Good position, 5 min. Walk to City Center. Free Parking, but you need to get the keys first to enter the garage.

Very, very noisy, our apartment was next to the exit, so the people who came home at night, didn't close the door silently. When you want to shower you need to turn on the water heater one hour before.

Great location and very spacious apartment. Had everything you need for medium short term stay.

Size and comfort of bed was disappointing. Simple upgrade would complete a very comfortable apartment.

Clean, comfortable, and spacious apartment in a good location, just a short walk to the centre and plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, shops, and transport options. The host communicated well and sent clear check-in instructions well ahead of time.

Some of the appliances were in need of repair or replacement. The hobs on the stove did not function at all (though the oven itself worked well) and the washing machines shut down if we put more than a few light garments in them at a time.

The location of the apartment is great and a short walk to the Latin Quarter and historic sites. We were happy to have underground parking, although it’s tight getting in and out. The apartment was very clean, and there were clear instructions on how to access the building. Basic amenities were adequate.

The second bedroom was small with barely enough room to walk around the bed and no room for our suitcases. Living room had seating for 3, but the apartment sleeps 4. Generally felt like a student dormitory with the dated decor.

Location and communication. Place was clean and comfortable for exploring Galway.

Running toilet, shower pressure was terrible, and temperature went from cold to scalding hot and back to cold. Also, squeaking hinges on all doors made it difficult to sleep thru nighttime bathroom breaks. Just a few small improvements could go a long way.

Great location, short walk to the city centre. Lots of places to eat and drink close by. Nice size apartment. Host was very helpful and clear instructions available for everything.

Needs a bit of updating as some of the facilities are quite worn, like the sink and the kitchen hob. But everything was clean so didn’t overly impact our stay.

The location in relation to Galway city centre was convenient. However, apartment no. 8 is situated on a busy road, with heavy traffic passing until 01:00 a.m. and started again as early as 5:00 a.m. In addition, construction work was taking place throughout the entire day. The accommodation description did not provide any warning or information regarding these disturbances.

In August 2026, we stayed for three days in apartment no. 8 at Donegan Court Aparthotel, for which we paid almost € 1,000. The apartment looked nothing like the photos shown on the website (see the photos we taken and added to this review). The apartment also had serious damp problems. The bed linen, towels and even our clothes remained damp throughout our entire stay. We reported the issues to both the duty manager and manager within two hours of arrival, however did not receive a response until the end of the following day and no concrete solution was offered. Our proposed solution was not addressed. Only on our final day, after several emails from us, compensation was offered, which was completely disproportionate to the rental price. Also, the compensation was offered for poor communication by the hotel management, however not for the problems of the appartement itself. We also contacted Booking.com, but they failed to take our complaint seriously and simply referred us back to the accommodation. Both Donegan Court Aparthotel and Booking.com fell seriously short in terms of the accuracy of the listing, the quality of the stay and customer service. We will never stay at this accommodation again or book accommodation through Booking.com!

Die Zimmer sind veraltet, die Wäsche ist immer leicht (Klamm) feucht .Ich glaube der Biden ist von unten nicht gedämmt. Es sind 3 Einzelbetten, kein Doppelbett. Die Sauberkeit könnte besser sein . Die Dusche ist über einen Durchlauferhitzer geregelt, der Wasserfluss ist wirklich schwach.

Everything was very accessible. It was great to be able to walk into Galway bars and shops. Really clear information and communication from the host/manager. The host was also very responsive about the minor problem we had with the electric.

Unfortunately the toaster shorted the electricity, yet the host sorted it out quickly. The vertical blinds were incapable of blocking out the security light on the building opposite that shone directly into the twin room.

This property is very well located for walking into the city center. There is free underground parking if you’ve rented a car which is super handy. It’s clean and the check in/check out instructions were good. Beds were good.

It lost points when our daughter’s laundry became locked in one of the wash machines. One of the emergency numbers in the guest book didn’t work at all and nobody was answering at the other number. Nobody got back to us the next morning after opening hours so we called again and they did finally get the clothes out but no compensation for the extra euros we spent trying to open the door. Only one burner workers on the stovetop, or hob, which made cooking breakfast a stage production. Finally, there are no condiments at all provided here. No tea, no coffee, no sugar, salt pepper. If you are providing a kitchen to tourists, provide minor supplies.

It was spacious, each of the 3 bedrooms had their own bathroom, the location made access to most of Galway a short walk, management was accessible and responsive.

We were inconvenienced for over a day by a lack of water in the bathrooms and two toilets that ran after they were flushed.

Oisin was very helpful & the instructions were spot on, location was great for the hospital ( 12 min walk up along the canal mostly) and only 8 min walk from Latin Quarter & loads of taxis if you didn't want to walk home

Location was fabulous - central, quiet, by the canal. Apartment was clean and fairly spacious.

The living area could not comfortably seat 3 people (one armchair and one tiny sofa). It felt functional rather than comfortable - eg no side lamps in kitchen/living room with harsh overhead lighting etc. The living area did not feel like somewhere we wanted to hang out in. Main bedroom had twin rather than a double bed. The windows to the bedrooms faced directly onto the central courtyard and we felt overlooked and as a result kept the curtains permanently drawn. Overall the apartment was functional and okay but not matching the level you would expect at this price point.

Wij kregen appartement 8 toegewezen en dit lijkt in niets op de foto’s op Booking.com. Het interieur is sterk verouderd, de kamers zijn piepklein, de wastafelafvoer is verroest, het warme water werkt met een timer en de televisie werkte niet. De geluidsoverlast is ronduit onaanvaardbaar: drukke weg, zwaar verkeer en zelfs met de ramen dicht konden we gesprekken aan de overkant letterlijk volgen. De prijs-kwaliteitverhouding is bijzonder slecht.

Une grande déception. Ce logement affichait le tarif le plus élevé de tout notre séjour en Irlande pour des prestations très en deçà des attentes : confort sommaire, propreté négligée et rapport qualité-prix injustifié.

Tiszta, tágas, jól felszerelt, igényes lakás. Az ágyak kényelmesek voltak, minőségi ágynemű és törölköző. . A lakás használatához részletes instrukciókat kaptunk, könnyű bejutás. A központ 10 perc séta, konnyen elérhető minden.

Apróság, de a TV távirányítója nem igazán működött, ráférne a csere.

Posizione comoda per visitare Galway, comodo parcheggio sotterraneo. L'appartamento era un po' datato e avrebbe bisogno di una rinnovata, ma nel complesso pulito e ordinato. Quando abbiamo soggiornato noi l'ascensore non era funzionante e con un bambino di 1 anno era complesso da gestire. I gestori /propriertari sono comunque stati molto gentili e ci hanno garantito un rimborso delle due notti che non abbiamo usufruito. Questo ci ha permesso di trovare una soluzione più comoda per la nostra situazione.

Difficoltà nella gestione dell'acqua calda della doccia, a volte troppo calda, altre troppo fredda. Balcone non troppo curato, necessiterebbe di una pulizia.

La limpieza y la ubicación, está muy cerca del centro pero en zona tranquila.

Por ponerle un "pero", no tiene secador de pelo y que no pudimos dejar las maletas antes de hacer el checking, tuvimos que buscar taquillas para dejarlas hasta las 16:00 que pudimos entrar al apartamento.

Great location, highly recommend this wonderful apartment in Galway. Everything is within walking distance.

The noise is awful. All the windows face very busy roads. Bring your ear plugs if you want to sleep! The couch and the arm chair in the living room are very dusty and smell bad

Super Lage, sehr zentral, alles gut zu Fuß zu erreichen, Supermarkt / Cafes und Restaurants in der unmittelbaren Umgebung und doch in einem ruhigen Viertel. Grundlegend gute Ausstattung der Wohnung.

Es riecht in der Wohnung etwas unangenehm - nach Speicher. Wir hatten durchgehend gelüftet. Es gab leider keinen Föhn.

While there are beds for four people, there isn’t living room furniture for four people. Also, there were no fans available to circulate air and it was very warm and humid. I also asked the management about the location of a hairdryer (listed amenity) and never got a response.

Great location It was really close to everything. A short walk to the town centre and harbour. Dmitry was really helpful with my queries and replied quickly. Has underground parking, which is fab as difficult parking on the street. We would book again.

It needs a bit of a freshen up. There was no curtains on the front bedroom and had to improvise as the shop across the street kept its outside lights on 24/7. Could do with some more coat hangers. The shower glass needed a good clean and shower seal needs replaced. The beds are really comfortable but a hazard to legs as they have square edges that stick out. I am going home with bruised legs. There were no placemats or coasters for the dining table or having a cuppa. Some housekeeping issues need rectified. You need a small mirror at the dressing tables as no sockets where full length mirrors are.

I find the location very convenient and peaceful.

Didn’t have a breakfast

Only 1 toilet for 4 people. Too many stairs. Tv was difficult to work. Refrigerator shelves on door were broken. Teapot had a bad crack do we couldn’t use it. One plate on hob never worked even after several notices. Beds & pillows very hard. Only 1 frying pan.

Location of apartment was perfect. Short walk to the Town but far enough away for it to be fairly quiet. Facilities good but not enough seating for 4 adults in lounge area. Was clean and comfortable.

Booking.com site stated Towels supplied. When we requested new towels we were told there is no Towel replacement for stays under 2 weeks, you would have to Launder the Towel you have at a cost of a minimum of 6€. This was a suprise as we have never had this before even in self catering. But in fairness to Donegan Court they did supply another set of 4 towels and extra toilet paper. Shower was poor and the bath and floor, when wet were VERY slippery. In double room wardrobe didn't open properly due to bedside cabinet. Also not enough hangers for a 4 night stay.

Bella struttura, ottima posizione a 5 minuti dal centro per visitare Galway, cucina dotata di tutto, camere abbastanza spaziose, posto auto in garage incluso e anche la lavatrice e asciugatrice nel basement. Chiaro e ben spiegato via mail l’accesso e il recupero chiavi. Anche se non ho mai visto l’host, si sono premurati da sapere sapere se tutto ok e Dmitri ha prontamente risposto ad una mia richiesta aggiuntiva.

Bagno un po’ piccolo per 4 persone e da ottimizzare. Ho avuto difficolta’ sul momento a trovare i coins e il detersivo per utilizzare la lavatrice e asciugatrice: una macchinetta nel basement per il cambio monete e il detersivo a pagamento sarebbe ottimo! Se c’erano, non erano indicati e visibili.

Parking facile d’accès, appartement idéalement situé, tout confort. Parfait. Le canal, la vie rythmée.

Une machine à laver dans les appartements serait l’idéal ! Prévoir 3x1€ de monnaie est assez compliqué lorsque l’on est vacances pour faire une machine.

Leider kein Check In möglich. Nach Buchung des Apartment Hotels via Booking und der Zahlung, kam durch den Vermieter die Aufforderung, die nötige Kaution per Link zu zahlen. Das war jedoch nicht möglich, da der Link auf keinem Endgerät zu öffnen war. Nach telefonischer Rücksprache mit dem Vermieter, man solle irgendwelche Einstellungen im Handy verändern, war ein öffnen des Links und die Zahlung weiterhin nicht möglich. Leider erfolgte kaum Kommunikation via Booking, sondern hauptsächlich telefonisch (was bei ungewöhnlichen Themen mit einfachem Schulenglisch schwierig gewesen ist) und machte es komplizierter. Alternativen zu den Links wurden leider nicht akzeptiert (z.B. Überweisung) und dadurch war ein Check In vor Ort nicht möglich. Die einzige Alternative des Vermieters (ausser aller nicht nutzbaren Links) war, dass wir unsere sämtlichen Kreditkartendaten inklusive Sicherheitsnummer durchgeben sollen. Dem sind wir natürlich nicht nachgekommen, da das kein seriöses Geschäftsgebaren ist. Am Ende standen wir abends 21.00 Uhr in Galway ohne Übernachtungsmöglichkeit da und ein Entgegenkommen seitens des Vermieters war nicht vorhanden (die komplette Übernachtung war immerhin schon via Booking bezahlt)! Booking hat uns dann zum Glück noch eine Alternative angeboten und das Donogan kostenfrei storniert. 23.30 Uhr konnten wir dann zum Glück in ein anderes Hotel einziehen (natürlich nicht in vergleichbarer Lage). Wir können nur abraten das Donogan zu buchen! Sicher hätten wir die Sicherheitskaution auch frühzeitiger zahlen können, aber es stand nirgends geschrieben, dass man das bis zu einem gewissen Zeitpunkt machen muss, Hauptsache natürlich vor dem Check in. In heutiger Zeit sollte es möglich sein, andere Zahlungen zu ermöglichen, zum Beispiel via Booking oder Kreditkartenüberweisung. Friss oder stirb ist keine Alternative!

Location, location, location! It was perfect walking distance to the happening city center. Convenient parking in the basement garage. The only real downside was that the elevator was broken and made climbing 3 or 4 flights of stairs difficult. Luckily our stronger members were able to help the weaker members. We are a group of 5, all 70 yrs of age or older!

There were a couple of minor issues we informed the owners, but there were no deal breakers.

El apartamento es bastante completo, no le falta menaje de cocina. Tiene todo lo necesario, además de utensilios y productos de limpieza, estropajo, balleta, varias pastillas lavavajillas. También hay café, te y azúcar. Hay gel y champú para el baño. La ubicación es muy buena, cerca del centro pero tranquila. Muy buena comunicación en todo momento con la propiedad. Si vuelvo a Galway posiblemente repetiría alojamiento.

La ducha tiene muy poca presión de agua, pero es cierto que la propiedad enseguida se preocupó por revisar la instalación. La TV es vieja, se agradecería una smart TV para poder visualizar tú plataforma preferida al llegar al alojamiento. Una de las camas estaba hundida y hacía bastante ruido, las otras dos bien. La lavadora y secadora es de pago, por el precio del alojamiento considero que debería estar incluido el uso de ambas.

Location was excellent only 150 yards from the start of the town centre. Apartment clean, tidy and everything needed for our four night stay . Includes car parking, washing machines in the basement and tea and coffee.

Estuve alojada allí hace 15 años en un apartamento de 2 dormitorios y tenía buenos recuerdos del sitio.Me gustó más la situación de ese apartamento porque estaba dentro del recinto. Esta vez me tocó el número 6 que tiene acceso desde la calle con una escalera algo empinada. Ahora me ha parecido que necesitaba algunos retoques. Quizás pintura y las puertas de poco calidad. El baño muy anticuado. Bañera con ducha muy incómoda para nuestra edad( 70 años) sin algo para cogerte para entrar en ella. También toallas algo pequeñas y ya viejas. Una pena! No creo que vuelva

This is well located and size-full apartment that has all the amenities you can expect from holiday home. Nice bonus is the balcony with the canal/river view.

I don't remember there being a dishwasher in the kitchen, although that wasn't an issue for us since we only stayed for a few days. The location and the apartment's layout are both great, but the interior feels a bit generic and lacks character. Adding just a few cozy touches would make it feel much more like a home.

I felt very safe as a solo traveller, the place was in an amazing location with just a short walk into Galway or Monroe’s bar if you wanted to stay a little closer and listen to great music

Location and view to the river.

Some of the surfaces (floor at the main bedrooom and living room table) could be updated already. We had some trouble with showers before we noticed the guidelines how to use them.

Ligging is goed.

Slecht onderhouden kamer. Roest en schimmel in de douche. Zag er zeker niet zo uit als omschreven en op de foto’s.

Great central location, easy access to city centre along canal and riverside. The apartment generally was roomy and well equipped for a self catering stay. Immediate surrounding area had lots of restaurants and bars which were quieter than main city areas. Communication with management company was mostly good.

The room with double bed wasn't big enough for two people to move around in, ended up using twin bedded room as well. The room looking onto the courtyard was noisy with people coming and going through the night and into small hours of the morning. Blinds not effective in blocking out light from street and inner courtyard. No plug points near mirrors so contacted management to ask for free standing mirror to use and told there were plug points beside the wall mirrors. Reiterated that this was not the case and heard nothing more from them. A minor detail but disappointing as they repeatedly say in their messages to reach out if needing assistance. Communal bin area us in garage. BE AWARE... I was able to open garage door from hallway without key to dispose of rubbish however was unable to get back out of the garage as door locked behind me. Fortunately my husband came looking for me after I had been away a while. Not sure what I would have done had I been a solo traveller.
