The reception area, the foyer as well as the dining area. The view is great.

1. The Bathroom needs upgrading 2. The bedroom carpets needs replacing; carpet was wet and smelling 3. The beaches were closed, the hotel should have told us this before booking, hence we book at your hotel 4. I am still waiting my refund on the incorrect booking, to date no email from the hotel regarding my refund.

Prachtige locatie, direct aan de oceaan en met toegang tot een meer dan 2 Km lange wandelboulevard. Zeer uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet en vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.

Het gebouw vertoont wel al wat verouderingsverschijnselen. Zo was ons schuifraam voor de toegang tot het terras zeer moeilijk te openen en was er een kier tussen de raamdelen waardoor de wind naar binnen kon.

Shower in bath .Old showerhead in wrong position.Mattress slightly tilted to side.Four meals I had main dishes awful,no standard for expensive hotel.Cheese and drinks hour small salad bowls not fresh:, prepared too early.Wine per glass too rigid to old etiquette .

The breakfast was good and the location is great. Most of the staff are very welcoming and the welcome back note left on the beds was lovely. The rooms were decorated well and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The dinner (curry and a burger) that we enjoyed in the lounge area was very tasty. Had an great early morning walk along the promenade and pier before breakfast. There were already quite a few people out and it felt safe to be out walking alone.

The building is looking a little rough around the edges. The patio doors were difficult to open and did not lock. There is a lot of peeling paint outside on the balconies and very dirty windows in the passages, which are covered by net curtains. A revamp of the outside property seems to be long overdue.

Sehr schönes, charmantes Hotel in absolut traumhafter Lage oberhalb des Strandes mit schönem Pool, Blick auf den Leuchtturm und sicherem Parkplatz. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut und sehr umfangreich. Das Restaurant zum Dinner konnten wir nicht nutzen, da es total unterkühlt war. Frühstück und Lunch kann man auf der Terrasse genießen. Unser Zimmer sehr schön, ausreichend Platz mit eigenem Eingang direkt am Pool. Da die Nächte sehr kalt waren und die Klimaanlage nicht heizte haben wir einen Heater erhalten. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Pretty much everything! Staff are amazing. Rooms are spacious, well appointed and very clean. Food was excellent. Well situated on the beachfront promenade. Close to other restaurants and shops, and a short drive to Gateway.

Wonderful location, overlooking the Umhlanga beach and lighthouse. Breakfast was outstanding and staff at the pool were extremely friendly and attentive. The staff kept the premises in pristine condition and the daily turn down and room servicing was amazing.

The rooms need an update and the old fashioned shower-in bath is just not good enough for a five star hotel! Southern Sun needs to invest in updating the rooms. Sunday live solo saxophonist was too loud and made dining a painful experience to the ear.

a few things didn`t work. wash basin plug and cold water taps fast closed and shower mixer didn`t work which mean cold water only. small stuff but the hotel need the bathrooms updated form what I also heard from other guests.

The air-conditioning was not heating up a lame asbestos heater was brought which didn't do the job. The rugs caused allergies and constant sneezing. The food was terrible. Unfortunately did not live up to 5 star expectations.

Linen on bed wasn't clean. Sheet on bottom and topsheet was all that was covering the duvet the duvet was off white colour and would expect higher standards in a 5 star hotel

Not the hotel’s fault, but the night clubs across the street are extremely noisy, it is very unpleasant. Luckily you can’t hear them in the room, but it is loudly heard at the pool and restaurant area. It detracts from the peaceful atmosphere.

The location was great and the staff was welcoming and helpful. And professional, enjoyed every encounter with them.

Didn't like the bathroom(old set up) tabs dont work properly,water spilling all over cos the design of the shower is old....for the amount of money spent on the booking,was expecting very nice room interiors.

I stay often and it is just so comfortable and welcoming.

The staff was very friendly and we felt very looked after. Loved that I did not feel that i was been taken advantage of by keep having to pay more for things Like Cappuccinos was included for breakfast

Really nice position, nice ocean views and very friendly staff! Pool area with ocean views was also great.

Our room was clean but a bit dated. Especially the sliding door to the balcony was very difficult and heavy to open. In the mornings you could clearly here neighbours and water flushing, waking us up too early. Hope the hotel receives an upgrade soon.

Breakfast, definitely breakfast. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One night they served complimentary cheese and wine , a nice touch.

Great location and fantastic view. Close to the beach and several good restaurants.

The hotel needs refurbishing. The balcony doors and furniture have seen better days. Service was inconsistent - great at breakfast but not at Elements. The Spa staff were constantly on their mobile phones - not a professional look.

Teilweise Affen auf der Terrasse, da musste man drinnen frühstücken- diese hätten mit geringem Aufwand auch verjagt werden können

There is absolutely nothing not to like

Extremely well located, parking and vehicle access is a breeze. The food is fantastic and above all the hospitality from the staff is top class. Rooms, bathrooms and common areas are all spotless.
