Had a great stay with Tamasha Exceptional location walking distance from ghats and city palace Rooftop has a scenic view of lake Great Host (Elivia) and Staff were really friendly and hospitable Would love to come back whenever I am in Udaipur ! 🤌

Worst rooms and property. No facilities not as per pictures shown, in reality its worst.

A memorable stay, having superb lake view and amazing sunset. Guys are really helpful and friendly. Close to city palace and lake pichola.

Very good location and the staff is really nice. The common parts are also nice, with an excellent view on the lake for sunset

Cleanliness could be better (stains on bedsheets) and the beds are old so not so comfortable (metallic bar which prevents you from moving)

i chose this place after comparing it with another option on booking.com, mainly because of its stronger reviews across platforms. in hindsight, i wish i hadn't. i arrived late and, as often happens, the person i had been communicating with on whatsapp was not there. instead, i was checked in by staff who seemed very young, spoke no english and handled things with little sense of urgency. it set the tone: slow, disorganized, and not particularly welcoming after a long day of travel. the room itself was problematic in several ways. it is located directly next to the staircase: so close that stepping out requires immediate attention to avoid the drop. as expected, this meant constant noise from people going up and down. combined with very thin walls and a building that feels generally worn down, there was no sound insulation. the room was also extremely small, with barely enough space to move around the bed. the windows were old and didn’t close. despite a supposed quiet time after 11pm, there was loud activity from staff late into the night. when i reacted to the noise, the situation escalated in an unexpected way: instead of addressing the disturbance, the owner called to complain about me 'making noise' and potentially waking other guests, when i was telling them to shut up! this was particularly frustrating given the circumstances. attempts to discuss the room issues,especially the windows, were consistently avoided. requests for any form of compensation were dismissed and the conversation was repeatedly deflected with reassurances like 'no one else has complained' and suggestions that i was overreacting. i was told i could change rooms the next morning, though it was implied that this would come at a higher cost. after a sleepless night, i went to check the other accommodation i had originally considered, located about 650m away.

Very good location! Mahen was very helpful and professional, arranged early check-in, assisted with purchasing tickets and shared all valuable places to check out.

Im Doppelzimmer könnte noch ein Regal/Schrank zum Verstauen der Sachen angebracht werden.

Some facilities could not reach us on time. The people were not available on. Electricity not available at times. Water deficiency.

A great location and a beautiful rooftop terrace! Rooms are basic but clean and for this price in this location, this is good value for money. Mahen at the reception is nice ane helpful.

It is a in a good location close to places of interest. The view from the terrace is lovely over the lake. The young man who manages it is friendly.

If you are over 24 this is not the place for you. It is rundown, dirty, noisy. You cannot describe the bed as having a mattress. It’s more like a padded board. The pillows are rock hard. You need to keep an eye on your shoes as my husband’s flip flops were taken. After making a fuss they did turn up. The room was dirty with rubbish under the bed. The walls are crumbling. After one use the towels were musty.

I am unsure why this place rates highly except for the staff who are so accommodating and lovely. I saw mihot take a solo traveller around everywhere so they were not lonely. The place is well located, and the views from the small, non glam rooftops are beautiful.. and you don't need to buy anything to be on them. Management were good in communicating and getting us two rooms. The cleaner does a good job with the equipment she has. And she cha ged our smelly bla ket and gave us a top sheet when we requested it. Aside from that the dorms must be good because the deluxe and 'best room' in the house are not good value at all.

The main problem is the design of the building with the staircase against the back wall. It is basically an amplifier and echo chamber. So if someone is upstairs making a phone call (not loud) you are going to hear every word at 1am. If they are listening to sport below at 2pm... you are going to know about every goal. Its just acoustics. The bathroom was tiiiiny.. we have travelled for three months and have not had such a small bathroom full of limescale and red mould. This would require a deep clean with products I'm sure the cleaner doesn't have access to. If you are bathroom sensitive this is not the place for you.. check out the photos. At this price point.. the best room was 3500.. you can expect much better in India.

Gostei muito da localização, da conveniência e da vista do café e dos funcionários que tive contato. A limpeza do quarto estava ok e a cama também

A limpeza poderia ser um pouco melhor, mas estava bem satisfatória. O ar condicionado funcionava mas era bem barulhento e o quarto poderia passar por uma pintura e remodelação. Cama e travesseiros duros porém limpos

The location is Good , Just 2 mins walk from the city palace. The staff is friendly and cooperative. They clicked for me some super amazing photos . Special thanks to the community manager Misbah and Mahen . They didn't let me feel like I was on a solo trip.

Is not value for money . Prices are higher according to the facilities . Dorms are congested .

It is located near into city palace and Jagadish temple.

My plan was to stay for 1 day but this hostel stole my heart ❤️I stayed there for 5 days ! The view , people , staff all are amazing ! It felt like a home to me ! The hostel has the best view you can see lake , mountains and sunsets all together at rooftop and common area . Loved this property ❤️

Tap water was off

The people: we did not see the owners but Mahen was running the hotel at the time we were there and he was simply wonderful. He also took us on a morning tour through the hills and i highly recommend this!! It is very very beautiful. Also the location is AMAZING! Thanks for everything Mahen.

Compared to our other stays this was more expensive.

Best place to stay in Udaipur and fell the vibe of the sunset at Pichola lake from the amazing Tamasha rooftop. All the staff do his best to let you fell like at home. Great food, friendly staff and cleanest place in the city... no doubt, come and enjoy the city in Tamasha Udaipur !

I had to travel here specially during monsoon, this place has new staff, they are really good at managing this new place, very kind and helpful people. Every hostel should have such polite staffs. This hostel is best place for solo traveller. Views from top is amazing. City Palace is at walking distance from this hostel.

Vicinissimo al centro, prezzo perfetto, incredibile la vista dalla nostra camera e anche dal rooftop dell'hotel. reception sempre attenta e disponibile , siamo stati aiutati più volte da Mahen, ragazzo gentilissimo che lavora in questo hotel.

Per il prezzo pagato non c'è nulla di cui possa lamentarmi, il bagno è un po' piccolo ma è normalissimo in india.

Absolutely loved my stay at Tamasha . The staff was incredibly friendly. The dorm was clean , common area was a nice place to hang out . Perfect for meeting other travelers on a budget .

La posizione è molto comoda perché rimane centrale, vicino al lago, al City Palace e al tempio. Ha una terrazza dove poter rilassarsi. Stanza grande. Bisogna adattarsi.

Il letto è scomodissimo, durissimo e il bagno piccolo e lo scolo della doccia non funzionava bene e l’acqua faticava a scendere.

È terrificante. Sporco per standard indiani, urlano come pazzi fino a tarda notte, non prendono carta, solo contante. Prima camera che ci hanno dato non aveva la chiave, sono rimasti sconvolti quando gliel'abbiamo richiesta. Non so se il posto abbia cambiato gestione ma onestamente se potete, evitate. Noi la seconda notte ad udaipur abbiamo cambiato hotel direttamente, all'ultimo, e venivamo da 6 giorni di standard indiano gestito senza troppe turbe. Aiuto.

Exceptional stay! I had a fantastic experience at Tamasha Hostel in Udaipur. The place is spotlessly clean, in a great location, and has a beautiful rooftop with stunning lake views. The social atmosphere made it easy to meet other travelers, and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. A big thanks to Pragya, the owner, who was very welcoming and made sure everything was perfect. Highly recommend this hostel to anyone visiting Udaipur!

Emplacement au coeur de la vieille ville juste à côté du City Palace. L’accueil de Pragya est très chaleureux et ses conseils sont très pratiques ! Nous avons passé un excellent séjour à Udaipur grâce à cet Hostel
