The room was not really comfortable with a very slim mattress where you can feel the slates (I’m 65kg). The room was not clean. We could see many beard hairs around the sink. They ask you to pay only in cash but they don’t have any change.

Only booked for one day but I liked it so much that I extended it for two more days. It is a very peaceful place with beautiful rooms, beautiful views and a very beautiful coastal villa. The owner here told me something. He said that many people book here and give bad reviews. It is true and I also looked at that section. Some people said that some people were angry and some people wrote bad reviews, but it is not true! Der Strand war in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Hotelpersonal war außerdem freundlich und die Stornierung der Unterkunft verlief unkompliziert.

Bei unserer Anreise wurde uns zunächst ein deutlich kleineres Zimmer als das gebuchte gegeben. Statt des auf Booking.com abgebildeten Deluxe Doppelzimmers bekamen wir ein lieblos eingerichtetes Einzelzimmer mit einem sehr kleinen Bett(1,20m für 2 Personen). Das Zimmer entsprach damit weder der gebuchten Kategorie noch den Erwartungen, die durch die Bilder auf Booking.com vermittelt wurden. Uns wurde zwar mitgeteilt, dass wir am nächsten Tag in das gebuchte Zimmer umziehen könnten. Wir entschieden uns jedoch letztlich für eine Stornierung, da sich zusätzlich ein tropischer Riesenläufer im Zimmer befand, der anschließend mit viel Insektenspray getötet wurde. Unter diesen Umständen wollten wir dort nicht weiter übernachten. Auch die Preise für das Frühstück empfanden wir als völlig überzogen. 3,25 USD für ein Glas Saft oder 3 USD für vier Coconut Roti stehen für uns in keinem angemessenen Verhältnis zu den Preisen außerhalb der Unterkunft.

Das Zimmer war sauber und auf den ersten Blick völlig in Ordnung. Abgesehen vom Geruch im Badezimmer und der unbequemen Matratze

Auch die Umgebung war für uns persönlich sehr enttäuschend und insgesamt ziemlich langweilig, weshalb wir den Aufenthalt sogar vorzeitig beendet haben. Wir würden daher empfehlen, sich vor der Buchung genau zu überlegen, ob man sich dort wirklich wohlfühlen wird. Leider hat der gesamte Aufenthalt bei uns einen eher negativen Eindruck hinterlassen, weil der Gastgeber uns ohne grund einen tag mehr berechnet hat. Und das Geld einfach einbehalten hat indem er uns immer wieder mit ausreden vertröstet hat

Tuve una experiencia increíble en Coastal Villa! Llegué inicialmente para dos días y terminé quedándome seis, poco a poco conociendo más a la familia formada por Karuna, Joel, Daniel y Christy, además de otros familiares que fueron apareciendo durante mi estancia. Todos súper agradables y cercanos una vez tienes la oportunidad de conocerlos un poco más En especial Daniel, que me enseñaba palabras en tamil, y Karuna, que no paraba de traerme dulces durante mi estancia. Mil gracias por todos esos detalles. Y a Joel por las risas Durante mi estancia estuve en una habitación sencilla (la antigua habitación de Joel) pero super acogedora, con una cama muy cómoda, aire acondicionado y un escritorio con silla giratoria, perfecto para enchufarme con el ordenador. El baño, aunque funcional, es el típico baño de Sri Lanka sin cortina ni mampara Además, hay una pequeña tiendecita a apenas 20 metros de la entrada, por lo que cualquier cosa adicional que puedas necesitar la puedes conseguir fácilmente Si quieres playas, Kallady está a unos pocos pasos, con opciones de restauración así como otros atractivos a pocos minutos en transporte. Todo ello además en un barrio muy local, tranquilo y hospitalario En conclusión, una homestay con un toque muy bonito y limpia donde he me he sentido como en casa Mil gracias a toda la familia, Karuna, Joel, Daniel y Christy, por la hospitalidad Ojalá podamos volver a coincidir!

Das Personal bei uns der 15 jährige Junge der Vermieter sind freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Der Strand ist Fussläufig 5 min. entfernt, lädt aber absolut nicht zum verweilen ein. Das Zimmer war sauber.

Die Unterkunft hat Ihre besten Jahre schon lange hinter sich, die Ausstattung ist runtergerockt die Zimmer sind lieblos eingerichtet und bei weitem nicht so wie auf den angepriesenen Bilder bei booking.com. Das Frühstück und auch die Getränke sind völlig überteuert, wir zahlten für ein Glas O-Saft 3 Dollar das Frühstück muss am Vorabend bestellt werden. War leider nicht nach unseren Geschmack. trockener Toast mit Majo und Ei- na ja wer’s mag…. Die Stadt selber gibt nicht viel her, wir konnten nur sehr schwer ein Restaurant zum Abendessen finden und sind daher nach 1 Tag frühzeitig abgereist. Für 1 Übernachtung als evtl. Zwischenstop ok.

Unser Bad entsprach nicht den Fotos (zudem extrem schmutziger Spiegel), Super dünne Matratze, zu kurzes Bett mit 1,80 Metern Länge, v Verrauchtes Zimmer, da der Nachbar leider gekokelt hat (ist wohl typisch in Sri Lanka, jedoch schrecklich, wenn man sein Schlafzimmer direkt daneben hat und auch die Mitarbeiter nichts tun können) Kein WLAN im Zimmer.

Die Familie der die Zimmer gehören, Wohnen ebenfalls dort und sahsen den ganzen Abend und Morgen auf dem Sofa vor unserem Zimmer. Dadurch hat man sich irgendwie beobachtet gefühlt. Teilweise war es dadurch auch laut.

Всё было средненько. Номер маленький, кровать удобная, постельное белье дешевое, на лампе, полках был слои пыли, как-будто эту комнату давно не сдавали. Есть окно в задний сад, но оно закрыто и по сути ты чувствуешь себя замурованным без притока свежего воздуха. Я купился на широкоформатные фотки - которые увеличивают помещение. В душевой/туалете слив сделан в форме вертикальной дырке в помосте, что мешает воде полностью уходить и она накапливается на полу.

Excellent Homestay. The room was very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained with a good air-conditioner, which made the stay very relaxing. I had a peaceful sleep in the calm and quiet atmosphere. The homestay is only about 300 meters from the beautiful beach, making it easy to enjoy the sea and evening walks. The hospitality was warm and friendly, and everything was arranged perfectly for a comfortable stay. Everything was okay...

Costal villa is a nice and cosy place close to the beach and not far from Baticaloa fort. Hosts woke us up in the early morning, so we could catch the proper bus! The bathroom was cosy and spacious.

We did not like the air conditioning (AC) because of an additional chemical smell (or maybe it was a special scent), but for sensitive people or those with allergies, this smell was unbearable, so we switched it off and did not use it. Fortunately, there was a small barred window that we could open, and happily no mosquitoes came in. Although our room on the ground floor was spacious, because of the small barred window and total absence of a view, we felt like we were in the basement or a cellar. So my advice would be to make a bigger window or windows in this room with shutters or blinds to let more light in.

The ocation is great near the beach aout 10 minutes walk. The owners are very friendly and always ready to help. Lovely family. Bed was comfortable. Aircon in my room didi not work well the other 2 rooms were fine. The house is clean the breakfast was very good.

The room is very nicely decorated and they are very welcoming. It has everything you need and is very close to the beach. We stayed for one night on our way through and really enjoyed it.

Very peaceful and beautiful place and we spent our days here happily. We are very interested to stay here more but we don't have enough time because we have to go back home. We assure you that we will come here again next time.

We had been stayed in Coastal villa Kallady for three nights.. owner was so good and kindfull to do our favor. We ate delicious breakfast, lunch and also dinner. We as a enjoyed Peacefull lagoon boat tours.. and precious sunrise and sunsets was best. Beach is also nearby, so happy to review for this homestay.. comfortable room and everything was clean , neat and traditional look.

La chambre du bas est très bruyante, car à côté de la cuisine et du salon de l’hôte et de sa famille. Lit très peu confortable (matelas très fin) Pas de draps : seulement une couette synthétique Pas d’eau chaude Petit déjeuner à la carte (3$ par « plat ») donc ça revient cher. Plats très épicés (je n’ai pas pu les finir)… La salle de bain n’était pas dans un très bon état : la fenêtre restait ouverte, impossible de la refermer : attention aux moustiques !

La chambre et la salle de bain étaient très propres, et les hôtes sont très chaleureux et accueillants ! Nous avons eu l’occasion d’aller faire un tour de bateau sur le lagon en leur compagnie et ce fut l’un de nos meilleurs souvenirs au Sri Lanka. De plus, la chambre est située à quelques minutes à pied de la plage et très proche du centre-ville en Tuktuk. 👌

Die Unterkunft liegt in einem Familienhaus, es ist in diesem Sinne kein Hotel sondern mehr ein Guesthouse, wo man ein Zimmer mietet. Daher sind beispielsweise Sofa, Kühlschrank usw. in den allgemeinen Räumen. Unser Zimmer war eher klein aber für 2 Nächte völlig ausreichend. Und das Preis-Leistung Verhältnis ist gut. Die Unterkunft liegt in Strandnähe und man kann dort sehr gut baden und die Ruhe geniessen (Strand ist nicht touristisch). Auch die von der Vermieterin organisierte Bootstour hat uns gut gefallen. In die Stadt muss man das Tuktuk nehmen.

Die Preise für das angebotene Essen fanden wir hoch, muss jeder selber entscheiden. Schade fanden wir, dass das erste Frühstück sehr lecker war und am nächsten Tag wie aufgewärmt schmeckte.

À notre arrivée, l’hôte s’est montré accueillant. Le soir nous lui avons fait part que nous voulions dîner sur place. Il nous a dit « ok rendez-vous 20h ». A 20h, il nous a dit que ce serait prêt dans 1h30, les plats sont finalement arrivés à 22h… Nous remercions toutefois sa tante qui a pris le temps de cuisiner pour nous à cette heure là. La chambre et la salle de bain sont de taille convenable, mais il n’y a pas de fenêtre et nous étions à côté de l’entrée, il y avait donc des bruits. Le petit déjeuner est copieux. Nous avons fait une lessive, mais certains habits ont été délavés. De plus le linge n’avait aucune odeur.

- Le service (le temps d’attente pour le dîner + il a fallu leur demander de nettoyer la table qui grouillait de fourmis…) - Le rapport qualité/prix (le pire depuis notre arrivée au Sri Lanka il y a 15 jours : 2 petits déjeuners + 2 dîners + 1 lessive = 77 USD ! Il ne s’agit pas des prix pratiqués usuellement au Sri Lanka !). - La connexion WIFI médiocre (impossible de charger un mail, surtout le soir) - Le matelas est très fin et dur

Chambre sans fenêtre. Salle de bain sans aération ni fenêtre carrément insalubre. Literie douteuse. Pas de drap de dessus, une sorte de couvre lit douteux.

We spent 3 days here and felt like home. Everything was absolutely perfect. Cozy guesthouse, homely atmosphere, pleasant host and his whole family. Beautiful beach not far from the accommodation. Excellent food, boat trip and lots of interesting information.

Es ist ein familiär geführtes Hotel ind alle Familienangehörigen sind super nett und höflich!!! Man fühlte sich sehr willkommen! Besonders Joel half uns bei allem. Zum Strand läuft man 6 Minuten und da dort dann auch alleine 🙂. Wir können das Hotel absolut empfehlen.

Durante la notte abbiamo sentito delle voci provenire dal soggiorno. Voci piuttosto alte. Ci siamo preoccupati e siamo andati a vedere. Era il proprietario con alcuni amici. Ci avrebbe fatto piacere essere avvertiti che avrebbe dato una festa.

Quan hem hagut de pagar el sopar el preu era completament desproporcionat (per 4 persones 50USD, molt per sobre del que hem pagat aquests dies per aquest menjar). Quan vam arribar a l'allotjament ens va demanar si volíem sopar, i li vam dir que sí, i "rice and chicken" (lo més senzill i típic), i ens ha cobrat això. Situació una mica desagradable, ja que ens hem sentit estafats.

L’host è molto premuroso e accogliente. Abbiamo chiesto di cenare in struttura ed è stato un pasto molto buono e cucinato sul momento! La camera, nonostante un po’ scura (solo una finestra oscurata) ha tutto quello che serve. Servizi puliti. La struttura si trova a pochi passi dalla spiaggia, anche se il mare è di difficile balneazione (quando siamo stati noi c’erano grandi onde).

Nous avons aimé la propreté des lieux et la sympathie des hôtes. L’hébergement est proche de la plage et des restaurants et commerce. Nous avons adoré le tour en bateau sur la lagune avec l’oncle. Et les repas et petit déjeuner de la tante sont délicieux et valent leur prix. La tante propose aussi des cours de cuisine

Wonderful stay – highly recommended ! We spent just one night at Coastal Villa, and it was perfect. Within ten minutes of our arrival, Anurahavan had arranged a boat tour of the lagoon and city – a fantastic experience ! The rooms are very comfortable, and the welcome from Anurahavan and his family was incredibly warm. If you’re passing through Batticaloa, don’t hesitate to book here – you’ll be in great hands !

Sehr herzliche Gastgeber. Man kann gutes Frühstück und Abendessen im Vorhinein bestellen. Ein kurzer Fußweg zur Hauptstraße (Restaurants, Shops..) und zum wunderschönen, sauberen und Menschenleeren Strand. Lage sehr ruhig. Das Badezimmer war sehr sauber!

Leider hat und die Unterkunft enttäuscht und die Lage war nicht gut (keine Restaurants gleich in der Nähe etc.). Die Betten waren hart und das Badezimmer nicht gut geputzt. An den Fliesen hatte es Kalkrückstände. Zudem waren Haare auf dem Boden. Das ganze Zimmer hat nach Zement gerochen, da der Boden im Badezimmer frisch gemacht wurde. Daher haben wir uns entschlossen, nach einer Nacht auszuchecken. Beim check-out, wurde uns ein anderes Zimmer angeboten, jedoch klnnte unsere Meinung nicht geändert werden. Auf meine Buchungsabänderunganfrage wurde nicht reagiert. Ehrlich gesagt können wir uns die guten Bewertungen nicht erklären. Bei der Ankunft mussten wir die 3 Nächte direkt bar bezahlen. Für den verfrühten check-out wurde uns kein Geld erstattet.

Wir hatten das Zimmer in der Coastal Villa eigentlich nur für eine Übernachtung auf unserer Durchreise von Arugam Bay nach Trincomalee bucht, waren aber absolut positiv überrascht von der Unterkunft. Das kleine süße Boutique Hotel ist in einem wunderschönen französischen Stil eingerichtet, mit dem wir uns direkt wohl fühlten. Unser Zimmer lag eine geschwungene Treppe entlang und durch eine bogenförmige Tür hindurch ganz oben, sodass wir uns wie in einem Schlossturm fühlten. Die Unterkunft war außerdem sehr sauber und mit allem ausgestattet was wir brauchten. In der angenehmen Stille konnten wir nachts so gut schlafen wie selten in Sri Lanka.

Super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Der Gastgeber ist nett und hat uns mit einem Willkommensgetränk und Tipps für die Stadt empfangen. Man ist schnell am Strand.

Frühstück kann am Vorabend bestellt werden, ist aber sehr teuer, dafür sind die Portionen groß. Leider kein Badestrand.

Hem gaudit moltíssim de l’estada! Les instal·lacions són modernes, molt netes i perfectament equipades, amb tots els detalls cuidats per garantir una experiència còmoda i agradable. La ubicació és excel·lent, a prop de tot però en una zona tranquil·la, ideal per descansar. Voldríem destacar especialment l’atenció del noi que ens va rebre: molt amable, atent i disposat a ajudar en tot moment, fet que va marcar la diferència. Sens dubte, un allotjament totalment recomanable i on ens encantaria tornar!

This is a highly recommended home stay. The accommodation is clean and comfortable - AC, fan, private shower room, etc. with a warm, friendly welcome from the family. Breakfasts were absolutely delicious. We only stayed a couple of nights but it was the perfect bolthole and excellent value for money.

It would be a 10 if it wasn't for some attitude from the host. I suggest coming here to stay the night but not taking any extra service. The food menu is in dollars, and there is no reason not to be in LRK, above all since the area is not touristy at all. It's always a shame to see dollars in a country that doesn't use them. Despite that, we decided to take the breakfast that was quite expensive, and in the end it was not worth the value for money. It was good but nothing special and not like the picture in the menu. What we found unacceptable is when the host asked us if we wanted tea for breakfast without mentioning the price and in a way it seemed like an offer, and in the end they charged us 6,5 dollars for two small cups of tea with milk...a price that is totally not true for any part of Sri Lanka (usually it's 1 dollar or little more). At the end we paid for breakfast almost the same price we paid for the room... The host also helped us to find an accommodation for the night after, which we appreciated a lot. We arranged a price with his help and in the end they tried again to charge us more for the room. Bad communication or trying to scam a tourist for some more money? We don't know...

Wir waren hier für eine Nacht als Zwischenstopp und würden die Unterkunft weiterempfehlen. Die Gastfamilie war sehr freundlich, das Zimmer sauber mit guter Klimaanlage. Die Unterkunft liegt nah am Strand. Frühstück (vergleichsweise eher teuer) kann gegen Aufpreis dazugebucht werden.

Das Bett war sehr schmal für 2 Personen und recht hart.

Für eine Übernachtung auf dem Weg nach Arugam Bay oder Trinco vollkommen ausreichend. Sehr sehr nette Gastgeber und tolles Abendessen. Vielen Dank
