Could hear the family next door all night and had to park a fair bit away as the snow hadn’t been cleared leading up to the property. Owner never sent me self check in detail and was very rude on the phone when I requested them

just a very minor thing: cold floor in the bathroom (perhaps we just didn’t figure out a way to make it warmer?)

Knock on the door between 9-9.30 from the house keeper if you need extra tea/coffee/toilet paper etc. it would be good if they have 2 blankets/donna instead of one.

Reviewed May 8, 2026The studio is small but cozy, and can fit two large sized luggages. Kitchen is fully equipped. The tv is huge with lots of NZ channels. Strong water pressure. Mattress is excellent for a good night rest.
It didn’t have a washer/dryer but it was unnecessary for a short stay.

Reviewed Mar 15, 2026The apartment was clean, modern and had everything you could need. Bed was comfy, shower was the best we’d used in NZ, and we appreciated the parking outside. We felt it was great value for the price we paid, particularly with everywhere being expensive in Tekapo.
It maybe would have been nice to be slightly closer to the lakefront/town (it’s about a 15 min walk) but there is plenty of parking if you don’t want to walk and everything otherwise was perfect.

Reviewed Jan 29, 2026Our stay at Azure Tekapo was very pleasant and comfortable. The kitchen was extremely well equipped and convenient, making it easy to prepare meals during our trip. The location is excellent, with easy access to the lake and nearby attractions. A special highlight was the large flat-screen TV in the room — perfect for relaxing in the evenings and enjoying high-quality programs after a long day of sightseeing. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and highly recommended.

Reviewed Jan 19, 2026It had all the amenities you needed which was great! It was modern and comfortable. The security, being a code rather than the need for keys made it easy and private.
We did notice the bathroom had mould or sludge on the base rim so could've been cleaner. Clarity around what "excessive mess" was would be helpful too — felt it was too vague so a breakdown would be helpful seeing as there is a charge for it.

Reviewed Nov 24, 2025Super easy to get in and the room was very spacious and comfortable. Great location although lake Tekapo seemed quite small so you can’t really go wrong especially if you have a car.
The shower drain combined with the gap in the infrastructure of the shower caused a flood in the bathroom which spread to the kitchen. However, a very kind man came the next morning to sort it out!

Reviewed Nov 11, 2025Azure Tekapo is a group of very nice, brand new bungalow type buildings, in a kind of rental neighborhood. We were provided with an access code once booked, so we just parked in front of our unit, and let ourselves in. Our room was very nice, clean and comfy. No breakfast included, but several restaurants, shops and a 4-Square market are very close in the tiny town, right on Lake Tekapo. Most restaurants were closed when we arrived, so we bought some groceries at the market and cooked dinner ourselves in the nice kitchen area of our bungalow. I believe this town is in the very early beginning of an upcoming resort. The highlights there now are the famous Church of the Good Shepherd, and the Mount John Observatory Dark Sky Project, a fascinating guided astrological tour of the universe with bare eyes and with telescopes.
