The room was very dated, needed some major work around kitchen and bathroom areas. TV reception was snowing and unacceptable. No wall safe for personal belongings.

THE FACILTIES WERE GREAT

The room was not very clean, there was dust and mould in the air vents. Some of the tiles in the room were cracked, the bathroom was not up to standard, there is no shower curtain which makes it difficult. We tried to contact the host numerous times to no avail he did not respond to any calls or messages.

I booked this unit to relax but when I got there it was so noisy, extremely loud construction or whatever was happening above the unit drilling banging. I couldn't take it no more. I tried contacting the host , Adam with no joy. The staff also tried contacting him and nothing. I paid for a unit that I only stayed less than 2 hours and the host is unreachable. I would have liked a credit or a opportunity to rebook at a later date. Very unhappy 🙁

Our specific room was not updated. The bathroom and kitchen was very dated and worse we found cockroaches in the bathroom and kitchen cupboards. That was really a downside

When I got there for check in ,I was told that they couldn’t find my booking and they’ll have to call the agent to confirm. 10 minutes later I was told my booking was ready . I got to the apartment and it’s was not what I booking for and it was very far from everything as if I booked late and the worst part we went there as couples and we booked a 2 double bed apartment and surprisingly bedroom 1 had a double bed and bedroom 2 had 2 single beds. How can a married couples be given single beds? It was clear I wasn’t taken serious. We book with money and this was not a free stay. I can clearly see that they threw us in an apartment that was available not what we booked for. An hour in the apartment after the check in we received a call from reception about an unsettled bill from the previous night. So this was the last straw, I can’t believe what had happened. 🙈 this feels like money wasted.I was not tired I was definitely going to look for something better. It’s clear that Breakers resort has nice apartments but the one I was given was the worst unit 227 is long walk to freedom. Maybe my booking was as given to someone else because I was clear of what I booked for .😒😒

I liked the fact that there’s a lot to do on the premises, I didn’t need to drive elsewhere to entertain my son, love love the facilities

The rooms could use some maintenance and deep cleaning. I saw a cockroach in the kitchen and that just put me off. Couldn’t eat from the provided utensils because of that. General mould and dust could be better maintained

I loved the location, the facilities such as the heated pools and game room. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our every need. Clean spaces, fresh towels and bonus freebies (I got a free popcorn while walking to reception). A lot of activities for both adults and kids. Easy to check in and easy to check out.

They were fitting a geyser when we checked in at 2, we used the toilet and had to pur wzter manually, that was unpleasant so we checke din at 2 and had no water till about 4 and that was not nice

Room needs to be fixed/done up. Kitchen cabinets and floor skirting falling apart. Fridge not working and microwave rusty. Sliding door in lounge does not lock. Sliding door gate also does not lock. Curtain rails in room does not have a stopper.

The Resort itself and the staff were friendly.

Our stay at this unit was disappointing due to cleanliness deficiencies and a lack of basic maintenance. The property was not properly prepared for guests and requires a deep, professional clean. Thankfully we only stayed for one night. Before going to bed, we had to personally dust the ceilings and re-dust the beds. The wardrobes emitted a strong odour, which was made worse by the discovery of a previous guest's underwear left inside in the second bedroom. Furthermore, there was noticeable dampness and dirt on the walls outside the bathroom and around the unit. The unit also lacks basic functionality and standard amenities: Bathroom: The bathtub lacks a glass screen or curtain, causing the floor to flood completely during showers. No hairdryer was provided for use after the pool. Connectivity & Power: There are no standard two-pin plug points available to charge our smartphones. Entertainment: The television system is completely outdated. Streaming services like Netflix and Prime Video are unavailable, and I had to manually configure the bedroom TV just to get a few basic channels to function. Parking: The bay undercover had a pool of water, I couldnt exit nor enter my vehicle without stepping into the water and messing my carpets in my vehicle. I reached out via WhatsApp earlier in the week to enquire about parking and early check-in, but received absolutely no response from the host. This property has great potential, but management must significantly improve their housekeeping standards and update the room's amenities to meet basic modern hospitality expectations.

We were definitely not given the apartment we booked. We booked and paid for a luxury apartment and were given a run down standard apartment. We phoned Adam to discuss it, and he bluntly told me the apartment I booked was been renovated and I should take what was available at the time. The second apartment he offered was very small and unclean. When I phoned to say neither apartment was acceptable, he did not answer and never returned the call. He is just like a scammer. I was so looking forward to a luxury apartment as we were in the pics as it was a special holiday for us.Adam runs his own cleaning ladies at Breakers but they did not put our apartment on the roaster to be cleaned.we could not clean it ourselves as there were no cleaning facilities like brooms and mops. My apartment was really run down and disappointing. It is not Breakers fault as Adam is the booking agent. He did tell me to get a refund from Booking.com????? I am a very dissatisfied customer, and if my complaint is not seen to, I am going to take the matter to the highest level possible and use social media to help me. This will avoid further people being disappointed by somebody who takes your money and does not care. We are pensioners who had saved up for a special break and were very disappointed at the uncaring attitude of Adam. As he does not answer his phone could someone else respond to me

Location is great, wonderful staff & great facilities. My children & I enjoyed the stay. Love the fact that they have fun activities daily for one to join.

Struggled to get into contact with my host regarding changes. In fact I never heard from him even after numerous attempts to reach him. Check in was at 2pm and my room was only ready at 2:30 needless to say it was not spotless! There was a horrible smell as if the mop used to wipe the floor was dirty or stale. However the remaining days of my stay the staff came in a cleaned up nicely.

The apartment was conveniently situated for our purposes. It has easy access to the beachfront walkway, and is secure. We had undercover secure parking.

The apartment is a bit "tired" and needs some basic maintenance, although I understand that short-term tenants can be a bit careless in their use of property which is not their's.

I liked the facilities of the resort, pools are warm and very kid friendly. The building itself looks abilities shabby as it needs a repaint in the corridors.

The actual apartment needs major tlc...it needs a revamp. The stove is extremely old and rusted and the shower had mold. For me a clean shower is extremely important. Please try to revamp the apartment.

No sea view; tap in kitchen is loose; toilet seat not properly fit; couches very uncomfortable; woodwork needs attention; plug points need to be modernised - no two-point plug point; "snowy" TV picture; another hand rail closer to shower - felt "unsafe" when showering - husband is 80 years old with hip problem.. ; duvet suitable for Queen size, not for King size. ;

The room we was staying in had some sort of construction next door we stayed at 418 an the room number 417 has the construction from 8 30 am till 15 30 I did record the nose in our room

Beachfront location with easy access to the beach and walking trails.

A disappointing stay that completely lacked tranquility due to disruptive construction right around our unit. What made this worse was the lack of communication—we received absolutely no warning about the noise via message before we arrived, nor was it mentioned at check-in. Cleanliness and general upkeep were also poor; we found dirty, unwashed dishes in the cupboards, the Jacuzzi bath wasn't working, and the unit is in desperate need of overall repairs and maintenance. Furthermore, the advertised hairdryer was missing and had to be fetched from reception. Lastly, the heated pool is located at the very bottom of the property, rendering it practically useless in cold weather. Overall, not the greatest experience.

The views were amazing, and the beds were comfy.

Adam , the host of the property did not take our calls from the first day or arrival . The unit was it terrible condition upon arrival, baths were blocked , mold and rust in showers , oven was so dirty inside , and the room was leaking with the rain . the host did not take our calls to assist in any way , there was no resolution to our stay or making us comfortable.

The location was excellent, and the facilities and amenities were very good. The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The bedding and towels were white, fresh, and exceptionally clean, and the floors were spotless. I was also very pleased that there were absolutely no bugs, cockroaches, or other insects anywhere in the apartment. However, the overall cleanliness of the apartment was only average, and certain areas could definitely have been cleaned more thoroughly. The exceptionally clean bedding, towels and floors, together with the fact that there were no insects, were the main reasons I was comfortable enough to stay. My booking had been made well in advance, but by the time I arrived and saw the condition of the apartment, it was too late to find suitable alternative accommodation elsewhere, so relocating was unfortunately not a realistic option. Overall, the excellent location, good facilities and friendly reception were definite positives, but the general cleaning of the apartment could certainly be improved.

Upon entering the apartment, it was immediately noticeable that the property was poorly maintained and in need of significant attention and repairs. The stove was broken and cracked, some of the cupboards were falling apart, and the couches, curtains, and bedroom headboards were visibly stained and dirty. The fridge appeared to have been painted, with the paint now peeling off, which added to the overall unmaintained appearance of the apartment. The bathroom door did not lock, the bedroom doors could not properly close or lock, and the bathroom tap was leaking. Most concerning was the visible mould growing on the ceiling, which should be addressed urgently. Although the floors, bedding, and towels were exceptionally clean, the general condition of the furniture, fixtures, doors, appliances, and finishes made the apartment feel neglected and poorly maintained. It is unfortunate because the property has an excellent location and good facilities, but it would benefit greatly from proper maintenance, repairs, replacement of stained furnishings, and a thorough deep clean.

The bathroom needs to be upgraded. The shower was in very bad condition. The toaster was not working. I had tried contacting the owner several times but there was no response. There was no heater / the aircon didnt have a heat function. The bedding had stains on it. The balcony door had a very old latch which made it very hard to open the door & go onto the balcony. There was no soap or handwash in the bathroom The cupboard on the top in 1 of the rooms was locked & there was little space to keep bags I had requested for additional blankets due to it being so cold this weekend but, I only found 1 old blanket in the cupboard.

The property needed upgrading. Damp walls , ceiling slanting , old fridges /1 not working , not much utensils in the kitchen, minimal and not cosy a cosy feel. The agent needs to get the owner to upgrade and will not make contact when you get in touch with him. Awful bedding and no sofa bed as we were 4 adults & 1 child (8) year old. Chipped utensils . Once payment is taken the agent does not get in touch to Make amends. Pics were sent to him & booking.com and we wait to hear if the outcome. Booking.com should also have transparency to what is on the platform as some pics are not included when renting out. Also they should accommodate one if the place is not suitable once book and paid.

We checked in at about 3:30. We were given a key then it got swapped. We went to the room it was not made up, was not ready at all!! I went to ask and then we got another room key. The second room the kitchen was full of cockroaches, bedroom light didn't work. We have a 1 year old but we're put right at the end of the building it was a very far walk to our room. We got a email to request a cot a day before arriving which I did.. they eventually brought the cot but with no sheets no blankets nothing.. Who travels with sheets for a baby cot?? Luckily I did bring extra blankets.. Its tricky to complain because the price was such a bargain for the area!!! I used to live in Durban and went to breakers often to swim and have drinks and lunch, that's why I decided to stay there cause it was always good but I am very disappointed. Its very sad cause I have good memories of the place... Location is prime.

The location is good everything outside the apartment is great

I recently stayed in Apartment 325 at Breakers Resort and was very disappointed with the experience. The cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard, and the apartment is in need of significant maintenance as it appears old and run down. There were no toilet rolls provided on arrival, which was inconvenient, and the hot water was not hot, making it uncomfortable to shower. Overall, the apartment did not meet my expectations, and I would not choose to stay here again. I hope management addresses these issues to improve the experience for future guests.

Apartment is old, dirty and literally falling apart!

The service staff were amazing

Upon arrival, we were initially allocated a unit that was extremely far from the entrance and was not the garden unit that I had specifically booked. After raising this with your team, we were moved to a garden unit. While I appreciated the effort to relocate us, the replacement apartment was in an unacceptable condition. The apartment was very poorly maintained and appeared run down. The shower drain was blocked, causing the water to pool and overflow onto the bathroom floor during every shower. There was visible mould in multiple areas, which is completely unacceptable, particularly for accommodation advertised to families. This was especially frustrating as my wife, our two young children, and I had to shower there before our flight, making what should have been a straightforward morning unnecessarily stressful and unpleasant.

The room was spacious and views are lovely.

The shower attachment was broken and water was not draining fast enough showering was a nightmare especially after being at the pool and beach we where unable to wash our hair with ease. This was very disappointing 😞

Apartment wasn't very clean and was a bit run down. Rooms did not have air conditioner and the fan in the room did not work very well. There are many parts of the apartment that needed cleaning.

Liked that it was on a lower floor with seating outside.

We have stayed at the breakers resort multiple times and we have always enjoyed our accommodation. However this time we stayed in unit 315 and the unit is terrible. It is very run down!
