It is a beautiful home with a lovely, tastefully decorated interior and warm, homey feeling.

Everything was perfect!

The garden!! It was absolutely gorgeous. And same with the interior. Everything was so carefully decorated and you can tell Minke and Gerald have put their hearts into the house. Breakfast was fantastic and was way better than any restaurant.

That we didn’t stay longer.

The friendliness and striving to please us was wonderful! The breakfast was lovely …we did not ask what was involved and it was very nice. Unfortunately, not realizing to ask what the main dish we got omelette with mushrooms. I am sure we could have had a boiled egg but did not think to ask for that…Minke was so accommodating…

Diese Unterkunft ist so ganz anders, als man es sonst gewohnt ist – und genau das macht sie so besonders. Hier wurde wirklich alles mit ganz viel Liebe und Herz hergerichtet. Der wunderschöne Garten mit seinen herrlichen Blumen ist einfach traumhaft und kaum in Worte zu fassen. Leider konnten wir nur eine Nacht hier verbringen, aber wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Die Gastgeber waren unglaublich herzlich, offen und zuvorkommend, sodass wir uns sofort willkommen und wohlgefühlt haben. Und das Frühstück hat dem Ganzen noch einmal die Krone aufgesetzt – liebevoll zubereitet und einfach köstlich. Vielen, vielen Dank für diese wunderbare Gastfreundschaft! Für uns war es der perfekte Abschluss unserer Kanadareise. ❤️

Beautifully restored heritage house with glorious colourful gardens. The hosts are warm and welcoming, lovely people. The location is quiet but convenient to visit and explore District 1881 and Chilliwack downtown. Breakfast, served in the dining room is plentiful and amazing. Our favourite B&B!

It was beautiful. Beautiful gardens and their home is a step back in time. The bedroom is very private with such a nice morning light. There is also a private bathroom with an old claw foot tub and sitting room. We had a lovely breakfast in the morning. It was truly a unique and memorable place to stay.

Alles wirklich top. Die Zimmer- das Haus- der Garten- die Veranda- der Kater😄 eine echte Perle auf unserer Reise. Sollte nur ein 2 Tage Stopp sein, war aber ein Highlight. Und Chilliwack selbst ein prima chilliger Ort mit der alten Häuserzeile.toll! Das Frühstück 1a, der Kaffee noch besser👍danke an die Timmermanns!

The owners were fantastic. They were very friendly and gave us useful information on restaurants and walks in the area. The breakfast we had on the 2 days were varied, healthy and very tasty, keeping us going until evening meal.

Minka und Gerald sind wunderbare Gastgeber und versuchen, jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Wir hatten den ganzen oberen Stock für uns allein. Das Haus ist liebevoll renoviert worden und wurde mit äußerster Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. So schön, die alte Zeit zu erleben.

Je kijkt je ogen uit in dit prachtige huis. Het voelt alsof je in een museum slaapt. Minke en Gerald zorgen ervoor dat je je helemaal thuis voelt. Heerlijk ontbijt. Voor ons een mooie laatste nacht voor de terugvlucht vanuit Vancouver.

Atmosphere is excellent. You feel such comfort just driving into parking lot! Food was delicious. Home owners are wonderful people. A real get away tucked back off the path of busy. Very relaxing!

Absolutely delightful, whimsical and warm decor. Charming little touches everywhere. Thoughtful provisions throughout. The upstairs parlour is very welcoming, with coffee and tea and sweets. The new-old fully remodeled bathroom is spacious and fully-equipped, with double sink, delightful shower, and even a clawfoot tub. Minke's warmth and care extends most deliciously to her innovative and five-star breakfasts, each of which was a fresh delight, in a beautifully-appointed dining-living area overlooking the well-tended and whimsical garden and the creekbank, complete with busy waterfowl and a stately willow. The location is closely convenient to the charming downtown village area as well as area routes. When available, we have declared to ourselves that quite simply, there is no other place to stay in Chilliwack, period.

The Hazelhouse was far beyond anything i could have imagined. My best friend and I had been camping the last 15 days, and had decided to treat ourselves to comfort in the form of a bed and breakfast for our last night. Not only were the hosts super accommodating about our very late check in, the space was so inviting, the bed extremely soft and comfy, and the amenities were luxurious. Breakfast was also a lovely highlight, accompanied by their friendly cat. We are already planning our next trip and I will definitely stay here again!

Het was een ontzettend leuk, historisch huis. Alles straalde sfeer uit. De ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk. Ontbijt was heel erg lekker, met zorg en zelf klaar gemaakt. Vers en al.

The breakfast was amazing, the most delicious omelette and fruits on the first morning , followed by an amazing Dutch breakfast the second morning. Minka was so helpful and friendly.

Perfect homemade breakfast - beautiful stay - friendly a very nice hosts - The Hazelhouse is like a small museum. Wonderful interior and perfectly maintained garden. Thank you Minka and Gerald. And not to forget: FELIX, the cat. :)

You could not have asked for friendlier hosts. This couple were both, amazing to deal with, so nice and helpful, we could not have been happier. Thank you both so very much, it was more like visiting family then it was staying at a B&B.

We were the only guests staying that night otherwise the only thing that might have bothered me was sharing a washroom. But even that won't stop us from going back !

The house itself is lovely. It shows that the owners really put a lot of care into creating and maintaining a beautiful environment. The hosts were friendly, made us feel very welcome in their home, and at the same time gave us a lot of privacy. The breakfast was amazing.

Unser Aufenthalt im The Hazelhouse war wirklich schön! Das Badezimmer war sauber und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Das Bett war sehr bequem – wir haben wunderbar geschlafen. Die Gastgeber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und herzlich, wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Besonders gefreut haben wir uns über die niedliche Katze, die dem Haus eine besondere Atmosphäre verleiht.

What an absolute treat it was to stay at Hazelhouse. From the moment we arrived, Minke made us feel so very welcome. The house and gardens are simply stunning. Spotlessly clean in a quiet location by the river but very convenient to town. And the breakfast…absolutely delicious!! Highly recommend staying at this beautiful B&B.

The house and grounds are stunning and so well looked after. Built in 1914, the house is a marvel of the renovations and decorations of the owners and the property is at the end of a road, and bordered by a small river which makes it very private and quiet.

I love Hazel House. It felt like home. Gerald and Minke were wonderful hosts. Minke’s breakfasts were amazing. The house is vintage and full of beautiful antiques. The gardens are lovely. It’s only a short distance to town. I highly recommend the Hazel House.

My grandma and Istayed here while she was down visiting, and we were blown away. This was easily the best place we stayed! Its like a step back in time in the best way possible.The breakfast/sitting area were so peaceful and comforting. The scenery outside the house is stunning. The couple is just lovely. And the food! Just awesome! Would recommend this little time capsule to anyone! P.s Felix will steal your heart❤️

At first glance one is greeted by a most impressive gardens .The grounds are magical and peaceful.The magnificent old house has been loving restored. Very comfortable bed . Yummy breakfast. The hosts are delightful .

Graciously received by the owner, Minke on arrival to this beautiful property. Located next to a beautiful river with gardens full of flowers. 110 year-old house is eclectic, magnificent, enticing, wanting you to stay longer.

Our comfy room and sitting room, delicious hearty breakfasts, and naturally hospitable host made this a very pleasant stay.

I think the bathroom would have been shared if we hadn't been the only ones there at the time. My mistake in not noticing but that wouldn't have been preferred by us.

Location was very safe and quiet. Hosts were very friendly and obviously passionate. House and garden were very clean and tiny, and the Christmas decorations were amazing. Bedroom was old and a bit cold but that's to be expected for an old house, yet the bathroom is very well renovated.

Bedroom was a bit cold (but they provide extra blankets and an electric heater) and the fuse go off easily if you use too many devices at the same time, but it's to be expected since it's an old house.

This place is PHENOMENAL, I would rate it 1000000/10 if I could, seriously. The couple that owns the place is very friendly, welcoming, and hospitable, and the place they have is BEAUTIFUL 😍 As a solo female travel I was worried about where I would stay, but I felt so safe here, and it’s in a wonderful part of chiliwack!! The views are STUNNING, and there were so many little things provided that I never expected (like bubble bath, milk for my tea, and so much more). PLEASE if you’re debating what place to book, let this be your sign to chose the HazleHouse Inn

A very warm welcome from Minka. A beautiful old house with beautiful gardens. A very hearty breakfast was served.

I didn't appreciate that the bathroom wasn't ensuite. It didn't matter to us as we were the only guests.

Unique and charming property, we had the whole upper floor to ourselves. Minke was an exceptional hostess and so welcoming, there were hot and cold refreshments in a fridge in our sitting room, which were very welcome in the hot weather. Absolutely loved sitting out on the veranda on the swing and rocking chair just reading and chilling. Breakfast was also delicious and freshly cooked. A spotlessly clean property with beautiful rooms and garden.

The creativity that went into all the furnishings and decor and gardens is exceptional. They seem to have thought of everything. The whole place has a very fun and nostalgic feel, but with modern features where most appreciated, such as with the bathroom fixtures. And the breakfast was delicious and extremely well-prepared. The host has a natural way of making you feel very welcome!

We stayed for five days, the breakfasts were different every day and were very much appreciated. The heritage house is beautifully furnished, and the garden is spectacular. The large bathroom is new, and includes both a shower and bathtub. The house is situated in a quiet neighbourhood, but only five minutes from downtown Chilliwack The host and hostess are great people, very helpful and welcoming

No air-conditioning, but the owners did their best to make it comfortable with a fan and an air-conditioning unit blowing in the up stairs from.another room.

Beautiful older home in immaculate condition and tastefully upgraded. Hosts very friendly and breakfast most enjoyable, made better by pretty surroundings and beautiful garden.

Day temperatures reached 32 degrees so made the upstairs room slow to cool down. Host stated they will install a/c.

The Hazelhouse was a little piece of heaven! It was more than comfortable - it was like going back in time and being cared for by family. The grounds are gorgeous and immaculate. And breakfast was delicious! Minke and Gerald love sharing this beautiful property and it shows! We highly recommend this B&B for your trip to Chilliwack.

I will do this review in English, because I hope more people in Canada will read this and book a night 'or more' at this wonderful B&B. It is a fully renovated beautiful heritage house, over 100 years old. Strange thing is it doesn't show, but then again it does? When you enter here it's like you've stepped to a time portal 100 years back. But it has all the modern amenities. It's a warm cozy house, just like the owners. When you stay here you have the use of the whole first floor ; a bedroom, sitting room and a bathroom. Again, everything is in 1900 style, but with a bed that is better than my own! In the morning you get your breakfast in the giant living room downstairs, where you can really soak up the atmospheer look out into the beautiful garden, while you have a more than great breakfast! Excellence is really the word here! One thing left to do... win the lottery and buy it! ( Because it's mine! ;-) )

This beautiful family home is set in lovely gardens in a quit area of Chilliwack yet convenient for eating out and re-joining the highway. On arrival we received a warm welcome from our host and were shown to a lovely bedroom with sitting room and bathroom attached. The house is spacious and tastefully furnished and our bed was very comfortable ensuring a great sleep. The whole house was spotlessly clean. In the morning we had a tasteful breakfast which set us up for the day.

Breakfast was delicious. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection!

Wish there was a lock on the bedroom door.

The hostess went over and above to accommodate our needs. The historical house was amazing everywhere you looked. The location was close to our event, yet was back away from busy streets.

I almost hesitate to write a review as I fear my words will not be able to do it justice. My boyfriend and I booked The Hazelhouse for a little weekend getaway and although from previous reviews we had high expectations, nothing could prepare us for just how truly wonderful it was. Minke was without a doubt the best host we have ever had, the attention to detail and care that she puts into ensuring a positive stay is out of this world. The room we stayed, the living room and bathroom are all large, so well taken care of and breathtakingly beautiful. The breakfast each morning was on par with any fancy restaurant with the most beautiful setting overlooking the mountains, river and fireplace. Our biggest takeaway from the whole trip though, was just how much Minke loves what she does, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone so passionate about being a BnB host and it truly shows in the quality of the stay, everywhere was spotless, decorated perfectly and was made to make our stay as comfortable as possible. This heritage home is an absolute must stay and I will be telling everyone who will listen that they must go and experience it.

It’s nestled next to Hope River with views of the mountains and an easy walk to the historic 1881 district. The hosts were very kind and hospitable. The building it self is so beautiful and quaint! The common areas are gorgeous. The breakfast was amazing. My wife loved the claw foot bathtub! Thoughtfully planed landscaping.

No plugs near bedside tables to charge phone, Apple Watch or AirPods. Bed frame was lose and made noise when shifting around during the night 😉

The owner is very welcoming. The house is clean, warm, and well thoughtout. It's a historical house which is decorated with unique antique pieces. She has a spare reading room with books. There's a mini fridge, coffee, and tea available. In the bathroom you have a shower, tub and double sinks. Minke (owner) prepared and served a lovely breakfast for us in the morning to start our day off right.

I enjoyed everything.

The service was fantastic, letting me arrive very late. The breakfast was great, and the decor was so cool!

Breakfast was superb. A charming breakfast table set with Crystal glasses for juice and Dutch style china. The presentation was enchanting. Hospitality is alive here with a lazy river view and a cozy heritage style fireplace. Just what I needed!

This is the best B and B I have stayed for many years. Everything about it is excellent, from the amenities provided, the house decorations and the garden maintenance. The breakfast was great and the host and hostess very friendly and accommodating. It is a heritage house and a very special place, situated in a quite area of the city.

I really like the decorations which are old-fashioned. We had the access to the entire second floor and there are a living room, a bathroom and a bedroom. We had the maximum privacy in this property.
