Reviewed Aug 17, 2026We chose this place for our family weekend getaway because: 1) location was close to trails etc. 2) private, 3) spacious, 4) cute and homey, 5) mountain view. This home had everything we needed in the kitchen to cook and braai, it was very clean and nicely designed to the detail (even the bedside plugs had USB-C port). Check in and check out process was extremely easy and straightforward. We only stayed here for 1 night and regretted not staying longer. Nice home for the family to relax after a long day of adventure in Tsitsikamma. Will definitely stay again!
The steps/ladder to the top room is quite steep and need to be careful with little ones. The room upstairs was also quite warm which was nice for the winter but may be too warm for the summer.

Reviewed Jul 16, 2026My friends and I had a wonderful stay at this cottage. It was peaceful, clean and cozy. Located close to the Tsitsikamma National Park. Amazing views of the night sky for stargazers.The local people were also incredibly friendly.

Die Unterkunft wurde als „Beautiful garden cottage“ ausgeschrieben, aber leider ist am Garten und dem Cottage nicht mehr viel beautiful! Das Bett mit einer Breite von nicht mal 140cm ist schon sehr schmal für 2 Erwachsene. Das Sofa und der Sessel waren schon stark durchgesessen. Die Sitzkissen auf den Terrasse Stühlen zerrissen.

Local silencioso e relaxante. Sentimo-nos muito seguros com o portão alto e o sistema de cercamento. A localização é perfeita para explorar o Parque Nacional de Tsitsikamma.

Es war ziemlich nahe bei einem Township. Kurz vor der Ankunft wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass das elektrische Eingangstor nicht funtioniert und deshalb nicht mehr verriegelt werden kann. Im Haus kam aus beiden Wasserhähnen nur eine dunkelbraune, schlammige Brühe. Wir haben uns eine neue Unterkunft gesucht und den Besitzern mitgeteilt, dass wir das Geld zurück möchten. Darauf sind sie nicht eingegangen.

Reviewed Mar 7, 2026Maison située dans un agréable jardin. Les équipements sont modestes mais fonctionnels comme le barbecue. La chambre principale est grande, la literie est bonne. Le tout est fonctionnel et situé au coeur du petit village, presque totalement dédié au parc et aux excursions. L'hôte est joignable par téléphone immédiatement et donne les informations nécessaires. Le lieu est adapté aux familles car il y a 2 petits lits en mezzanine, en plus de la grande chambre pour 2.
Le logement est modeste. Il mérite d'être soutenu car bien tenu avec peu de moyens et assez grand. Il y aurait des choses à améliorer comme le nettoyage plus précis des bords de fenêtre et l'amélioration du coulissage de la baie vitrée, mais rien de grave. Le barbecue serait à remplacer et des cailloux à l'entrée rendraient l'arrivée plus propre. La chambre n°2 est une mezzanine donc ouverte au-dessus du salon.

Reviewed Jan 15, 2026Ein nettes Cottage mit eigenem Garten und Zufahrt. Freundliche Kommunikation mit der Eigentümerin. Sehr umfangreiche Einrichtung. Es fehlte nichts. Feuerholz für Kamin und Barbecue vorhanden. Lage ist sicher und sehr ruhig. Schöner Blick vom Schlafzimmer in den Garten. Schöne bequeme Veranda. Aircondition vorhanden was sehr hilfreich war bei den aktuellen Temperaturen. Zwei zusätzliche Betten auf einer Dach Empore. Treppe ist aber recht steil für kleine Kinder. Self check in möglich mit Schlüssel Tresor am Eingang.
Das Häuschen und die Einrichtung ist leider in die Jahre gekommen und auch abgewohnt und bedarf zahlreicher Renovierung. Die Gemütlichkeit und die Ausstattung hat aber ihren eigenen Charakter und Charme und lies uns über einiges hinwegsehen, was wir normalerweise nicht durchgehen lassen würden.

Reviewed Jan 14, 2026Loved the garden setting, the braai facilities and utilities offered. We had a lovely stay at the cottage. The Cottage is spacious and had everything we need! Loved it for a relaxing afternoon and evening.
Out of the hosts control we had a power outage during the evening due to the wild fires. This meant minimum light and no water as the water system is linked to electricity.

Reviewed Jan 13, 2026Location was great, very close to the attractions in Tsitsikama. Enough space for five people, All physical furnishing and kitchen equipment was available. We also felt safe with the lockable sliding high gate and fence around the property.
Although it had an air-conditioner, it was still very hot inside, particularly in the loft, as can be expected on a hot summers day in South Africa. There was an expel air fan in the loft that helped, but possibly a bigger one or maybe a mini-split air-conditioner up there would’ve been helpful.

La dueña no vino por razones de salud pero fue muy amable con nosotros y nos explico todo a la perfección, a parte de insistir de decirle si necesitábamos cualquier cosa.

Reviewed Aug 4, 2025La seva ubicació i espai perfecte per una familia. Que disposés de fusta per fer llar de foc va ser tot un detall. Cuina molt ben equipada i amb llet, te i cafè a disponibilitat.
La bomba de calor es parava constantment, era hivern i feia molt de fred a l estança durant la nit. Només hi havia manta elèctrica al llit de matrimoni, als llits dels nens no n’hi havia…

Was echt heel koud. We hadden van te voren gemeld hoe laat we aankwamen. Helaas had ze de verwarming (een mobiele airco) nog niet aangezet. Na een uur stopte de airco ermee door een storing en was het echt heel koud in het huis. De airco leeg laten lopen. En na een uur was het weer hetzelfde liedje. Gewoon niet comfortabel. Was beter geweest als er een verwarming was geweest.

Incluso tenía una chimenea, lo que le daba un toque muy hogareño. El entorno era tranquilo, silencioso y se sentía muy seguro. Los anfitriones fueron amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudar, respondiendo rápidamente. Nos hubiera encantado quedarnos más tiempo.

2 single beds in loft was acceptable to us as group of 4. However might be difficult for elderly to access. This is in no way negative. Otherwise everything was great.

Reviewed Sep 30, 2024Location was walking distance from town. Cottage was private with own entrance. They kept hens and a Rooster and they had just had chicks. They were so adventurous. We fell in love with the hosts pet dog, Storm, a sweet natured and friendly Husky cross.
The water tank refilled all the time. I'm not sure if the toilet cistern maybe ran too much. Easily fixed. I meant to tell the hosts.

Simonne was very accommodating even after we arrived later than expected and she was very helpful with regards to all our queries. She also helped us move the booking a few weeks due to an unplanned family gathering. 10/10 would recommend.

Reviewed Jun 19, 2024Nice size cottage, clean and neat, with comfortable beds. Good size bathroom with lovely hot shower. Great for our one night stay. Our hostess was friendly, easy to deal with, and readily available via WhatsApp. Our daughter loved the upstairs loft.
Didn't have the best night's sleep despite very comfortable beds - music from a nearby sports club or community centre kept us awake on Friday night, then somebody's rooster started up at 3:30am. Didn't realise that the property borders on small holdings, but otherwise the area is very green and quiet. Would have liked to spend more time in the tranquil garden of our cottage, but our trip was just an overnight stay.
