Very good place near the turtle beach. Nice accomadations and the open bathroom is very nice and clean.

Besonders zu erwähnen ist der tolle große Pool und die Ruhe. Wir haben beides sehr genossen. Die Bungalows (insgesamt nur 4 Stück) sind gut ausgestattet, uns hat es an nichts gefehlt. Das Freiluftbad ist sehr groß und schön gestaltet. Das Restaurant ist offen und bietet ein schmackhaftes Frühstück. In der Nähe gibt es eine Handvoll Restaurants. Zum tollen Strand läuft man max. 10 Minuten. Der Strand ist einzigartig schön und ruhig, zum Schwimmen aber durch die oft sehr starke Brandung gefährlich. Es gibt aber durch Felsen geschützte Bereiche, wo man gut baden kann. Für lange Strandwanderungen ist der Strand sehr gut, für kleine Kinder ggf. nicht so gut geeignet. Wir würden gerne wiederkommen.

Das Restaurant im Hotel ist sehr hochpreisig. Ansonsten alles gut.

Leckeres Frühstück und zuvorkommendes Personal. Der Pool ist das Highlight, mit fast 20 m kann man richtig gut schwimmen.

Neue Anlage, wunderschöner großer Pool. Nettes Personal. Zimmer absolut sauber, geräumig, neuwertig. Ein paar nette Restaurants in der Umgebung, Natur wunderschön, nachts sehr ruhig.

Am Pool fehlen Sonnemschirme. Offenes Badezimmer bedeutet Wildlife ... wir hatten ein paar Frösche. Auf Anfrage wurden diese entfernt (eher kurzfristiger Nutzen, es gibt dort mehr als genug) 😀. Das Restaurant war geschlossen, dies wurde erst bei Anreise mitgeteilt. Leider 2 Abende (unangenehm) betrunkene Personen in der Lobby/Bar (Bargäste).

Bei unserem Aufenthalt war es Nachts an mehreren Abenden sehr unruhig, weil ein paar Party People Disco gemacht haben. Das hat nicht zu der ansonsten ruhigen Lage und unseren Erwartungen gepasst. Freundliches Bitten hat nicht dauerhaft für Ruhe gesorgt.

C’est encore plus beau que sur les photos. La piscine est incroyable, avec une température idéale : on y entre comme dans un bain. Comme l’établissement ne compte que quatre chambres, nous avons souvent eu la piscine rien que pour nous, ce qui rend le séjour encore plus agréable. Les repas sont délicieux et le cadre le soir, avec les lumières, est tout simplement magnifique. Le personnel est d’une gentillesse exceptionnelle, toujours attentionné et souriant. Franchement, rien à redire : tout était top. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !

Sonnenschirme sollten im Poolbereich ergänzt werden! Restaurantpreise im Vergleich sehr teuer, sodass wir nicht im Hotel gegessen haben. Der Gartenbereich könnte liebevoller gestaltet sein, insbesondere um den Pool herum

We stayed at Omkara at the end of our Sri Lanka trip, it was the perfect end to a very varied holiday. The cabin is very spacious with a comfortable bed, and the outdoor bathroom is great - especially at night time seeing all the stars above! The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The stand out feature of Omkara has to be the swimming pool. It is big enough (I'd say 20-25 metres) to really have a proper swim, and it is clean and very inviting!

Beautiful swimming pool, disappointing service The reception manager was unfriendly and inflexible during check-in.
After a long and hot journey from Mirissa, our Apple Pay payment did not go through. We asked to check in and complete the payment within an hour because we need to top up the balance on another card which we had physical , but no understanding was shown. We were asked to wait at the reception before we paid. Is it my problem that your payment system doesn’t accept Apple Pay? The manager was rude he told us if you don’t like it you can choose another hotel. Imagine such an unprofessional behavior ? Did the manager think we wouldn’t pay staying here for three nights? 😆 It’s not a hotel with private four small villas.
Everyone from outside can use the swimming pool — just pay for one drink. The pool and restaurant areas are shared with outside visitors. But there are only 7 sunbeds…and 4 tables at the restaurant area ) Non-guests were constantly sitting in common areas, with strong smells of prohibited smoke (you know). This was happening all three nights we were there — no privacy, no chill. Loud talks all day and till late evening. Our room was never cleaned. Empty bottles and glasses were not removed, and the room had no natural light, no window, only very dim lighting. The hotel feels more like a public space than a proper hotel. 
Two stars — for the pool and the surroundings. I know what the hotel will answer: check the previous 1-star review for this hotel. And check their official answer, which absolutely verifies my review as 100% true ;)
If I had seen this 1-star review and the official answer from Orkawa Rekawa, I would never have booked this hotel And we also found a Cockroach in my room yuck. Lizard inside the room is ok cockroach means poor sanitation Not value for the money 100%

It was absolutely excellent for value. We really liked the pool. The room and outdoor bathroom are stunning. The staff members were also very nice and helpful when we had problems trying to get a prearranged transport.

Nothing really. It might be useful to have some chairs (e.g an armchair) inside the room itself though.

Omkara Rekawa offers a beautiful and serene/luxurious retreat. The amenties and room are very well kept, the pool was big and clean. All staff were extremely attentive and caring, going above an beyond for our needs and wishes. Very recommendable! If our vacation allowed it we would have extended our stay without a doubt :)

Der Pool kann auch von der Unterkunft nebenan benutzt werden. Es hatte daher einige Male zu wenig Liegestühle. Auf Anfrage werden aber Liegen gebracht. Zudem wären Sonnenschirme toll.

Locatia este superba, intr un colt verde, cu maimute prin copaci, veverite, pasari. Sunt 4 vilute cu o singura camera. Toaleta din aer liber a fost o minunatie!! Patul confortabil. Piscina binevenita dupa zile calduroase. In oceanul de langa locatie e destul de greu sa faci baie, e cam periculos, pentru copii, no way!

Wi fi foarte slab, nu ne a facut nimeni curat in 5 zile/4 nopti, nu au fost schimbate prosoape sau lenjerie. Nu ne a convins mancarea, pentru mancare excelenta recomandam terasa de la malul oceanului, Cactus din Tangalle.

Remote, relaxing, well looked after, peaceful and beautiful. Rooms and pool well maintained!

Die Anlage ist wunderschön und gepflegt, das Personal super freundlich und zuvorkommend. Die Zimmer sehr minimalistisch mit schönem Außenbad. Das beste ist definitiv der Pool!

Das Frühstück ist etwas eintönig, wenn man länger bleibt. Wir bekamen jeden Tag Früchte, Toast, Butter und Marmelade, da wir keine Eier und kein Fleisch essen.

Very beautiful hotel few meters from the beach with only four beautifully furnished rooms, amazing open sky bathroom and incredible swimming pool. You sleep with the sound of crickets and you wake up with the sound of birds. Very clean. The staff is amazing and very kind, always ready to help with anything you need. Amazing breakfast and food, the chef is fantastic as well. Very much recommended stay! Thank you so much for making our vacation wonderful!

Internet is not always working very well in the rooms but in the common area is much better. A part from this is the perfect place to relax, enjoy nature and have a wonderful time.

Hotel jest nowy i bardzo ładny, w bardzo spokojnej okolicy. Miejsce stworzone do odpoczynku i przebywania w otoczeniu natury. Basen zrobił na nas duże wrażenie - był naprawdę duży i zadbany. Sama obsługa jest pomocna na każdym kroku, czuliśmy się zaopiekowani.

​Positiv hervorzuheben ist definitiv der Pool, der eine schöne Möglichkeit zur Entspannung bietet. ​Leider wirkte die Unterkunft insgesamt etwas steril und es fehlt an liebevollen Details oder einer einladenden Dekoration, die dem Raum Wärme verleihen würde.

​Leider war unser Aufenthalt im Omkara Rekawa etwas enttäuschend. Die Unterkunft strahlt insgesamt eine gewisse Sterilität aus; es fehlen Details, Dekoration und die Wärme, die man sich in einer Ferienunterkunft wünscht. ​Auch die Gastfreundlichkeit empfanden wir als verbesserungswürdig und eher zurückhaltend. Besonders irritierend war, dass wir unmittelbar nach der Anreise – weit vor dem fälligen Zahlungszeitpunkt – gefragt wurden, ob wir bar zahlen können. Dies wirkte unangenehm aufdringlich. ​Aktuell fehlt es der Unterkunft an Persönlichkeit und einem herzlicheren Serviceansatz.

I stayed here just after the season in the South started again and it was a wonderful experience. The place just has few bungalows but it’s beautifully located close to the lagoon with sunset views and has an amazing pool for daily swim. Staff is superb and you feel like home. It’s few mins with the tuktuk from Tangalle but very calm and is close to one of the most beautiful beaches you will ever see. So 100% recommendation!

Waanzinnig lekker zwembad! Prachtig gelegen. Ontbijt heerlijk, keuze uit verschillende soorten ontbijt. We hebben er ook twee keer ‘s avonds gegeten, o.a. verse tonijn, de mega tonijn werd met een tuktuk gebracht. Heel aardige medewerkers. Vlakbij de Turlewatch, daar ben je lopend binnen 10 minuten. Wij hadden mazzel, zagen een schildpad eieren leggen en schildpadjes uitkomen. Huisjes zelfs zijn prachtig en schoon, met een heerlijke buitendouche. Voor het huisje spelen een heleboel eekhoorntjes, leuk om te zien. Huisje zelf is een beetje donker, maar je kunt ook lekker op de veranda zitten!

We loved it so much we ended up staying an extra night. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the whole atmosphere is calm and peaceful. There are only few rooms, so it feels cozy and quiet, perfect for relaxing. You’re surrounded by jungle sounds, with access to a peaceful lake and a nearby beach for long walks. Breakfast was amazing, huge portions and full of flavor. The staff is incredibly kind and genuinely cares about your comfort. Highly recommended.

It was very peaceful, the pool was beautiful and the rooms were amazing. The outdoor bathroom is pretty special and the style is great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a few cocktails and a meal which were also good. The breakfast included was a very generous serving and delicious!

Idyllic location, and all beautifully designed. The staff are charming and gentle, so it is a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Also remarkably good value. The pool is stunning.

Fabulous large rooms. We were in room 1 facing the pool. Had a lovely deck area overlooking the pool. Bathroom is outdoor, large and very well equipped. Room had kettle and fridge. Rooms and the rest of the hotel are very clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpfu. Hotel has a Tuk Tuk to ferry you around at a small cost. Hotel has its own access onto the lagoon with a lovely seating place & swing. It’s a short walk to Turtle Beach and there are many restaurants within easy walking distance. Breakfasts were plentiful and amazing. It a very chilled place.

Quite location ten minutes walk from the beach (where you can have an escorted walk to see Turtles laying their eggs at night). Sea too rough for swimming. Fabulous pool large enough for a proper swim. Comfortable large bed.

Friendly staff, good food at the restaurant, very nice bungalow and very beautiful and really clean swimming pool. They cleaned it every morning for an hour. The beach was on walking distance. Nice view over the lagoon.

For us personally it was a little bit too far away from everything. Only a couple local restaurants around. The sea was too wild at that location to be able to get in.

Swimming pool is amazing. It’s long enough for active swimmers, nicely illuminated in the night. They have best chef and the best food. Since there’re only 4 cabins it’s super peaceful and quiet. Staff is very helpful with whatever you think of (transport option or massage).

The only inconvenience is no every day cleaning. We’ve stayed 4 nights and our bedroom hasn’t been cleaned.

Super chill and nice place, with cool stuff and delicious food

Wonderful quiet place! Great swimming pool, the manager, mr Nipuna, was very helpful and friendly. Although close to the Lagune, no mosquitoes! Just for the feeling of safety, a safe in each Villa would be helpful. Good place to start trips around Tangalle but also to stay the day at the pool.

The hotel is brand new with very few rooms which are generously sized. The pool is great and big enough for a swim. Nipuna and the team were very attentive and accommodated any requests swiftly. The locations is 5 minutes walk from the beach and right next to a beautiful spot to watch sunset on the lagoon.

The rooms could be brighter, but this is a design choice. And the meal choices can be improved.

If you like peace and quiet then this is your kind of place. I absolutely loved my stay at Omkara and wish I could have stayed longer. The staff went above and beyond with their service. The accommodation was beautiful, the room was big and the bed was super comfy. It is just a short walk to Rekawa beach which is the perfect place to relax.

A full-length mirror in the room would be a good addition.

This was a lovely find in Tangalle. The room was extremely clean and the outdoor bathroom was clean too. The staff was wonderful and very attentive. The food at the restaurant is also amazing! We very much enjoyed our stay here and would come back.

In a beautiful setting with loads of privacy and nature around you. The room was big and the open air bathroom was wonderful. Amazing location, you can walk to the lagoon from the property and also access the beach which was empty and idyllic!

There was no fridge in the room which is often very useful for storing water. The menu for dinner was quite limited and we felt it was very overpriced. Breakfast was ok but quite limited compared to what we’ve had in other, cheaper hotels.

A large, beautiful, clean, spacious villa with an amazing outdoor bathroom. Complete privacy, a very peaceful and quiet place. I can't imagine a better place to relax. You can choose from 3 types of breakfast, 2 of which are Sri Lankan. All of them are very tasty. The accommodation is located near the lagoon and a beautiful beach, which you almost have to yourself. The staff is very kind, helpful, and accommodating. They will advise and assist with everything. My husband and I started our holiday in Sri Lanka at this place, then traveled around the island, and returned to Omkara for the last 3 nights. The most beautiful accommodation we've ever had, and we will always be happy to come back. We wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.

Super clean and spatious villas. Beautiful designed with large comfy bed. Staff can speak English fluently and are super friendly. You can have food here, for sure try the curry. Very good location close to turtle beach, where you have the coast almost for yourself.

Everything! It looks even better in reality than on the pictures. The moment you walk into the room (which is HUGE), you feel like you are in a paradise. The smell is amazing, towels smell amazing and the outdoor shower is top notch. It’s very clean, well-thought and the whole place is very peaceful. Friendly staff, good breakfast (you have 3 options to choose from). Definitelly the best accommodation we’ve had in Sri Lanka so far and will recommend to everyone.

Nothing. As a recommendation and feedback for you I would only suggest to hire some professional photographer to take better pictures of the hotel for the Booking because it deserves it, it’s a really beautiful place and the pictures on the Booking don’t look very professional in comparison to other luxurious hotels. But maybe it’s just a matter of time. :) Keep up the good work guys.

We discovered this gem of a hotel! My wife and I found this quiet paradise and were thrilled with our stay. Very fresh and clean, and the service is top-notch. Stunning views of the Lagoon and the atmosphere is so peaceful. Took the catamaran boat tour, got some perfect sunset photos. Visited the nearby Turtle Project and saw the egg laying process. Best food we have had so far on our trip, super healthy with some very different curries like banana flower and malabar spinach to go with the seafood mains. Large room and comfortable bed. Every detail shows their commitment to creating a memorable experience. Without a doubt, we'll be returning again on our next visit to Sri Lanka. Thanks to the entire team for their exceptional hospitality!

Just checked out this new hotel and it is an absolute vibe. Seriously, the place is spotless, and the service is off the charts. Lagoon-side luxury, totally chill. Catamaran ride? Do it. Sunset pics? Epic. A quick walk to the Turtle project, caught a massive mama turtle doing her egg-laying at sunset, it was wild. Now, the food here is legit. They cook up some seriously unique and tasty stuff. Lots of cold drinks and they have a few different free breakfast options. Our room was super comfortable, and the bathroom makes you feel like you are outdoors, but totally private. They are all about the little details, you can tell they are focused on that luxury feel. Definitely coming back for more. Big shoutout to Viraj and the crew – nailed the customer service game.

Everything was amazing

Brand New Hotel! My wife and I were among their first bookings and we couldn't be happier. Very clean, incredible service, true luxury right on the Lagoon. So peaceful and when we took out the catamaran boat for a lagoon tour we got awesome photos of the sunset. Just a short walk from the Turtle project where we watched the giant mother turtle laying her eggs in the early evening. Their food menu is different than most places you find, they have real experience in creating some unique and delicious ideas, including the desserts! Our room was large and the bathroom is a very cool design, the walls are high and the shower is exposed to the sky, which gives an outdoor shower feeling but completely private. All the little details are there, you can see they are really trying for the luxury experience. I would definitely come back. Thank you to Viraj, the director, and his crew for their perfect customer service.

I wish we can stay longer. Many things to do in this area.
