The size of the suite, the central location, friendly staff

A lot of stairs to get to the suite and late evening noise from the pub next door.

With the price we paid id of expected breakfast included in feel the price could do with lowering as no breakfast was included all we did was sleep in a bed. The bed was comfy we had a fridge and coffee tea making facilities, it was noisy with the music till early hours but this was stated to us before arriving. Brilliant location I would stay again but for less of the price

Excellent Location! The hotel is hidden but easy to find. Even thought I went on sunday night, the area still reasonably loud from nearby pubs but it's tolerable (and well reported on the description). Room was spacious, comfy bed and gread toilet. Definitely reccommended.

The staff accommodated my slightly late arrival. I stayed in The Byron Room which was exquisite. Book it if you can. I was making a flying visit, using it only as a place to sleep so had no need to use any of the pubs facilities but it operates as a quiet house during the week anyway. The location was fantastic too.

It was an amazing room.

The way the staff delt with me and my fiance. They kicked us out at around 7pm. We.had nowhere to go. All we had was a little domestic. The young lad blew it out of perforation.

Alles sauber, für 1 Nacht komplett ausreichend. Sehr großes Bad und geräumiges Zimmer mit bequemen Bett. Direkt in der Altstadt, zum Bahnhof ist es aber ein ganzes Stück zu laufen. Wir waren unter der Woche da, daher war es auch relativ ruhig (außer, dass morgens Fässer im Innenhof gerollt wurden)

Das Treppenhaus wirkte etwas dreckig, der Eingang war nicht so leicht zu finden.

Many features need sorting. Windows not staying open, bedroom TV remote didn't work, just some general wear and tear, feel this should have been reflected somewhat in the pricing. Despite this very comfy bed, lovely rooms, nice to have a fridge and great to pop downstairs for entertainment

Location was fantastic, central to all tourist attractions and shops. Room was clean and facilities generally good.

No air conditioning. Loud music from nearby clubs and bars until 3am even on week nights. With the hot weather, it meant having to leave the windows open during the night which made the noise even worse. 7am wake up call of beer barrels rolling down the cobbles. And I haven’t even mentioned the ghosts!

Lovely accommodation. Large bedroom with tv and four poster bed, large bathroom with free standing bath, 2 sinks and a shower plus lounge with tv !

Nos avisaron que los fines de semana es un sitio en el que se hacen fiestas, pero en nuestro caso fuimos un jueves, se supone que íbamos a tener una estancia tranquila, pero justo en el bar de al lado (The Victoria) había fiesta y karaoke hasta las dos de la mañana. La música altísima y la gente en el patio de abajo gritando . Imposible pegar ojo e íbamos súper cansadas del viaje. Deberían avisar de que esto es así todos los días porque no hubiéramos cogido ese hotel ni de broma. Una noche horrible, ya que a las 8 de la mañana teníamos que despertarnos para seguir viajando y no descansamos nada. Nada recomendable a no ser que quieras estar de fiesta.

Great location nice room and lovely staff

Good value for money and excellent location.

It felt a little bit run down and could do with a revamp of decor and new carpets throughout.

Man who greeted us was friendly. Room was spacious. No cleanliness issue in the room itself.

We were warned about it being loud at weekends but we booked for a Wednesday. They say that during the week it is ‘peaceful and relaxed’. This was not the case as one of the neighbouring bars had incredibly loud music / karaoke and the windows didn’t block any of this sound. I appreciate that the hotel doesn’t have control over the neighbouring bar, however it would make sense for them to invest in some better sound proofing in the rooms if noise is a constant issue in the hotel. Carpets going up to the room were also mouldy which didn’t give a great first impression!

The room needs some maintenance doing lighting in the bathroom on 2 bulbs working, the cold water pressure from sink was only a trickle, basically it just needs a a bit of maintenance and music on till 3am from next door on a Thursday night !!!!!!!

The location of the hotel was perfect in the centre of Chester. Check in was seamless and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was spacious , clean and comfortable.

Location OK (City centre).

Parking was offered but was basically illegal parking by bin stores. Also we had to leave by 9am to avoid problems. A pub below our window played Very load music till about 3am. Manager apologised and said it was unusual but I think it was a normal occurrence. Of the7 lights in the bathroom only 1 worked. Generally a tired hotel.

Friendly and welcoming staff. Room was pleasant and comfortable for my stay and everything was clean and comfortable.

Furniture was slightly damaged and dated and in need of some tlc and repairs.

You couldn't fault the location. It was ideal for whatever you needed to do in Chester.

Unfortunately there was an inconsiderate couple in the room next to ours, and on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning decided to let the door slam at 4.00am, with no consideration for anybody, so how many people they woke up I don't know. And on Thursday morning at 7.00/7.30, a brewery delivery with metal kegs were being rolled along the concrete outside, due to having a delivery, so not a good couple of nights.

Great location in the city centre room was comfortable lots tea and coffee also fridge which was great the heat wave we were having at the time. Came for the races short walk away and party vibes at the hotel afterwards on the Friday night.

Just a little outdated but didn't effect our stay .met the cleaner each morning friendly and helpful.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable, bwd too, and the bathroom was modern and big. The location is excellent—right in the heart of the city, yet tucked away in a quiet courtyard. The hotel did warn us before that there would be loud music on weekend evenings. However, with the windows closed, it wasn't a problem and didn't disturb our sleep. On weekdays, the area is perfectly quiet. Overall, we would definitely recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was very negative. I felt disappointed and misled because one of the most important facilities I specifically checked before choosing the hotel was air conditioning. In hot weather, staying in a room without a working air conditioner was extremely difficult and unacceptable. My room was located on the top floor, directly under the roof, which made the heat even more intense. In addition, the hotel is located in an area where live concerts take place in the evenings until around 2 a.m., and even after that people continued gathering outside until approximately 4 a.m. Opening the windows was not an option, because with the windows open the music was extremely loud and made it impossible to rest properly. What disappointed me the most was the attitude of the staff. At first, they gave the impression that the air conditioner simply had not been switched on. Later, I was told that it was broken. However, there was already a fan in the room, which suggests that the problem with the air conditioning was known beforehand and that it had most likely not been working for some time. I find it unfair that guests are not informed about such an important issue in advance. If I had known that the air conditioning was not working, especially during the summer heat and in a top-floor room under the roof, I would not have chosen this hotel. When booking, I relied on all the facilities and amenities listed in the description, and air conditioning was one of the most important ones. What makes the situation even more disappointing is that the hotel did not offer any compensation or discount for this inconvenience. The hotel contacted me again shortly before my arrival to inform me about the live music, but I was never warned about the non-functioning air conditioner — a much more serious issue during hot weather.

Came 6th July for 3 nights from minute we arrived nicky couldn't do enough, Paul the manager extremely helpful. Location is spot on . Will definitely be returning 😌

2pm checkin time is great and was able to leave luggage on day of departure as I had a 6pm train. Worked really well for 2 days of walking the wales coastal path up to Prestatyn and using it as a “hub”,returning by bus or train each day. Fridge in room was really useful.

Couldn’t get the shower temperature down from very hot (probably fine for most people) but luckily there was a shower attachment in the bath that worked

Brilliant location Good shower and lovely bathroom It was very spacious the bedroom and lounge were tired but the bathroom looked like it had just been redone.

By far the worst part was the noise - even though they had stated they had music in the courtyard until 2 it was very noisy until 4am. Better soundproofing would definitely be recommended.

The location is great for city center, plenty of bars and restaurants with in crawling distance. Comfortable spacious room which were clean. Large bath and shower. Do not judge the hotel by its entrance as it is a lively and wild pub on the weekend full of party goers we were there Wednesday and Thursday no noise.

Room a little dark but most hotel rooms are.

The property is so central, parking close and safe. Was £15 for over night parking. We were told about the music on a weekend so no problem for us, but if you want quiet then I would think about somewhere else. The music choice was really good for us to listen to.

There was nothing we did not like.

The location is perfect, the staff were amazing and the room was lovely, it was even better than we thought it would be. Plus the vibe all through the night was so good, we had great music on when we arrived and then after we had been out. Highly recommend this Bar & Hotel if you are visiting Chester and love a cool vibe and top tunes :)

Location perfect for the city centre and attractions, very private and secluded Monday to Friday, nice base for exploring, had the rooms at the top of the house and for the price excellent. Bathroom exceptional and quite the size.

It fulfilled all my expectations, though the stairs are steep for older travellers, but it's an older building and to be expected.

Great location, excellent facility with a bit of quirkiness too.

Unfortunately I was unable to stay here as was advised upon arrival that the music would be going on until 2am. They said they would provide a refund through booking.com but neither booking.com or I can reach them to confirm this.

Way too loud for one stay stay after doing the 3 peaks challenge and they apologised and did say they would provide a refund however this has not happened. I wouldn’t recommend at all.

I travel for work so not overly familiar with the area the commercial is perfectly situated for the city centre and everything you would need. Firstly the staff are very accommodating 24hrs if you need anything which is wonderful. The room itself was huge technically 3 adjoining rooms rather than built like a studio it was spacious comfortable warm (but not too hot) it had lovely little decor and a mini fridge which was a lovely addition actually, the bed was comfy it was carpeted which is also nice, very clean well kept and in a lovely condition the bathroom was huge, a bath, 360 shower which was awesome, 2 sinks, plenty of towels and consumables to be used very easy check in policy late checkout, now the commercial doesn’t offer breakfast but plenty of nearby places to get anything from hot food cold food snacks drinks etc and the welcome pack in the room has a handy guide and recommendation list, free WiFi which worked perfectly I was even able to work off it. I would highly recommended this place to stay and hopefully will be using again next time I travel to Chester

Firstly I would like to stress There was absolutely nothing I didn’t like about this property I rated it and my stay a 10, there are two tiny things I’ll mention one is the smallest of improvements and didn’t affect my score/stay at all. While the tea coffee tray is very well stocked and has cups kettle even wine glasses and ice bucket, a biscuit or little baked good would have just topped off my late night cuppa. The other is something that the hotel is not responsible for so again not marking it down but at 3:25 am I was woken by some random guy using a pressure washer outside in the courtyard and it was horrifically loud and so random it went on for about 20 min I was able to go to sleep because I just can but it was a little weird but other than that perfect thanks very much.
