Hostel Mantra

This is one of the best hostel I’ve stayed in India, the cleanliness and the staff are amazing. Dwinsha, kunal, dharmendra are very friendly and they helped me a lot throghojt the stay. They’re in a lovely community and I’ll def back to this hostel if I’ll ever visit Udaipur again. And I miss the doggies!

Very friendly and the cute little arts and comfortable bed and clean floor. It was as advertised. We were really surprised by the views from the rooftop and from our room.

Nothing much to say. Smaller details - Towels can be cleaner and the bathroom floor could be non-slippery.

restaurant was working few hours, not the time we needed. They put us first floor, which i recommend to not take that room. No matter what time is in reception someone was shouting. Trash were in front of our door. But if it is other floors, that s good

Estaba roto el lavabo , los enchufes no funcionaban , el check in fue muy lento , no me dieron recibo de pago .. demoraron mucho . Incluso acusaron de no haber pagado unas aguas , la verdad es que la atención al personal fue border . Nos sentimos muy bienvenidos en todos los sitios que estuvimos pero aquí , flojo . No hablan mucho inglés , lo cual a veces complicado las conversaciones … Las fotos no son reales a lo que teníamos … La terraza era bonita !

This hostel is a gem. Nice, comfy and clean. Dwisha from staff is reliable and very welcoming. The rooftop bar is great. I would recommend to anybody.

I loooved my 10 day stay at Hostel Mantra. Less than aminute away from City Palace Udaipur, and it has the best rooftop view - I happily spent hours on their rooftop. The hostel room is comfy with a large washroom - toiletries & towels are provided at an additional cost, but I didn't mind because it was super budget friendly! They have a LOT of storage space in the dorm, the hostel is super safe! The team is super responsive & helpful. I made such wonderful friends at the hostel. Very glad I stayed at Mantra :)

The rooftop cafe serves breakfast only 9.30am onwards and is not very student budget friendly. The food is nice though expensive. This was the only one thing that wasn't perfect during my entire stay.

It’s complete with everything you need! Clean and just worth the money you paid for. Also the staff is so friendly and helpful! The location is also close to the One Galle mall which is very convenient. I will definitely recommend this place! 😊

Good place for nearby spots like lal ghat, gangaur ghat and Jagadish temple. The sunset from the cafe is really cool and refreshing. Must stay place.

L’emplacement, La vue du roof top, la chambre privée, les jeux et espaces communs.

Le premier matin nous voulions aller nous promener tôt (7h) mais nous étions enfermés à l’intérieur et nous n’avons pas réussi à joindre le gardien de nuit jusqu’à 8h15. A priori c’est exceptionnel et le lendemain ce n’était pas le cas, mais si c’est votre plan, pensez à prévenir la veille au soir.

Good stay in a good location large comfortable room

Had a few issues with laundry pieces missing but not the fault of the accomodation as i believe it is done externally and we were compensated by cheaper laundry rate.

The room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the window with glimpse to lake. The view of sunset from rooftop was beautiful and the cool breeze from the lake was pleasant. Staff was very friendly

I like the most location and cleaning

This was my 7th stay with Mantra but every time but Restaurant staff not at all humble actually they have too much attitude , never smiling face and too much expensive even Locle brand water bottles are expensive so i think Mantra should think about this actually restaurant part is ruining the image of Mantra so plz Mantra i request to note this . Thanks

- La salle de bain un peu vieille et pas très pratique avec l'eau de la douche qui s'étend sur toute la surface de la salle de bain. - Le petit déjeuner qui est bien plus cher qu'annoncé sur booking. Booking annonce 2€ alors que le prix du jus de fruits est déjà supérieur à 2€. - La chambre que nous avions n'était pas du tout lumineuse. - l'hôtel n'est pas accessible en voiture.

Really great location and gorgeous rooftop to watch the sunset over the lake. The staff were all lovely, friendly and helpful, especially Nisha who brought a really fun social energy.

My wife and I had a private room with bathroom and AC. It was large, clean, and comfortable. The location was very good.

On Friday night it was noisy due to a nearby karaoke that went on until midnight.

I tried a hostel for the first time and honestly, it couldn’t have been better. I went in a little sceptical, but a close friend strongly recommended this place—and it completely lived up to (and surpassed) my expectations. The property itself is stunning, perfectly located (a walkable radius from most important landmarks), with a rooftop view that’s hard to beat. But what really made the experience was the vibe—there’s such a natural sense of community here that just pulls you in. What I loved and will miss the most were the owners and staff, who are easily some of the warmest, most genuine people I met on this trip. Somehow managed to feel like I’d known them for ages by the time I left. Left with a full heart and would 100% want to stay here again.

I want to say a big thank you to the lady manager.hee name is Dwisha :)) She was so helpful, gave great information, and even picked up my calls late at night. I want to tell the owner that because of her, I had a wonderful experience. She is really amazing at her job, and thank you, owner, for having such a great staff. I stayed at Hostel Mantra in Udaipur, and the view of the water was really beautiful from Terrace :) . The people there were so welcoming, and I loved the ambiance and cleanliness. The beds were comfortable, the AC worked very well, and I also met some great people to stay with. Overall, I had a wonderful experience.

However, I had a bad experience at View Cafe, which is above the hostel. It was very expensive with small portions, and the staff was rude. Also, they demanded payment urgently while we were eating, which I didn't like at all.

訂房後,立即收到郵件要求,立即付款,否則不保留房間. 與Booking.com的訂房要求,完全不同. 1.實際入住,設備老舊,備品噁心,到處都是破敗雜亂的擺設, 2.最期待的湖景,根本是騙人,看鐵皮屋屋頂景還差不多. 3.整個頂樓,老白嬉皮橫七豎八,抽著菸喝著酒,佔據座位... 4.不想讓旅客用的wifi等...整個旅館有七八個網路,20幾個字的密碼 5.想吃飯還要,上網看菜單(沒有實體菜單)..根本難連,算了不吃 6.號稱有很多活動體驗,時間到了根本沒有,完全騙人

L’emplacement est très bien, en plein centre mais un peu reculé au calme. L’équipe est super et vous propose de nombreuses activités et des découvertes culinaires. La chambre était propre.

Nous avions une chambre double qui mérite un petit rafraîchissement. Elle est au frais mais elle sent un peu l’humidité.

Lovely staff at Mantra Hotel, they strive to make your stay pleasant. They are helpful in everyrhing you need, they organize activities and make you feel at home.

Staff wasn’t always so friendly

Excellent location. Stunning view from rooftop and there is a bar on the roof that sells great food and cheap. River cruise entry just at door step. Convenience store right next door. Walking distance to city palace, markets and temples.

Bathroom attached to room could have had a few more amenities and a shelf for toiletries.

The location of the hostel is at the core of the old city and few happening places around which is perfect. The hostel rooms were fairly clean and hygienic, the check-in was smooth with early check-in and check-out available. The terrace area is Awesome and that's the place where I made most of the friends and many connections. The sunset from the top is worth the experience with free chai at sunset. The hosts Suyasha & Ayush helped me a lott during my stay as I kept extending and originally I planned to stay for 5 nights but I stayed for 10 days. Suyasha & Ayush made sure that everything was taken care of properly and they made follow-ups too. Have made a bond like my own siblings with them, don't even hesitate to bring up a complaint or two in front of them and they make sure those things are taken care of immediately. Dwisha too conducted a karoake night which was too much fun! Overall, the hostel mantra is a place which I would surely visit again and is DEFINITELY worth a visit. A home away from home.

Hope the below points are considered progressively as these are written for the betterment of the hostel culture: 1. Too few activities - Udaipur has a scope for too many rides, games, activities, workshops, ice-breaker meets and what not. It seems you guys are not tapping the right resources to make it more interactive. I personally met 5-6 bagpackers from Mantra who said they need to experience pottery classes or clay art. The activities should be dynamic and not rrepetitive as the guests staying there for long will jot participate for the same thing again and again. 2. A common whatsapp group should be made for maximum participation in day tours and the amount could have been less too. Frequent cancellations for day tours are frustrating to be honest. A common whatsapp group will make everyone see who's coming and few ppl will join automatically. 3. The doors are closed after 12:30 am and eventhough there's a note written to call on a certain number, they have not opened it even after too many calls n knocking. It happened 3 nights. Now hostels should not have this early curfew hours bcoz people have come here to travel and explore and they ought not to be time-bound. A solution for this, a tech-advanced approach like smart locks with scanner keys could be attached. 4. The restaurant and bar should be kept open till atleast 11:30 because people start gathering around 10-10:30 and by the time the cafe closes at 10:30. Seems like when the best time of socialising is happening there's no food or booze available. The booze prices could be lowered substantially because it is the same as the other posh properties and mantra's cafe is not posh. Thalis and a few more Indian foods can be added as people after a few days crave for homely food.

We had great experience at this hostel. All staff was so kind and friendly, food was delicious, they have fun event at the rooftop Cafe.. I had really good time with friends from other place of India.. My friend and I joined sunrise trip,, it was fantastic experience. I will miss the moments I had at this hostel.

Best place I found in my trip! Amazing staff and rooftop, great atmosphere and amazing position with a view on the Lake. As a solo women traveller I always felt safe.

One of the best hostel experiences I’ve ever had. Everything—from the stay and rooms to the stunning views—was exceptional. What truly stood out were the hosts: incredibly hospitable, genuine, and welcoming. This place offers one of the best views Udaipur has to offer, is very affordable, and makes you feel instantly at home. I wouldn’t think twice about booking here again on my next visit to Udaipur. Highly recommended for a truly memorable, lifetime experience! ☺️

Hostel Mantra was my first hostel experience, and I think I need to go and buy a lottery ticket after the experience of a lifetime I’ve had. I picked this place as one of the reviews talked about how they made lifelong friends here while exploring this city. I’m walking out with friendships I’ll cherish for the rest of my life. My original plan was to stay one night. However, after seeing the view from the roof with the morning fog, and overhearing the experiences of some leavers, by the evening I had extended my stay by three days. The owner and the staff work relentlessly to really bring the most awesome vibes. DJ nights, karaoke, late-night games, and chats. This, in turn, has built a large and reputable base of return customers who come back to visit their home away from home. I’ve lived overseas for 12 years, but in the four days I spent here, with the people I met, the staff, the friendships, and the conversations, I’ve never felt more welcomed. Also, a very, very special shoutout to the café. The food is genuinely some of the best I’ve had in Udaipur and an actual hidden gem. I’m a foodie, and I’ve never seen this level of consistency, quality, and attention to detail in every single item on their menu. Thank you to the Mantra team. You will see me again soon.

Location and the sunset

Letteralmente tutto stupendo. La struttura gestita da ragazzi giovanissimi e davvero adorabili. Ho passato qui il Natale, ci hanno lasciato usare la cucina del ristorante per tutto il pomeriggio permettendoci di cucinare cibi tipici dei nostri Paesi. La sera abbiamo condiviso il cibo con gli ospiti e con i ragazzi dello staff. Abbiamo creato il nostro Natale e ci siamo sentiti davvero a casa. Inoltre i ragazzi dello staff ci hanno aiutati a reperire tutti gli ingredienti, anche quelli più difficili da trovare. Per la prima volta mi è davvero dispiaciuto dover lasciare un ostello e le persone che ci lavorano. La struttura poi ha una terrazza con vista meravigliosa, un ristorante con cibo molto buono, posizione ottima.

I loved this place. It has a really nice vibe and nice staff. The roof top is awesome. Good value for money. Location too not notch. Quite clean also, and the beds are so comfy - which is not a given in Indian hostels!

The location is great and the rooftop cafe has amazing views over the lake. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly (particularly the female member of staff on reception, I’ve forgotten her name).

The room could be quite noisy at times as we could hear other guests above and outside the room. Also, we seemed to have an issue with the hot water from the shower in our room. The staff attempted to fix it but we could never get more than a minute or two of hot water. However, having since had the same issue in other hotels in Rajasthan it seems it is because of the small hot water tank(s).
