This appt was excellent. Spotlessly clean. Nice touch with pkts of crisps & cookies & then chocolates in the fridge. Everything was here in abundance. And the room had space and great comfy seating. We loved our time there & will be back when we visit Whangamata again in the future.

Awesome!

A perfect stay- comfortable bedding and great location. Walking distance to the beach and a cute park for our toddler. Went above and beyond with what was left in the house, welcome snacks, well stocked pantry and little things you wouldn’t even think of until you needed them. Thank you!

Perfect place for a family holiday - 6 adults ( including an 18 and 19yr old) plus a 16mth old (who loved the toys in the cupboard inside and the beach toys (buckets, spades etc) stored outside. 50 metres from a playground, next to the estuary and a short walk or drive to fishing, surfing, or town. Easy for us all to relax in at night and easy to find when the younger ones walked back from town on Saturday night. Would stay again but I suspect a couple more young family members will want to come next time and that would be too many people.

We could not work the TV but it did not worry us as there was plenty to do.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay and were delighted with the well equipped property. The hosts also accomodated our extra guests at short notice, which was a bonus. The weather during our stay was pretty bad, but the facilities more than compensated for this and we could relax indoors, in comfort. We would certainly stay here again next time we visit.

The home was clean, bright and comfortable. Our hosts added thoughtful touches like snacks for our arrival and robes to wear. The location was unbeatable, just steps to the wharf, beach and town. There was lovely outside space for dining and reading.

The location and it was fully equipped.

Spent a couple of nights here on our way to Rotorua. It’s in a lovely, quiet location and the property is spacious, comfortable and very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed and the washing machine was much appreciated. The outside covered area with seating and tables was also great.

The lock on the dining room doors was a bit contrary.

Great Location, all the comforts of home and all the extras provided in the pantry and cupboards was handy also. Comfortable beds for our group of 6. So convenient being right next to the boat ramp and harbour views. Will definitely stay again. Great communication with Lorraine and parking our 5m boat was no problem out front. Thank you

Absolutely loved our stay, spacious, and had everything you need. Highly recommend!

The property had everything you could possibly need. The kitchen and every other room was very well equiped Shampoo, conditioner, dishwasher powder, washing liquid , plastic wrap all there. Very comfortable, immaculately clean and the location where we could see the boats bobbing on the green waters of the river was superb.

There was nothing not to like.

We had a wonderful stay! The location was fantastic—quiet yet close to everything we needed. The space was generous and well-equipped, with everything we could possibly need during our visit. The hosts were friendly and easy to communicate with, and check-in was simple and hassle-free. We’d definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at Anchor Watch! The location is wonderful - so close to the harbour, kids playground and a nice walk into the main street for cafes, shops and beach access. The property has everything you could need while on holidays - the kids toys were very much appreciated, plenty of beach equipment to use and the kitchen is well kitted out too! Rooms were large, comfy beds and the living area and outdoor area very spacious too. My family have been coming to Whangamata for over 50 years & this was our first time staying somewhere other than my families homes, so it was a pleasure to stay somewhere that felt so homely, just like our own! The hosts Lorraine & Tony had great communication and we appreciated their flexibility 😊

A wonderful location, nice and close to the water. The apartment was beautifully furnished, clean and tidy. The beds and bedding were super comfy...and the little chocolates were a lovely touch. 100% recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again.

Huge spacious house with everything you need for a fabulous holiday & a stunning outlook to the water. Kitchen & laundry was really well equipped that makes a stay even better. Close to the Ocean club for meals, beach walks & town. Wished we booked longer.

We love the peace and beauty of the Harbour end of Whangamata, and Anchor watch was the perfect location. We were very comfortable as it felt we were in Tony and Lorraine s home. Everything had been thought of and lots of extras beside. The beds were comfortable. The shower was great, and the whole place was tastefully and comfortably furnished. We would love to return.

TV not working and ranch door was difficult to open and shut. But the hosts tried to solve these issues but unfortunately not before we left.

There should be more information provided on the listing on what is provided at the property, like hair dryer, iron, ironing board etc. Also we just needed more instruction about the rubbish and no rubbish bags provided.

We had an incredible stay at this beautiful house. The moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The house was immaculately clean, tastefully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, close to all the local attractions and amenities. We loved the extra touches, like the welcome basket and fresh towels. We would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation stay. We can't wait to come back and stay here again. 5 stars and well deserved.

lots of room to manuover around as 1 on crutches n 1 on zimerframe lol. modern but personal. lovvvved the setup, used the bbq and outside area too, close to shops, beach n warf highley recomnend Everything was there that you may need. super clean, beautiful linen.

only thing i could recommend is maybe a black towelrail to match bathroom mounted vertically in toilet as loo a wee bit on the low side. nothing major tho.....not a problem at all, just a thought ;)

Strange arrangement for parking where you have to drive across some lawn. The property has good outdoor dining facilities with large table and chairs, bar-b-que etc, but lacks privacy. A fence or screen between Anchor Watch and the neighbours would be good

A separate toilet would have been nice, but no big deal. Also it would have been nice to leave windows open when not there, but thought it best to close/lock them. Maybe it would be good to be able to have them locked and open a bit as well, but again not a big deal.

Lovely place, everything we needed and lovely layout. So close to the water and 10 minutes to walk to the town.Would highly recommend the house and definitely book again .

Lovely property and hosts. Hugely appreciated the abundance of towels available to use, brilliantly equipped kitchen, and the snacks left for us by the host. These are small things that make the world of difference to travellers! Thank you so much! Very comfortable beds and pillows. Excellent location very close to the beach, supermarket and town centre. Would be a great place to stay with a group of people or family.

It’s not a very private space and we felt a little bit like we were in a fish bowl. Sunshade roller blinds over the large living area windows would help. It wasn’t a major though.

Anchor Watch was the perfect place to spend Christmas. It had everything we needed, the kitchen was well stocked and had nice touches like board games and extra towels. The location was perfect and Lorraine was very accommodating with great communication. Would highly recommend Anchor Watch.

I liked everything. Very comfortable stay. The place was very clean and the location was superb.

The location was great; one minute from northern harbour estuary with views overlooking harbour. A short walk to shops and town centre. Accommodation has been tastily refurbished quite recently, was clean and had all the amenities we required.

Really lovely family home feel, great location and so nice to see the ocean. Will be nice and cool in the summer. Has everything you need with lovely bed linen, duvets and towels plus a large open plan kitchen/lounge and flow on outdoor area for summer bbq's. Wonderful accommodating owners with great communication.

Unable to keep windows open at night, as there were no security stays on the windows. There is no air extractor in the kitchen or bathroom.

It had everything anyone would need for a weekend getaway! It was so clean, light and spacious. The owners are very thoughtful and generous with great attention to detail! The location was perfect, with a fabulous park and beach around the corner and the ocean sports club a 5 mins walk, we didn’t need to go far to relax, and town was also walking distance!
