Hotel Riverrina

We had a brilliant stay at hotel Riverrina they were so kind and welcoming. We got picked up from the airport and instantly felt safe after arriving in Sri Lanka. The hospitality was fantastic, they even organised our transport to Sigiriya the next day with a cave temple visit. The breakfast was also delicious! We only wish we had stayed longer to use the lovely pool! Thank you!

Very friendly and helpful host! Guesthouse is a little hidden: not so easy to find but very nice big garden, which was a real asset to wind down after 2 weeks of Sri Lanka. The room was very comfortable, clean, recently renewed! Note: hotel is still under construction so don't be surprised to arrive in a place "under construction". If constructions continue as they do, this will be a great and comfortable place to stay! Recommend!

Sehr nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Schöne Poolanlage. Die Düsen im Pool wurden extra eingeschaltet, sobald Gäste im Wasser waren, das war ein wirklich angenehmer und aufmerksamer Service

Das Frühstück war enttäuschend: Trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage und Wiederholung haben wir nicht das erhalten, was wir bestellt bzw. bezahlt hatten. Insgesamt ist das Frühstück für die gebotene Qualität zu teuer und daher nicht empfehlenswert. Die Poolanlage wirkte teilweise ungepflegt und hätte besser gereinigt werden können. Bettlaken und Bettdecken waren in beiden gebuchten Zimmern verschmutzt. In einem Badezimmer kam eine Kakerlake aus dem Abfluss (in solchen Regionen zwar nicht immer vermeidbar, dennoch unangenehm).

Obsłudze bardzo zależy żeby wszystko było na 100%, czasami aż za bardzo😄Prawie jak w Białym Lotosie😉Nie mniej wszyscy bardzo się starają. Basen czysty przez całe 7 dni. Mieliśmy odwołany lot i to był bardzo dobry wybór na przeczekanie. Dobry stosunek jakości do ceny. Około 15 min jazdy tuk tukiem do Negombo. Szczerze polecam.

Mogliby sobie odpuścić próbę podrabiania kuchni europejskiej na rzecz dobrej domowej kuchni lankijskiej.

Super nettes Personal, dass sich sehr bemüht. Ein wenig Englisch kenntnisse vorhanden - der Inhaber spricht perfekt Englisch. Die Zimmer waren sehr gross und hatten sogar einen Sitzbereich mit Tisch. Badezimmer mit sehr viel Platz. Kleiner Balkon mit Stühlen mit Sicht auf den wunderschönen Pool ud Garten. Abends eine sehr tolle Stimmung durch die Palmen etc. Sehr ruhig etwas aussherlab gelegen Die Lage ist sehr ruhig un etwas ausserhalb aber TukTuks ist sind immer in max. 5 Minuten da (via PickMe App) und in 7-8 Minuten ist man in der belebten Strasse mit Restaurants und Läden. Man auch direkt im Hotel etwas zu Essen bestellen. Einfach frühzeitig melden 81-2h vorher), da man keinen durchgehenden Küchenbetrieb hat (absolut verständlich). Es hat einen Kühlschrank in der Lobby, wo man getränke kaufen kann (Mineralwasser, Bier und Softgetränke). Der Pool und die Gartenanlage sind so wunderschön - unserer Kinder wollten durchgehend dort bleiben ;-) Frühstück ist in Ordnung. Toast, Butter, Konfitüre, Wurst oder auch ein SriLanka Frühstück ist möglich (z.B. String Hoppers). Man kann für einen Nachschlag fragen (zusätzliches Toast oder heisses Warrer für Kaffee/Tee). Im Garten wird ab und zu ein Pferd angebunden, welches dort ein paar Stunden frisst. Toll für die Kinder. Das Hotel bietet auch ein par Touren an. Direkt am Hotel kann man eine 2h Flusstour machen, welche morgend oder Abends stattfndet (haben wir nicht genutzt aber wäre sicherlich schön). Wenn man einen TRansport braucht, hilft man auch weiter. Der Eigentümer selber hat uns am Schluss zu unserem nächsten Hotel gefahren zu einem anständigen Preis. Wir haben es als Familie mit Kindern hier sehr genossen.

Wir hatten absolut nichts auszusetzen.

L’emplacement est idéal, au calme, parfait pour se détendre. Les chambres sont très belles, propres et spacieuses, avec tout le confort nécessaire. La piscine au milieu des palmiers est un vrai plus, super agréable pour se relaxer. Le gérant a été plus qu’adorable : il nous a même permis de laisser nos valises à l’hôtel pendant plusieurs jours, ce qui nous a énormément aidés. Un accueil vraiment chaleureux et attentionné. Je recommande à 100%

Bed was een beetje hard maar dat is in de rest van Sri Lanka meestal niet anders.

la chambre était très spacieuse et bien équipée et pareil pour la salle de bain. le balcon est un vrai + et la piscine incroyable

si vous voulez manger à l’hôtel (le plus facile compte tenu de l’emplacement) vous devrez passer commande avant 18h un peu embêtant mais ok

Quiet and secluded, very peaceful

Super fijn verblijf gehad! Personeel was lief en attent. Kamer was ruim met een goede badkamer. Zwembad en de tuin lagen er prachtig bij. We hebben ontzettend genoten!

It was a little out of town but was easy to get a Tuk Tuk.

Hotel au fond d’une impasse très à l’abri des bruits de la ville ou de la rue. Piscine de belle taille pour nager et profiter du beau jardin. Le personnel est discret mais présent dès que vous avez besoin . Les chambres sont très belles et grandes. Si vous cherchez le calme avant de reprendre l’avion ou vous reposer d’un long voyage, alors vous êtes au bon endroit

Il y avait une fuite d eau dans la salle de bain au niveau des toilettes , ç était trempé et ça sentait l humidite grande chambre mais austère

Really nice hotel with a beautiful garden, a nice pool and comfortable rooms, especially nice bathroom.

Only thing I missed during my stay was a mosquito net during the night.

La piscine est vraiment top et le jardin magnifique et très agréable. Par ailleurs il y a un très bon rapport qualité prix des repas proposés et le personnel est très gentil. Les chambres sont spacieuses et propres.

Être dans le calme au milieu d’une palmeraie et une piscine très spacieuse et reposante. La literie était très bien . Ça faisait du bien d’être en dehors de l’agitation de la ville . Un propriétaire attentif à ses clients.

Pas de repas possibles sans réservation à l’avance. Un personnel un peu méfiant ou distant mais qui se laisse apprivoiser . Il faut demander les choses.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und hatten einen tollen Start unserer Sri Lanka Rundreise. Bei Ankunft abends wurde für uns noch Pizza bestellt. Transporte konnten über die Unterkunft gebucht werden. Highlight ist der sehr schöne Garten!!

Am Pool gibt es leider kaum Schatten

The hotel has an excellent pool, and the surrounding pool area is just great. The shared spaces of the hotel are very beautiful. The rooms are simpler, but they are clean and well-maintained. Since the hotel is located next to a canal, make sure to bring mosquito repellent — there are mosquitoes. The hotel also recommended a massage for us, and it exceeded our expectations. The staff was friendly and very helpful: even though we arrived late, they extended the pool opening hours for us, and they set up a net in the pool so the kids could play water volleyball.

The hotel was in beautiful surroundings with a gorgeous pool. The rooms were clean and staff were friendly and attentive. You can see a lot of effort has been made to make it a special place.

The room was very spacious and the pool was great. The host made us breakfast in the morning which was lovely and everyone was very friendly and helped us with our bags! Would reccomend staying here after flights or before as it’s really easy from the airport

De opzet is prachtig. Een klein paradijs op een onverwachte plek. Helaas heeft de cycloon flink wat kapotgemaakt in de tuin en aangrenzend kanaal

Sehr nettes und zuvorkommendes Personal, konnten uns bei jeder Frage helfen und haben alles möglich gemacht. Haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Auch der große Pool im wunderschönen Garten hat für viel Entspannung gesorgt. Wir würden aufjedenfall nochmal kommen.

Ganz kleiner Nachteil war die Lage, etwas abgelegen von den ganzen Restaurants und Supermärkten. Aber mit TukTuk gar kein Problem.

Great breakfast and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. We loved the pool and the hotel was located in a quiet part of Negombo which was peaceful.

The hotel was unfinished and there was some construction noise during the day.

Very friendly staff and great food. During out stay, they were still cleaning up after the cyclone hit the hotel, and they were still so thoughtful. So definitely support this lovely hotel.

It was a really beautiful place and the staff was super nice. The room was super beautiful with the nice garden view. The garden was also nice to explore different animals and plants and we enjoyed the swimming pool :)

Fijne tuin en zwembad! Heel vriendelijk personeel die klaarstaan voor je vragen of een kleine babbel. Kamers zijn ruim met een afzondelijk terras.

Hotel ligt iets verder van het dorp waardoor je hier wel rekening mee dient te houden voor vervoer (bv tuktuks) Het toilet in onze kamer lekte en rook niet zo fris maar dit kan te maken hebben met de cycloon waar het hotel wel wat schade van had!

This hotel seriously exceeded my expectations. It was STUNNING- the rooms and the pool. the staff couldn’t have been nicer. the food was AMAZING. it was clean, safe and so refreshing after a not-so-great stay right before it. they also have partnership with a local spa which was so nice as there is a free tuktuk service to go there. Do not hesitate to book this hotel if you’re coming to negombo !! (and if you’re going to colombo- go here instead). Sisil checked us in and out and was so helpful and accommodating the whole time. Couldn’t be happier !!

A lovely boutique hotel, with very friendly staff who made me feel very welcome for my short stay. The hotel is located away from the noise of Negombo, which makes it a relaxing and peaceful environment. However, it is still close enough to town for the local amenities to be easily accessible. The hotel has a decent sized pool and spacious grounds.

The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport, so not the closest option if you are looking for somewhere to stay before flying home, but if you don't mind that distance then you are sure to have an enjoyable time at Hotel Riverina with Dunesh and his team.

We had a great stay at Riverrina! The staff was very friendly and the garden and pool were amazing! With a tuktuk you are in 10 minutes in Negombo.

Here’s an honest review because I don’t understand all the positive comments and high ratings. Yes, the place is cheap, and well… what can you really expect? But even so, I do expect a clean room. We arrived late at night due to a flight delay, and someone was waiting for us, which was helpful. The room initially looked okay, but there was a strong musty smell. The bathroom was dirty and smelled like sewage. The bed was not clean, with stains, hairs, a burn hole, dust behind the pillows, and dead insects including a cockroach that had clearly been there for a while. Staff provided a new sheet, but were not open to our feedback. Friends in the next room also saw a live cockroach at night, and their sheets were not very clean either. There was also no warm water in the shower and most of the sockets didn’t work. We planned to stay two nights but left after one. The cabins are next to very dirty ponds with fish, which are also a mosquito breeding ground. There is no lighting outside at night, birds are kept in tiny cages, and a lone pony showed clear signs of neglect, including a tick in its eye and being bothered by flies. We were allowed to leave early without paying extra, which was considerate. But if you care about cleanliness or animal welfare, don’t go here.

Einfach ein Paradies zum wohlfühlen! Wir können es wirklich jedem empfehlen, der Ruhe sucht und einfach ein sehr sehr gutes Hotel will. Das Außengelände mit schönem Pool und Sonnenliegen,, Pferd, tausenden Glühwürmchen am Abend und einem riesigen Gelände voller Palmen und exotischer Pflanzen ist ein Traum! Das Personal ist super hilfsbereit und nett.

Het hotel met Het zwembad midden in een groene oase was heerlijk. Het eten van chef-kok/hotelmanager ook voortreffelijk. De omgeving en Negombo zelf is druk en niet bijzonder boeiend

Malheureusement nous avons séjourné à un moment où il y avait des travaux et cela a été bruyant à certains moments

Super mooi zwembad gelegen tussen de palmen en planten. Het personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het is een fijne plek.

Niks aan de accomodatie die was gewoon goed. Het ligt alleen een beetje afgelegen dus je loopt niet zo even naar een restaurantje. Met de tuktuk ben je overal zo natuurlijk dus op zich niet erg. Het is 37 minuten rijden vanaf jet vliegveld dus als je jet kiest omdat het dichterbij is dan Colombo, dat is niet zo.

Nothing to not like at all

Perfect if you are looking for a quiet and comfortable spot when you arrive in Sri Lanka or before leaving and heading to the airport. I wanted to enjoy my last day in the country relaxing by the pool, running some errands and a short ride to the airport (30min by tuk tuk), Hotel Riverrina is perfect for that ! The owner is the sweetest and will do absolutely everything he can to make your stay as smooth as possible. The room is big, stylish and clean. The garden and pool very nice as well ! The location is a bit out of the main road and hustle of Negombo, in a suburban neighborhood, which was perfect for me !

It's a lovely, quiet place with friendly and helpful people running it. Very picturesque, very green, very clean.

No issues, just it's a bit away from the action, so plan accordingly! Best to have a tuktuk on call or a rented scooty. Adds to the peaceful nature of the place though

Prachtige locatie net buiten de stad Negombo. De manager Sisil was erg aardig en zorgzaam. Vertelde ons veel over de omgeving en de locatie.

Très bel endroit, les nuits les plus calmes de tout notre séjour au Sri Lanka. Piscine au top. Possibilité de manger sur place pour un rapport qualité prix très bien. Personnel très gentil. Le boss veille à ce que votre séjour se passe le mieux possible. Le dernier jour, on s'est trompé sur le réglage du réveil pour l'avion, il nous a attendu et nous a emmené à l'aéroport à 5h et demi du matin en allant vraiment aussi vite que c'était possible. Encore merci.
