The property and location were beautiful, and the host was very helpful and kind to us.
Everything was great :)

This was one of the best holidays we have ever had! The cabin was perfect and we had all we needed to cook for ourselves which is a bonus. A breeze off the lake and plenty of windows kept it cool in the heatwave and the hammock and sofa in the shelter were a bonus. There is a proper bathroom with a great shower. Our host Patrick was wonderful, he lives out of sight up the drive and the cabin felt private. He was very responsive to messages and so helpful. The views of the lake, sky and mountains were stunning, with a resident heron, friendly cows, rabbits, swans and swallows. It was a 15 minute drive to local villages for food, coffee and shopping. Cong is a delightful village with the Quiet Man Museum, historic Cong Abbey, nature woodland walks and the luxury Ashford Castle Hotel with high quality restaurants for a treat. We visited Galway for views of the bay, traditional music and gift shopping. The coastal town of Clifden, Kylemore Abbey with amazing kitchen garden and the wild Atlantic Way are an accessible drive away. We had lots of sunny days and loved our swims in the lake, but even in the rain we were cosy and snug. Highly recommend for a quiet getaway that feels a bit like glamping, with no risk of rain in the tent!
The cabin very well equipped. It was impeccably clean and fit out is high quality. A beautifully strong hot shower and loads of coffee pods for the coffee machine. The views are also extraordinary. Perfect for a one (I booked it alone) or for a couple.
No issues for me. Really pleasant.
Everything was as stated. Perfect host, very clean, great base and Clonbur is a lovely friendly village. The shower is excellent and the facilities are also excellent, including a lovely view and a good barbecuing area. Patrick apologised for the noise from Farm machinery but we a really heard nothing. It is a Farming area so we expected it, but honestly heard nothing. Comfortable bed and airy chalet.
There is no Washing Machine or TV. To myself and my partner this wasn't an issue . Possibly bring a Laptop or I pad as the WiFi is superb. There is a Launderette in Ballinrobe. We just rinsed things by hand and there is ample drying space. This certainly isn't a criticism as neither are stated as present on the Facilities Menu. We would certainly come again. 10 out of 10.
This cabin was a lovely start of our holidays. The cabin is small, but has all you need plus the extra outside seating is great as it takes the wind out and gives you an extra ‘room’. The owner was very helpful and welcoming. There were coffee pods for the coffee machine which I especially appreciate as we had at least four different coffee machines during the holidays all needing different types of coffee(pods). The owner also gave us a charger for our electric toothbrush as we realised we forgot ours. He happened to have one and was happy to give it to us. The view from the cabin is beautiful and there is a great hike around mount Gable and a lovely pub (Burke’s) in Clonbur. It’s also an hours drive to the national park and we visited the loch measc distillery in a 30-minute drive.
The bed was a little bit too soft for my liking.
Absolutely everything
Nothing everything was fantastic
The view. The coziness. The host.
The cooker. The shower ran cold..
L'emplacement est à couper le souffle ! Se reveiller tous les matins devant le lac et les montagnes était un vrai bonheur. Patrick est aux petits soins. C'est très agréable.
Rien, c'etait parfait pour nous !
Great accommodations, views, and hosts.
The location was beautiful and so quiet. The cabin was spotless and finished to a high standard. The owner welcomed us once we arrived and was happy to send us some locations for nice walks, which we done and they where all stunning, with forests, mountains and lakes. Village of Cong only 15 min drive. We will definately be back again, well worth the 4 hr 30 min drive from belfast.
Nothing
Perfect little retreat. Amazing views. I couldn’t say enough about it. It has to be experienced.
Super cute and modern cabin located alongside a beautiful lake. Private location with a great view. The cabin is super practical inside and offers all comfort for 2 people. Also the host is very welcoming and available for help or questions.
Nothing. We were sad we had to go .
The views are amazing. It's a perfect spot to just relax and take a break from work and everyday stress. It's so quiet and peaceful, and the comments that talk about the hosts property being close are just complaining, really not that close at all. You have full privacy. The host was really friendly and helpful. I'm recommending to all my friends and family, and I'll definitely be back again. Thanks a lot for this perfect gateway trip. Patrick, you're the man!

Totally peaceful and tranquil, beautiful spot. Would have been great to stay a few extra days to really enjoy BBQ and swimming in the Lake.
Sehr netter Gastgeber.
This little cabin near the shore of the lough was very private and relaxing. The scenery from all windows of the cabin as well as from the attached deck was unsurpassed. My stay here felt like a vacation within my vacation. One rainy day I stayed inside reading, drinking tea, and watching the light and weather change — it was one of the most memorable days of my trip! I also loved the cows, who showed up each evening around sunset to say hello, as well as the fox who would trot by occasionally and the birds. The host was very helpful, checking in each day by text to see if I needed anything.
There is nothing I did not like, but travelers should be aware that this is not in or near a village and it is a bit of a drive to a pub or small store. It would be wise to bring food supplies when coming as noted in the description, the cabin is small: it was perfect for me alone, but might be a bit tight for a couple if the weather keeps you indoors.
Extraordinary lake and mountain views, very cozy cabin and great communication with our host.
The wildlife by the lake- saw an otter and hares
The cabin was in a great location. It was secluded enough to be peaceful but was only a short to drive to the town. All the little touches made it a great place to stay
The location was perfect if you want a getaway to just disconnect from the rest of the world. And the visits from the sheep were fabulous!! Plus getting to listen to the sounds of the lake was beautiful.
Absolutely nothing, I saw reviews saying it was close to his house which made me a bit apprehensive but when we arrived we noticed it was actually far enough away that you don’t even notice.
Stunning location overlooking Lough Mask. Beautiful, cosy hut. No detail was spared, down to the small cereal boxes and milk in the fridge. Amazing use of available space with plenty of storage in 3 big drawers under the bed. The 2 Plate stovetop, small oven and fridge are perfectly proportioned if you want to cook. The outside space is well thought out with gas bbq, couch and hammock under string lights. We stayed 2 nights and cooked on the bbq both nights. The weather wasn't great but the covered outdoor space provided perfect shelter. Eventhough the main house is only a stone's throw away, this hut is very private and feels secluded as it is lower down a laneway, right at the edge of the lake and not overlooked. Cows and sheep are your neighbours and we even saw a rabbit and fox.
This is more a personal preference but it would be practical if they opted for small side tables rather than boxed headboard so that you can move around the bed.
If your looking for a quiet get away this is the place. Patrick made it easy to find and the cabin is very warm, clean and comfortable. The views are unmatched. I spent 2 nights and will be back again.
