La gentillesse et la disponibilité du personnel. L'emplacement et la propreté du lieu. La chambre était grande et le repas qui m'a été servi était excellent.

Le toit de la salle de bain n'est pas couvert et pendant que je me prenais ma douche il pleuvait sur moi.

Jardín y desayuno

La cisterna del water no funcionaba. Se inundó la Habitación. No había jabón en el baño.

De locatie was goed; dichtbij het strand en je liep makkelijk naar restaurantjes. Geen geluidsoverlast van de soms wel drukke straat. We werden bij aankomst goed geholpen toen we iets belangrijks kwijt waren. Het bed lag lekker en de kamer was ruim en schoon. Zwembad klein maar fijn, wel zijn de bedjes aan vervanging toe.

Op de eerste avond was er een groot verjaardagsfeest. Dat werd ons wel verteld, maar er was lang harde muziek. Niet heel fijn na een lange reisdag. Na een keer gevraagd te hebben hoe lang het nog zou duren zou dit maximaal een halfuur zijn. Echter na 45 minuten nogmaals naar het personeel waarbij werd gezegd geef ons nog 10 minuten. Aangegeven dat dit echt niet kon zo waarna dit snel stopte. Hiervoor werden we gecompenseerd de dag daarna met een gratis maaltijd en excuses dus dat was fijn. Het personeel is vriendelijk en behulpzaam, maar soms ook wat opdringerig. Zo brachten ze de bagage naar de kamer, maar vroegen vervolgens of we hun niet een klein beetje geld konden geven. Ook zaten we te eten en ging de eigenaresse die een tafel verder zat ons toen bellen omdat ze wilde weten of we geen tour wilde boeken. We vonden dit wat vreemd en opdringerig overkomen wat een beetje een vreemde bijsmaak aanhef verblijf gaf. Het verblijf is mooi, maar heeft hier en daar wat onderhoud nodig; de wc zat niet meer helemaal vast en de douchestang lekte ook aan vele kanten. Ook zou een douchegordijn geen overbodige luxe zijn.

Super vriendelijk personeel. Ontbijt uitgebreid, keuze uit Sri Lankaans of Westers. Sri Lankaans is zeer aan te bevelen!

Geen koelkast in de kamer; het zwembad was erg klein; er waren op het moment van verblijven vrij aanwezige buren die we goed konden horen.

Prima verblijf voor ons eerste dagen in Sri Lanka, even bijkomen na een lange reis. De kamer was prima, geen hoogstandje maar was oke. Personeel was ontzettend vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Eten in het restaurant was erg goed en gevarieerd. Vooral Sri Lankaanse eten + ontbijt was top!

Het mag iets schoner en nieuwer. Badkamer was niet top. Wc zat los van de grond, kraan was niet goed gemonteerd, zat geen douche gordijn in dus alles was zeiknat als je ging douchen. Ook was de klamboe kapot en zaten de vliegen er al in voordat we hem hadden geopend. Daarnaast vonden we het zwembad ook niet heel schoon.. Sommige dingen kunnen beter en vernieuwd worden maar het was prima voor 2 nachten!

Room very basic. No hairdryer, iron or even spare toilet roll. Food was poor and service not good.

La localisation puis nous avons pu avoir une navette entre l’hôtel et l’aéroport dans la nuit.

La piscine est petite et détériorée. Les lits sont pas confortables. Les serviettes de toilettes étaient sales. La salle de bain était salle ( odeur d’urine, traces de calcaires un peut partout ).

Perfekter Start in Sri Lanka! Unser Aufenthalt bei The Barns Villas and Restaurant war der ideale Beginn für unsere 21 Tage in Sri Lanka! Besonders Maleesha hat uns mit offener Herzlichkeit empfangen – inklusive Tee und Hilfe beim Gepäck. Wir fühlten uns sofort willkommen. Der Pool ist super gepflegt, die Klimaanlage läuft einwandfrei, und das Frühstück war jeden Morgen frisch zubereitet – ein Traum! Wer sich am Anfang unsicher ist mit dem lokalen Essen, kann getrost im hauseigenen Barnes Restaurant essen: sauber, lecker und mit top Bedienung. Ein paar Wörter auf Singhalisch haben wir auch noch gelernt – danke für die tollen Tage!

El personal muy amable y las instalaciones bastante bien, todo muy cómodo. Nos fuimos al aeropuerto a las 4:00 de la mañana y nos prepararon un desayuno para llevar. Recomiendo bastante el lugar

Abbiamo trascorso qui la nostra prima notte a Negombo e ci siamo trovati molto bene. La stanza era spaziosa e pulita, con letti molto comodi, aria condizionata e ventilatore. Il personale è stato molto accogliente e gentile. La colazione è stata una delle migliori che abbiamo avuto durante il nostro viaggio in Sri Lanka.

Purtroppo non abbiamo potuto usufruire della piscina perché non era pulita. I ragazzi sono stati comunque molto gentili: avendo notato il problema, ci hanno spiegato che l’avrebbero pulita il giorno seguente. Peccato però che noi saremmo partiti la mattina successiva e quindi non abbiamo avuto modo di utilizzarla.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We started our holiday here and had a fantastic start! What a wonderful place, with incredibly kind people and delicious food. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, exactly what you need to unwind. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing start to your holiday or a peaceful way to finish your trip. We really enjoyed our stay!

Being in Negombo serves as a good starting point for one night stay towards and from North. Cozy and clean facilities with a pool. Polite and helpful staff with decent food choices. Good value for money. If you have time then take a 5 mins walk to the beach in the morning when fishermen are just back with fresh catch!

The hotel staff really stood out—they were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel also had a lovely restaurant, which was especially convenient after a long day when you simply don’t feel like going back out.

The beds and bedding were super comfee and the pool was warm and clean - perfect after a long journey.

Simple for one night it was ok.

Bathroom should have a separation glass between shouwer and the rest. There was nothing available after 22h.

In one of our rooms the faucet leaked, shower water pressure was ridiculously low, trouble flushing the toilet. Tiny pool - seems much bigger in pictures. Across the street is a dry fish farm, noticeable fishy smell outside, and depending on the wind, also inside the hotel.

Veel muggen slechts 1 klamboe in gezinskamer.

Room was clean, comfortable, and AC was cold. Pool was small but nice to have a dip and the water looked clean. The staff were nice and friendly. OK for a 1 night stay over.

We asked for a Sri Lankan breakfast, which was agreed to when we booked in. There was no Sri lankan breakfast the next day. The kind of european style breakfast, although well presented, was stone cold, bread somewhere in between toast and bread. I guess there was a lack of communication somewhere along the line.

Nous sommes partis avec 20 min de retard Reveilles en pleine nuit par des bruits d explosion (coups de feu...)⁸

Vriendelijk personeel en schone accommodatie.

La atención del personal fue excepcional, muy atentos y serviciales. Llegamos de madrugada y nos dieron las opciones para hacer el checkin a esas horas. El desayuno está bien y la piscina genial! Yo tuve que ponerme a trabajar y, para no molestarme, pusieron el ventilador de la zona donde estaba del comedor para aliviar el calor y posteriormente, la luz. Muy atentos y respetuosos. Por la zona hay muchos restaurantes de comida local, nosotros fuimos al Sunset y nos encantó (comida riquísima, fresca, muy limpio y la atención increíble).

We waren met zn drieën en tweepersoonsbed was prima! De douche was lekker warm. Eten echt heel lekker en de locatie was dik voor elkaar. Personeel heel vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Voor een nachtje na aankomst heel prima omdat het dichtbij het vliegveld is.

Het eenpersoonsbed had echt een te hard matras. De communicatie loopt wat moeilijk omdat hun Engels niet heel goed is. Soms is de afstemming dan niet wat je verwacht had. Omgeving is niet veel te doen.

Kleine Anlage, etwa 4 Zimmer. Wir haben das Familienzimmer für zwei Nächte gebucht. Der Platz war ausreichend, da es zwei grosse Doppelbetten gab. Das Personal war super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Abendessen war toll (hatte Currys). Frühstück hat uns auch gut geschmeckt wir konnten Wünsche angeben. Der Pool war für meine Kinder sehr gut, da man nicht im Meer baden kann. Dieser war zwar klein, aber ausreichend und vor allem sauber. Baden ist am Browns Beach (5 Min) mit Tuktuk zu erreichen.Wir würden wieder kommen.

Ich kann über das kleine Hotel nichts negatives berichten.Es gibt einen Zugang zum Meer, dort werden aber die Fische getrocknet und der Strand ist zugemüllt, dass Meer direkt ist zwar sauber, hat aber hohe Wellen und auch Strömungen.

Het personeel was erg lief voor onze zoon van 2. De kamers waren schoon en comfortabel. Echt een perfecte plek om even bij te komen van je vlucht. Absolute aanrader.

Personeel was buiten dat ze heel vriendelijk waren nog redelijk onervaren. We hebben daar geen last van gehad. Maar het was wel te merken.

L’esthétique du lieu, la propreté, la piscine , la proximité avec l’aéroport. La Chambre qui donne sur la piscine. Idéal pour la dernière nuit.

Insonorisation inexistante. Notre baie vitrée sur la piscine ne s’ouvrait pas ! Personnel qui semble « absent ». Rapport qualité prix loin de ce qu’on peut vivre au Sri Lanka. Établissement très isolé. La plage à proximité immédiate n’est pas baignable.

I had a wonderful stay at The Barns Villas and Restaurant. The place is absolutely beautiful and very calm, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The food was really delicious, and everything we tried was full of flavor. The service was incredible , the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. I also felt very safe during the visit, which made the experience even better. Overall, it was an amazing experience and I would definitely come again. Highly recommended!

Wir nutzten die Unterkunft für eine Nacht nach Ankunft in Colombo um am nächsten Tag weiterzuziehen. Zimmerausstattung und Grösse waren ok.

Es wirkte als wurde alles etwas auf die Schnelle gereinigt. Der organisierte Transport hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Im Nachhinein müssen wir jedoch sagen, dass er etwas überteuert war.

I am writing this to warn every single traveler especially families to STAY AWAY from this property because we had a traumatic nightmare experience that no one should ever face in their life. We booked this villa while in Dubai, preparing for our flight to Sri Lanka from Germany with our 6-month-old infant and everything was planned perfectly as we explicitly communicated our arrival time between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM and provided our flight details well in advance, which the management confirmed repeatedly and told us to call the numbers on the door upon arrival. However, the moment we touched down in Sri Lanka we received a cold, heartless, and disgusting message from them saying "Cancel your booking because there is no one here to receive you," which left us stranded on the street in the middle of the night with a tiny baby after a long international flight. Can you believe the absolute cruelty and zero humanity of leaving a family with an infant in a vulnerable situation at 2 AM despite knowing exactly when we were coming and having our confirmation in their system? They even had the audacity to message us back saying, "It’s OK DON'T CANCEL. YOU CAN CHECK IN at that time" at 22:09, only 1 hour and 30 minutes before we were supposed to be there. Imagine the panic and mental stress this caused us with a 6-month-old infant in an unfamiliar country. After abandoning us at 2 AM they now have the audacity to send us messages asking, "Hi why didn nt u come ? Now u have to pay extra half of the money to booking. Com. and also we were so busy and stressful for organising a person at 2 in the morning." This management is completely unreliable dishonest and a total disgrace to Sri Lankan hospitality. They clearly do not care about the safety of tourists or children and they are happy to take your booking but will shut the door on your face when you actually arrive and then demand extra money.

No fridge in the room, location was a bit out of Negombo strip so not many restaurants.

Notre dernier logement avant de prendre l'avion du retour situé a 30min de l'aéroport. Super logement très cosy. Le personnel était hyper accueillant. La chambre etait très confortable et très propre. Le petit déjeuner très bien servit, bien présenté et copieux. Il est possible de manger sur place.

Une légère odeur de poisson qui sèche et pas mal de mouche, car le logement est situé pres du port de pêche.

The accommodation was clean, good located and personnel was friendly. Breakfast was home made and delicious. Our luggage was safely kept aside during our entire trip in Sri Lanka.

In der Nähe gab es am Abend laute Musik aber nur paar Std hatte wohl Pech an dem Abend.

Zum ankommen super. Der Pool war das Highlight für unsere Tochter (5 J.) v.a. da das Meer nur bedingt zum baden geeignet ist. Eigentlich geht es nur am Public beach.

A unique relaxing place to cool down from the city life! There is a lovely pool and garden with sun beds in the shadows, the chef will cook for you everything you desire for breakfast, lunch or dinner, and it's delicious! All the staff is very accommodating and friendly. The rooms are clean and very big. We will definitely recommend this place:)

Das Personal war extremst freundlich und super hilfsbereit. Uns wurde geholfen Tuk Tuks zu bestellen und man stand uns bei jeder Frage super nett zur Seite. Das Hotel war auch sehr schön hergerichtet und direkt in der Nähe von Strand, Restaurants und Supermärkten.

Der Abfluss unseres Waschbeckens ging nicht, das Bad war nicht ganz so sauber und auf der Terasse wo wir frühstückten lagen tote Kackerlaken, die nicht entfernt wurden, deswegen waren wir mit der Sauberkeit nicht 100 Prozentig zufrieden.

This stay was unforgetable. Firstly the owner, he was really nice and did everything we asked even brought beer. He Cook us an amazing srilankan breakfast in front of us. Place was neat clean and beautiful. The pool was also clean and we had so much fun. I really recomend it.

Personal gentil y amigable, perfecto para pasar una noche

Excellent location, half an hour from the airport with excellent taxi service and also very close to the traditional Catamarans on the near by beach. Staff very helpful and friendly with great food. A very clean and tidy property with a great small pool in the beautiful grounds right next to the accommodation.

Personalet var utroligt venlige og hjalp os med alt fra bådeture, til hvis vi manglede noget på værelserne. Der var rent og da vi havde et problem med vores bruser blev det fikset på under 5 minutter. Meget hjælpsomme og god aftensmad.
