Ultima Hotel Gstaad

AC is only a show, it didn’t work at all. Staff is short. You have yo wait a lot of time in their restaurants.

Nous avons passé un moment exceptionnel à l'Ultima Gstaad. Dès notre arrivée, l'accueil a été chaleureux et raffiné, à l'image de tout le séjour. Ce qui nous a le plus marqués, c'est sans conteste le personnel : du service en chambre à la conciergerie en passant par le restaurant, chaque membre de l'équipe s'est montré attentionné, disponible et d'une gentillesse remarquable, avec toujours ce petit supplément d'attention qui fait toute la différence. L'hôtel lui-même est un véritable havre de charme : une décoration soignée, une atmosphère intime malgré le standing du lieu, et un cadre à couper le souffle au cœur de Gstaad. On sent que chaque détail a été pensé pour que l'on se sente chez soi, tout en profitant d'un service digne des plus grandes maisons. Un immense merci à toute l'équipe pour ce séjour inoubliable. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir ! Muito obrigado !

The location was amazing and the staff were absolutely incredible. They were always smiling and kindly helping us every time. The chauffeur service was also very nice, they were always on time, so overall a top tier experience.

La chambre et la décoration

nous étions seuls dans la salle, ce qui créait une ambiance un peu étrange. Le serveur, qui s’occupe habituellement uniquement du bar, s’excusait à chaque passage. Nous avons choisi le cordon bleu de veau (132.– frs pour deux), mais il est arrivé froid et a dû repartir en cuisine…

Staff is so courteous and friendly, picked us up from the train station and were excellent our entire stay. The spa was also beautiful and relaxing. Breakfast was delicious too’

Pleasing design, close to slopes,nice food

We were first accomodated in a room that smelled like sewage and which was right above the kitchen. We soon noticed that all the kitchen odors would always be present in our bathroom and our dressing room. They tried to “fix” it when we complained, but obvioisly with no success, as things remained the same from this point of view. On the 1st of january, after 3 nights in that infamous first room,which included being woken up by some delivery truck that was making all sorts of noises right in front of our room on the 31st of december for 3 hours, they moved us to a bigger room in another wing of the hotel. We therefore spent 2 hours of our time of the first day of the year packing our suitcases to move to another room. At first it seemed an improvement, but we soon began to sense the same smell of food coming into this new room, which was unbelievable. Another unbelievable thing which we realised only too late was that they completely turned off the ventilation in the bathrooms of this new room, which is close to a health hazard in our opinion, since there were no accesible windows in any of the 3 bathrooms this new room had, only veluxes that were too high to be reached without some form of aid. Another horrible thing was that at approximately 2:30 in the morning on the 3rd of january, as well as on the 5th of january at approximately the same hour, we were woken up by some other “guests” that were partying next door with loud music and all sorts of screaming, yelling and banging noises that ruined our nights, even though they were indeed stopped by the hotel staff after complaining. These being said, instead of a relaxing and joyful end of 2024/beginning of 2025, we were subjected to various forms of stress through horrible smells and odors, as well as a lot of wasted time.

The staff were great and very attentive. I love the intimacy of the hotel. Was very impressed with the breakfast. Pastries and bread were wonderful and presentation was also good until I asked for scrambled eggs and were served to me in a cereal bowl. Was a bit disappointed with the Eggs Benedict served without ham, but for the most part it was lovely. I will come back again.

We had a two bedroom suite and it was beautiful if not a bit strange that the Main Bedroom had no real storage or closet and had to leave the room for the closet in the entrance hall. Great coffee set up although there was no cream provided. This is Switzerland and most Swiss drink cream in their coffee. When we asked at reception for it, we were told we had to ask housekeeping the next day. For that price point, it wouldn’t have been difficult for someone to go get some cream. There was a beautiful mirror in the bathroom. The bathroom is beautiful, but there was a problem for me. I am 5Ft 2in. The large mirror has a mirrored frame on it. It was impossible for me to use it as my face barely fit inside of the two panels and I am too short to see over the frame. Although it is beautiful, it is not practical. Too often, hotels cater to the needs of men more than women and this is one of those times. There is a stand alone make up mirror provided, but it is magnified and must bend down to use it. Again, not practical.

Exceptional hotel made even better by the most amazing team that work there. The best service of any hotel we have stayed in previously.

It is a real 5 star hotel, very professional staff, the from the warm welcoming to the pleasant check-out, it is like you are in your own luxury home. Special thanks to Christine, Alvaro & all the staff.

Staff were absolutely amazing they made it such a great stay. Food was wonderful breakfast and a dinner we had.

Very modern facilities with a very nice spa

it was well situated clean and luxurious. it was fully equipped beyond our expectations. we wish we would have stayed longer. We would definitely stay again. the staff were very professional and polite anticipating all of our needs. it was absolutely exceptional. They provided transportation and even offered to drive us to Saanen. we took train anyway just for experience. but the offer was much appreciated. It was the best part of our 5 city trip.

the orange juice at breakfast was average - did not seem fresh or maybe cut with some average type of juice. that is all I can find
