Mount Elegance

Very friendly hosts who made tasty breakfast for us, were hospitable and arranged a car to Horton Plains as well as Ambewela station. When we ran into the hosts at the supermarket, they offered to take us back home. The bed was very comfortable and the shower pressure was decent. Handy that we could put some stuff in the fridge and could use the kitchen to heat up our food in the microwave and eat it there too. The free snacks upon arrival were a cute bonus.

For this price (quite higher than average so far) we hoped for a bigger room and some more storage space. We had to get creative in storing our stuff in the bedroom and bathroom since there weren't many shelves or hooks. The wifi was glitchy. Laundry service (of course for a fee) and some seats on the balcony would have been nice. Of course we'd already seen the distance to the center but the area itself really wasn't nice. Fortunately tuktuks were easily available.

Alles einfach perfekt Abgerundet. Besitzer super lieb und Hilfsbereit!

I really enjoyed my stay at Mount Elegance Hotel. The staff were warm and attentive, the food was delicious, and the views of the mountains were breathtaking. The rooms were clean and cozy, making it a perfect place to relax after the area.

Good place. Good service. I suggest you go and see it too

Excellent service

Nice location

Service is good and comparable rooms

Had an amazing stay. Owners are super nice and helpful. Great room, great breakfast, 100% recommend

This was a lovely place. Clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful and the hosts were extremely accommodating. They are responsive an speak great english. There are 2 units in the house, they have a separate entrance and share a common living room. The kitchen is also just down the hall, but it is not the family kitchen (they dont cook there, but they do use the fridge I think). The kitchen are is where breakfast is served. You may also make yourself tea or coffee there. The house itself is within walking distance of several restaurants as well as the lake.

Nothing it was perfect

Everything was amazing 🤩 clean and quiet place👌 delicious breakfast 😍 special thanks to Timal and his wife for his warm hospitality and kindness 🙏

The room was very nice and cozy, making for a comfortable stay. The family running the hotel was welcoming and kind, and the breakfast was good. Since we only stayed for one night, it’s hard to say more, but our short experience was positive!

The hotel was quite far from the city, so getting there might be tricky without a car or tuk-tuk. However, since we had a car, it wasn’t an issue for us. The only small downside was that the shower took a long time to heat up, which was a bit inconvenient.

Very helpfull host. Know good restaurants and places to visit

The room was clean and comfortable and the hosts were very friendly.

The neighbourhood doesn’t look very good.

Very clean and cosy room. Good value for money

It was cold in the room, but owner gave us second blanket

We had a really nice stay at Mount Elegance. Melanie was really sweet and made sure we have everything we needed and gave us some good recommendations. Thanks again!

My husband and I visited Mount Elegance for one evening in January (2025). The property was clean and comfortable with a lovely homely feel, as well as excellent WiFi. What we loved most though was how welcoming Tamil and Melanie were. Honestly the couple are the loveliest people, and we really enjoyed their company. We would highly recommend this property for your stay in Nuwura Eliya

Incredible hospitality, lovely comfortable beds, clean and modern bathroom, great view and delicious breakfasts!

Nothing

clean and comfortable small room, nice bathroom; big windows and light in the room; good breakfast

it is a room in a shared flat with the owner, you basically live with the owners which are nice and very quiet BUT it’s a room in their flat and you have breakfast in their small kitchen. it is overpriced (all of Nuwara Eliya is!) and it’s far from the Center which is ok as it’s very loud! the balcony has no chairs and the view is there but really nothing special!

Lovely breakfast. Nice location.

Trees blocked mountain view from bedroom.

Really welcoming hosts. Clean and comfortable room and bathroom facilities. Hot shower welcome on a cold day.

Bit far out of town but I had a driver with me so all good. It was a beautiful setting looking over the lake and mountains.

We didn’t realise when booking it was a share house However the owners more than made us feel comfortable.

Walking among the tea plantations and small farms in the early morning sunrise. Amazing views.

The room and bathroom were both very clean and modern. The shower and bed were both warm, which was welcome as it was a bit cold outside. The host is very friendly and the breakfast is amazing! Can definitely recommend.

EXCELLENT BREAKFAST. WARM WELCOME WITH FLOWERS WORTH FOR MONEY.

Breakfast was really good and the room was clean. The area was quiet and the owners are super nice.

Clean and comfortable room, nice bathroom, very friendly hosts, great breakfast.

The WiFi often didn’t work.

The owners were extremely kind and helpful. They provided us breakfast for our trip to Horton's Plains and helped us arrange transportation.

The location is quite a bit out of town (5 km, approx 10 minutes on Tuk)

I have traveled a lot, but have never met such attentive hosts. The room is clean, tidy, there is hot water. It is cold in the mountains at night, but the hosts thoughtfully offer extra blankets. Large and very tasty breakfast. We couldn’t even eat everything) They are always in connect with you, ready to advise and help. Very pleasant and sincere people to communicate with. We spent only one night, but in the morning we left them as if we were leaving family. It even became a little sad. I highly recommend this wonderful hospitable family!

It is a little far out of town but can get a tuk tuk!

My stay at Mount Elegance in Nuwara Eliya was truly exceptional. The hostess, Mrs. Melanie, was extraordinarily caring and helpful, attending to every detail to ensure our comfort. Her willingness to wake up at 4 AM to prepare delicious breakfasts was especially commendable. I wholeheartedly recommend Mount Elegance to anyone visiting Nuwara Eliya, for a stay marked by exceptional hospitality and comfort.

The place was very tidy, the owner helped us with our trip to the World's end route. The food was delicious.

It was great experience..feel like a home... they were like friends...nothing to worry..very clean and comfortable room..other facilities also good....food also delicious..they gave guidance for plan our whole trip..it was really helpful to us..thank you Melani and ayya for your support

Nothing

Great location, extra friendly host, excellent breakfast, perfect views! Room is 10/10 and has extra balcony, good for seeing the mountains. Have their own tuktuk.

a bit far from the city centre, but it is peaceful

A really nice view, the staff was friendly and all the facility arrangements were exceptional. Rooms were clean and tidy.

Nothing…. 😊

Melanie and her family are so welcoming and friendly. They even put fresh flowers in my room as soon as I arrived. Makes incredible and well prepared Sri Lankan breakfast. Really goes out of their way for whatever you need. The location is up on a hill with beautiful views. The neighbourhood isn't located near amenities so it's a 10 / 15 minute walk to the local shops at the bottom of the hill. Call for a tuk tuk or taxi if you want to go anywhere. They will arrange for you.

Beautiful property in nature with excellent hospitality and food. We enjoyed breakfast. The room and bathroom was very clean and comfortable. The view is spectacular. Wifi worked well. Will recommend the place to my friends.

Me and my family visited this place recently. the place is perfect and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast also very delicious and rooms are so comfortable clean and tidy. I recommend this place as an amazing place.
