There is an endless view to the property with serene views of the ocean but thats it.

There were a couple of things, 1.Rooms- They were not very well maintained and locks were broken for bathrooms 2. Service- The staff when asked to clean the sheets, were extremely unhappy to do so and made it clear. They djdnt have drinking water, they didnt provide us with any cutlery or glasses when requested upon 3- Racism- There was some altercation between us and the host/staff which required us to pay money which we were ready to do so but before we could reach that point, they standardized us as “you indians are all like this” 4- Staff- extremely rude and unprofessional. They dont realise that they are in hospitality and need to treat guests well. One of the staff members actually charged on us. All in all- would not recommend anyone to visit the place. Extremely bad service, staff, owner.

The location and views are beautiful

but unfortunately our experience was disappointing The service was poor, especially around the beach and pool where staff were rarely available. The food was not good and was not enjoyed by my family. Cleanliness was also below expectations, and room cleaning was only done once every three days. There were many stray dogs around the property, which made the stay uncomfortable. In addition, the bar was never operating and did not serve any food or drinks during our stay. Overall, the beautiful scenery was the only highlight of our visit.

The hotel is beautiful. Super tasteful interior and amazing breakfast. You are just by the sea, but you can’t really swim there due to the rocks, which was a bit sad. Also the restaurant and reception is not by the villas and the pool, so you need to carry you luggage a five mins walk and they don’t serve coffee or food by the pool. The location is a bit remote, but super peaceful. We enjoyed the stay a lot

I celebrated my birthday at Swell Shacks and they made it so special! We got welcoming and celebratory drinks which was very thoughtful. Also enjoyed the pool and lounge area very much! The food was great, staff were welcoming, the views were exceptional and we really enjoyed our time there. Definitely will be coming back!

Loved the vibe, interior, it’s just like in the pictures. Close to all the places we wanted to visit. We had a couple of small issues in the room which staff quickly attended and resolved, which was helpful.

I would suggest making the breakfast more varied and offering a larger selection. When staying for six days, having the same limited options every morning becomes a bit uncomfortable. At times, it also felt like there wasn’t quite enough food. A more diverse and plentiful breakfast would make the experience even better.

I really loved the peaceful atmosphere and the beautiful beachfront location. The villa design was stunning, very clean, and felt private. The food also good. The pool area was especially relaxing, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay.

I LOVED this hotel. Directly on the beach where you can watch surfers or turtles. The sunrise and sunset was incredible. The rooms were spacious, cool, and a unique design. The pool is picturesque and it always feels quiet. The breakfast was delicious and so were the strawberry daiquiris. I recommend staying here if you want to travel along the beach locations in the south.

The shampoo and conditioner didn’t make my hair feel good. I would recommend bringing your own!

⚠️ Think twice before booking — the main problem here is the staff and the way the property is managed, both in the hotel and the restaurant. If you want a calm, relaxed, and stress-free stay, read this first. Even simple requests met with attitude, and the overall atmosphere felt unprofessional rather than welcoming. What made this more concerning was that one of the individuals involved, who we were told is the owner of the business, lives on the property and appeared to allow — and even welcome — this kind of approach rather than resolve situations properly. As he told us himself, “If you saw the negative reviews, why did you come?” Our stay began with being given a room completely different from what we had booked, with a strange smell, weak AC, and right next to the parking area, where you could not even properly open the curtains because it became see-through. After we raised this, we were told the property was fully booked, yet another room later became available after we had a call with the person managing bookings. Later in the stay, we were unexpectedly pressured late at night to make a payment despite having been told earlier that payment would be made at checkout. We booked despite the negative reviews regarding staff, but after this experience it became very easy to understand those reviews — and why the same problems keep happening. If respectful service and a relaxed stay matter to you, I would strongly recommend considering other options in the area.

Расположение на первой линии прямо у океана, не верьте тем, кто говорит, что купаться нельзя - в океане сделаны «ванны» в них прекрасно можно понежиться))) завтраки вкусные, но немного не хватило разнообразия. Если вам хочется уединения - точно выбирайте этот отель!!!

1. Пришлось 3 раза менять номер - в первом не работал кондей, во втором был плохо слив, после нам дали семейный номер - это было топ!! 2. Завтраки вегетарианские все-таки маловаты да и разнообразия бы чуть больше. Не хватило фруктов на завтрак - просто свежих

On the positive side, the pool area is very pleasant and a great place to relax. The beds were comfortable, which made for good nights of sleep, and the view of the beach is definitely a highlight of the stay.

The WiFi connection was quite weak and unreliable. The design of the cabins limits privacy, as the main window faces the central path and nearby cabins, making it difficult to open the curtains comfortably. While the staff were friendly, they were not very attentive or proactive. We also rented a bike from the hotel, but it was old and not functioning properly, which was disappointing. The breakfast menu is quite basic and could use more variety. Additionally, we experienced a significant issue with ants in our room. The beach nearby is great for surfing, but not ideal for swimming due to rocky conditions. Lastly, the location is about 15 minutes away from Mirissa, which may be inconvenient depending on your plans.

Personnel pas agréable du tout, de plus, il n’arrêtait pas de faire peter des pétards et ils ont mis la musique à fond à proximité des bungalows jusqu’à 1h du matin.

We couldn’t choose better place to spend our honeymoon. The resort looks exactly as on the pictures. The room was spacious, perfectly clean and the cleaning was provided every three days. Delicious fresh breakfast with a view to the ocean. You can rent a motor bike from hotel for reasonable price, do yoga every morning at pool area or walk 10 minutes to madiha beach and swim with turtles. Staff is very kind and helpful. The overall energy of the place is amazing.

Room was beautiful, bed so comfy, staff were very friendly, food was yummy, pool facility was also. Situated right in front of a perfect lil surf break. Super quiet and chill.

The toilet had not been cleaned very well before we arrived and if you’re staying in the cabana’s, they’re about 150 m walk away from the pool facilities. We don’t mind but some might.

We loved our stay at Swell Shacks. The rooms were beautiful with the comfiest pillows we've ever had. The staff were incredibly accommodating, delicious breakfast and it was wonderful being so close to the sea, watching surfers and admiring the views. Lots to do in the area as well.

Wir waren für 10 Nächte im Swell Shacks und haben uns wohl gefühlt. Das Hotel liegt wirklich unmittelbar am Wasser – der Blick aufs Meer und das konstante Wellenrauschen waren ein Highlight für uns. Man kann dem Strand entlang zum Restaurant laufen und Einsiedlerkrebse und sogar Schildkröten beobachten. Die Familienvilla war sehr geräumig und stilvoll, das Aussenbadezimmer praktisch und tatsächlich sehr sauber/kaum Insekten. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und hilfsbereit, wenn auch teilweise etwas gemütlich unterwegs. Von der Lage her war es für uns super – in einem schönen Quartier mit coolen Cafés/Restaurants und Shops in Fussdistanz.

Man merkt dem Hotel an, dass es schon ein paar Jahre alt ist. Wir hatten das Gefühl, dass es etwas besser unterhalten werden könnte. Die Handtücher waren teilweise verblichen oder hatten Löcher. Die Fussabtreter vor den Wohnungen waren wirklich eklig und sollten dringen ersetzt werden. Zudem könnte der Service allgemein besser und persönlicher sein. Das würde das gesamte Erlebnis nochmal verbessern.

Die Unterkunft liegt direkt am Meer. Hinter der Unterkunft hat es überall Palmen, schöne grüne Pflanzen und Bananenbäume. Alles ist sehr gepflegt. Wir hatten unser Zimmer direkt am Meer, man hört dir ganze Zeit das Rauschen der Wellen. Das Frühstück war im inbegriffen, man konnte täglich von einer Karte wählen. Die Smoothie Bowl und das Abocado Toast waren der Hammer.

Leider wird das Zimmer nicht jeden Tag gereinigt. In der Nacht hört man Tiere auf dem Dachboden. Andere Gäste haben über Ratten oder Mäuse bereichtet. Teilweise hört man die Tiere fast die ganze Nacht. Wem das Rauschen der Wellen zu laut ist, kann Mühe damit haben. Uns hat es sehr gefallen. Das Zimmer war nicht riesig, hat einfach gerade das was man braucht. Aber daher passte das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht ganz.

We konden niet douchen omdat het riool verstopt was. De loopafstand vanaf de cabana is circa 300 meter. Het personeel was niet echt vriendelijk en spraken slecht Engels.

We spent 2 nights in the part of the accommodation called Swell Villas. We arrived from a 5-star resort and felt a bit unsure at first, but any concerns quickly disappeared. It’s important to keep in mind that this is not a hotel – these are bungalows, modern and Bali-style, but not a hotel, and the services work differently here. If you’re aware of that in advance, you won’t be disappointed. The facilities, surroundings, food, and staff – everything is excellent. The breakfasts are amazing, tasty, and generously portioned. Great coffee and smoothies, too. We ate exclusively at their restaurant throughout our stay and tried about 75% of the menu – and I can say with a peaceful heart that their food is fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. And last but not least – if you love dogs, you’ll feel right at home here.

The location is peaceful and the rooms are big and beautifully furnished. It has a very chilled vibe. The pool is lovely and breakfast menu is good.

No hot water throughout stay; the best it gets is like warm, the worst is freezing cold. Housekeeping is only every 3 days even though listing says every day. For us this is an issue for a property adjacent to the beach - you really need clean towels and sheets and the room swept and mopped daily. At this price point daily housekeeping should be happening. The breakfast menu is good but to only be allowed one dish and one drink is quite limiting - we would expect juice and coffee as a minimum and toast should be standard, not your only choice, so this needs work at this cost point. The light coming into the bedroom via the glass door is not great at sunrise on holiday. This could be improved easily with a curtain in the room.

Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt im Swell Shacks in Madiha! Der Ort hat eine entspannte Atmosphäre, ein wunderschönes Design und eine leckere Küche. Wir haben das leckere Frühstück beim Zugucken der Surfer sehr genossen. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich & kam und bei Wünschen sehr entgegen. Wir können das Hotel sehr empfehlen.

De aesthetic is echt prachtig!! Ontbijt is mega lekker en vrij veel keuze en prachtig uitzicht op de oceaan en de surfers. Het zwembad is echt proper alsook de kamers. Personeel is heel vriendelijk en werkt heel hard. Heel fijne sfeer dat er hangt en 2 fijne coole honden

Wij hadden wel niet zo een mooi uitzicht, uitzicht op de andere kamer of het gangpad. Maar kijk dit weegt niet op tegen al de rest.

Hotel (dwa bungalow deluxe, jeden dla nas, drugi dla przyjaciół) rezerwowaliśmy z dużym wyprzedzeniem, a mimo to zostaliśmy rozdzieleni na dwie lokalizacje (o czym nie ma mowy w ofercie) i musieliśmy chodzić do siebie oraz na śniadania główną drogą w burzy i deszczu.

Design oraz naturalne materiały budowlane użyte w projekcie. Przepyszne jedzenie, zdrowe smoothie i napoje. Cisza, spokój, nienachalny personel. Ogólny luz :)

We had an amazing stay at Swell Shacks. I would definitely come back. The rooms are clean, the staff is very accommodating and friendly, and the breakfast is delicious.

The only small downside is that the rooms get quite bright early in the morning, so I’d recommend bringing a sleeping mask.

Quarto muito espaçoso e limpo, bem decorado. Localização conveniente, apenas a 10 minutos de mota da praia principal. Ótimo pequeno almoço. Staff bastante disponível. Ajudaram a alugar scooter.

We spent three nights at this beautiful place, and everything was absolutely perfect. The design of the rooms and the entire property was stunning—an absolute delight for anyone who loves architecture and design. The oceanfront location is amazing, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves made our stay even more special. The pool was spotless, and breakfast was fresh and delicious. The Swell Villas and pool area are just a 3-minute walk from the restaurant and the Swell Shacks. The staff were super helpful and kind, making us feel welcome at every moment. A fantastic place we’d return to in a heartbeat — it was truly hard to leave!

The location was great , not in the touristy area , it made you feel more special . The breakfast was great as you could choose something from their menu, pool was great and the view unforgettable. The villa was so so beautiful, decorated perfectly , in front of the pool . Staff was really friendly . Definitely recommend it .

The location is very convenient and accessible to the nearby beaches and main activities, nice design and decorations, staff are very friendly and helpful.

The restaurant is 250-300 meters far from the cabanas. housekeeping only takes place on the 3rd day of your stay. No safe box is available in the rooms (although you can leave your valuables at the front desk). on the first day water in the shower was cold, 2nd day there was no water for few hours.

Emplacement magnifique avec une vue unique sur la mer. Chambre décorées avec goût ! Personnel sympathique et soucieux de bien faire ! Petit déjeuner très bons. Les extérieurs sont très propres et confortables. Ce n’est pas un soucis de se déplacer entre les deux espaces de l’hôtel.

Au vu du prix significatif de cet hôtel une attention plus particulière pourrait être apportée à certains aspects de service : ménage quotidien des chambres plutôt que tous les 3 jours, une continuité de service entre l’espace restauration (situé sur le premier site) et l’espace piscine (deuxième site). À noter que les chambres sur le premier site sont plus récentes mais sont particulièrement bruyantes due au passage très régulier

We had a very bad, pathetic experience here. Right from the check in up till the checkout we encountered a lot of problems from the staff. They are extremely unprofessional and casual in their behavior and extremely rude. There was an account at the reception who gave us wrong information regarding check in, and we wasted half our day waiting and her attitudewas way off. The food is below average and it was very weird that they "close" the reception for the night. There were no staff available at night and no security. They are not willing to accommodate any request and they dont even communicate it properly. The villas were situated about 200 meters away from the reception and there was no intercom phone either to call them up. Overall it was a very bad experience

The hotel is truly beautiful, and its beachfront location makes it even more special. The pool area is perfect for relaxing, and the room was stylish and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent — both high-quality and beautifully presented.

Even though the hotel is great, it’s located quite far from the main city. However, that’s the price you pay for privacy and relaxation.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel! The place is beautiful, calm, and very relaxing, but what really made our experience unforgettable was the incredible staff. Everyone was so kind, caring, and genuinely went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Even after our check-out, they helped us so kindly — we are really grateful for their service and generosity. Also, the hotel’s dog was such a lovely companion, always around with good vibes and making the place feel even warmer. Thank you again for everything — we would love to come back one day!

Swell Shacks is the best place to stay in Mirissa! 🌴 It’s such a peaceful and detoxifying spot — perfect if you want to truly relax and destress. Their amenities are very modern and well thought out, and the breakfast they provided was amazing. The staff are so warm, kind, and hospitable, always making sure guests are comfortable. Honestly, I can’t say anything bad about this place — everything was perfect. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Mirissa!
