Perfekte Lage: Die Unterkunft liegt direkt an der Hauptstraße, befindet sich aber in einer Seitenstraße und ist dadurch herrlich ruhig. Die Gastgeber sind unglaublich hilfsbereit, organisieren alles für einen und die Kommunikation läuft völlig unkompliziert ab. Bei den Zimmern handelt es sich um kleine Cabanas, die sehr sauber und mit allem Nötigen ausgestattet sind. Über dem Bett ist zudem ein sehr gutes Moskitonetz angebracht, welche in dieser Gegend großen Wert ist.

Heeerlijke locatie! Schone kamers, fijn buitenverblijf en koelkast waar je gebruik van kan maken! Daarbij heeft de Manager voor ons alle activiteiten geregeld, allemaal super! Geheel zorgeloos verblijf! Daarbij is de locatie ook super, 2 minuten lopen naar het strand en de drukke gezellige straat met vele heerlijke restaurantjes! Wij wouden hier eerste instantie 3 dagen verblijven maar hebben er 6 in totaal van gemaakt omdat het zo fijne locatie is!

Ontzettend aardige en meedenkende host. Erg flexibel met het meedenken met eventueel later uitchecken in verband met surfen of het regelen van vervoer naar Elephant Rock. Kamers waren blinkend schoon, airco werkte goed en bedden hebben een klamboe. Buiten prive mini terras met hangmat. De locatie is echt perfect, 2 min van arugam bay beach en de winkelstraat, maar net op een klein afstandje zodat je geen last hebt van het partygeluid. Erg genoten van ons verblijf.

Perfect location! Walking distance from everything you could want in town. Newly built rooms, comfortable bed, good working a/c + fan, great shower with hot water. Drying rack outside every room for swimwear and towels. Owner was very friendly and offered help with whatever you needed.

Check in was 3pm which we thought was quite late but also understandable as they are quite busy. They let us store our bags whilst waiting and use the bathroom to change so we could head to the beach to wait.

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour dans ce logement. Le propriétaire est très gentil et nous a organisé le transport pour notre prochaine destination. Le logement est très bien placé à côté de la rue commerciale, des restaurants et de la plage tout en étant très calme. J’ai beaucoup aimé la terrasse avec le transat. Je recommande

Es wird von „Villa“ geschrieben, aber es ist nur ein Zimmer mit eigenem Bad Es gibt vorne einen Bereich mit einigen Tischen und Sesseln, aber verkauft wird hier nichts. Für mich ist es dort sehr laut, ohne Ohrstöpsel ging nichts. 2 Nächte schlecht geschlafen, weil zum Teils man alles hört auch wenn draußen wer gesprochen hat. Eine Moschee ist in der Nähe und da ist das erste Gebet um 4:40 in der Früh also sehr schlecht isoliert Sollte man mit Lärm kein Problem haben, dann ist es ein gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

Nous avons passé 6 jours au The Woodnest et nous avons vraiment adoré notre séjour ! L’endroit est très propre, agréable et surtout idéalement situé : à seulement une centaine de mètres de la plage. On peut littéralement rentrer de la plage pieds nus en quelques minutes 😄 Un énorme merci à Mohamed, qui a été incroyable pendant tout notre séjour. Il était vraiment à l’écoute et disponible à la moindre demande. Dès qu’on avait besoin de quelque chose, il était là presque à la seconde pour nous aider. Ça fait vraiment toute la différence ! L’hôtel est également juste à côté de la rue principale avec tous les commerces et restaurants, tout en étant suffisamment en retrait dans une petite rue pour ne pas avoir les nuisances liées aux voitures et au passage. Bref, un super endroit pour séjourner à Arugam Bay, et surtout une mention spéciale à Mohamed pour son accueil et sa gentillesse. On recommande à 100 % ! 😊

Really clean room, perfect location; close to everything but calm surroundings and the owners were really nice!

The room is very neat and clean. Very pleasant to spend time relaxing. A/c is a great plus and the shower works very well! The bed is very comfortable:) The service is super, and Rasem and Mohamood are very nice and helpful! Great job!!! 🤍🇱🇰

It was perfectly close to the center yet on a quiet street very close to the sea and into our surfing lessons and into the main street with all of the good restaurants in five minutes walking distance I recommend the wood nest if you want to be in the busy area yet I have a little bit of peacefulness. The room was just what we could have needed, air conditioning, good shower, comfy bed with a net. We also did our laundry which we gave and got back the following day. Thank you to Mohamed !

Everything was great! The staff were super friendly, help us extend our stay, and even booked a safari for us. The location is quiet, and you only have to walk 1 minute to all of the restaurants to and shops on the main street. The bed is comfortable, and the communal tables outside were nice to work from. The hammock was a plus. Great stay!

It was very small and nice hotel which nearby everything, apart from the noisy part at the same time. It is run by very helpfull locals which is advantegous to ask everything to them to make your vacation perfect. I loved very big bathroom :D

shower part can be seperated from the toilet part with a glass or curtain to avoid splashing water all around :)

Checkin saatinden erken geldik, normal oda tutmuştuk ancak bizim odamız dolu olduğu için bize deluxe oda verdiler. Çok memnun kaldık. Duşu gayet iyi sıcaklık ayarı var, kliması iyi çalışıyor. Tam ana cadde üzerinde değil caddeden gelen sesi almıyor.

Stayed in this property with my girlfriend for over a week and it was fantastic! We are really thankful for how kind the staff was from the start. The even offered us a bigger room than the one we paid for. The rooms are cozy, clean and with air conditioning. The bed is super comfortable and has mosquito net which we didn’t really need as there were no mosquitoes inside. The place is quiet and the WiFi works perfectly. We ended up staying longer than our original booking because we really liked it and the staff was kind enough to allow us to stay in the same room.

Great relaxed accommodation. Clean and tidy with good modern AC, comfortable bed, and a a good shower ans bathroom. Staff are really friendly and the Woodnest is a perfect beach vibe. Location is close to the main shops and eateries, and the southern end of the beach where the waves are! Thanks for having me 🫶🏻

Clean, Quietly, Air Conditioner, mosquitonet, very clean bedroom, no bad smell look like new. Bad changes and laundry ( need to ask) Very nice and helpful personal, good location to any spot and infrastructure in state but Quilty so you can enjoy rest of day. Will be booking again.

Minder fijne bedden en lakens Koude douche (kon ook niet warm) Vrij kleine kamers Afrekenen was erg vervelend. We hadden haast, taxi stond al te wachten en toen bleek dat we in cash moesten betalen. Geen flexibiteit.

Nice remodelled property, rooms were clean, ac worked great, plenty of space. The location is great for walking to the main break as well as restaurants nearby. If you need anything (tuktuk/scooter rental, taxi etc) the owners are very happy to help coordinate. The owners are very kind and happy to include you in their local card/board games! Would recommend 👍

The bedroom is new and the bed was very confortable. Also it was very useful to have a mosquito net since we felt the mosquitos at night. Staff very friendly and kind, always available to help solve problems. Location is very central, 5 min walking distance from the main road, beach, restaurants and stores.

There is no hot water. Eventhough it was mostly hot outside, showering in cold water at night is not the best.

The friendly staff, led by Mohammed, were highly attentive to my needs and always up for a chat. They helped organise a taxi to Colombo airport and a scooter one afternoon. The cabana itself was spacious, clean and quiet. I particularly enjoyed the small porch out the front where I could read and relax after a long day at the beach. That the accommodation is so centrally located is an added bonus. I will be recommending Woodnest to friends coming to Arugam Bay.

The place has had a lot of work done recently and largely appears to be new. Location couldn't get any better and the chaps overseeing the place were real gentleman also.

Bed was a touch too hard.

Staff was amazing and very helpful of every need we had. The location was perfect: very close to the beach and restaurants on the main road. The room and toilet was super clean and air conditioning works perfectly. They also have a restaurant where you can buy traditional food and the cook is very talented and also listen to everything you need to modify (the rice & curry is amazing!!). I don’t have words for the kindness of the staff and their attention to every need we had. Highly recommended spot in Arugam Bay!!

Very friendly staff. Felt very welcome from the beginning. The room is very clean and brand new. The AC works like a charm. I asked for a banana before my morning surf and received a whole fruit salad! Great people and service.

We really enjoyed our stay at Woodnest. The rooms are simple but nicely done – clean, comfortable, and surprisingly spacious. They might not be super fancy, but for the price (especially compared to other places in the area), they’re genuinely such a good find. The location is peaceful, and the setting has a really nice, natural feel to it. But what made the experience even better was the friendly and helpful staff – everyone we spoke to was kind and welcoming, which added such a nice touch to the stay. If you’re looking for a solid, no-fuss place that still feels well cared for and has a bit of charm, Woodnest is definitely worth it. Can u change this a little

We extended our stay with multiple days because of the great location and facilities. The staff is friendly and willing to help, if we needed anything we would just have to ask. Great stay!!

Absolutely loved our stay at The Woodnest! Everything about this place was perfect. The location is excellent—just a short walk to the beach, yet peaceful and quiet. The rooms are beautifully designed, clean, and comfortable with lovely garden views. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Breakfast was delicious and offered a great variety. We especially loved the relaxing outdoor spaces and the calm atmosphere all around. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Arugam Bay!

Actually nothing. I got to stay in a place that I didn’t book on booking.

I went there for stay on 18th of August in 2024. It was a crowded day in Arugambay. This property location is in the Arugambay town itself. But when I reached there they told that rooms are booked manually and told about a place situated in Panama road around 2km away from town. This property’s mentioned price was nearly 9500 rupees. They took money 10000 for that property they suggested later . Even for later suggested property they told something like will take 10000 and will give me back 5000. People should communicate clearly. I have explained it to them clearly . They did fraud there. Im about to complain about these to our government officers as well. I had to stay in that suggested location since there was a shortage of accommodations on that day. I was waiting for write this review in peace. Think twice before make a booking for this property in Arugambay. They forward you to other locations.

It’s in a great location and the staff and very friendly and helpful - will help you organise scooters, surf boards etc.

Nothing we didn’t like but if you struggle in the heat definitely opt for an AC room as the fan may not be enough.

It’s a good value for the Money! You have everything you‘ll need and the location is perfect!

Some Frogs in the Toilet- but thats often in Sri Lanka

It was super quiet and chill but a great location to get into town and to the beach. The staff were super lovely and took us to see elephants and crocodiles for free!! We’d definitely recommend and hope to come back soon.

I booked the AC villa and it was perfect for me! I extended my stay to 3 weeks because I enjoyed it here so much. The location ist perfect - super close to everything. Good Wifi (good enough for me to have video calls for work!!), good food (try the Spaghetti with homemade tomato sauce!!), very good value, and super nice hosts that take care of everything. Thank you so much - I'm sure I will be back!!!

I could hear people partying in the place next to Woodnest at night/morning every now and then - but well, it's Arugambay after all ;) Other than that, everything was perfect!

Restaurant is excellent and very good value for money. Very good wifi. Staff are very generous and helpful. Much cheaper than a lot of other Arugum bay options.
