Great location, loved the fact we had everything on our door stop & parking was great too! Thank you so much for fresh milk, absolutely brilliant to see in the fridge. Coffee taste so much better than that uht milk. I normally pass on the drink but great to have one first thing in the morning. Bonus! Room was small but adequate & loved the stained windows.

A slight damp smell in the bathroom but tbh most old properties in the area are all the same.

It was located in center, near by restaurants, shops, etc. It was clean and quiet. Car parking areas nearby..

The welcome was most kindly and put one at ease immediately. All went very well and the location was very close to all of the sites, which one wanted to visit.

As I did not have roaming on my phone, the place was difficult to find for me. This, of course, was my fault.

Lovely little place ideal distance to everything

Very comfortable room with all the amenities. We loved the fact that there was a small fridge in the room. Easy access. Very clean. Location is very good with easy access to public transportation, and within walking distance of all main sights in Chester.

Handy location for going out in town. I was contacted as soon as the room was ready which meant I was able to check in early. The bed was comfortable, and there was a fan in the room. Better value than the Travelodge round the corner for a solo traveller

There was noise from the pub across the road until about midnight, so this could be something to factor in if you were hoping for an early night. (This may have been a one off for the Pride Festival which was on the day of my stay).

We didn't expect much so when we were welcomed by staff, given advice on places to get meals, shop etc. we were very pleased. The room was not big but had everything we needed and wanted. Definitely we will go back!

Het was een kamer in een prachtig oud huis. Fijn dat het op de begane grond was. Het is aan een doodlopende straat, waardoor je geen overlast hebt van verkeer. Heel prettig dat het raam open kon. Niet vergeten dat je het dichtdoet voor je weggaat. Het was fijn om een eigen koelkast te hebben, zeker met het warme weer(plus 30 graden). Vlakbij het centrum, alle leuke musea en de stadsmuur. De gastvrouw was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Tv op de kamer was ook fijn om even tot rust te komen. Fijn dat de deur op slot kan met een sleutel.

De badkamer was wat verouderd en leek daardoor minder schoon. Het is een erg grote opstap om het huis in te komen, voor mij geen probleem, maar goed om rekening mee te houden. Het is een vrij klein bed voor 2 personen, gelukkig was ik alleen.

Very friendly owners, clear instructions for the self check in. I arrived late and left early and the owners did the best to make my short stay as comfortable as possible. Really good value as well for the price. I would book here again.

Really good stay. Lovely room (window to die for), great location and good pub next door was a bonus. Staff very very accommodating and helpful. Whilst no car parking (it is a central location people) a cheap car park is within 5 mins walk. Had a lovely stay would use again if in Chester

The heatwave affected room temperatures and ground floor accommodation meant one window locked

Friendly and welcoming. The only remaining guest house within the old city walls. Accessible for city sites, but Very quiet lane for sleeping. Handy free parking nearby after 3pm. Would stay again.

Location, location, location! Very centrally located, easy to find. 20 min walk from the station. Friendly owners. Chilled water and milk provided in the fridge, along with a fan for the very warm temperatures. Room 2 very reasonably sized for an English guest house. Shower pressure good, and instant hot water. You get your own front door key for after hours, and there is a drop box if you leave early.

Bathroom in room 2 is narrow and may be a challenge if you are super tall or wide!. Generally the room (bed and bath) was very clean, but there were signs of damp in the grout in the bathroom. It was very warm when I visited, and only one window opened a few inches, but the fan was gratefully appreciated!

Great location just on the edge of the city centre, right near the river, restaurants and cafes. Handy for a pub. But quiet, no external noise. For the money we paid it was really good value. Reception staff were friendly. Check in was easy and quick.. There were enough sockets to charge our phones. Bed was comfortable. The room was warm. Nice shower.. As a place to crash while visiting Chester, it's a good choice.

The staff was very quick to respond to my inquiries through Booking.com. The location is quite close to most everything I wanted to do, downtown, walking the wall, the river, Roman ruins, and the horse track. A grocery store is close to the hotel and also a few pubs. It’s about 12-15 minutes walk from the rail station.

I was in the first room, a smaller room. This room has a small shower, difficult to turn around in. I also couldn’t find the thermostat and was cold for most of the stay, especially in the evenings.

Great location, central, and close to St Mary's (handy for a gig). Lovely room, ground floor (room 6) but I didn't mind. It was Thursday, so fairly quiet. Really comfortable bed, plenty of space, a little fridge with bottled water and milk. Bathroom is small, but nice. Towels were actually big enough, which is a bonus! (Also pretty rare!)

The shower cubicle is very small, but the shower itself is lovely, so I couldn't really complain.

Great value for money, room and location were very quiet (although it was midweek, so I can't say what it would be like at the weekend). Room was clean and comfortable, the blinds on the window were reasonable. The kettle plus tea & coffee were a nice touch.

A bit more storage would be good (especially shelves in the bathroom)

It was very central to the old walled city. The room had coffee and tea making facilities.

The stairs were difficult to negotiate especially with luggage. The bathroom and shower were very small. The shower was difficult to work. The room was cold - the fixed heaters were not working and there was no other form of heating.

Ideally placed guest house, literally across the road from the city centre, a 2 minute walk from the castle and museums, 5 minute walk from the race course. Loads of fabulous pubs near by.

The location was really central and you were able to walk everywhere. The Staff was also really accommodating and happy to show you what you could do around Chester.

The milk and coffee wasn't replenished on the second day. This may have been because I didn't put the make up my room sign out.

Not their fault but Chester within the City walls has a rotten signal. No masts or paraphernalia on all those Grade II listed buildings.
