Reviewed Jan 7, 2026My husband and I enjoyed the cleanliness, the view to the river and the frequent visits by Rosie the red Labrador. I was lucky enough to walk Rosie along the Clive river. Special touches like the fresh fruit, vegetables, milk and cereal on the kitchen bench were lovely.
Nothing to dislike about this property.

Reviewed Dec 6, 2025Great location, peaceful and pretty. Breakfast was adequate, enjoyed the fresh fruit, milk, bread & bottle of wine - a bonus. Comfy place, nice covered verandah to BBQ. Great for 2 day stay, but longer would need more storage for clothing & bags etc. Bathroom goodies, appreciated; toothbrush/ soaps/ shampoo etc. Coffee plunger , great. Would definitely recommend this lovely venue & location.

Reviewed Mar 4, 2025Quiet riverside position, bikes to use in bike friendly flat terrain, we road to clifton for coffee and cake at Hygge, very friendly on site owners with a very well appointed self contained suite. Cafes and restaurants within an easy walk.

Reviewed Feb 16, 2025I loved my stay at riverside. The host was beautiful and amazing, the space was super cute, clean and comfortable for two. Continental breakfast was insane, and so unexpected. YUM! Loved watching the fish jump out of the river, it was so peaceful. A little slice of heaven. Rosie the red lab was a gorgeous companion, and very welcoming to wake up to every morning. So many things to do, if I wasn't so busy I would have loved to use the cute bike and have a paddle on the river. Wow it was amazing. A home away from home. Thank you guys so much, will definitely be back if you'll have me!

The hang of the curtains need attention. Off the hooks in places or not covering the window area properly.

Reviewed Feb 13, 2024We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this accommodation. It's completely independent, and waking up to the lake view outside the room's blinds was truly delightful. The deck outside the room, equipped with a BBQ grill and seating, provided the perfect spot for us to enjoy breakfast while admiring the picturesque lake views, setting the tone for a poetic and scenic day ahead. The availability of kayaks by the lake, generously offered by the host upon our arrival, added an extra layer of enjoyment to our stay. Although we didn't have the chance to explore the area on the bikes provided due to our packed schedule, we appreciated the thoughtful amenities. Overall, the view was excellent, and the location was convenient, with both Napier and Hastings being approximately a 20-minute drive away.
