I didnt realise I would be getting a bunk bed although not a problem.

I needed one night stay close to Gare Du Nord Station and this was a very nice hotel with a very nice large, clean and beautifully designed room with large bed and air conditioning and the lovely interiors of the room with tea and coffee facilities in the room. The bathroom was very large too with nice towels. I had a very nice sleep and a wonderful breakfast in the morning. The staff was very nice and polite and charming and helpful at the reception and also in the breakfast room. I will definitely stay there again and highly recommend this place which is only about 5 mins walking distance from the station.

Avalon was a great find close to Gare du Nord/ the Eurostar terminal. We tend to book nearby so it's easy to get the first train back to London and this was fabulous. It's a tasteful, budget friendly hotel -- and I hope good reviews don't change that. Most importantly, it had excellent air conditioning during the summer heatwave. It was a godsend to return to after a long day out and about in Paris. Rooms were also a good size (we booked a family room with an additional single bed). The bathroom was pretty tired, but shower pressure was great. Check-in staff were lovely (there was no bar fridge in our room but they stored items for us during the heat).

It's a very basic reception/ lobby area, and classic older style building (creaky lift, stairs). Standard for Paris but international visitors might find it off-putting.

my room was very old, the furniture was dirty and dusty. the mirror was removed, so it's unusable. there was a strong smell of moisture in bathroom, it does not have good air circulation. located very good if you travel from la gare du nord, there's also many restaurants and groceries around.

The location is great because it's very close to Gare du Nord, and even Notre Dame is within walking distance (about a 45 to 60-minute walk). Being so close to the main station makes it incredibly easy to catch the metro around Paris or take a train to other major cities.

The rooms are quite tiny, but that is to be expected given the central location right next to the train station. Other than that, it offers great value for the price, and the location is excellent. There really isn't much to complain about, and we had an enjoyable stay.

de locatie. Lekker dicht bij Gare du Nord ( 5 minuten lopen) Hoewel ik het jammer vind dat de dichtstbijzijnde halte van de big Bus hier niet wat dichter bij zit. Wij vonden het reizen met de Metro ook een stuk ingewikkelder geworden. Maar ik snap dat het hotel hier niets aan kan doen.

Drie jaar geleden ben ik hier ook een paar dagen met mijn vriendin geweest en toen hadden we een veel mooiere, grotere kamer op de vijfde verdieping met een bankje, een balkon en een betere doucheruimte. Nu op de derde. Douchen in bad is niet prettig voor wat oudere mensen. (wij zijn 75 en 76) Maar ik vond het vooral vreemd dat er hier een groot raam in de badkamer naast het toilet zit. Wel met matglas, maar ik vond het toch niet prettig.

El personal de recepción y la gente de limpieza que utilizan el unico elevador existente para subir y bajar con todo su equipo de limpieza, cuándoel elevador es para máximo3 personas, , en especial la recepcionista de cabello corto, después de una mala experiencia en el hotel de lado, no quería dejar hacer el check in, por no tener el monto exacto de tax de municipal de €16 14hrs de viaje con mi hijo de 11 años, y la tipa no tuvo ni el menor sentido común, le dije que porfavor dejara pasar a mi hijo a la habitación ya que necesitaba el baño y no le importo, deje un billete de €100 como garantía y aún así me obligó a regresar a pagar €16 en menos de 30min. Horrible el hotel y el personal

Hotel in a great location and very convenient for the station. Room was lovely and really comfortable bed.

Doors shutting from other rooms loud, and can hear other people in next rooms so maybe better soundproofing.

The location was perfect, check in was flexible and staff were friendly.

Some of the guests were a bit noisy when returning but it was brief and nothing to do with the hotel.

Although the location is very close to Gare du Nord station, I found the surrounding area very uncomfortable and did not feel safe there, especially at night. I was honestly shocked when we arrived late in the evening. The location may be convenient for the station, but I would strongly recommend being aware of the surroundings, particularly if arriving late or travelling with the family.

Das Hotel liegt ganz nah am Gare du Nord, eine Bushaltestelle ist direkt vor der Haustür, Montmartre z.B. ist sogar bequem zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Gebäude ist ein schön renovierter Altbau, unser Zimmer hatte einen Balkon und ein kleines Sofa. Das Team war freundlich und entgegenkommend. Für eine Nacht war es großartig, wir wären auch länger geblieben.

Die Gegend rund um den Gare du Nord ist stellenweise etwas rau, aber dafür kann das Hotel nichts. Das Frühstück ist für regulär 16 Euro etwas dürftig.

Really bad neighbourhood, not Walkable at night and pretty unpleasant during the day. Fifth floor isn't fully renovated and wasn't in great condition eg public areas. Given this it was also very very expensive

Das Hotel liegt 5 Minuten zu Fuß vom Gare du Nord. Modern renoviert, schön eingerichtet, sehr schöne geräumige Zimmer, große Dusche, getrennte Toilette, Klimaanlage. Schallschutzfenster sorgen für eine ruhige Nacht. Im Innenhof kann man in Ruhe einen Kaffee oder Wein trinken. Wir haben für das Doppelzimmer im August 103 € bezahlt, das ist ein ausgesprochen gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Vom Bahnhof aus gut zu Fuß zu erreichen, das war uns wichtig. Frühstück war sehr gut.

Climatisation au top dans la chambre. Très appréciable après une journée de marche dans paris sous un soleil de plomb. Chambre confortable, spacieuse mais un peu vétuste surtout au niveau de la salle de bains.

The breakfast was very good with a selection of cold meats and cheese. Boiled and scrambled eggs also available. The staff were very good and helpful. Our room had excellent air con which was very much appreciated in the hot weather. We also had a small balcony which we used in the evening. The location was excellent for Gare du Nord.

Good location, close to the train station and walkable to sites of interest. The staff are very nice and welcoming. The rooms were as described and nicely decorated and comfortable.

The breakfast is a little basic for the price you pay.

The first night the curtain pole fell down in our room. The receptionist told us that there is nothing that they can do nor can they offer us another room in their hotel or another hotel because all rooms are full. So their solution was to tape our windows with... bin bags. The next day the workman luckily fixed the pole so we could use the curtains again. But the room was not properly cleaned after that, there was a lot of gypsum dust on the floor and furniture which we had to clean ourselves. When I asked if they will compensate the night for us, the manager offered us a voucher for one night but Paris is not a place we visit regularly so we don't have anything to do with that. When I said that I want money compensation, the manager said that they forwarded my request to their Finance Department for review. That was now 1,5 months ago. I have written them several times after that, asking for the solution, but they have not even answered my letters.

Les prix qui varient du jour au lendemain + 30% pour une même prestation , réservation de deux chambres identiques au même nom pour deux prix différents…

The Avalon hotel was so incredibly close to the Gard du Nord, which in itself is very well connected to the rest of Paris, I'm a slow walker and even still it took me around a minute and a half to walk to the station. The room itself was nice and clean, the beds were comfy and the kettle and amenities in our room had a good selection. Our triple room had a balcony which spanned from our bedroom to the bathroom and was big enough to fit all 3 of us. The air conditioning worked well and was very much appreciated in the summer heat!! Breakfast was delicious and well worth pre-booking as it made our lives so much easier (and cheaper) and the 24/7 fresh juice and cold water access was a nice touch. Disabled access is good too as there is a lift to each floor. The staff were so kind and very informative! We arrived around 4 hours before check in and we were able to leave our luggage with them in a dedicated luggage room while we explored. Outside of the hotel there is a decent range of cafes and restaurants, as well as fast food places. We stayed for a few days for the BTS concert at the Stade de France and we had such a wonderful time, we will be back to explore the rest of the city!

As our room faced the road where the traffic lights were, we could hear sirens at all hours of the night, and honking throughout the day, which is no fault of the hotel itself but bare in mind to use the supplied ear plugs when sleeping!

Sehr zentrale Lage, 5 Minuten zu Fuß vom Gare du Nord, das Zimmer war erstaunlich ruhig

1) Die Ausstattung war sehr dürftig, es gab nicht einmal Handseife, von Shampoo und Duschgel ganz zu schweigen. 2) Die Temperatur der Klimaanlage ließ sich nicht einstellen, es war viel zu kalt, daher musste ich sie ganz ausmachen. 3) Es gab eine kleine Stufe vor dem Badezimmer, die durch den dunklen Teppich nicht sichtbar war, ich bin mehrmals darüber gestolpert.

Vriendelijk personeel, vinden het belangrijk om een goede service en/of ervaring te leveren. Bedden liggen heerlijk, fijn om een keertje niet op zo'n heel hard matras te slapen. :-) Het ontbijt was standaard, maar prima om een (actieve) dag mee te beginnen!

De omgeving rond het hotel is wel wat 'grimmig' in de avond, je loopt daar iets minder op je gemak als vrouw zijnde. Het hotel zelf is wel wat gehorig, je hoort namelijk alles van de (boven)buren. Verder ligt het heel centraal, Gare du Nord (station) zit om de hoek!

Bathroom was super small and had a really bad smell. There was no ventilation in the bathroom so the smell wouldn’t go away. Was not comfortable to take a shower in or brush your teeth.

A perfect hotel for our trip. The air con was grear.

Your staff are amazing, I encountered 3 or 4 staff at different times at reception, and they were all so very helpful & kind! The room had a good bed & bathroom. The AC was set to 19C and I couldn't change it. Otherwise very comfortable.

Quite noisy, sound proof between rooms wasn't great, I could hear someone just having a phone conversation.

I had to extend my staying for one more day, they gave me the option for another room and I took it, but I didn’t expect the other room was totally updated, old and, limited. Next time, I’d rather they show me that kind of room before.

Good location, close to the metro and easy to walk to attractions. The only problem was that it is close to the station and there are relatively many homeless people in the surrounding areas.

The aircon and breakfasts were fantastic. In the middle of the heat wave in Paris, the room provided extra comfort to cool down from the heat!

The room is quite small making it difficult to unpack luggage. the location of the hotel is unfortunately disappointment, albeit close to Gare du Nord.

Les gens sont très gentils et cordiales. Il y a le fer à repasser et le service pour sauvegarder les bagages après le check-out est gratuit aussi.

Not a lot to be honest - it was close to the train station that took you to the airport

Very very old and worn out place. Wasn’t very clean. Broken tiles looked awful in reception. Stairs dangerous. Lift a dead trap. Room was not as it was advertised at all. Bathroom was not clean. Bath had chips in it. Cheap toilet paper. Broken tiles. Had to ask for more only provided with one roll for a 3 night stay with 3 adults and one teenager in the room! Room wasn’t cleaned once and you had to ask for clean towels.

Friendly and helpful staff, very good breakfast, check out to 12pm.

Staff were not helpful. Had to ask 3 times for a TV remote and each time we were told that they would bring it right up. Never happened. Also we were told that we would not have cleaning services but returned from a meal and found that the door was left ajar and the staff had been inside. New towels and bed made. No remote control left either!

I visited during the summer, and unfortunately the hotel wasn’t well prepared for the heat. The public areas were very hot and uncomfortable. However, the room was cool and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked very well. The staff were amazing—friendly, helpful, and made the stay much more enjoyable.

The photos on Booking.com are misleading. The pictures for my room included a balcony, but the room I received did not have one. The gym is also much smaller than it appears in the photos. The breakfast was very basic and, in my opinion, not worth the price.

The staff of the hotel were very welcoming and helpful. And the hotel is close to Gare du Nord so that is great if you come by train or have to travel during your stay.

We didn’t expect the bathroom to be so small, so sitting on the toilet was not the easiest job. Also the cleaning could be done better. Unfortunately, the room was very noisy. You could clearly hear people walking in the hallway, doors slamming, and guests talking, even while lying in bed. As a result, it was difficult to get a good night’s sleep, and I had a restless night. Better soundproofing would greatly improve the overall guest experience.

Location next to Gare de Nord is very convenient. Walking and public transport distance to city centre and Montmarte is great. Rooms look almost like on pictures, but bit darker, older, shabbier - not so light and new. Cleaning daily. I liked the window view on side street.

Overall cleanliness 7/10 (some dusty corners in room, color from walls peeling off), lobby and stairs area, elevator is rather old - as expected from classic french old building. We did not use breakfast option, but it didnt look very welcoming (choice and dining area).

Wygodne łóżka i klimatyzacja. Śniadania monotonne ale na kilka dni wystarczające. Lokalizacja jeśli chodzi o metro czy dworzec blisko ok 500 m. Na montmate blisko na nogach ok 1,2 km. Pani Margot bardzo miła i pomocna osoba.

Podczas meldowania dostalismy pokój 3 osobowy a zapłaciłem za 4 osobowy. Byłem stanowczy i chciałam taki pokój jak na zdjęciach. Otrzymałam choć tłumaczyli sie winą bookingu. Bliskość dworca więc kręci się dużo osób z afryki spiących na ulicach.

Chambre pas du tout insonorisé, chambre mitoyenne avec 5 personnes bruyante je ne vais pas dans un 3 étoiles pour avoir des logements sociaux à coté. Salle de bain minuscule et wc où on ne peux pas fermer la porte , et porte de la douche qui tape dans le lavabo donc on rentre en diagonale !!!!

No dia seguinte, logo cedo, nos deparamos com dois atendentes inertes e desinteressados, Mesmo com uma criança pequena, que dormia no carrinho, e insistindo que nosso voo era internacional, eles resistiram em contatar a empresa responsável pelo transfer. Só depois de um atraso verificado é que ligaram e nos impuseram um atraso de mais quinze minutos, sem nada esclarecer sobre a existência de outros passageiros a serem coletados pela motorista, antes de nos atender, o que impôs um imenso atraso e quase nos fez perder nosso voo. Na hora do agendamento, NINGUÉM NOS INFORMOU SOBRE ISSO. Se soubéssemos, teríamos contratado um táxi por nossa conta. Mas não. No dia da viagem, super cedo, em um bairro pouco amigável, tivemos de nos submeter ao risco de perder nosso voo. Sinceramente, me senti bastante vulnerável diante da inércia e da má vontade dos atendentes. Além disso, o corredor é barulhento e vaza luz pelas frestas da porta, iluminando o quarto, sempre que alguém sai no corredor. Noite difícil, manhã ainda pior. Reforço. O entorno do hotel não é um ambiente familiar, nem transmite muita segurança. Se puderem, optem por outra acomodação.
