Such a peaceful, beautiful homestay! Couldn’t recommend this place more, the staff are so kind and accomodating, they will go out of their way to help you organise activities and breakfast for you whenever it suits you. The room and bathroom was clean and tidy, the pool was a highlight - very relaxing and over looked plenty of wildlife! Very safe and lots of incredible yummy food just walking distance away! Would definitely come back :)

Obiekt nieziemski, personel bardzo miły i pomocny, ohh i ten basen.. cudo! Za opłatą można zjeść obiad oraz zakupić napoje. Generalnie za tą cenę można poczuć sie jak we własnej rezydencji.

Jedyny minus, aczkolwiek nie z winy lokalu to brak zasięgu w tamtejszych terenach. WiFi przez to różnie czasem działało.

We had a very pleasant stay at Peacock Homestay in Sigiriya. We particularly liked the large and very clean pool, which was a great way to relax after a trip. The accommodation was well equipped overall and offered everything you need for a pleasant stay. A special highlight was the breakfast: it was very versatile and was put together a little differently every day, so there was always something new to discover. The hosts were also very friendly, warm and helpful. We felt very comfortable during our stay and can definitely recommend the Peacock Homestay for a stay in Sigiriya.

On two days, construction work took place next to our room during the morning and was somewhat noisy. However, it was stopped after a short time.

Une famille d’une grande gentillesse, chaleureuse et accueillante qui saura vous donner de très bons conseils pour votre voyage. Ils vous réserve vos activités au besoin. Aussi, les petits déjeuners sont délicieux et copieux. À ne surtout pas louper les dîners qu’ils vous préparent ! Absolument délicieux ! Allez y les yeux fermé, vous serez très bien reçu.

Desde que llegamos nos recibieron muy amablemente y nos enseñaron la habitación. Estuvimos 2 noches en las cuales una de ellas nos prepararon realmente un "banquete" por un precio adicional donde estaba todo riquísimo. La habitación y las instalaciones cumplían de sobra sus expectativas y el desayuno era un 10/10: tanto en cantidad como variedad.

Quizás el camino de acceso, pero no supuso un gran problema

We had a great stay for three nights. Very friendly and helpful staff who were always happy to help. We loved the pool to cool off at the end of the day.

The staff immediately upgraded us to a brand new, freshly renovated room when we advised them of a plumbing issue in our room. The pool was very clean and refreshing.

El sitio está ubicado en el campo, es una casa colonial. Viven dos familias que son el staff y son muy amables, si quieres, parece que convivas con ellos porque hay una niña pequeña (Sandu) que te roba el corazón. Fueron muy atentos y simpáticos. Nos gestionaron los tuk tuks que necesitábamos, los desayunos estaban muy buenos y eran muy grandes, cocinan muy bien y tienes opción de hacer comida o cena allí. Está bien ubicado en Sigiriya y la zona nos encantó porque tiene barecitos encantadores y ambiente, pero es relajante. Un súper plus es la piscina, que está nueva y limpia. Nos encantaría volver!

Solo se puede pagar en efectivo, pero el cajero esta muy cerca.

Lovely homestay with comfortable rooms and very hospitable owners. Breakfast was lovely and varied daily. They have very recently built their own swimming pool where you can have a dip and watch the family of monkeys in the nearby trees. Fab environment. Good restaurants in walking distance.

La piscine et le service des gens sur place

La résidence est très bien tenue et propre, entourée de nature, les hôtes sont accueillants et souriants, les chambres sont très bien, la piscine a le mérite d’être là, elle est propre avec une belle vue sur le lac, le petit déjeuner est copieux et bon, et nous avons dîné sur place le repas était très bien. Idéalement placé pour aller faire le rocher du lion, le mont pirurangala et Dambulla.

Pas grand chose en réalité. Cependant si nous pouvons suggérer de petites améliorations, ce serait au niveau de la connexion wifi (nous l’avons eu un jour sur les deux) et éventuellement du nombre de transats autour de la piscine car un peu limite actuellement (seulement 4) au regard du nombre de touristes présents (en tout cas au moment de notre passage).

La grande superficie et propreté de la chambre, les équipements de la chambre ( frigo, clim nouvellle), la piscine très propre avec vue sur la végétation meme si les abords ne sont pas terminés, les paons. La famille à disposition, qui nous a organisé le safari avec un guide expérimenté à midi et à un prix intéressant .Possible aussi d y manger le soir sur réservation.( resto à 200 m sinon)

The rooms were so clean and comfortable. The pool was also very clean and refreshing. The family were a delight to stay with. Kemal was so incredibly helpful and welcoming. She gave us great advice on activities and booked us drivers when we needed.

Prima kamers. Schoon. Netjes. Heel goed ontbijt. Vriendelijke mensen. We herkennen niet de negatieve feedback van een landgenoot. Prima toeven hier. Vlakbij uitstekende restaurants. Natuur all around. Zwembad bijna klaar, je kunt het grote en fijne zwembad van de buren gebruiken. Apen komen langs om de mango’s uit de bomen te eten.

Er zijn een aantal zaken die aandacht vragen: in de badkamers van onze twee kamers waren wat mankementen aan een lekkende douchekop en een vieze geur uit de afzuiging.

Abundante desayuna, mucha hospitalidad por parte de toda la familia, piscina muy buena en el resort de al lado, aunque están construyendo la suya propia pero no importa andar en 1 min estás allí y es muy grande. Un 10, sin duda recomendable y volvería.

Era tutto perfetto! Padroni di casa super accoglienti e disponibili ad organizzare per noi diversi tour (Lion Rock all’alba e Safari a Minnerya). La colazione ottima e abbondante al punto di farci sentire ancora sazi fino al tardo pomeriggio. Abbiamo cenato una sera in struttura mangiando un ottimo riso e curry rigorosamente preparato dalla proprietaria. Il valore aggiunto: la piscina situata in prossimità del lago da cui poter ammirare tantissimi uccelli e sentire il barrito degli elefanti.

La piscina es una maravilla. El desayuno super completo y muy rico, hicimos dos noches y fue variado. Los anfitriones se encargaron de organizarnos el safari con Jakana y fue un acierto. La habitación con todo lo necesario.

El camino a la piscina deben condicionarlo ya que hay unas maderas mal puestas.

Basic room but exactly what we needed for our three nights in Sigiriya, slightly out of the center which we liked as we got to experience some of the restaurants in Kimbissa. The host family were so so lovely, we could not fault them at all, although some of their English wasn’t amazing they were so welcoming and the breakfasts and dinners were 10/10! We loved their little girl who came up to see us each day :)

Some ants in the bathroom but that’s to be expected when in the middle of the jungle

Nos hôtes ont été très accueillants et flexibles. La famille est toujours disponible pour nous donner les meilleurs conseils et réserver les activités . Ils nous ont sollicité afin que nous puissions voir un éléphant dans la zone de l'hôtel. Le petit-dejeuner et le repas sont très copieux et excellents. La grande piscine a rendu le séjour encore plus agréable. La petite-fille coquine est très mignonne.

Si buscas algo modesto pero funcional es perfecto. La habitación estaba limpia pero el resto de la casa estaba bastante sucia. El personal es muy amable y la piscina es estupenda.

Sometimes hard to communicate when Mamma not around. Walk to next door pool through a hole in the wall via a scruffy track. They’re building their own pool but need to do a lot of landscaping to make it as nice as next door.

Homestay sulla strada principale per raggiungere Lion Rock, ristoranti non lontani dall’accomodation ma sono necessari taxi\ tuktuk per raggiungere la via centrale. La famiglia che ci ha ospitato davvero carina e disponibile, la colazione era deliziosa e abbondante!

We stayed at Sigiriya Peacock and were disappointed by several issues. We were not informed that while we could use the pool of the neighboring hotel, bringing our own alcoholic drinks was not allowed. Additionally, the owner’s child was very poorly behaved, taking our belongings and throwing them into a large water container. In the mornings, the child also threw other guests’ shoes down the stairs. The owner made no effort to set boundaries or manage her child’s behavior. Overall, this significantly affected our experience.

Peacock homestay zit op een mooie rustige plek, maar wel relatief ver van het centrum van Sigiriya. De mensen zijn erg lief, maar veel kunnen geen woord engels. De gastvrouw is de enige die engels praat, ze wil je ook graag helpen.

De foto’s van het zwembad is van het zwembad van de buren. Je mag daar ook zwemmen, dit wisten wij op onze eerste dag niet. Schrik niet van het ‘niet zo nette’ zwembad wat open ligt op eigen terrein, deze is niet in gebruik. Nog een ander puntje is dat de douche niet warm wordt.

The hosts were great, super kind and welcoming! The pool 10/10, we loved it. There was air conditioning in the room, water temperature and pressure in the shower were great. The breakfast was delicious, homemade Sri Lankan food every morning. We went hiking at 5am one day and they gave us Tupperware of fruit to take with us and then gave us breakfast when we came back. The double bed is big, comfortable for 2 people with extra space. The room and bathroom were clean when we arrived.

The Wi-Fi didn't work in our room (we were in the 3 people room upstairs), we noticed overall it only worked if 1 person was connected but it couldn't handle more devices. The bathroom room made a lot of noise to open and close, which was not super comfortable or convenient at night.

Familia encantadora, buena acogida. La habitación tiene todo lo indispensable y la ubicación es muy buena. El desayuno es bastante variado y con cantidad.

Dobrá lokalita, neďaleko Sigiriya. Mila rodina, ktorá sa snažila spríjemniť náš pobyt. Môžete využívať bazén vo vedľajšom zariadení, ktorí je veľmi čistý. Hostiteľka nám poponúkla uvariť večeru ktorá bola mimoriadne chutná a bohatá. Jediné negatívum bolo, že naša izba bola dosť tmavá a v kúpeľni bol zápach po kanáli.

Gorgeous Homestay, staff/family were very accomodating and helpful with organising tuktuk’s to get to where we needed to be. Very comfortable rooms!

Sehr viel!!!!! 1. Das Zimmer zu unserer Ankunft war nicht richtig gereinigt ,die Türen zu Toilette waren kaputt und könnten wir von innen nicht öffnen(somit waren wir zu längerer Zeit innen eingeschlossen) Unter Betten befanden sich noch leere Flaschen von vor Gästen. Bettlaken waren Grau, und wir vermuten voller Wanzen, weil jede Nacht hat, uns ganze Köper gejuckt. 2. Leider waren die Gastgeber sehr unhöflich und zeigten keinerlei Bereitschaft, auf meine individuellen Anfragen oder Anliegen einzugehen der Service ließ stark zu wünschen übrig. Frühstück kam immer mit sehr langen Verspätung, obwohl immer Tag früher ausdrücklich haben wir immer die Uhrzeit genannt, wann wir essen wollen. Vor Ort gibt’s auch ein kleines Mädchen(die Jungs Tochter) die sehr aufdringlich, ist ständig nur am weinen und schreien so, dass man keine Erholung bekommt. 3. diese Unterkunft hat keine eigene Pool, was nicht so schlimm ist, das schlimme, aber da dran ist der Weg dorthin , Fürth durch dreckigen Hinterhof, wo ein Loch in Mauer ist und denn geht man über Bretter und Höhen Gras,wo der wunderschöne Poz sich befindet und eine wunderschöne Landschaft. Leider auch meist sehr laut durch die eigene Kinder, die sich dort aufhalten in dem Pool.

La niña pequeña de la casa es un demonio, siempre nos la estaba intentando liar, cuando llegamos nos tiro el agua de la botella en los zapatos.

The swimming pool and the staff was quite nice

The staff offered us a laundry service and they charge us 11kg. We cleaned two more time our clothes and it is only 4-6kg. We felt cheated.

Dopo tre giorni era come essere a casa, camera, bagno, doccia, colazione, cena e piscina veramente ottimi, ci tornerei oggi stesso! Se siete fortunati potete sentire i barriti degli elefanti mentre nuotare in piscina! Ci hanno aiutato a organizzare le escursioni, ci hanno aiutato lavandoci qualche vestito, tutto davvero perfetto! Gentilezza tipica dello Sri Lanka!

Fijne rustige plek, heel fijn zwembad (weleenswaar bij de buren), heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Het ontbijt was ook erg goed!

Niets gedurende ons verblijf.

Ze zijn aan het werken aan een eigen zwembad, maar je mag het heel mooi zwembad in het groen gebruiken van de buren en zeer vriendelijke uitbaatster. Ligt niet in Sigiray, maar je hebt op wandelafstand dezelfde gezelligheid met veel mooie restaurants

Heel lief gezin die je met alles willen helpen. Ontbijt was lekker en de locatie ook top.

Estaban haciendo otra piscina y había obras, pero cuidaban muy bien la parte de los huéspedes.

Die Familie ist super lieb und wir wurden ganz herzlich empfangen! Wir hatten einen ganz tollen und entspannten Aufenthalt. Fünf Gehminuten entfernt sind einige Restaurants. Wir empfehlen das Abendessen in der Unterkunft, das war unfassbar lecker. Auch das Frühstück war sehr umfangreich und gut! Auch die Poolanlage ist super zum entspannen. Ebenso wurde für uns eine Safari organisiert, welche ebenfalls sehr zu empfehlen ist.

Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis ist unschlagbar. Die Zimmer war sauber, die Dusche top & das Frühstück traditionell lecker. Man konnte den Pool der Unterkunft nebenan nutzen, dieser ist wirklich traumhaft. Das Hotel ist ruhig gelegen aber trotzdem nah an allem.

Family was fantastic and very helpful, the food was amazing, we got breakfast in early morning before safari. The pool was amazing, however it was on another property.

The pictures are different than reality.

We had hired a tuk tuk for a week so location was never an issue but it was nice and quiet just off the road and well within walking distance of shops and restruants. The family who run the place are fantastic and the wife is an amazing cook. Breakfasts were huge and delicious. In the process of building their own pool but can use next doors which is great as it gets very hot. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Das Zimmer war ausreichend, wurde aber nie gereinigt. Gute Lage. Preise für Dienstleistungen immer vorher fragen. Manches war aus unserer Sicht unverschämt teurer. Frühstück war sehr gut. Es konnte alles vor Ort organisiert werden ( Ausflüge, Tuck Tucks, Taxi,…)

Das Pool war am Nebengrundstück aber sehr ansprechend und sauber. Die Inhaber sehr bemüht aber die Kommunikation war nicht so einfach.

Vriendelijke lieve mensen, prachtig zwembad. Ze zijn hard aan het werk om er een paradijs van te maken. Het is nog niet helemaal af maar voor de gast ontbreekt het aan niets. De kamer was ruim met eigen terras, bedden waren goed. Top verblijf!

Very Clean and excellent hospitality by the family over there

The family was very nice and she cooked an amazing dinner. The room was clean and the bed were super comfortable.

Friendly owners who made us delicious breakfasts (slightly different each day which was lovely!) and Sri Lankan curry for dinner one night. Bedroom big and good air con. Owners don’t speak much English but we’re still so helpful at organising Tuktuks and onward transfer for us. Thank you!!

TV wasn't connected at all, We had to ask to fix hot water as there was no hot water. No tea/coffee in room just the kettle. They provided tea when we requested.

Loved staying here for two nights. Good location, very clean and comfortable room. Pool was so nice and peaceful, lovely family hosts, good breakfasts. Our favourite was our dinners we had both nights which were truly superb!

Very lovely home stay! We stayed in the spacious family room which had a nice terrace in front and also used the refreshing shared pool „next door“. The owners were more than nice and welcoming, preparing tasty basic food for dinner and breakfast and helped with every question / request. A clear recommendation.

The hosts were super caring and helpful. The food was delicious, we got a big offer on different srilankan food. The pool was amazing and perfect to relax after our travel and sightseeing.

Our AC was very loud and turned on automatically. I guess our hosts would have helped us if we would have told them, but we stayed only one night :)

We loved Kumari and her gorgeous family! She was so helpful for any requests, made great breakfasts (and dinner is amazing if you ask in advance), and the pool was lovely.

Nothing! You need a Tuktuk to get anywhere but that’s the same anywhere in Sigiriya and Kumari was so helpful organising them for us.
