The hotel’s location was excellent—hardly a 5-minute walk from the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. There were also plenty of shops and restaurants very close by, which made it extremely convenient for exploring Istanbul. The breakfast was a traditional Turkish breakfast, which was nice to experience, but the buffet was quite small and overall felt average. A little more variety would have made the breakfast much better. Overall, the location was definitely the highlight of our stay.

Я останавливалась в этом прекрасном отеле примерно на 5 дней. Очень уютный и теплый отель с вкусной едой. У нас был номер на троих с прекрасным видом. В номере всегда убирали, когда мы этого хотели. По утрам можно было завтракать с видом на море, что делало наш отдых еще более приятным и незабываемым. От отеля очень легко добраться практически до любой точки Стамбула — рядом есть и автобусные остановки, и трамвайные пути. Но больше всего мне хотелось бы отметить персонал отеля. Очень теплые, дружелюбные и отзывчивые люди. Они не просто выполняют свою работу, а действительно заботятся о гостях: часто спрашивают, всё ли хорошо, и всегда готовы сразу помочь, если что-то нужно. Также хочу отметить, что сотрудники отеля говорят на нескольких языках, что очень удобно и значительно облегчает общение. Спасибо отелю и всему персоналу за прекрасный отдых, теплое отношение и отличный сервис! I stayed at this wonderful hotel for about 5 days. It’s a very cozy and welcoming place with delicious food. We had a room for three with a beautiful view. Our room was always cleaned whenever we wanted. In the mornings, we could enjoy breakfast with a sea view, which made our stay even more special and memorable. The hotel is also very conveniently located — it’s easy to get almost anywhere in Istanbul, with both bus stops and tram lines nearby. But what I would especially like to highlight is the hotel staff. They are incredibly warm, friendly, and helpful. They don’t just do their job — they genuinely care about their guests. They often asked if everything was okay and were always ready to help right away whenever we needed something. I also really appreciated that the staff speak several languages, which makes communication much easier and more convenient. Thank you to the hotel and the entire staff for such a wonderful stay, your warm hospitality, and excellent service!

Camere piccolissime e niente ascensore

De kamer was vrij compact, maar het bed was uitstekend en de douche had een sterk debiet. De airco kon naar believen ingesteld worden (temperatuur/ventilator). Het ontbijt werd geserveerd op het dakterrras met fantastisch uitzicht op de Bosporus. Het ontbijt was behoorlijk gevarieerd. Het personeel was vriendelijk en behulpzaam en kende hun talen (Frans, Engels, ...). Het hotel is op wandelafstand van alle topattracties in de oude stad.

Het ijskastje op de kamer koelde amper.

Nous avons été très bien accueillies par le personnel, qui s'est montré chaleureux, disponible et réactifs à nos demandes. C'est clairement, à nos yeux, le principal atout de cet hôtel.

Nous avons eu l’impression d’avoir été trompées sur la qualité de l’hôtel, car les photos sur booking ne correspondent pas à la réalité. La photo de la façade est particulièrement trompeuse : elle présente un hôtel très fleuri, soigné et semblant dégagé, alors qu’en réalité, l’établissement est collé à plusieurs autres hôtels, dans une petite rue étroite et sans aucune végétation. De même, les photos présentant une vue dégagée sur la mer sont loin de correspondre à la réalité. La chambre est correcte, mais elle mériterait d’être rafraîchie : traces sur les murs, fissures, évacuation de la douche constamment bouchée et, le dernier soir, absence d’eau chaude. La chambre était également assez petite et sombre. Le petit-déjeuner est toutefois ce qui nous a le plus déçues. En voyant les photos, nous nous attendions à un véritable buffet avec beaucoup de choix. En réalité, l’offre est nettement plus limitée. La qualité des produits est correcte, mais cela ne correspond absolument pas à ce qui est présenté sur les photos : il y a facilement trois à quatre fois moins de choix que ce que les images laissent penser. Dans l’ensemble, le séjour reste correct, mais à nos yeux, les prestations et l’état de l’établissement ne correspondent pas au niveau que l’on peut attendre d’un hôtel 4 étoiles. Nous aurions préféré que les photos soient plus représentatives de la réalité afin de pouvoir réserver en connaissance de cause. Nous avions choisi cet hôtel notamment en raison de ses très bons avis et nous avons donc été particulièrement surprises de constater que personne ne mentionne l’écart entre les photos et la réalité, notamment l’utilisation de photos qui semblent avoir été générées ou fortement modifiées par IA. Enfin, nous tenons à signaler qu’après avoir laissé notre note, l’hôtel a directement contacté l’une des personnes ayant séjourné avec nous afin de lui proposer un séjour gratuit en échange d’une meilleure évaluation.

We had a great stay at Ayasofya Hotel in Sultanahmet. The location is perfect, within walking distance of almost all the major attractions in the Old City, including Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. The rooftop restaurant has wonderful views, and the breakfast had a good variety of options. While the rooms are a little dated, they were very clean, tidy and well maintained. The staff were exceptionally friendly, helpful and accommodating. They gave us great advice on sightseeing and were also very helpful in arranging tours and airport transfers. Overall, a comfortable stay in an excellent location with fantastic hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to explore Istanbul’s Old City.

The staff were all wonderful, breakfast was delicious, the location was great, the room was spotless on arrival.

The decoration in the room was very tired, the bathroom in particular needs to be redecorated and cracks in paintwork need to be addressed. The room was not cleaned in the three days we were there.

Hotelul este situat aproape de obiectivele principale, astfel încât poți să ajungi la acestea fără să folosești mijloacele de transport. Camerele sunt curate, atmosfera din hotel este plăcută, personalul este ospitalier, ești așteptat cu ceai și cafea turcească iar micul dejun îl poți lua pe terasa aflată pe acoperiș de unde ai o priveliște superbă spre Marea Marmara.

We loved everything about our stay. The staff were absolutely exceptional—warm, welcoming, attentive and always willing to assist. A special mention must go to the manager, who was superb throughout our stay. Her recommendations were excellent, and she went above and beyond to facilitate all of our requests. We were even accommodated with an early check-in and treated to a complimentary breakfast on our first morning, which was such a thoughtful touch. The hospitality really made our stay memorable.

La habitación es curiosa en su tamaño. Algo estrecha para poder pasar pero es un detalle. Algo importante es que no hay ascensor. Ayudan mucho el personal del hotel con valijas para llevar a pisos superiores.

El personal no puede ser más amable, te hacen la estancia muy agradable. Aparte de eso también nos gustó mucho la azotea que tiene.

Fantastic location. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Istanbul was our last stop and after a very tiring trip it was nice to come to a hotel with such comfortable beds and comfortable room. We are a family of 4 and 2 large bottles of water were complimentary and my son even said the beds were so comfy it was the best sleep he had all trip. Bathroom was a bit dated and could be refreshed a bit but overall everything was super clean which was more important for us. The complimentary breakfast over looking the Bosphorus was beautiful too. What an amazing way to have breakfast!

Personel bardzo pomocny i sympatyczny i jest to niewymuszone. Szczególne podziękowania dla Pani Manager - osoba konkretna, pomocna, zawsze zainteresowana tym,aby pobyt nie tylko w hotelu był udany. Gościnność to wielki plus tego miejsca. Poza tym duży wybór potraw na śniadanie, bardzo dobre ciasta. Plus oczywiście super położenie hotelu przy samym bizantyjskim hipodromie,a więc samo centrum,a śniadania na tatasie z widokiem na morze Marmara.

The room was spacious with plenty of natural light. Beds comfy. The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The rooftop breakfast was definitely a highlight. Location was great. Close to the Blue Mosque and stacks of restaurants.

Our bad - we didn’t check if it had a lift. But the wonderful assistant raced up and down those four flights of stairs with our suitcases like they weighed nothing. And getting ourselves up and down four flights was no big deal.

The location is excellent being close to Hagia Sophia etc, shops & restaurants. The hotel is clean & well maintained, while the staff , who are super friendly, helpful & efficient made us feel very welcome. We also enjoyed a hearty breakfast each morning of our 3 day stay.

This hotel is well located for the Blue Mosque and Hagie Sophia. The breakfast had a great variety, and the view from the rooftop breakfast was of the Bosphorus. All the staff were very pleasant, helpful and welcoming. Amina was very friendly and attentive, and full of great recommendations of what to do and where to go. Thank you for making our family trip to Beautiful Istanbul so special.

Joli petit hôtel au calme,très bien situé par rapport aux sites à visiter. On y trouve tout ce qui est attendu : un excellent accueil avec en plus une charmante hôtesse qui parle français, le confort de la grande et jolie chambre(suite 3 personnes ), le bon petit déjeuner dans un cadre agréable, avec cerise sur le gâteau une très belle vue sur la mer de la salle et du rooftop que nous avons beaucoup apprécié. Pas d'inconvénient, que du plaisir.

The staff are extremely helpful, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. The property sits in a quiet area, yet remains within short walking distance of all major Old Town attractions. Both the bedrooms and the bathrooms maintain an excellent standard of cleanliness. The hotel features very new, modern, and updated interior design. Guests receive complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee, and biscuits throughout their stay. The hotel serves a great breakfast featuring both local Turkish specialties and continental options. The rooftop terrace offers great views and a comfortable outdoor space to relax.

The bedrooms are small, which is typical for historic buildings in this area but can feel tight for travelers with heavy luggage. There is no elevator on the property, making it difficult for guests with mobility restrictions or heavy bags to reach upper floors. The room electricity turns off completely when the keycard is removed, meaning the mini-fridge stops cooling when you leave the room. The television screen is small, and the majority of international channels are blocked.

The Ayasofya Hotel is in the heart of old-town Istanbul within walking distance of many of the tourist sites and with many Turkish restaurants nearby. The staff at Ayasofya were excellent - so friendly, helpful and kind from the moment we arrived and throughout our stay. (And don’t take this for granted in Istanbul - through unfortunate circumstances we have experienced several other hotels in Istanbul this week and Ayasofya stands head and shoulders above others). Indeed, when we had a severe emergency the staff were so helpful and caring (thank you: it helped us through). Our room - the quad - was perfect for our needs with two rooms giving our daughter the privacy of her own room yet still being together. It was smaller than it looks in the photos but very nicely decorated and in a great condition. As an added bonus there’s a roof terrace for breakfast with views over the Bosporus that can be used throughout the day.

Nothing really. The breakfast was excellent but (and no surprise) quite Turkish in its style. There’s no lift given it’s in an old building and the roads all around the area are in a poor condition but specifically re the hotel - it’s excellent.

La atención del personal y su amabilidad

The hotel is nice and close to the main attractions in the old town. The room was comfortable for three people, and the views from the top-floor dining terrace with the sea view were very beautiful. Also, the staff was very helpful during check-in; they allowed us to check in early and even let us have breakfast on our check-in day.

However, we faced a major issue with the location map. The location mentioned on Booking.com is different from the actual location by around 150 meters. I specifically booked this hotel because it looked closer to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia on the map, so this discrepancy caused us a big disappointment. Because of the booking conditions, I also could not cancel it. When I complained, the hotel staff could not satisfy us about this mistake and they were not apologetic either. Also, there is no lift in the facility.

A szállás környezete kellemes, éttermekkel, boltokkal, pénzváltóval a Sultanahmet térhez közel. A T1 villamos (óvároson áthaladó) egy rövid sétával megközelíthető. All the staff were amazing, always helping with anything they can. They help you with information regarding not just sightseeing but also traveling, shopping, helping with your itinerary etc. Rooms were cosy and very clean. Breakfast was very good with a great view from the roof terrace.

Les lits doubles très petits pour deux personnes, les chambres vraiment petites limite étouffante, les couvertures aussi très petite. Sur booking les photos montre une vu incroyable sur la mer depuis la terrasse du restaurant mais malheureusement la vu n’était pas du tout comme sur la photo. La vu était plus sur les toitures délabré et on voit de loin la mer.

We had a very pleasant stay at Hotel Ayasofya. The hotel is located in a great area, within easy walking distance of the main attractions, yet it remains remarkably quiet, allowing for a good night's sleep. The room was comfortable, spotless, and very well maintained. Housekeeping standards were excellent throughout our stay. We were traveling with an elderly family member, and the staff were especially attentive and considerate. Their kindness, patience, and willingness to help made the stay much easier and more enjoyable for our entire group. The breakfast was very good, and the staff were exceptionally accommodating. If there was something specific we needed or preferred, they were always happy to help and provide it whenever possible. This personalized attention made us feel especially well cared for. What really made the difference was the hospitality of the entire team. Every employee we interacted with was friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful, making us feel welcome from arrival to departure. Overall, Hotel Ayasofya offers an excellent combination of comfort, cleanliness, location, and outstanding service. We would happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Istanbul.

What made it special is that Dena was outstanding helpful and she takes time with customer to make them at ease and make them comfortable she is very caring loving and absolutely a gem she is highly professional polite always smiling and helpful if it wasn’t for us meeting her I wouldn’t be as happy as I am now she s amazing don’t feel like going I m touched by her

The Ayasofya Hotel-Special Class was outstanding for our stay in Istanbul! The staff was extremely helpful with airport transfers and recommendations, and the breakfast was fantastic each morning— so many options, and Ece and the breakfast team went above and beyond preparing Turkish coffees and chatting with all the guests, we felt very special and well looked after! The quadruple room for our family of 4 was perfect— both bedrooms were large, had sitting areas and closets which was very comfortable. There was a large shower, plenty of hot water and everything was very clean (as well as great air conditioning!) The location was fantastic— close to the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia and it was easy to get to other parts of the city using the trams! Would definitely stay again if we return to Istanbul!

We absolutely loved our stay at Ayasofya hotel. The staff especially Farit was sooo nice and always greeted us with a smile. Every single person, from the manager lady in the breakfast area and the amazing chef who fed us delicious breakfast every morning and the guy who was at the reception in the evening (forgot his name) were soo kind. They all made us feel home. We will definitely come back if we visit Istanbul again and highly recommend it to everyone.

Emplacement parfait à 10 mn à pied des sites à visiter, des bars et restaurants. Petit hôtel très calme, cosy, très propre. La terrasse sur le Bosphore très appréciée pour les petits déjeuners très copieux et variés. Et...le personnel extrêmement accueillant et agréable, en plus Amina et Donia parlent parfaitement français, ce qui est génial. L'accueil est exceptionnel. Allez-y les yeux fermés.
