Beds very uncomfortable

Beautiful house within walking distance to all local amenities. There were 7 of us staying here and it never felt crowded. Enough room for everyone. Kitchen had all the appliances you'd need for a stay away from home.

The house was beautiful and spotless. Great location would defo stay here again. The kids abs loved the stay.

The mattress on the bed in the top double en suite room is long past replacing, it’s not too bad in the middle but the side at the loo is completely gone strength wise. Dust everywhere - tv, cooker hood. The hob needs a good cleaning as does the oven door. We got a takeaway. The windows could do with a good cleaning too. The loo seat in the downstairs loo needs sorted, nearly slid off it, same with the bathroom one. The en-suite one was fine. All cushions are cheap, the covers are almost empty, the apartment is advertised as ‘luxury’ but proper luxurious cushions and some nice lamps for ambiance would really help that vibe. We were celebrating a birthday and liked the idea of a seaside location so it did the job but our expectation was higher when ‘luxury’ was mentioned.

Fantastic location, right in the heart of Newcastle.. beach, mountains, bar and Lidl all right round the corner..

No front door key this time,had one last time we stayed, would have cut out the dander for my elderly in law's.

Location was fantastic. Good size living/kitchen area. Having 3 toilets and 2 showers was great

The bed in the main bedroom was extremely uncomfortable. Only 2 bowls in the kitchen (there were 6 of us staying including 3 children who eat cereal for breakfast).

Perfect location, lots of space and everything you could need for a stay!

Several towels in the bathrooms were stained with what looked like fake tan, the middle floor bathroom sink was blocked by thick black stuff that my boyfriend had to clean out and there were cigarette butt's and fake nails found both in the house and on the little balcony area so these definitely weren't cleaned properly

Lot of traffic noise from busy main road at front of house, Kitchen not the cleanest in particular oven and grill trays. Not enough cutlery for 6 people (although host did deliver some extra on day 3 of our stay) Carpets in need of deep clean on stairs, landing and living room.

It was far bigger than I would thought it would be, so much space and freedom, It was close to literally anything we needed, shopping for food, amusements, beach, etc and when we were leaving we all agreed that we needed to do this again.

My only complaints are the fact there was no key for the front door and the sink that’s on the second floor takes a long time to drain often overflowing.

The only issue I would note is the road sounds, quite noisy and fast traffic. This did not dampen our enjoyment at Hillyard though.

Great location; clean and well equipped for self catering and for our stay. Secure, safe off street parking, easy walking distance to the town facilities.

Minor only; tv screen available and facility for using Netflix, but no TV channels otherwise available (we don’t have Netflix). Beds not v comfortable but I realise that can be subjective.

This is a lovely house in walking distance to everywhere.

A lovely area just off the Main Street, good parking and a lovely spacious living/ dining room.

Some small tweaks- there wasn’t enough cutlery to cater for our party of 6. The glasses weren’t properly washed and there was no toiletries in the bathrooms.

Great location. Big place. With was clean, but had many issues.

1 room stunk of sewage and we couldn't use it until day 3. Our mattress was like sleeping on springs. Toilet seats are broke. Hand rail come off hanging a towel and countless other small issues.

All bedrooms on separate floors too far away fromneachother if u have younger kids, didn't like the layout at all, no Garden or outdoor space, Bed uncomfortable, noisy to road, House shook everything car passed, no blinds on some windows didn't sleep well, Wasn't the cleanest also rundown in places. Being and sheets and towels felt clean, Floors chairs bathroom etc. Could have been cleaner and place needed a bit of touching up. Also felt a bit creepy and lights kept going on and off as well as all the separate floors.

Close to the town centre

Only thing I think could be changed is a blind for the door window in the bottom bedroom , it was very bright .

Absolutely gorgeous house with lots of space . Me and the kids loved cut and already booked to come back with my sister next month

Great location, close to beach, mourne walks, pubs and shops. Clean and comfortable beds and good facilities. Private parking at rear.

Only access to back door (no front door key) in No.1. Damage to inside of freezer door. Upstairs ensuite shower drain clogged and lino a bit ripped around toilet. Bits of the carpet in the sitting room and outside sitting room door looked grubby (could do with a shampoo). Property just needs a little bit of maintenance to get my top rating.

Excellent location for the house & very spacious. The house was clean and easily accessed. Free parking space to the rear of the house, which isn’t always a feature in Newcastle. A stones throw from the promenade and all shops, bars and amenities.

As many have commented previously, the noise from the road outside is very loud, especially with windows open to let in air during the summer. However our two year old was unaffected and slept really well during our trip. The beds were especially soft, this suits some people but personally we found them a bit uncomfortable. The couch in the living room is also very soft and hard to get out of!

A couple of small issues would simply make it better. Toilet seat in main bathroom difficult to sit on as kept moving and we could not tighten to fix properly. One room closer to pipes and some pipe knocking when water running. Probably just a small air lock

Location was outstanding and right by the beach and on the doorstop of Donard Car Park which led to the path for our Mourne Mountains walking. Definitely the right side of town. The property was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Ideal location also for walking up to Tullymore Forest and the walk along to Murlough Beach and Dundrum was breathtaking (in more ways than one)

A couple of icks in the property but nothing major. Could do with more hangers in the wardrobes and not the handful of mismatch ones. The oven definitely needs a good clean, we couldn't use it. Some of the towels didn't appear to be clean.

The bedrooms were large. We we spoke to the hotel manager he was great, gave us some basic items that were missing - kitchen knives and tea-towels and kindly offered us tea and cakes. My advice - stay at the hotel and give the Mews a miss.

The listing is inaccurate - there are 2 bathrooms and a downstairs W.C. not 3 bathrooms. The inner courtyard view is the car park, and luxury actually means held together with gaffer tape - the dormer window blind and holding the Lino down.

Comfy house

House shook when large vehicles passed by. A teabag or two & some UHT milk would have been welcome, but there was no welcoming pack at all. No kitchen roll. No hangers. Loose toilet seat. Front & back doors completely seized up, despite the keys being provided.

The property was brilliant, it was very clean & spacious.

There should have been some milk for tea/coffee.

The property itself was excellent and in a great location

One health and safety issue I had my 78 year old dad with us and I shared the twin room on the ground floor with him the bed on the left I cut my left leg on it as the two end pieces are similar to square box and this can be quite dangerous for other guests using this bed

Plenty of space and separation for family. The location was close to sea front Cafes and amusements me and the entrance to the forest park.We would definitely stay again.

Fantastic location, just off the end of the promenade, just behind the bars and restaurants. Off street parking, 2 spaces per house. All large bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Will be back for a longer stay.

Its a 3 story house so may not suit accessibility

Nous étions 8. Comme souvent, espace de vie trop petit pour ce nombre. On était bien serrés aussi à table. Mais le pire était au niveau des ustensiles de cuisine : que 3 petites cuillères (oui vous avez bien lu, 3 pour 8), un nombre très limité d'assiettes, verres, tasses, mugs, couverts. Pas de carafe pour l'eau. Obligé de faire un lave-vaisselle après chaque repas

Very noisy as in main road, the bed shakes when buses & lorrys go past, so don’t expect any sleep. The 2 double beds in the 2 rooms at top of the house have extremely uncomfortable mattresses. Downstairs bed comfortable. Shower in ensuite not clean, black mould and dirt in shower and skirten board. Toilet seat broken. Lino in kitchen has 2 large holes in it. Carpet needs cleaned on stairs

Cleanliness was just okay throughout the property. Was very disappointing to discover late at night after a great day that the sofa bed we were planning on using only had dirty bed linen supplied. This was found under the sofa bed but unfortunately there was only one dirty bed sheet with a stained duvet and pillows with no pillow cases or duvet cover to be found. There was also no spare bedding in the cupboard under the stairs as described on the property’s information page either. This meant we didn’t have a bed for 2 people and therefore had to squeeze multiple people into the same bed. Disappointing as it was actually my second time staying at this property.

Disappointed that there weren't any toiletries in bathrooms in comparison to other places we have stayed. Cleanliness could definitely be improved, there was a dead insect in main bedroom, stain on the bed sheet and popcorn on floor in living area.

Location and functionality of the house for family to stay. Rooms were a great size.

We were so looking forward to spending time time with our family and saw these 'luxury homes' and thought they would be perfect. But sadly, it was filthy. Thick dust and grease. Carpet was dirty. Wiped the dirt off the top of the bathroom mirror and it was absolutely disgusting. Empty hand-wash bottles left in holders. No dish towel, sponge left to clean a dish had to be binned. Blinds/walls/skirting and doors were filthy. Don't think they've ever been cleaned. Husband sneezed the whole week due to the dust. Microwave had to be cleaned inside before we could use it. Pot had to be scrubbed before we could use it. Beds were also very uncomfortable. Sloped on each side, need replaced. Door bell didn't work. Such a shame really.

Perfect location, clean tidy all amenities needed we would definitely return to these properties, spacious and very accommodating.

Perfect Location, right on the Main Street close to the amusements, beach & local pubs. Next to Lidl too which was handy. The folks were very attentive and arranged an early check in for us which we really appreciated. Great communication throughout. Accommodation was spot on and great value for money.

Only complaint I have unfortunately was the internet was very poor & essentially non existent kept asking us to pay a bill to login so don’t know if this is the usual or just over the period we stayed but with 3 kids it wasn’t ideal having no internet. Phone 3/4G not great at the foot of the mountains. Other than this though everything else was perfect.

The location of the property was great.

The property could have been cleaner. It’s getting a little tired, the carpets are quite dirty. There’s not enough glasses or cups in the kitchen and they are all mismatch.

The property needs a proper clean. Seemed as though it had a quick hoover around furniture. Bathrooms not at all clean. Even the windows and doors throughout property were filthy. Needs decorated throughout. Unable to use front door, lock seemed to be corroded. Kitchen tap came off while using it, thankfully was able to fix myself. Property was warm and hot water which was good.
