Le lieu en lui même est très agréable. Les chambres avec leur terrasse, la piscine, l’espace où l’on petit déjeune et dîne… on s’y sent vraiment bien. Le personnel est très gentil.

Beautiful, lush and peaceful place in a quiet village (apart from the chickens 😆), close to rice fields. The service was fantastic. The rooms generous and very clean. We loved the swimming pool and the bath tub 😍 and receiving fresh towels etc without asking. The breakfast was tasty and the roads nice and quiet to explore with a scooter. Great if you want to get away from the crowds.

The staff is made up of wonderful and welcoming people who are always ready to help with any need or request. The food is absolutely delicious, and the surrounding area offers many beautiful waterfalls and temples to explore

The entire atmosphere there is amazing. The view from the pool is superbe, the food is really good, aso lots of vegetarian options. I also had a balinese massage in their little spa. It was great. I was walking lot in the villages, the rice fields, to the waterfall. I really fell in love with this village, its nature and its people.

No es que no me gustara, pero hay que tener en cuenta que, al estar en medio de la selva, los animalitos pueden entrar y algún susto te llevas, pero nada que no se pueda solucionar.

The host is super wonderful, They help in every way you need it. You just need to communicate with them. The property is heaven for people who like peaceful village life. I truly recommended Boreh treatment (beauty treatment), my skin is literally smell so good and glowing after the treatment. There is also rice field and tirta empul nearby the property

Perfect place if you wanna get out of the crowds and live in a typical Balinese family house. The rooms are located at the end of it, next to a swimming pool with views to the jungle. The family is extremely nice and attentive. We even did a cooking class with them. While it's a well hidden place in a small local village, it has access to some small rice terraces and a waterfall, with no people. I also recommend going to the rice terraces on the west, very local. It's also very close to Tirta Empul and other more touristic places. Great genuine experience!!

Accueil de notre hôte (descendant d’une famille princière) avec une extrême gentillesse. La famille a été aux petits soins. Le cadre exceptionnel jouxtant le temple familial orné de dorures. Piscine avec vue sur la végétation, massage très efficace, repas très bons, lavage des vêtements, le tout dans un calme campagnard. A proximité des 3 temples connus. Nous avons pu louer un scooter directement. C’est la plus belle expérience de nos vacances. Nous y sommes restés 5 jours tellement c’était extraordinaire.

The rooms are located in the backyard of the families house temple, very beautiful with trees and flowers around. We enjoyed the private terrace that every room has, had our meals there and chilled most of the time there. Also the swimming pool is super nice with a stunning view into the forest! For its location there weren’t lots of moscitos. Room was clean, big and you could close window and door to protect from the little insects around:) The best part for sure is the friendly staff. They were so ambitious and engaged to make our stay comfortable. During our stay there was a big Ceremony one day with family and friends of the host. They let us participate, we even got the traditional clothes and could try all the Balinese food. This was such an amazing experience and we got to know the authentic balinese life. Thank you for that!

Великолепное и очень атмосферное место! Мы приехали на 1 ночь , чтобы на следующий день отправиться в одну из лучших достопримечательностей Убуда храм Pura Tirta Empul! Прекрасная семья организовала у себя небольшой отель , это 5-6 отдельных комнат-домиков ! Все очень чистенько, завтраки отличные ! Единственное, от чего мы были немного удивлены, это то , что туалет и душ находятся под открытым небом 🫣 У каждого в домике есть дверка в ванную (туалет ) ты выходишь и попадаешь как-бы в продолжение номера , но без крыши! В остальном прекрасное место ! Очень атмосферно! Семья пригласила нас на церемонию, которая проходила в храме неподалеку ! Собрали нас , дали национальную одежду! Было очень приятно и интересно! Впечатления от места остались очень положительные!

Все было замечательно, только удивила ванная комната 🫣

I had a great stay at Tenka’s House — it truly feels like home. You can either relax and take it slow, or head out to explore the beautiful rice fields nearby. The family is warm and welcoming, always happy to offer helpful recommendations if you need anything. There’s also a swimming pool where you can unwind in the middle of the jungle, plus massages and food available on site, which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for a peaceful escape, far from the busyness, I highly recommend staying here. Try it — you won’t regret it.

The room was cosy and peaceful. The family were friendly and the fresh home cooked meals were really enjoyable. The WiFi speed was good and we could easily access the ride paddies. There was a coffee plantation up the road which we hadn’t realised and our Grab driver took us there which was good, Suka Agrotourism.

Beautiful pool and gardens. Very comfortable bed and room. Wonderful family who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. Food was awesome. Location great. Very quiet at night. Fantastic to stay in a family homestay with a very cool pool. Amazing value for money. I prefer to stay somewhere authentic (and so comfortable) than in a resort. Very near Mancingan rice terrace, Gunung Kawi and Tirta Empul. We spent here Nyepi (Balinese new year) and the owner cooked delicious meals for us. Really lovely people and stay.

Love that this property is locally owned by a beautiful family. Tucked away in a quiet neighborhood with lush scenery all around at a very affordable price. I will miss my favorite breakfast, Nasi Goreng, cooked by Wayan every morning. Thanks also to Ketut, Nyoman, and their lovely parents and rest of family. Suksma 🙏🏾 for hosting and feeding me and my local friend from Tampaksiring, Rai. 😆

A beautiful house with a pool and a lovely garden. On top, the owners are so welcoming. Can arrange tours, activities or a scooter for an objectively great price. Even better, there are temples, rice fields and even a waterfall within walking distance. And finally, you can refill your water bottle in the kitchen for free. Besides the included breakfast, you can get wonderful home cooked lunches/dinners at the place.

Tha Tangkas family was very welcoming and open hearted, we loved staying with them and get to know more about Balinese culture. We loved walking to the secret waterfall just behind the pool. The garden is beautiful and the staff were amazing! We’ve been very honored to have the opportunity to join the neighbors ceremony and we’ve been lucky to see Nyoman’s incredible dance performance! The family gave us sarong and proper Balinese clothes to be able to take part of the ceremony. Truly unforgettable! THANK YOU!

Beautiful homestay with very kind and welcoming hosts in a quiet area with easy access to rice terraces and a waterfall. Perfect for escaping the crowds for a few days.

Breakfast was excellent. It was close the the place I wanted to visit.

The area is super authentic. The garden and pool is nice and there’s nothing around. Close to climb mount batur and see rice fields and temples.

Good luck finding it because there’s no door. It’s a hole. They’re currently building too. Unfriendly dogs on the main road and with the lack of door felt unsafe. There is no reception. If you need someone you’ll need to wake them up (even in the day) from their bedroom at the front. You are staying in their back garden. Food was really bad and overpriced. Trying to organise anything was a nightmare because of the language barrier. We asked for clean sheets because they were dirty and they said yes but nothing happened so they clearly didn’t understand. Funnily enough the only time they did respond was when I left a negative review so…Super unclean and uncomfortable. We were eaten alive too as no mosquito nets and holes in the doors/floors. No hot water. The family are nice when you can find them. Just not very helpful or accommodating. Not worth the money. this was more expensive out of our stays in Indonesia and we were disappointed at the lack of hygiene. Bambootel next door was lovely. we went for dinner and wish we stayed there.

the homestay is located in a tiny village, really quiet ! the Tangkas is an amazing familly, we shared drinks and long talks about Balinese culture, language. we learned a lot and really appreciate the time the family spent with us. very open-minded and caring people. we will be back again for sure!! calm, clean, it was perfect for our 3 first nights in bali. good choice if you are looking to avoid the crowed places and Ubud hotels. food was really good, they can offer massage too in extra ($20aus) suksuma 🫶

Tangkas House was a great experience that I recommend for anyone who wants to have an authentic experience of staying with a local family. The property is beautiful and very calm, the family house is best described as a beautiful temple and the backyard is a view to the lush jungle with a pool. The whole family were very friendly, and offered a tasty menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. And also they have a motorcycle for rent that was super convenient to explore the surrounding area. All very reasonably priced. If I could go back in time, I would have skipped going to Ubud and just spend more time at Tangkas House. Plenty of temples, rice teraces, waterfalls, and local villages to explore that can keep you entertained for a week. Thank you Tangkas House owners for such a pleasant experience with them! 😄

The Tangkas family is extremely welcoming and friendly, I felt like I was part of their family by the end of my stay! Nyoman was also very quick and graceful to respond to feedback. Their property is ever so beautiful—there's a waterfall to hike to in their backyard! The meals I had were satisfying and generous. The location Tampaksiring was perfect—a quiet mountain village with the friendliest people. I was able to quickly and easily reach Pura Gunung Kawi, Pura Tirta Empul, the Tegalalang rice field and Penglipuran village. But I was equally content to spend lots of time by the pool surrounded by the lush nature at Tangkas House.

This place was very nice. The garden was big and full of green. It was refreshing and relaxing for me. The owners were kind and nice people. They were very helpful and friendly. It was in a walking distance to Tirta Empul Temple. I loved it.

We loved the place and the family, they were so smiling and accommodating. The rooms are in the large garden which has a newly made pool at the end looking out over the coco and banana plantation. There are always fresh coco available. You need a scooter to move around through the astonishing surroundings with many temples and rice fields. Tirta Empul is next to the Homestay same as Pura Mengeling where we had been before for a purification. If available choose room 5 which is a separate cabin.

Cleaning needs to improve in the bathroom and in the common dining area.

Very big room, well clean a little outside the road so very quiet. Very good ambiance and very wonderful staff !

This was a lovely place in a beautiful setting. If you want to experience the real Bali, this is it! Lovely family who were so warm and friendly to us throughout our stay. The food was also amazing and great value, also hiring scooters was very fast and easy :D

Everything was great!

It’s a peace place which I liked much, this hotel runs byfamily business and they are very kind people, love them and thankful for a stay! Also what was easy and good for me that they also rent motorbike so no needed to search somewhere far to rent it.

True Bali house like the one seen in Eat Pray Love, staffs cook very well, walking distance from the main temple Tirta Empul and to Mancingan rice terrace.

This is a lovely homestay. You are treated like family and it is amazing. Don't hesitate to come stay with the Tangkas Family. We received such a warm greeting. There are temples and many other cultural activities. Consider renting a scooter to easily get around.

Just know you're out in a small town. As far as the homestay, it's a lovely place to stay and they offer Bali activities for you to enjoy. Like an all in one package.

Love is there, in the people, the family and the property. It’s a great place to relax, expand, receive and just be.

Everyone at Tangkas House was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming like you are part of their family. I felt comfortable right away. Water, tea, coffee, and breakfast were included. The bed was so comfortable, one of the first nights i got a restful sleep.Tutik took me to 2 of her friends' houses. I got to see the artists who made wooden jewelry and also the artist who made bone carvings and met his family as well. I bought pieces from each of them as it was extra special seeing them in the process. The young girls took me for a walk out the back of the property thru rice fields to the river and a beautiful waterfall. The family of 4 drove me into Ubud to my next location and carried my heavy bag for me. Staying there has truly filled my heart with warmth and happiness and just a sense of serene tranquility. I was sad when it was time to move on. I have already recommended this place to people who will be arriving in 3 weeks. I will 100% stay there again.

The only thing I was a little sad about is they were building a beautiful pool, so I didn't get the opportunity to use it.

Location was amazing, we were in a very clean and confy bungalow inside family's house garden. Family was super kind and professional. They rent us a scooter, call for a taxi and prepare every day different dinner and breakfast. I highly recommend it, of course you must like countryside life because you will wake up by roosters.

Basically nothing, but if I have to give a little suggestion for improvement, they could add a shelf beside the basin to put beauty case and scooter helmet were a bit old. But these are really small details.

If you want to stay in this area, you definitely need to go there. Tangkas house is the best guesthouse I ever been. The couple who own the house is so kind. Tutik will give you a warm welcome and some great advises about the places to go from tangkas. She's also a great cooker, you definitely need to eat the local food and the dishes they prepare for them. The location is perfect, 15m by walk in a beautiful area to the main spots, like the tirta empul temple, Pura mengening, gunung kawi tampakrising, the timing rice terrace and a coffee plantation. Go on these spots in the morning, their cute dog Koya will guide you! Also close to some others good location by bike. You also need to speak to her husband Nyoman, a dancer and very interesting person, please take the time to know them they are so kind and friendly. The house is magnificent, an experience in itself. Take a stroll in the garden, observe the plants and animals (cows, carp, birds, chickens...). The rooms, at a very good price, are very large and comfortable, and I spent an excellent night in a large bed lulled by the sounds of nature. A few gifts await you on arrival. I've never experienced such a warm welcome, in such a beautiful and comfortable place. You must stay at Tangkas House, and I'll be back as soon as I can. Thank you Tutik and Nyoman!

Nothing, everything is perfect. And even if you get a small problem, go directly ask them. Like sometimes hot water may not be available, so ask and it's instantly sorted. There is nothing wrong with the service and quality of this place.
