartment. Centre with easy access to the town.. bed comfortable, shower powerful and hot, living area great with fridge and kitchen sink. Coffee machine and tea making facilities working well.

The door opening to the apartment need to turn the key fob knob not use the handle(just for show). Maybe have a sign letting people know.

Needs small amount of maintenance doing , the post at end of the bed needs relaxing, the door handle kept falling off as in previous reviews and the bathroom floor tiles are cracked, still a beautiful high quality apartment

The location was great, right on the Main Street near the east gate. It was easy to walk everywhere from here. The property had lovely style, was comfortable and quiet despite being so close to bars and restaurants.

Bedroom blinds let a lot of light in, a block out curtain similar to the one in the living room would be much better. Front door handle very loose, and actually came off. The shower needs a deep clean, the grout was filthy, I did alert the property manager with no response which was disappointing. Aside from this, the property was very clean and comfortable.

We have stayed here before. Location is great, the apartment is lovely.

It felt a little more tired than last time. Blinds didn’t work in bathroom. Scratches on living room floor. Lots of automated messages on Booking.com that we weren’t sure if they were correct. No direct response to my messages about check in, broken blinds etc.

Gorgeous property, apartment was bigger than I expected! Couldn’t get more central if we tried and loved the decor. Gorgeous views from the front and the back! Would definitely stay here again

We stayed when it was nearing 30c, the apartment was really stuffy - could definitely benefit from adding fans or aircon to the apartment!

Beautiful apartment. Very spacious and really clean. Perfect location for exploring the city. Right in the centre for food and drink. Parking was good value and very close by.

Location was great , really close to a car park and all of the facilities that you would need , bed was really comfy and the whole place was stunning

It was quite tricky to find had to call the owner for instructions on how to get there. No hob in the kitchen area made it hard if we wanted to cook our own food. WiFi kept dropping out.

Broken Blind in Bedroom that didn’t work at all so you couldn’t block out the light or raise the blind to see the view. Despite messaging. My messages weren’t actually read and answered properly. I paid for late checkout but was emailed telling me my checkout time was 10am.

Only a few minor things. The handle on the inside of the front door was loose,and the handle on the tap in the bathroom was loose.Everything else was fantastic!

Great location, gorgeous apartment, very convenient to everything you want in Chester. 3 of us stayed and it felt good value for money.

It was a bit noisy for the person sleeping at the front on the sofa bed but that is because the location is so central and they are right above the street with people out till the early hours. Not the end of the world! No welcome pack.

The location was excellent and the space was good and well laid out. The layout of the apartment had a good flow and the furniture was comfortable. The bed was very good.

The emphasis seemed to be on style rather than quality. The front door handle was broken and kept falling off, a couple of plug sockets didn't work and most disturbingly the quilt and quilt cover were heavily stained. When I let the agent know the only response was that they would tell the cleaning team and an emoji...I would have appreciated an apology. I understand that things can be missed but stained bedding did take the edge off the property.

The smell, the appearance, the abundance of flies, the dirt and the dust. We also reached out to the number provided numerous times to resolve these issues and request a refund however we have received no messages back from the owner.

Tastefully decorated with comfortable bed and all necessities provided.. a few very minor issues but on the whole a really lovely apartment in the centre of Chester.

The bedroom blinds were broken so we couldn't shut them so we're woken up at 5.30am with daylight! There was no fan so in this hot weather the flat was unbearably hot. Also the loo brush was pretty rusty and just needs changing as it really didn't look appealing! The dustbin in the kitchen also needs a new battery so thst the lid functions as it should!

The apartment was very very nice one of the best we have stayed in.its slap bang in the middle of the city for shopping etc and a great view of the cathedral behind the property.

Received three messages how to enter property with instructions to login into internet all were different and none would connect messaged owners but no reply.

WiFi not working, contacted the property via booking.com , was not resolved. Got offered free late checkout , and bottle of wine. I had paid for late checkout anyway, and did not get the bottle of wine, as we had to leave by checkout time of 11.30, and nobody met us there.

This property is an absolute gem. I have lived in Chester all my life and did not know it was here. The apartment is wonderfully appointed. Has everything you need and the host is amazing, the copper roll top bath in the bedroom was an extra surprise overlooking the cathedral perfectly located for a romantic getaway or shopping trip, we may be local, but we will definitely be back!

I'm sure the location would have been great

Communication from the host(s) was poor. They blamed the booking.com website for their failure to respond to my messages asking questions about my stay and they didnt even acknowledge my complaints regarding their poor communication and the effort I had to go to in order to get answers to my queries. On two seperate occasions prior to the date on which I was due to stay, they changed the apartment that I was booked into (from apt 2 to apt 1 and then to apt 3 without explanation). I was so unconvinced by their poor communication that I booked an alternative hotel and simply lost the money spent on this apartment. Very disappointing experience, particularly given they didn't even accept I had any right to complain about their poor communication, telling me to take it up with booking.com

This time we had apartment number 3 which is on the 3rd floor. Our honest opinion is we preferred the apartment 1 purely because of the amount of stairs.

The location of this property is excellent, with it being on the main thoroughfare. The centre is a hive of activity throughout the day, however street noise is kept to a minimum by the additional internal glazing to the period external windows Our host Margaret from Boss Places was very helpful and polite and efficient when we contacted her about a minor maintenance issue. Which she thanked us for bringing to her attention. The apartment is spacious and very comfortable, combining traditional features with modern kitchen facilities. If you're looking to experience authentic traditional Chester accomodation in the heart of the city, I can highly recommend Eastgate Rows Apartments.

The wonderful apartment was only let down in my opinion by a few relatively minor maintenance issues which could be quickly sorted. Namely, a cracked floor tile in the bathroom, dirty front windows a few loose/ broken fixtures and fittings. However, this comment is for advice only as we had a lovely, comfortable stay in your apartment. Thank you!

The room was very spacious and beautiful to look at.

The sofa bed was uncomfortable and the street outside was extremely noisy, I understand this can’t be helped but also made it very difficult to sleep, the blinds also didn’t close properly in the main bedroom .

Stayed for my partners Birthday.Lovely apartment and location right by the Eastgate Clock. We stayed in the top floor apartment on a Thursday so the street below was quiet in the Evening. Beautiful view of Chester Cathedral from bedroom window. Very clean. These apartments all require walking up several flights of stairs but we were made fully aware of this beforehand so it was no issue for us. The apartment was warm and cosy and smelt lovely. My partner enjoyed the copper bath and we were able to cook a meal using the oven and microwave in the apartment.code for entrance and apartment were sent out right on time as notified and was easy to access. All in all a lovely day/evening.many thanks

Musty smelling bathroom with no working extractor ; no tea towel in kitchen; lounge full of flies as balcony door was ajar on arrival. We had to buy fly spray.

Fob entry to front door took some sorting out , especially trying to lock on leaving , internet not the best , and never stayed in apartment without a hob , realise plenty of cafes etc , but I like my fried eggs haha , rubbish behaviour,

Unfortunately couldn’t shut the blinds properly in the bedroom so had continuous light coming through all night, a few items around the flat were broken and after you had a shower the shower head would now and then spit out water and the way to unlock and lock the door was overly complicated

We LOVED the style of the apartment and amazing location, right in the centre! It was immaculately clean and had lovely facilities such as the large copper bath and Molton Brown smellies. The bed was comfy and huge. We really loved the stay and would highly recommend it and would come back again.

The only thing that would improve the stay would have been a couple of milks available for the coffee so you did not have to bring your own for one night. With the fantastic location unfortunately does mean it was a bit noisy at night with the night life which is completely understandable and expected but if there was a way to insulate the noise a little better would improve it even more so.

Beautiful property, lovely design, had everything we needed, bed was super comfortable and the copper bath was a lovely touch. Fantastic location.

The architecture

No WiFi ( contacted several times but no solution provided). Very noisy location I.e. street performer played opposite the apartment until midnight. Also, bedroom suffered from a humming noise until midnight which might’ve come from AC unit or some other type of machinery.

Absolutely awful customer service. Received a message from the property as we arrived in Chester saying our room was being cancelled. Still waiting on a refund for wine I purchased for the room. Terrible.

The apartment is stunning, very clean. I stayed in Apartment 3. The shops are on the doorstep!

The apartment location on arrival wasn’t clear. Location is - middle of the high street, the NatWest bank is on your right hand side, you are then looking for the steps to the apartments. The steps to the apartment are in front of you! (Just in case you are looking for the apartment, as I was for ten minutes, up and down the street with google maps :) )

buskers singing outside till 2.30am. people ringing our apartment through the night coz they were drunk and couldn't get into their apartments. a couple walked into our apartment around 11.30pm.shortly after we had arrived home from food. again drunk and asking me why I was in my own apartment

Apartment was a little tired (completely broken/not attached door handle, screws missing from glass topped bedside table, meaning it was wobbly and unsafe (nearly broke a water glass by using it) no hand soap or shower gel and water for bath only ran Luke warm at best (no matter what was tried) all tap knobs were loose and just generally in need of some care going back into it. Thermostat 'stuck on 18-19' so at times a little cool, others too hot. No towels to dry pots, just general lack of attention to detail for a luxury apartment

Situated right in the centre of Chester a great location, rooms were beautifully decorated . Communication by the hosts were 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone wishing to visit Chester . We would definitely book this apartment again when visiting Thank you

Too many stairs, only 1 wine glass…second bed, bedding for sofa bed not ready, had to be made.

The apartment itself was very nice and felt quite luxurious. It’s also in a really good location, which made everything very convenient. The couch in the front room was very comfortable, and the bed was moderately comfortable as well. It was extremely clean with fresh everything, you can tell the cleaner did well! Overall, it was a pleasant place to stay and we enjoyed the property.

When we first walked into the apartment, the door handle fell off. I did message the lady who helped us find the property, but didn’t receive a response. That said, it was quite late on a Sunday, so it’s understandable, and she had been lovely and helpful before that. The door handle wasn’t properly fixed, but did lock so we felt abit more assured for the night. Although this did spark a little uncertain safety.
