I needed, by agreement to drop off a bag but there was no one in reception which was closed at 8:30 am. Worse no one picked up the phone - person (Kylie) said they had been driving back from Nelson so could not answer.

Reviewed Apr 1, 2026Good location, close to shops, fuel station and pub/restaurant and a 15-20 minute drive to the local seal colony. Good facilities in the rooms and great lounge area too. Free parking just outside the room.
Carpets in room a bit tired and worn. Not linked to hotel but for info, local bars and restaurants / take aways all close fairly early (some 7 or 8pm) so after arriving early evening, we nearly couldn't find anything to eat.

Lack of cooking appliances. No hot plate or pots. Not everyone wants to dine out. The gardens outside need a good clean out and the porch swept more often and outdoor furniture cleaned. Would prefer not to be met at reception by teenager in PJ'S.. not a good look.

Small shower, hard double bed & the 2 dining room chairs, both bottom seats were sunken in. Tried to book us a bottom storey appartment but could only get an upstairs one, pretty hard on us as we both have knee & leg problems

The only thing I would say lets it down is the distinct lack of power points available in the room. Nothing around the bed or desk area from what I could see without moving the bed. Frustrating but not a huge issue.

Reviewed Jul 4, 2025We liked the location and the staff were very accommodating when we wanted to change our room to the one originally booked. It was lovely and clean and the pillows were great.
They have permanent 'guests' living there with a large dog. On arrival we were next door to the doggo, who was gorgeous but didn't like us being there and was growling. I didn't like this and we asked to change which the girls sorted and were lovely about it. Also the other tenant had a guest who was smoking and it wafted all through our room but changing rooms sorted us nicely. Not probably somewhere I'd stay for multiple nights but a nice one or two nighter.

It could have been a bit cleaner, and the bed was a little too firm for one of us.
