Complimentary car charging. Shower. Lighting choices. Quiet.
Uncomfortable bed. Horrible sausages.

Beautiful spacious room overlooking the gardens. Vèy peaceful. The bedroom was fitted out with top quality fitted furniture. The room was immaculately clean and peaceful. Breakfast was a self serv buffet with a very good range of delicious offerings.
I'm a short person so I found the bed and loo a bit high for me, but that is so often the way as buildings are often fitted out by men who are usually taller than women. Otherwise it was easily one if the best places we've ever stayed in.
Amazing hotel, location and staff
Nothing!
This was our third stay at the property. We love it.
Nothing
Excellent location right next to the Abbey. Room was very comfortable with an excellent shower. We ate at the onsite restaurant and had the pizza with vegan cheese and it was lovely, we were very happy. Great choice of local drinks. Continental breakfast was fine, no complaints. Would stay again
Not the hotels fault but there was no water in the village the morning we left which made things a little difficult and wasn’t really acknowledged by the staff
A gem of a hotel, set in the beautiful grounds of Buckfast Abbey. Ample free parking. Friendly and efficient welcome, lovely room, everything was spotlessly clean. Excellent meal in the on site restaurant, and delicious continental breakfast included in room rate We just stayed one night en route to Plymouth to catch ferry, but would happily stay longer.
Nothing to dislike
There was a good selection on the continental breakfast. If the staff saw anything had run out they topped it up quite quickly. I let the team know I have a garlic intolerance before we arrived. Joseph in the restaurant let me know what I could eat off the menu in the evening. Penny on reception was extremely friendly. April in the restaurant along with Joseph and a young lady we did not get her name gave excellent service. Housekeeping team very friendly and great at what they do. Room 11 very clean and fresh.
More choice on the menu in the evening for someone with a garlic intolerance. Very limited in what I could eat. Lack of handle in shower area for someone unsteady and a shelf toiletries in shower area.
The tranquility and beautiful surroundings. Exceptional qN/Auality cold buffet breakfast and porridge on request. A very calming experience within the Abbey grounds, coffee shops, gift shop and free entry into the Abbey. Tea & coffee tray in the room a bonus and outside seating with views on the second floor roof area.

The staff and the spar facility .
The room was very hot even with the fan. We have a dog so breakfast was a bit of a walk.
Lovely wooden furnishing in the room. The staff were exceptional and the continental breakfast was very good.
Unfortunately the mattress on the bed was too firm, however when it was mentioned to reception a mattress topper was provided.
Breakfast was fine with lovely staff
Dinner menu very limited we couldn't stay for long as not enough choice for us to eat.
Great room with excellent buffet breakfast.
Restaurant disappointing.
Everything. Lovely comfortable room, great location, great food and friendly staff. Would definitely come again.
Nothing
The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice. We opted to have a full English, which was presented nicely and freshly prepared. It would have been nice to have the option of a smaller size - 1 egg, 1 bacon, 1 sausage instead of 2.
Unfortunately the hot water urn wasn’t quite hot enough. It may be it had only just been refilled when we came down.
Beautiful buffet breakfast in spacious and relaxing dining room. Wonderful friendly staff at reception, comfortable bedrooms, lovely gardens and trees
Excellent location full of history in the Abbey
I think the only ‘observation’ for us is the pillows in the bedroom extremely hard so needs another option
We liked the proximity to the Abbey. We only had an overnight stop on our way to Devon but would certainly stay again for longer . The restaurant was good, with quick service.
We did not find anything to dislike.
Das Frühstück war super, die Lage auch,

Everything! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the rooms were comfortable and the food from the restaurant was superb and huge portions!
Spotlessly clean, comfortable and peaceful in incredible location.
Period property, wonderful room

Everything!
Very quiet and peaceful, even though just off the A38, so a very convenient stop on our way to Salcombe. Buckfast Abbey literally on the doorstep to have a wander around. Very close to an electric charging station The food was good, and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were spotless and modern, with a really good shower.
Nothing
Location is very quiet and peaceful. Staff very helpful. Continental breakfast was good. Everywhere was clean and tidy.
Double bed was too small for two adults. Room could be more spacious. No air con, only one small table fan. No hot breakfast. At £117 per night for a basic double room, the room was overpriced.
Everything! We stayed with our two dogs, room was clean, bed was comfy and had everything we needed for our one night stay. Staff were really friendly and helpful. I was able to walk the dogs on the grounds safely and around the abbey. Would definitely stay here again
Nothing...just wished I was staying longer than one night!
We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the following morning was delicious. All the staff were welcoming and efficient.
The most beautiful stay, with kind, caring staff, delicious food, a very comfortable, calm and peaceful room and so beautiful to be so close to Buckfast Abbey.

This hotel is very special. First, the setting is exceptional as it is nestled in Buckfast village. Secondly, it's part of the Buckfast Abbey complex and is run by the Abbey authorities. The religious context is in no way obvious but there is an ethos that seems to inspire all the staff who are exceptionally kind and solicitous. All of the facilities are first rate, and it even offers complimentary charging for electric cars!
Nothing at all
Great staff good location perfectly clean well thought out spacious room quiet and with good parking, we hope to stay again !
Nothing to dislike !
Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein Schmuckstück!
Peaceful and elegant.

Lovely location & very comfortable rooms. Lovely and quiet, apart from the gentlemen under our window giving his bank details (loudly) on his mobile phone! Friendly staff. It was my partner's birthday & they gave us a birthday dessert in the restaurant, which was really thoughtful. Very nice buffet breakfast included. We use this Hotel when we go to the theatre in Plymouth, only half hour drive to the centre. Anywhere we stayed in Plymouth previously was very noisy.
A bit disappointed that the only truly vegetarian option in the restaurant was pizza.
Extremely clean, quiet and peaceful. High quality finish on everything like a modern church. Oak every where. Breakfast pretty good.
Bed was very firm including pillows but still high quality.
It was beautifully situated, so calm and peaceful in the grounds of the Abbey. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. The room was spacious and comfortable. The onsite restaurant was very pleasant both for evening meal and breakfast. The continental breakfast was plentiful, food was good quality. All staff were pleasant, polite and helpful
Our main issue was that we only discovered the included breakfast was continental in the email sent by the hotel after we booked. Hot breakfast was an additional charge. We had plenty to eat and enjoyed the breakfast but clarity on this, prior to booking (i e on Booking.com hotel info.), was an omission. The toiletries provided were basic, especially given the overall high standard.
Great location and lovely staff. Really comfortable and great facilities. Thank you!

Nothing. Excellant!!
Everything.

Very clean, and very good position to the abbey
Fantastic location to visit the abbey and the staff were genuinely exemplary and kind
The breakfast included on booking was in fact continental and not to our taste and not cooked as is usual so that was a disappointment for us. The room was small and the bed felt like a small double - it was very firm so we needed a mattress topper to get some sleep the second night after not sleeping the first night at all! No air conditioning but we were given a fan and we were able to open two windows - it was so hot!! There was miscommunication on cleaning the room for our second night which was upsetting but the staff were exemplary and sorted everything immediately. The original room was 13 and I’m superstitious so thankfully they immediately changed my room number - the staff are genuinely kind people who do go above and beyond to help xx
All bar the amtress.
The mattress was of very poor quality.
Location & facilities
The bed was too hard & very small for a double
The rooms were clean and tidy and the staff so friendly and helpful

Sehr sauberes Zimmer, unfassbar freundliches Personal, kostenlose Parkplätze, gute Ausstattung und sehr ruhige Lage :)

Excellent location near Dartmoor National Park and at Buckfast Abbey. Convenient check-in and easy parking. Nice facilities with some options for walking in the neighborhood. Nice dining room. I had two excellent dinners and three excellent breafasts there.
Very poorly designed shower. It's not deep enough and has no door, so invariably the floor tile gets soaked and creates a slippage hazard. Th niche for soap and shampoo is a long reach across that tile, making the problem worse.
Lovely relaxing place to stay. Clean, quiet.
Good continental breakfast. Lovely to explore grounds of Buckfastleigh Abbey in the evening, and also to visit the church. I loved the pictures of the Abbey and grounds through the seasons. It was uplifting to see so many Christian symbols throughout the hotel, crucifixes and icon in the bedroom. The restaurant also provided a very good Italian meal in the evening, excellent tiramisu.
Posizione eccellente, immediatamente adiacente all'abbazia e facilmente raggiungibile dall'A38; parcheggio comodo.

The friendly and hardworking staff, nice restaurant and Abbey grounds and gardens
Noise from kitchen fans/deliveries travels to some of the rooms. Heatwave weather so needed windows open.
Nothing
Didn’t have air con, poor water pressure staff not very helpful. Not value for money and wouldn’t stay here again.
The location is amazing and the staff were friendly, Room was clean and tidy and easily accessible. The continental breakfast was very nice and plenty of variety.
The food we had in the evening could do with some improvement as our food was overcooked on the second evening and spoilt the experience.
Lovely location within the grounds of Buckfast Abbey. Good sized, quiet rooms with good quality bedding. Good restaurant for evening meal and buffet breakfast.
Nothing of note.
The hotel suited our needs perfectly

High quality fit and finish enhanced by a a high standard of cleanliness.

Our second stay and just as good as the first. 10/10 for the staff (breakfast staff colleague even obtained the details of the G/F bread bakery for me) and the same for everything else except one thing - change of "direction" for the restaurant. Just a personal allergy issue for one of us (see below). For the other, there was great G/F provision for breakfast, thank you (can't comment on evening menu for G/F, but it looked very good).
No complaint or criticism - just one of us sadly suffers from severe garlic allergy and the restaurant (last time, lots of lovely local fish options) has now taken on an Italian theme. Plenty of choice, and lots of non-garlic options but even aromas from garlic bread/cross pan uses can set off the reaction, so we just couldn't risk it. No problem in the morning as the same (restaurant) room had windows open and was delightfully 'fresh'.
We really enjoy this hotel, it’s always so clean and tidy and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We loved the superior room with the balcony, the shower was incredible- such a beautiful space with incredible views- even when busy the hotel feels peaceful. The food is wonderful too.
Quiet location and ground floor room with shower was allocted as requested
Expensive
Great location right next to Abbey Clean rooms Good continental breakfast
It was a comfortable clean hotel. The staff were all friendly and the food well presented.
Nothing to change
Location and standard
Sehr freundliches Personal, tolles Frühstück, beeindruckende Umgebung
Clean, well maintained and to a high standard
More staff in breakfast bar
Nice clean, soft towels, friendly staff. Good nights sleep.
Shower seemed small therefore water kind of escaped. More storage surfaces in bathroom needed. Not blackout curtains.
Pleasant welcome and unfailing friendliness from all staff. Excellent accommodation. Great location. OV
A little more imagination with the dinner menu. OK over two evenings but potentially tricky if staying longer.
The continental breakfast was superb, as was the flexibility of booking dinner at the hotel. The Abbey on the doorstep was a delight.
Lovely hotel in the magnificent grounds of Buckfast Abbey. Very helpful staff nothing was too much trouble for them. Accommodation and food was superb. Can't praise it highly enough.
There was nothing to dislike

Room was clean. The breakfasts were very good - lots of choice.
The evening meal on first night was not very good. My husband sent his meal back. The chicken on my salad was very tough and I had a job to cut it. We ate out at local pubs for the remainder of our stay.
We only stayed one night but the check-in was easy and the staff were excellent. We had a very nice fish and chips supper and the the continental breakfast the next morning was also very good. The room was a little on the small side and quite warm in this weather but a fan was provided and the room was neatly set out and very clean. The bathroom/shower was clean and modern and very nice. Overall, this hotel in the Abbey grounds was excellent and a great find.
The room was a little warm after summer temperatures of 25-26deg (down from last week’s 30+ deg) but the fan was adequate to keep the room comfortable at night.
We loved how quiet and serene the place was. It was a slice of heaven our room had a balcony and a view.
The pillows were as hard as a rock. I asked for them to be changed but I don’t think they had
Location, friendly staff, clean Free car charging
Hard pillows and mattress, although staff were happy to change pillows
Good location. Electric car charging. Great staff
Room very warm - fan was provided which helped.
Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed in one of their dog friendly rooms on the ground floor which was equipped with tea/coffee tray and a nice comfortable bed. We had a 3 peaceful nights stay. Good, plentiful continental breakfast.
Nothing really.
We have stayed here before. The hotel is in an ideal spot for when we visit relatives, the rooms are comfortable and clean and there is always space in the car park. The continental breakfast is very good. I am sure we will stay here again.
Breakfast was ok, but you had to pay extra for anything cooked
The receptionist on arrival was not that friendly, all other staff were friendly
The property was in a very nice setting. The furnishings in the room were very good, storage, bed and shower. All the employees we encountered were very nice and helpful.
It was quite warm in the room, even with the fan and the windows open (and we weren’t there when it was in the mid 20s+). The shower splatters water everywhere, so floor towel gets soaked. Hard to get and keep feet dry as the bathroom is not very large. We really could have used a frig in the room for a 5 night stay (husband had a course in Buckfastleigh, and no lunch was provided). Had to borrow and bring a loud electric cool box. Maybe you can have a few and wheel them into a room when needed.
Very clean, very friendly staff, comfortable beds and good food
Staff were friendly, free parking onsite and it was clean.
The room was hot so we had to have the windows wide open and left the curtains open a little bit to get the breeze through. However, our room was by reception which was noisy when people wanted letting in and a light came on every time there was movement so we didn’t sleep well at all.
Location was perfectly quiet,ample parking
Full english breakfast not included in tariff
It was clean and of a high standard. The staff were so friendly and helpful.
Nothing
Everything in this hotel is perfect. Rooms, beds, parking, place, staff. It is really a peacefull place.
Location - location - impressive Cathedral and history - one man ‘start up’ !
