Pranaya Villa

The villa looks very nice, modern and is very big. There is a big kitchen, with a fridge, two bedrooms with a double bed. Only the master bedroom has Airconditioning, the rest of the villa doesn’t. Its nice to sit outside on the bean bags, especially when monkeys on the roof wake you up in the morning.

The shower has no water power at all, it’s just a few drops. So its hard to shower or wash your hair. Especially if you want to have a hot shower. I asked about this to the owner, but she said that it’s normal. So there wasn’t a solution. The location is very far away on a hill on a dead end road. Pick me drivers don’t know the way or decline you every time. The owners gave us a number for a tuk tuk driver where they work with, but he asks double the price of a pick me driver. We also had a big cockroach in the bathroom.

A lovely villa only recently opened to short stay visits. The owners, Dee from the UK and her husband, Pasinda from Hiriketiya, could not have been more welcoming. They also own a cafe nearby where we bought a delicious pancake breakfast. Good coffee, too. Our large double room was extremely comfortable with air-conditioning. There is a large kitchen area well kitted out, although we did not use it and a sitting area both indoors as well as on the verandah outside. It is in a quiet area away from the bustle of town. It is about a 12 minute walk to the beach.

The smaller double room did not have air-con, and our son found it very warm despite the ceiling fan.

We picked this property because other reviewers had described it as peaceful and clean, with lovely owners. I’m happy to say they were totally right and we were very happy to have stayed!! Perfect. Don’t hesitate to book! Ps Pranaya Cafe was fabulous too!

Idyllic. It's just far enough away to be super quiet, yet close enough to everything to be easy. the hosts helped us rent a bike and it was just waiting there for us which was awesome. it's very stylish honestly. they had a ton of local recs for us which is nice and own a cute cafe and boutique down the road too. they were helpful and communicative throughout. would definitely stay again.

The wifi was struggling when we were there, which was inconvenient as I had a lot of work to do. The people before us did not have the same problem though. Other than that it was really truly great.

We stayed here for a week just the two of us, so it was so spacious and we had everything we needed in the villa. The villa is really clean and nicely decorated and we really felt at home. Dee & Pasindu were the MOST amazing hosts, literally going above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. They organised our scooter for the week, and when I mentioned my skirt broke at the local laundry they even got their aunty to fix it for me which was so kind. They also have an amazing restaurant called Pranaya in town where we had one of our favourite meals of the week! We had unseasonably bad weather while here so we were glad we had more space and the outdoor sofas to chill on rather than just booking a solo room. Would return in a heartbeat!

The WiFi could have been stronger, we did struggle a bit while working there sometimes but that could have been down to the weather.

Dee & Pasi were such helpful and caring hosts. The house is clean and has everything you need. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of this place. Perfect space if you're traveling with family or friends.
