Beauty home, central location. Loved that it had a fire place for heating and a bath. Lovely view.

Location, room set up, decor, layout, facilities. Loved it all. Comfortable beds!

Slippery on the decking area, we had some good slips on bums. Noisy road, but earplugs worked great

Steep driveway at the front. Neighbors complain if you take longer than 10min to unload your vehicle at the back entrance. Otherwise worth the view.

Everything! My favourite was the ensuite shower. After a long flight/drive, that hot shower was the best I’ve had in a while!

The Hatea treehouse is a gorgeously furnished home with an exceptional vibe as you're situated in amongst trees and shrubs. Then you walk out onto the deck to be greeted with a beautiful view overlooking the Whāngarei river to top it all off.

The home is heavily monitored by security cameras which is understandable and warranted due to the location being so close to the cbd. This did sadly result in an early morning knock at the door with an accusation that 16 people had stayed because only people entering the property were counted but not the ones existing.

Lovely presented house, fantastic location for our requirements. Spacious and well appointed.

There was nothing we didnt like. There is quite a lot of road noise first thing in the morning, which did not affect us, but I could imagine it might be disruptive for some.

Comfy, quirky and homely. A wide selection of teas, along with information about beneficial effects, were available to try, which we did.

Nice outlook over inlet but also beside a main road so there was regular traffic noise.

EVERYTHING! This place is neat, clean, fun, beautiful and stunning. I was so surprised with the place. I never rate B & B's but I feel like this place deserves the best ratings ever. Thank you for the best end to our long weekend, which was also our 18th wedding anniversary.

Beautiful home, very comfortable, nice street, definitely catered to our needs.

The house was beautiful, the art deco, the wall paper, the lights in the trees was so pretty, and being able to sit on the belcony and have a coffee in the morning and see the estree aceoss the road, 👌🏾

There was nothing i didnt actually like, we parked on Hatea Drive side of the house, the stairs where a little uneven, but its very visible day and night, the path was really well light when the security lights turned on... just such a comfortable house..

Such a cool property. Beautifully furnished with lots of little touches like a curated range of tea and quirky wall paper. Beds were comfy and the view from the deck was lovely.

Great layout - everything we needed. Handy to town and town basin…

Traffic noise - very busy road. Lovely deck but couldn’t enjoy it because of the traffic noise. Location was great but ruined by traffic noise. Ants were all over a birthday cake left in pantry for 4 hours…if we knew ants were an issue, would’ve put cake in fridge.

The stay was so amazing I loved how it gave that experience of a tree house I would definitely recommend to whanau (family)

The location of the house, close to town and we loved the lake also seeing the beautiful sunrise every morning. Inside the house was immaculate, ever cosy and welcoming.

Facilities were amazing, everything you would need for a weekend away was available. The fireplace was our favourite feature. The location of the property was perfect as it was in close distance to different walking tracks, town basin and the township.

Great location and the property and its Devore were lovely.

Bed was slightly uncomfortable for me but rest of family slept really well.

Location was great, easy walk into The Basin. Having two bathrooms was perfect for us.

Road was a little noisy and clothes dryer would just top it off.

The area and scene was serene and peaceful. We enjoyed the stream across the street: beautiful views. Very green and lush with beauty.

Cooking and oven facility were restricted.

The views were good with a beautiful well equipped & spacious balcony. The property was spacious & thoughtfully decorated. Only a short walk into town. Plenty of parking. Lots of towels provided along with shampoo, conditioner & shower gel.

Shame we couldn't stay longer as it was such a lovely place.

Peace and serene. Traffic all night was the only thing that kept us awake. Love the lounge light like a tunnel, beautiful and unique.

Noisy - Hatea Dr is rather busy so gets a lot of noise from the traffic.

It was private and close to things.

A bit noisy and even though generally clean, would benefit of a deep clean once in a while.

Third time staying at Hatea Treehouse and again I cannot fault anything, wonderful place to stay, close to everything and pet friendly, I will recommend to anyone wanting to stay, can’t wait to visit again, such an amazing place 😊

The host was very accommodating and very helpful. The location was excellent for where we were and it was a perfect little home away from home for us on our wedding weekend.

Facilities were nice however no privacy if you want any sort of privacy do not book this place as they have cameras that watch you and record everything you or anyone is doing. it's actually very invasive the host and her partner are very rude to say the least we prepaid for the property in advance overnight we had a couple of family friends children who ended up in a domestic violence situation and had nowhere to go so we let them rest with us at the property due to them having nowhere safe to go then at 8am in the morning the host and co tured up stormed through the house yelling( I was in the shower at the time with no clothes on)they were demanding $75 for the extra guests we had barley had time to open our eyes n was nowhere near checkout time they abused my daughter demanding money and invaded our privacy they were informed that I was naked but ignored my daughter n continued to walk through the property demanding their $75 I told them I didn't have it and that I could pay it the next day (when my pay came through) however they said no money then we are calling the cops the whole situation got blown rite out of proportion it was very invasive rude and damn rite unprofessional especially considering I had msgd them back that night explaining my situation with the extra kids /guests our family is actually a little traumatized by the whole scenario especially due to the fact that we were there ourselves for the night for a safe place for my daughter due to a domestic violence situation she was in herself that night before these people had no consideration or care for anyone or anything except their extra money $75 they say we owed for the extra guests we treated their house with very much respect even did our dishes n laundry eg towels etc of theirs n had made sure to keep the place clean and tidy n treat it with respect I would think that I could expect the same treatment in return but in this case very much not so what was meant to be a...

Location was great although had not expected the number of vehicles that travelled past the property which was noticeable when sitting on the outside deck which overlooked the road. Traffic noise was not so noticeable when inside. The interior décor was a great surprise and very much enjoyed. The living area and bedrooms were of good size and would make for an enjoyable extended stay. Car parking off Hatea Drive was easy although the steps up to the house were accurately described in the notes so not suitable for everyone. The alternate access to the house was straightforward although limited car parking as described.

Some of the window latches did not seal completely which did mean some street noise was more noticeable particularly in the road facing rooms.

this is not a did not like.letting you know the shower in the main bathroom was very slow in draining down.

Everything was amazing, the decor is very cool I loved the location and view of Hatea river, I would highly recommend this place to anyone, pet friendly too which was a bonus. I would love to stay again.

Great place with good indoor/outdoor flow. Very private. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with a view of the water. Really liked the option of having a cosy fire to sit next to.

The steps up to property. I understood the car could drive up a ramp. I use a walking stick but managed going down the stairs once and used the ramp otherwise.

We were okay with t he steep access and road noise but these could be a challenge for others.

Perfect location looking over the Hatea river. Comfy beds and house decorated to a really high standard with. Loved the indoor/outdoor flow with the deck being easily accessible and the egg chairs on the deck were really nice to sit in overlooking the river Really easy to walk to Whangarei township and bonus that we could bring our fur baby.

The location was good, nice view and an ok walk into the shops. The bed was firm, I prefer soft, but I actually slept very well. We only stayed one night as we were travelling, but would have happily stayed a lot longer. Better than the more expensive hotel we stayed in whilst in Auckland. Would return if staying in that area again. The property was large and comfortable. It should be noted that there really is no disabled access. I have trouble with knees and just managed it. But if you need walking crutches or wheel chair then this would be no good.

It was close to a main road and hence traffic noise. However that noise died down at night and wasn’t an issue. Also if you are used to living in a town or city then you probably wouldn’t even notice the noise. It’s not something that can be change and whilst it would have been nice if the was less noise, it’s not something that would stop me returning.
